6/7/12 — Anna Dell Taylor

Graveside services for Mrs. Anna Dell Taylor, age 88 of Pelham will be conducted at 10am, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Pelham Church of Christ Cemetery with Jeremy Taylor officiating.

Visitation with the Taylor family will be from 5pm until 9pm, Wednesday at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mrs. Taylor passed away Tuesday morning at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Pelham, Tennessee the daughter of the late Sam and Beulah Patton Levan.  She was a nurse for many years at the former Coffee County General Hospital.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William B. Taylor who passed away in 1998.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by:

Her son- Billy Sam Taylor and his wife, Kirkland Weatherly Taylor of Pelham

Two grandchildren- Michael Taylor and Jeremy Taylor.

6/8/12 — Richard Stephen Koslick

Richard  Stephen Koslick, age 65 of Hillsboro, Tennessee, passed away on June 3, 2012 at the Medical Center of Manchester.

He was a retired Packaging Equipment Manager, school teacher for ten years and a professional baseball player for the New York Yankees. He was also a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro, TN; member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge; member of the Scottish Rite; and a member of the Eastern Star #349. Mr. Koslick enjoyed soap making, banjo playing, song writing, motorcycle riding and traveling.

He was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania to his parents, the late Stephen Michael Koslick and Victoria Rabadda Koslick.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Faye Gray Koslick of Hillsboro, TN; daughters, Leah Perhac and her husband Chris of Murfreesboro, TN   and  Amy  Coble of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two sisters, Joanne Nesbitt of Melbourn, FL  and  Elaine Sondrey and her husband George of Avon Lake Park, FL; four grandchildren, Drew Perhac and Ashley Perhac both of Murfreesboro, TN  and Saige Coble and Ashleia Coble both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester.

The Funeral Mass will be conducted on Friday morning, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church  located at 1601 N. Tennessee Blvd., in Murfreesboro, TN 37130.

Burial will follow at the Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Donations be made to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church or the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church.

6/7/12 — Hazel L. Buchanan

Ms. Hazel L. Buchanan, age 85, of Manchester, passed away Monday night at the Manchester Medical Center.

A native of Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna May Reynolds Frizzell.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Nazarene Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Buchanan, Sr., one brother; Clyde Frizzell and one sister; Francis Poarch.

She is survived by one son; Douglas (Glenda) Buchanan, Jr. of Manchester, two daughters; Richelene Yglesias of Tullahoma, and Sue (Bill) Tipps of Estill Springs, 14 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, one sister Pauline Horton, two brothers; Connell (Rachel) Frizzell, and Charles (Marie) Frizzell, and special friends; Tina King and Carrie Bell.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, from 10AM until 1:30PM.

The funeral procession will leave at 1:30PM for a graveside service beginning at 2PM at Concord Cemetery with Bro. James Ericson officiating.

6/8/12 — Nancy Hardaway

Mrs. Nancy Hardaway, age 69, of Tullahoma, passed away Monday at Memorial Health Care in Chattanooga.

She is a native of Tullahoma and the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Brinkley Warren. In addition to her parent she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Hardaway.

Mrs. Hardaway was a member of the Wesley Heights Methodist Church and was a retired nurse at Harton Regional Hospital. Her greatest joy was being known as Grammy to her 5 grand babies, had numerous friends she loved along with her nursing family at Harton.

She is survived by her daughters, Amy Hardaway of Tullahoma, Sue Ann (Scott) Smith of Chattanooga, brothers, Jackie Warren of Beech Grove, Wayne (Laura) Warren of Nolensville, Eddie (Sherry) Warren of Shelbyville, a sister, Becky (Jim) Wills of Burlington, Ontario Canada, grandchildren, Atticus, Owen, Sophie, Holden, Sawyer and was a beloved aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted Friday at 11:00AM at the Wesley Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Fields officiating.

Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

6/4/12 —- William Henlsey

William Henlsey age 81 of Ocoee, Tennessee, passed away June 4, 2012 at the Willows of Winchester.

 Mr. Hensley is a United State Navy veteran where he served in Korea.

Mr. Henlsey leaves behind no relatives just a close friend Clyde Nails.

Private services will be held.

6/6/12 — Martha Lightfoot Powers

MARTHA LIGHTFOOT POWERS, age 83, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, June 4th, 2012 after a lengthy illness at the home of her son.

Ms. Powers was born on September 23, 1928, in Nashville, Tenn., she lived the majority of her life in Winchester, Tenn., and worked briefly at the Arnold Research Organization (ARO). Martha was a member of the First United Metodist Church of Winchester, the Daughters of Confederate Veterans, and the Franklin County Home Demonstration Club. 

Ms. Powers was preceded in death by her parents; Arthur and Dora Lightfoot, sister, Clara Mae Flowers; brother J.T. Lightfoot and her husband Joe Bill Powers. 

She is survived by her son, Donald (Linda) Powers, granddaughter, Heather Powers Winton and great-granddaughter, Erin Winton, all of Winchester. 

Visitation for Ms. Powers will be from 11:00 A.M. until Service time at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 6th in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services in Estill Springs, Tenn., with Bro. John Bell, officiating.

Interment will follow at Winchester Memorial Park, Winchester, Tenn.,

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Compassus of Tullahoma for their invaluable support during Ms. Powers illness.

6/7/12 — Laurence Comerford

Laurence Comerford age 90, passed away June 4, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Comerford is a WWII veteran where he served in the Navy. In 1964 he married the love of his life Florence. He retired from the State of New York where he worked as a Stationary Engineer and moved with his wife to Franklin County, Tennessee.

In his spare time he loved being outside gardening, building things for fun, loved traveling with his family and was fascinated with trains and ships. Mr. Comerford volunteered for meals on wheels. Was a member of Good Shepard Catholic Church and was a life time member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his wife Florence T. Comerford.

Mr. Comerford is survived by his daughter, Terri (Frank) Collis Jr. of Winchester; granddaughter, Elizabeth T. Collins of Winchester; grandson, Braden A. Collins of Winchester.

Funeral mass will be Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1:30pm from the Good Shepard Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5-9pm at Watson-North Funeral Home.

6/6/12 — Wayne Holman

Mr. Wayne Holman, age 54, of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He is a native of Tullahoma and is the son of the late Edward and Alma Lloyd Holman. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Hodge and a brother, Troy Holman.

Mr. Holman was the Owner/Operator of Wayne’s Radiator Service and was a Member of the Body of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Holman of Tullahoma, daughter, Angelia (Bobby) Watson of Tullahoma, son, Christopher Wayne (Tabitha) Holman of Manchester, sisters, Sandy (Mike) Swelfer of Flordia, Debra (Larry) Thomas of Estill Springs, Grandchildren, Haley, Madison, Cassandra, Brennon, Jessica, Alyzabeth, Xavier, KeYante’ and Alissen.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00PM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

6/6/12 — Hattie Orlee Byers Holder

Mrs. Hattie Orlee Byers Holder age 99 of Monteagle, Tennessee passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, at The Bridge at Monteagle where she had been a resident of for the past three years.

She was born in Tracy City on February 27, 1913, a daughter of the late Charlie Byers and Mattie Ethel Davis Byers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Holder; sister, Rosalie Byers; brothers, Claude, Carl, William and Kelly Byers.

She was a longtime member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Monteagle.

She is survived by her daughters, Bettye Parks of Orlando, FL, Doreen Smith of Glen Ellyn, IL and Ruby Nunley of Monteagle; sisters, Virginia Hall and Mary Jennings; brother, Jimmy Byers all of Monteagle, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Reverend Phillip Layne and Reverend Bill James will officiate. Music and songs will be provided by Reverend Bill James and The Mary Bean Singers.

Burial will be in Monteagle Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home of  Monteagle, Tennessee.

6/6/12 — Don Northcutt

Manchester resident and well-known artist, Don Northcutt, died Sunday, June 3rd at Lifecare Center of Tullahoma following an extended illness. He was 80 years old.

 Born April 30, 1932, in Viola, TN, Northcutt was a retired technical illustrator for Arnold Engineering Development Center and served as County Commissioner for 20 years. He is perhaps best known for his historical pen and ink drawings of Coffee County and surrounding counties. Don was also a registered TSSAA official for 20 years.

Northcutt was a member of Red Hill Church of Christ and the son of the late Hugh and Euna Todd Northcutt.

He married March 3, 1952, to Carolyn Hawkins Northcutt. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mike Northcutt and wife Beth of Tullahoma; daughters, Donna Gilbert and husband Steve of Tullahoma; and Jackie Bane and husband Tim of Manassas, VA. Brothers, Rex Northcutt and wife Gail of Shelbyville; and Max Northcutt; sister Anne Hook; sister-in-law, Dean Tensfield; grandchildren, Joseph Northcutt of Nashville; Patrick Ridner of Murfreesboro; Kelly Northcutt Quinn of Johnson City; Scott Duncan of Murfreesboro; two great-grandchildren and several nephews and a niece.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 6th at 10a.m.  at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Pat Allison and Ralph Hart officiating.

Burial will follow at Manchester City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5th from 4p.m. to 8p.m., and  from 8a.m.Wednesday until time of service at Manchester Funeral Home.           

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Associations, Travis Hillis, Executive Director for Butterflies Are Free (hospice @ Life Care Center), or the Coffee County VIP’s (Visually Impaired Persons).
