The one-two punch of Savannah Quick and Sophie Vinson fired a team score of +8 (152) on Tuesday to finish the day in a 2nd place tie at the TSSAA State Golf Tournament at Willowbrook.  Coffee County will enter tournament play on Wednesday trailing tournament leader Houston by 1 stroke.  A lightning delay of almost 2 hours effectively broke the day up into halves as Coffee County entered the delay in first place.  Quick and Vinson shot a combined 4 over par on the first 2 holes when the golfers returned to the course after the lengthy delay.  Teagan Perry finished the day with an 88 for the Lady Raiders.  Savannah Quick will be in the first group on Wednesday as she will tee off at 8:00 AM on the 1st tee.  Sophie Vinson follows her at 8:10 while Teagan Perry’s foursome tees off at 8:20.  Quick, with her 3 over par score of 75, is also in a 6th place tie for the individual medal as she is 4 strokes off the lead.  Vinson, at 6 strokes back, is in a tie for 11th.

John Parigger, the lone Red Raider who qualified for Coffee County, struggled on the back 9 as he shot a 6 over par 78 on the day.  John also struggled after the lightning delay as he got a bogey on each of the first 3 holes he played after returning to the course.  Parigger rallied to complete his final 7 holes at even par to give him momentum going into Wednesday.  Parigger will begin Wednesday in a tie for 45th place 13 strokes off the lead.  Parigger will begin his 2nd round on the 10th tee in a foursome that will tee off at 9:40 AM.

The Class AAA State Golf Tournament concludes on Wednesday.  The public is invited to come out and support all the golfers.  Admission for the tournament is $8 and golf carts will not be available for spectators.
