5/22/12 — Jane Boatman

Jane Boatman, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, May 19th, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 69.

Mrs. Boatman was born in Tullahoma to the late Russell and Georgia Bentley.

During her life, she worked as a Credit Coordinator for Lowes and was a member of Grundy Street Church of Christ in Tullahoma.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boatman is preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara McAnally and Roberta Golden.

She is survived by her husband, James R. Boatman Jr. of Tullahoma; one daughter, Diana Bisby and her husband Troy of Tullahoma; two sons, Jimmy Boatman of Estill Springs and Lee Edwin Boatman and his wife Lisa of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Milton Bentley and his wife Joyce Ann of Tullahoma and Jerry Bentley of Manchester; three sisters, Joyce Mangrum and her husband J.C. of Normandy, Brenda Stephens and her husband Randy of Winchester, and Nancy Langford and her husband Butch of Normandy; seven grandchildren, Alan and Eric Bisby, Michael (Kayla), Emma, Logan and Sam Boatman, and Steven Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Boatman will be held on Monday, May 21st, 2012 from 5:00-8:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Phillip Davis officiating.

Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 201 West Lincoln Street, Tullahoma, TN 37388.

5/21/12 — Pat Arnold

Pat Arnold, age 71 of Huntland, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012,
at Willows at Winchester. 

He was born May 28, 1940 in Flintville; Charlie and  Ruthie Bell (Walker) Arnold. 

He was a veteran of the US Army and he was
employed by Cubic Transportation in Tullahoma. 

Mr. Arnold was preceded in death
by his wife, Elnora Stratton Arnold, sister, Neva Luttrell, and brothers, James  and Charles Arnold. 

Surviving are step-children, Walter (Donna)Stratton of Belvidere, TN, Tishi (Victor) Tiller of Shelbyville, TN, and Gene Stratton of Tullahoma, TN; brothers, Wayne (Jean) Arnold of Huntland, TN, Bill (June) Arnold of Flintville, TN, Ray Arnold of Flintville, TN and Bobby Arnold of Flintville, TN, sisters, Sue (Wiley) Sisk of Estill Springs, TN, Mary (Jeff) Trimble of  Atlanta, GA, Linda Lee of Murfreesboro, TN and Peggy Arnold of Flintville, TN as
well as several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Shady Grove Cemetery in Flintville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.

5/22/12 — A J Downey Morris

A J Downey Morris, age 81, of Winchester, Tenn. departed this life on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester following an extended illness. 

Mr. Morris was born in Huntland, Tenn. to James and Nellie Stephens Morris. Mr. Morris was of the Baptist faith. 

He was retired from B&M Paving Contractors where he was employed for many years as a roller operator.  Mr. Morris was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his father, James Morris and one brother. 

He is survived by his mother, Nellie Morris of Scottsboro, Ala., son, Billy Ray (Sharon) Morris of Manchester, Tenn., daughters; Patricia (David) Tedder of Crossville, Tenn., Julie (Todd) Gilliam of Decherd, Tenn., eight brothers, seven sisters, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Services for Mr. Morris are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday evening with Bro. Rudy Wilkerson, officiating. 

Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until service time at 2:00.

Interment will follow services at Keith Springs Cemetery with military honors bestowed.

5/21/12 — Elizabeth Frances Atkinson

Elizabeth Frances Atkinson, age 93 of Belvidere, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Southern TN Medical Center in Winchester.

She was born January 15, 1919 in Belvidere; the daughter of the late Lee and Lizzie (Neal) Ruch.

Mrs. Atkinson was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Alexis Atkinson, II, and brothers, Lee Neal and John William Ruch.

Surviving are sons, Henry (Elisa) Atkinson of Lebanon, TN and Richard (Jackie) Atkinson of Belvidere, TN, daughter, Betty Syler of Huntland, TN, seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Rev. Mike Robertson officiating.

Interment will be in Maxwell Cemetery, Belvidere, TN.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.

5/23/12 — Bobbye Kay Ellington

Bobbye Kay Ellington, 59, of Elora, TN, passed away on May 17, 2012.

Bobbye was born October 18, 1952 in North Little Rock.

She is survived by her husband Randy Campbell of Elora, TN; daughter and son-in- law Stephanie and Harold Williams of NLR; daughter Katherine Campbell of Elora; three grandchildren Brailon, Kaleb and Drew Williams; two brothers Richard and William Bird; and her lifelong sister Donna Riley and family.

Bobbye Ellington was blessed with a host of friends, nephews, nieces, cousins and family members too numerous to name but forever appreciated.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Irene Ellington.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Ellibell Farm, 474 Vantown Road, Elora TN 37328.

Mr. Terry Jones, age 55, of Kelso, TN, passed away Friday at Lincoln Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He is a native of Tullahoma and is preceded in death by his Father, Herman Jones.

Mr. Jones was retired from Chrysler.
He is survived by Mother, Gladys Jones, 3 sisters, Diane (Wayne) Allen of Readyville, TN, Brenda Jones (David) Slotman of Kelso, TN and Patricia Jones of Tracy City, TN, Nephews, Jarrett Allen and Josh Thomas, Nieces, Lynnette Simons, Michele Mangrum and Stephanie Thomas.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

5/21//12 — Doris Ann Rogers

Funeral services for Ms. Doris Ann Rogers, age 82 of Manchester will be conducted Monday, May 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Rev. Neal Glass officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rogers passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at 5:59 AM at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was born August 30, 1929, in Kilpatrick, Alabama, the daughter of the late Homer L. and Anne Mabel Bruce Rogers.

Her early education began at Calhoun School, a little one room country school, about five miles north of Manchester off Highway 41.  She was an avid basketball player for Noah Elementary School and graduated Coffee County High School in 1947.  Ms. Rogers attended the University of Tennessee where she met her husband Gordon N. Zane Sr.  She was active in Delta Zeta Sorority and elected honorary ROTC sponsor while there.

Ms. Rogers and her family resided in Greensboro, NC until the mid 1980’s when she relocated to Manchester, TN.  She worked for many years in retail sales at Lauri’s in Greensboro, NC and Henley’s in Manchester.  She enjoyed donating time to the Hospital Auxiliary at the old Coffee County Hospital.  Ms. Rogers was formerly active in the Capt. Calvin C. Brewer 2505 Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Manchester and enjoyed participating in the United Methodist Women’s Fellowship.  She loved spending time with her family, in addition to being an avid bridge player and gourmet cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Fletcher Ward Rogers.

Ms. Rogers was a loving homemaker and mother and is survived by two sons, Gordon Neil Zane Jr. and his wife, Sheryl of Birmingham, Alabama and Gary Rogers Zane and his wife, Lynn of Macon, Georgia; one brother, Dr. Charles L. Rogers and his wife, Mary Lu of Manchester; one sister, Jo Allen Phillips and her husband, Jack of Manchester; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Zane of Birmingham, Brandi Brown and her husband Chad of Birmingham, Jonathan Zane and his wife, Asta of Birmingham and Christina Luczynski and her husband, Kirk of Atlanta, Georgia and seven great grandchildren, Michael and Grayson Zane, Trey, Brady, Wiley and Lizzy Davis and Cecilia Zane.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the First United Methodist Church of Manchester or the American Cancer Society.

5/19/12 — Hilda E. Espinoza

Mrs. Hilda E. Espinoza, age 81, of Tullahoma, passed away Thursday at her residence.

She is a native of El Salvador and a member of St. Paul’s The Apostle Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Lia (Walter) Boyanton of Tullahoma, Patricia (Charles) Bryant of Tullahoma, Gloria Espinoza (Louis) Michel of City of Leon, Mexico, Elena – Espinoza (Frank) Morataya of Tullahoma, Sisters, Alma Alenius of Raleigh, NC, Alba Kiputh of Orlando, FL, Grandchildren, Walter J. Boyanton, Megan Boyanton, Luis R. Michel-Espinoza, Alijandra Michel-Espinoza, Ellen Morataya and Daniel F. Morataya.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

5/13/12 — Ann Thornton Sistrunk Lorne,

Ann Thornton Sistrunk Lorne, age 79, of Winchester, departed this life on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at her residence. 

Ms. Lorne was retired from Brooksfield Regional Medical Center in Brooksfield, Fla. where she was employed as a central supply technician. 

Ms. Lorne was preceded in death by her husband, of 43 years, Eric Olof Lorne, Sr., her parents; Mr. and Mrs. Eldrige Wasington Sistrunk, III (Myrtle), daughters; Judith Margit Lorne and Elizabeth Jo Lorne Hill. 

She is survived by her daughters; Ann Thornton Alexander (James Russell) of Inverness Fla., Victoria Lorne Ferrell (Louis Frank Mloch) of Winchester, Tenn., son, Eric Olof  (Yana) Lorne, Jr. of  Jacksonville, Fla., grandchildren; Ami Marie Adler, James Eric (Sarah Ryan) Ferrell, Julia Ann Petrucci, Jason Barton Mloch, Justin White Hill, Latisha Olmeda Jackson, Alexander Eric Lorne, Irene Rudakov, great-grandchildren, Nicholas M. Adler, Alexander West, Sloane Ryan Ferrell, Sage Blackbull, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on June 16, 2012 at the Episcopal Church of St. Bede, 2500 16th Street North, St. Petersburg, Fla. with the Rev. John Riggle officiating. 

Interment will be in the Weaver Cemetery in East Brewton, Ala.

5/20/12 —- Sara Francis Stowell

Sara Francis Stowell, of Normandy, passed this life on Thursday, May 17th, 2012, at Life Care Center in Tullahoma at the age of 87.

Ms. Stowell was born in Springfield, TN to the late William and Effie Jackson.

She worked as a homemaker and was a member of College Street Baptist Church in Tullahoma. Ms. Stowell loved gardening, sewing, ceramics, crocheting, and crafts.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Stowell; and one sister, Annie Laurie Jackson.

Ms. Stowell is survived by two daughters, Pat Morris of Nashville, Cindy Richards and husband Wayne of Normandy; one brother, John Jackson of Normandy; half-brother, Joe Jackson and wife Sharon of Flintville; step-sister, Leron Tipps and husband Bill of Tullahoma; and three grandchildren, Kenny Highers, Jackie Richards, and Chris Richards.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 19th, 2012, from 5:00-9:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 20th, 2012, at 2:30pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Fisher officiating with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
