6/21/12 — Lee R. Hermann

Lee R. Hermann, age 65, passed away into rest on June 17, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer,  at his home in Manchester, Tennessee with his family by his side.

Lee was a fighter and never, never gave up. Lee retired from GTE/Verizon Wireless after 32 years of dedicated serverice as a Service Supervisor.

He was born in Twin Rivers, Wisconson; graduated from Washington High School in 1965; and proudly served a tour of duty in Vietnam in the U. S. Army.  He enjoyed being outside, vacationing at state parks and the beach, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Lee; father, Kenneth W. Hermann; father-in-law, Jake Gottinger; niece, Becky Blashka; nephew, Cory Gottinger; brother-in-law, Terry Peterson.

Lee is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Donna M. Gottinger Hermann of Manchester; daughter, Tammy Sharketti and her husband Stephen of Manchester; two granddaughters, Sarah and Taryn; mother, Beatrice H. Naesar Hermann; sister, Connie Blashka and her family  of Wisconsin; brother, Todd Hermann and his family of Wisconsin; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A special “Thank you” is extended to the staff at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute; Dr. Johanna Bendell and Dee McCombs.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the Faith Lutheran Church located on Wilson Avenue at 101 Bragg Circle, Tullahoma, TN 37388.

The Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Martin S. Nutter, Pastor officiating.

6/19/12 — Jerry Burton

Jerry Burton, age 55 of Lynchburg, Tennessee passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012.
 
He was born on April 17, 1957 in Fayetteville, Tennessee.
 
Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his father Harry Burton Sr., sister Peggy Gattis and son Jeremy Burton.
 
Surviving are mother Bonita (Raby)Rogers of Lynchburg, TN; Sisters Marie (Bobby) Gattis of Lynchburg, TN; Dorothy Heird of Lebanon, TN; Betty Sue (Freddie) Hixson of Shelbyville, TN; and Gracie Hunt of Pulaski, TN; Brothers Terry (Cynthia) Burton and Bug (Virginia) Burton, of Lynchburg, TN; Brother-in-law R.L. Gattis of Lynchburg, TN and nine grandchildren.
 
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Jennings Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Mike Awalt and Rev. Ricky Smith officiating.
 
Interment will be in Lynchburg Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 PM at Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.

6/20/12 — Harlan Ragar Watkins (Jim)

Harlan Ragar Watkins “Jim”, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at his residence at the age of 70.

Born in Lynchburg, Tennessee to the late Thomas and Lettie Watkins, he was a former member of the Downtown Lions Club and the American Legion Post 43. Mr. Watkins was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. During his life, Mr. Watkins worked as a grocer for the Tullahoma Wal-Mart.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Jose Bost; and five brothers, Doyal Watkins, Bill Watkins, Don Watkins, Joe Watkins and Harold Watkins.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Watkins; one daughter, Jennifer Brewer of Tullahoma; one son, Jeremy Watkins and (Kerri) of Henning, TN; four grandchildren, Jaelyn Brewer, Jadin Watkins, Mya Hodges, and Jacia Watkins; one daughter-in-law, Christina Parsons of Morrison, TN; two brothers, C.B. Watkins (Jean), and Jack Watkins (Linda) all of Tullahoma; and one sister, Catherine Adams of Indiana.

Visitation for Mr. Watkins will be held on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm with the funeral Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 at 11:00am in The Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wayne Wester officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

6/22/12 — Donald Bradley Baker

Donald Bradley Baker, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 17.

Bradley was a former football player for Moore County High School and was currently a student at Tullahoma High School.

Bradley is survived by his father, Mike Baker and his companion, Sherri Orr of Tullahoma; mother, Rebecca Tipps of Tullahoma; one sister, Ashley Phillips of Tullahoma; one brother, Ryan Flippo of Shelbyville; 2 step-sisters, Kayla and Megan Orr; one step-brother, Derek Prince; grandparents, Don and Jean Baker of Tullahoma and Roy and Paula Carter of Normandy; Aunts and Uncles, Eileen Scrivner and her husband Mitch of Memphis, David Carter and his wife Jessica of Tullahoma, Lynn Taylor and her husband David and Jennifer McNair and her husband Chip; eight cousins; Paige and Hunter Scrivner, Nicholas Carter, Chase Phillips and Dawson, Christian, and Abigail Carter and Amelia Rose; niece and nephew, Savannah and Cameron Phillips; and his girlfriend, Faith Henley.

Visitation for Bradley will be held on Thursday, June 21st, 2012 from 4:00-8:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

6/20/12 — Seth David Forbord

Seth David Forbord, of Tullahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven on June 16, 2012.

He was 78 years old and is survived by his loving and well-loved wife of 56 years, Margaret. His daughters, who are proud to call him dad, are Velinda (John) McLaughlin of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Monica (Roddey) Rappe of Little Rock, South Carolina. He was Poppa to David (Summer) Branch, Wesley Branch, and Laurel (Dave) Paradise of Murfreesboro, and Eva Rappe of Little Rock. Great-grandchildren include Isabelle and Brianna Paradise, and August Branch.

Dave was born in Clarkfield, Minnesota on February 1, 1934 to Arthur and Helen Forbord. He was the youngest of eight children: Rebecca, Arthur (deceased), Bessie, Esther (deceased), Helen (deceased), Wesley (deceased), and Martha. Dave’s mother died a few days after his birth and his dad, Arthur, asked his sister, Della (William) Forbord Haverly, to raise David with their other children: Ione (deceased), Francis, Margie (deceased), Lois, Verna, and Paul (deceased).

Dave served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He then worked in the drafting and design section at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The family moved to Tullahoma in 1965 where he worked at AEDC for 31 years as a design draftsman and later as a program manager. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. He was a member of the Elk River Long Rifles and an active member of Faith Lutheran Church for 47 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Food Pantry Fund, Campus Life Youth for Christ – PO Box 903 – Murfreesboro, TN 37133, or Young Life of Tullahoma, PO Box 96, or Murfreesboro, PO Box 741.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, June 19, at Tullahoma Funeral Home from 5-7pm. On Wednesday, June 20th, at Faith Lutheran Church, visitation will be held at 10 am with the service beginning at 11 am. Internment follows at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

6/19/12 — Robert Monroe Clark Jr.

Robert Monroe Clark Jr., age 84 of Winchester, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his home.

He was born on January 8, 1928 in Winchester, Tennessee; the son of the late Robert Monroe Clark Sr. and Daisy Mae (Holder) Clark.

Mr. Clark worked for the United States Postal Service and was a Army Veteran who served in the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Clark was preceded in death by four sisters, one brother and a grandaughter, Sabrina Clark.

Surviving are wife Lillie Mae (Warren) Clark; daughter Shelia (Kenneth) Lee of Decherd, TN; sons Mark (Kim) Clark, Michael (Lucinda) Clark and Marty (Stacy) Clark all of Winchester, TN; sisters Lois Dean of Baton Rouge, LA and Matilda (Johnny) Locke of Manchester, TN; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Brother Tim Brown officiating.

 Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens, Winchester, TN.

Visitation will be Monday from 5-9 PM at Moore Cortner Funeral Home.

6/19/12 — Thomas Eric Rutenkroger

Thomas  Eric Rutenkroger, age 49 of Summitville, Tennessee, passed away on June 13, 2012.

Mr. Rutenkroger was a Professor of Mathematics at Motlow State Community College and had taught Mathematics for over 23 years. He enjoyed  teaching, bicycle riding, fishing, water sports and playing his acoustical guitar.

He was born in Orlando, Florida to his parents, Paul E.  and Margret C. Gregory Rutenkroger of Orlando, Florida who survive. He is also survived by his wife,  Donna Jean Vincent Rutenkroger ; brother, David C. Rutenkroger; sister-in-law, Lynda Rutenkroger; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 11:00 a.m.  until  2:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN.

The Funeral Service will follow on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother James Michael Tate officiating.

Burial will be at the Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery.

6/15/12 — Twiliah Grimshaw

Twiliah Grimshaw, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, June 15th, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center, at the age of 80.

No services are planned at this time.

6/16/12 — Orene Hill Perry

Orene Hill Perry, age 93 of Chattanooga, passed away at her home Thursday June 14, 2012.

 A native of Coffee County, she had made her home in Chattanooga most of her life. She was a member of the Cleveland Christian Fellowship and enjoyed quilting and canning and I her earlier years, fishing. She will be remembered as a wonderful person and a lady in every respect.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Perry; daughter, Betty Parkey.

She is survived by her daughters, Lois Oliver of Chattanooga and Patsy Edwards of Cleveland; 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sisters, Jennie Branch, Margie (Richard) Gillespie and Elsie (Johnny) Champion all of Tullahoma; brother, J. M. (Gladys) Hill of Decherd.

The funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday June 16, 2012.

Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery with pallbearers being Kenneth Hill, Bobby Gipson, Richard Gillespie, Ricky Hill, Alton Perry and Owen Walls.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-8 p.m.

6/15/12 — Darrik Wills

Darrik Wills, age 28, of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his home in Murfreesboro.

He was a member of Lifesong Ministries.

Darrik was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Wills.

He is survived by his wife, Brittany Trail Wills of Manchester; son, Blayn Wills of Manchester; mother, Terry Wills of Murfreesboro; sisters, Erica Wills Walker of Murfreesboro; Shawna Barbush of Indiana; brother, Dainin Wills of Murfreesboro; and in laws, Mark and Mary Ann Trail of Manchester.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 15, 2012 from 11:00am until the Funeral service at 1:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Virgil Alford officiating.
