4/2/12 — Ralph F. Lawson

Mr. Ralph F. Lawson, age 72, of Manchester, formerly of Tullahoma, passed away Friday at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
A native of Winchester, he was the son of the late J.W. and Frances Ford Lawson.
He was a retired mechanic and gas station operator and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Randy “Duck” Lawson in 2008.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Kilgore Lawson, one son; Mike (Pam) Lawson of Tullahoma, two grandchildren; Dwana Weddington of Tullahoma, and Josh (Chasity) Lawson of Hillsboro, three great-grandchildren; Jasmine, Chesney, and Salem, one sister; Geneva Argo, and one brother; Edwin Lawson.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, from 4:30 until 9:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, at 10:00AM in the chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home with Rev. Buck Frazier and Bro. Wayne Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.

4/1/12 — Talmage Eugene “T.E.” Tilley

Talmage Eugene “T.E.” Tilley, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend went to be with his Lord Friday, March 30, 2012.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 3:30 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Tilley was born March 6, 1926 in Boaz, Alabama the son of the late John Thomas Tilley and Ida Williams Tilley.

As a young boy, he and his family moved to Harrisburg, Oregon where he worked on the family farm.  He joined the United States Army July 13, 1944.  He served as a Paratrooper during WWII where he earned the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), Victory Medal, American Theater Service Medal as well as the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal.  Upon returning stateside, he was stationed at Ft. Benning, Georgia where he met his soon to be wife, Frances Ruth Brock.  They married April 1, 1945 and began their family.  They moved to Manchester in 1952 where Mr. Tilley was employed as an electrician at AEDC.  He retired in the early 1990’s after many years of dedicated service.  Mr. Tilley was also very active in the Manchester community having served three terms as Alderman as well as serving as former Vice Mayor of Manchester.  He was known to be an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and golf.  He was a master gardener who enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends.  He was a “Win or Lose, Devoted, Loyal UT Vols Fan and was also a member of Masonic Highland Lodge # 214.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Manchester for over 50 years and was member of the Agape Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Michael Hugh Tilley in 1983, a son-in-law, Lt. Col. Vern Maddox, brothers, Roy, Hubert, Cecil and Johnny Tilley and a sister, Gladys Fauth.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Frances Tilley of Tullahoma; three children, Jacqualyn Tilley Burton and husband, Rhett of Huntsville, AL, Vicki Tilley Maddox of Lawrenceburg, TN and Tom Tilley of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, Shay Tilley and wife, Stephanie; Troy Burton and wife, Leah; Brian Burton and wife, Lisa; Brittney Brison and husband, Brian; Michelle Snider and husband, Erik; and Tamara Lindsey and husband, Matt; and twelve great-grandchildren.

3/31/12 — Winnie P. Parker

Winnie  P. Parker age 94 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on March 29, 2012 at the Manchester Healthcare Center.

She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ.

She was born on March 1, 1918 in Coffee County, TN to her parents, the late Almond Perry and Annie Spry Perry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Parker; sisters, Hattie Lyons, Anna Mae Perry and Nora Gold; brothers, Louis, Frank, James, Marion and Willie Perry.

She is survived by her children, Jean P. Duncan of Manchester,  Jerry K. Parker and wife Peggy of Manchester,  Linda P. Whittemore and husband Lee of Nashville and Barry D. Parker of Hillsboro; sister, Naola Shelton; brother, A.D. Perry; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 1:00  until 3:00 P.M. at Central Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service was conducted following the visitation at 3:30 P.M. at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

3/31/12 — Gerard J. “Jerry” Mehnert

 Gerard J. “Jerry” Mehnert, age 76 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012 at his home at Fire Lake.

Mr. Mehnert  was a retired Computer Analyst in the Petroleum Industry and a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran.

He was born on May 16, 1935 in New York, New York to his parents, the late William J. Wehnert and Margaret Unger Mehnert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen P. Mehnert, who passed away in 2008.

He is survived by his children, Laura Mehnert Cushing and her husband Michael of Middletown, Delaware,    Edward Mehnert and his wife Brenda of Champaign, Illinois,   Robert Mehnert and his wife Lori of Carrollton, Texas  and  Susan Mehnert-Kay, M.D. and her husband Rick of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; brother, William Mehnert; grandchildren, Stephen Cushing, Elizabeth Cushing and Emily Cushing all of Middletown, DE,  Ryan Mehnert and Kyle Mehnert of Carrollton, TX,   Michelle Mehnert and Peter Mehnert of Champaign, IL ,  and Zachary Kay, Abigail Kay, Jacob Kay and Kathryn Kay all of Broken Arrow, OK; and a host of friends.

The Mehnert Family extends a special thanks to Susan Long for her care and compassion in his final months.

4/1/12 — Imogene Walker Lance

Funeral services for Mrs. Imogene Walker Lance, age 77, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Williams officiating. 

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. 

Visitation with the family with be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 31 at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Lance passed away on Thursday at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Mrs. Lance was born in Scottsville, KY, the daughter of the late E.B. Walker, Sr. and the late Grace Hornback. 

She was employed with Pajama Corporation of America for 32 years.  She was an avid quilter.  During her stay at Manchester Healthcare, Imogene was known as the “puzzle lady” because of her love for working jigsaw puzzles and giving her completed puzzles away.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lance was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnel Hilton Lance, who passed away in 2003. 

She is survived by her five children, Darletta Baltimore of Woodbury, Judy (John) Henson and Debbie (Dwight) Bryan of Manchester, Phyllis (Don) Bowden of Antioch, and Ronnie (Karen) Lance of Manchester; three siblings, E.B. (Alice) Walker, Jr. of Muncie, IN, Geraldine McKinley of Covington, GA, and James (Amelia) Walker of Sheboygan, WI; 16 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

3/31/12 — Patricia Ann Muller

Ms. Patricia Ann Muller, age 81, formerly of Tullahoma, passed away Thursday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.

A native of Antigo, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Galdys Fencil DeHart.

She was a retired accounting representative at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Illinois and was of the Catholic Faith.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, at 1:00 PM at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

3/31/12 — Abimael Contreras Martinez

Funeral Services for Mr. Abimael Contreras Martinez, age 31, of Morrison will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 2 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Francisco Javier Gale and Crisis Evangelist Minister Faye Green officiating.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 30, 2012 from 5 – 9 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

 Mr. Martinez was born January 26, 1981 in San Andres Tlalamac, Atlautla, Mexico.  He was the son of Lucio Contreras Rodriquez of San Andres Tlalamac, Atlautla, Mexico and the late Beatriz Martinez Martinez.

Mr. Martinez worked for Gilley Construction Company of Manchester. He enjoyed both playing and watching Soccer and played in a Soccer League in Tullahoma.

 In addition to his father, he is survived his wife, Stephanie Pinegar Ontiveros Contreras of Morrison; one stepson, Damian Luis Hernandez of Morrison; two stepdaughters, Kristiane Kruz and Yesenia Gisel Ontiveros, both of Morrison; one brother, Cornelio Contreras Martinez of San Andres Tlalmac, Atlautla, Mexico; four sisters, Florencia Contreras Martinez and her husband, Alberto Posos Ernandez of San Andres Tlalamac, Atlautla, Mexico, Sarai Contreras Martinez and her husband, Villarreal Perez of Manchester, Dalila Contreras Martinez and her husband, Felipe Rocha Villalva of Manchester and Priscila Contreras Martinez and her husband, Omar Galisia of San Andres Tlalmac, Atlautla, Mexico; one step-brother, Ronaldo Contreras Martinez of San Andres Tlalmac, Atlautla, Mexico; one step-sister, Esmeralda Contreras Martinez of San Andres Tlalmac, Atlautla, Mexico; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Franklin Donnie and Betty Pinegar of Morrison; two brother-in-laws, Donnie Pinegar and his wife, Tammy of Morrison and Billijoe Pinegar and his wife, Ashley, of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.

3/31/12 — Jackie Lynn Bean

Jackie Lynn Bean, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN at the age of 70.

Mr. Bean formerly worked for the City of Tullahoma Public Works Department and attended the Baptist church. He loved fishing and bowling and was in several leagues.

Mr. Bean was the son of the late John James and Mary Glenda Bean. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Glen Allen Bean and one great-niece, Chasity Marie Wiseman.

Survivors include; two brothers, James Bean and wife Judy of Belvidere and Frank Bean and wife Janice of Tullahoma; three nieces, Mindy Morgan, Melanie Hasson, and Shelia Wiseman; two nephews, Tony Bean and James Eric Bean; and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Bean will be Friday, March 30th, 2012 from 5pm-9pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 31st, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Hice and Bro. Randy Jackson officiating.

3/31/12 — McCoy Hill, Sr.

Mr. McCoy Hill, Sr  90 of Huntland, TN passed March 27, 2012 at Southern TN Medical Center. He is the son of the late Willie Hill Sr and Hattie Johnson Hill.

He was preceded in death by wife,  Annie Laura Hill.

He is survived by son, McCoy Hill, Jr of Huntland, Tn;  grandson, McCoy Jowan Hill of Winchester, TN; sister, Thelma Hill Bunn of Durham, NC. two great grandchildren, Kaylin Alexis Hill and Autumn Faith.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Old Cowan Road Church of Christ with Funeral Services to follow at 1:00p.m. at Old Cowan Road Church of Christ.

3/30/12 — Richard James Noon

Richard James Noon, age 78, of Tullahoma, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the LifeCare Center of Tullahoma.

A native of Tullahoma, he was the son of the late Joe H. and Serrilla Cannon Noon.

He was a retired Maintenance worker in the construction business and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife; Bettye Noon, one daughter; Karen Hunt of Murfreesboro, two grandchildren; Kristi Noon of Tullahoma, and Christopher Smith of Murfreesboro, two great-grandchildren; Ezekiel and Josiah Noon of Tullahoma, sisters; Sara Nash of Brownstown, MI., and Joann Click of Detroit, MI., brothers; Wayne Noon of Southfield, MI., and Alan Noon of Decatur, IL., along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, March 30, 2012, from 12:00PM until 1:00PM, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM with Rev. Theresa Northcutt officiating.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
