6/28/12 — Lillie Ruth Henley Baker

Lillie  Ruth  Henley Baker, age 83 of Hillsboro, Tennessee, passed away on June 25, 2012 at the Medical Center of Manchester.

She was a retired seamstress, dedicated homemaker and lifetime member of the Rutledge Hill Community Church. She will be fondly remembered as one who loved her family and friends and enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.

She was born in Coffee County, TN to her parents, the late William Alexander “Bud” Henley and Mary Emma Buckner Henley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Wayne Baker; grandson, Stephen Wayne Baker; sister, Mary Emma Henley-Tucker; brothers, Andrew Jackson “Jack” Henley, Luther E. Henley, Paul Henley and James Lewis Henley.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda S. Todd and her husband Joe of Summitville, TN and Robin A. Boyett and her husband Ronnie of the Rutledge Hill Community in Hillsboro; sister, Judy Henley Nabors and her husband Stanley of Hillsboro; brothers, Billy Frank Henley and his wife Hazel, Tom Henley and his wife Nancy, Carl Henley and Clarence Henley and his wife Nona of Hillsboro, TN; four grandchildren, David Boyett (Laura) of Rutledge Hill, Eric Boyett (Jamie) of Rutledge Hill, Joseph Todd (Kelly) of McMinnville and Jason Todd (Melanie) of McMinnville; five great-grandchildren, Amber Gann, Chase Boyett, Drake Todd, Cadi Beth Todd and Matthew Todd;  and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday evening, June 27, 2012 from 6:00  until 9:00 P.M. at Central Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday afternoon, June 28, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Billy Robison officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rutledge Hill Community Church Cemetery.

6/28/12 — John Randall Banks

Funeral services for Mr. John Randall Banks, age 94, of the Noah Community in Coffee County, TN will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Tommy Underwood and Horace Lee Jacobs officiating. 

Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery. 

Visitation with the Banks family will be 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Mr. Banks passed away Tuesday morning at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Banks was born in Coffee County, TN, the son of the late John Solomon and Pearl Thomas Banks.  He was a self-employed farmer and logger.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Noah Church of Christ.  He furthered his education at Nashville Auto Diesel College.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Banks was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Alline Banks Rhea; a son-in-law, Jimmy Howard Rhea; and three brothers, Mervin Raulston Banks, William Alonzo Faulk, and Homer Thomas Banks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cleo Banks, of Manchester; one son, Randy (Dorene) Banks; a daughter-in-law, Pam Rhea; six grandchildren, Allen Banks, Regina (Lance) Hickerson, Jimmy (Anita) Banks, Crystal (Michael) Robison, April Shelton, and Jimmy Rhea; six great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

6/26/12 — Lawrence Lee “Larry” Galigher

Mr. Lawrence Lee “Larry” Galigher, age 75, of Tullahoma, passed away Monday at Harton Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He is the eldest son of Earl Jackson and Violet Pauline Hicks Galigher. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Joe Galigher.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Rose (Osborne) Galigher, son, Larry Michael (Judy) Galigher and daughter, Carrie LeAnne (Glenn) Newton of Tullahoma, step-daughters, Teri Lynn (Lee) Parnell of Willis, Texas, Tina Kay Miller of Monroe, Louisiana, Toni Annette (Johnny Wayne) Michael of Cumming, Georgia, twin grandsons, Jeremy Russell and Joshua Lee Galigher, Glenn Spenser (Candice) Newton, Andrew Lorence Newton, granddaughters, Ashley Jean Galigher, Hilary Lynn Galigher all of Tullahoma, Step grandson, Jarrod (Joalena) Moore of Los Angeles, California, Douglas Ervin Miller of Lafayette, Louisiana, Jamie (Mike) Moore of Bossier City, Louisiana, step granddaughter, Megan Marie Miller of Monroe, Louisiana, great-grandson, Shawn Aldridge of Bossier City, Louisiana, sister, Linda Galigher Johnson of Decatur, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Galigher retired in 1995 from Arnold Engineering and Development Center where he worked for ARO, Incorporated, Calspan Corporation and Micro Craft in several engineering and management positions with the propulsion wind tunnel facility over a span of 35 years.

Mr. Galigher had a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee.

After retirement Lawrence moved to a home on the shores of Tims Ford Lake and spent his time boating and enjoying other recreational activities with family and friends, moving into Tullahoma in 2005.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

The family request donations be made to the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center in Manchester where he was a former Chariman.

6/28/12 — Ilene Rhodes Clayborne

Funeral services for Mrs. Ilene Rhodes Clayborne, age 93, of Manchester will be conducted Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Buck Frazier and Brother Winfred Teal officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clayborne passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Manchester.

She was born August 3, 1918 in Coffee County, TN the daughter of the late Irvin Rhodes and Mary Ara Lusk Rhodes.

 In earlier years, she was employed as a ball sewer with Wilson Sporting Goods in Tullahoma and eventually retired after many years of service.  Upon retirement, she began working as a cook in several local restaurants in Manchester.  One of her favorite past times was quilting.  Over the years, she has shared many of these quilted treasures with family and friends.  She was a member of Hurricane Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Clayborne in 1995; a daughter, Audrey Kimbro; a son-in-law, Shelby Kimbro; a granddaughter, Linda Miller Clark; four sisters,  Mary Louise Rhodes,Velma Bush, Elaine Little, Oneida Holton; three brothers, Archie Rhodes, Irvin Rhodes, Jr., and James Ewing Rhodes.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Shelby Jean Bennett and husband, Pete of Beechgrove, TN; Danny Kimbro and wife, Judy of Flintville, TN; Kippy Kimbro and wife, Linda of Manchester and Brandy Merriman and husband, Sammy of also of Manchester; nine great-grandchildren, Larry E. Miller of Manchester; Erin Keheley and husband, Russell of Manchester; Robert Shawn Kimbro and wife, Traci of Fayetteville, TN; Garrett Kimbro of Flintville, TN and Holly Chase and husband, Jason of Sparta, TN; Renee Kimbro of Manchester; Alicia Witham and husband, Bobby of Estill Springs; Jennifer Raines and husband, Jim of Manchester and Valerie Wilder and husband, Matt of Estill Springs; and several great-great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Ernest Holton of Shelbyville: a special niece, Charlotte Teal of Manchester and several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

6/27/12 —- Ray Branyon “Roho” Coleman

 Ray Branyon “Roho” Coleman, 74 of Hillsboro TN, passed away June 25, 2012.

Ray was born in 1938 in Fayette, Alabama to the late Carl and Elton Coleman.

Ray resided in Nashville for a number of years but moved to the Hillsboro, Tennessee community in 1998.  Ray proudly served in the United States Air Force 10 years. He worked for CSX Railroad, retiring after 35 years.  He was a member of the Bryant Alabama Church of God and was a devout Christian.  He loved Bible study, fishing and playing with his dogs, General Beauregard and Babygirl.

He was preceded in death by parents Carl and Elton Coleman and sister, Carlene Angels.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Coleman; sister, Bamer Dorsey of Maben, Mississippi; son Scott Brewer (Joy) of Ringgold, GA; and daughter, Becky Carroll (Tim) of Soddy Daisy, TN; Grandchildren Sean and Colin Brewer, Terry Barnes, Sarah Williams, and several great grandchildren; special friends Dr. Al Brandon and canine companion Beau.

The family received friends on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 5-8:00 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday morning, June 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Bro. Dee Bethune officiating.

Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.

6/30/12 — Kyle Farris

Kyle Farris age 26, of Memphis, a life-long native of Winchester, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Memphis.

Kyle was born on August 28, 1985 to Timothy and Jeanette Farris. Kyle was a 2003 class graduate of Franklin County High School where he played football and baseball. After graduation he attended the University of Memphis. Kyle worked for AT&T in Memphis in his spare time he enjoyed watching sports on TV, loved hanging out with friends bowling and was an avid x box player.

Kyle is survived by his wife, Trish McGee Farris of Memphis; sons, Tristan Farris of Memphis and Ethan Farris of Winchester; parents, Tim (Jeanette) Farris of Winchester; sisters, Kristina Farris of Winchester, Savanna Farris of Winchester and Sloane Farris of Winchester; maternal-grandparents, Jim (Sylvia) Child of Winchester; paternal grandmother, Linda Farris; maternal great-grandmother, Ida Childs of Winchester; paternal great-grandmother, Margaret Simmons of Winchester.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2pm from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Watson-North Memorial Park with friends and family serving as pallbearers.

6/30/12 — Margaret Noon Carr

Margaret Noon Carr, 79, of Tullahoma , TN passed Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Life Care Center.   She was preceded in death by husband, William Carr. 

She is survived by two  brothers, Elder Jewell D. (Margarite) Noon and  Leonard Lee (Lisa Renee) Noon both of Tullahoma, TN; 

Her favorite niece, Gin Santonia Spaulding  and great niece– Maleah Spauling both of Louisville, KY. 

Host of nieces, relatives and friends.

Visitation– Friday, June 29, 2012 from 6-7pm at J.A. Welton & Son Funeral Home .

She will lie in state Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 1:30-2:30pm at Shorter Chapel AME Church with Funeral Services to follow at 2:30pm with Pastor Elvy Davis officiating and Rev. James A. Crutchfield, Jr  as Eulogist.

6/28/12 — Bettye Sue Bourne Daniel

Bettye Sue Bourne Daniel, -After a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, on Sunday, June 24th, 2012 went home.
Bettye was born September 1st, 1927 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. Happily married to Milton L. Newt” Daniel on August 23rd, 1946, they spent 46 years together, until his death in March 1993. Other family members who preceded her in death include her parents; Lewis Clay Bourne and Frances Peterson Jones Bourne, her brothers; Malcom Myers Bourne, Sam Johnson Bourne, L.C. Bourne Jr., Uncas Lamar Bourne and her two sisters, Nancy Bourne Powers and Frances Bourne MacPherson.
She is survived by her six children; Patrick Lamar Daniel and wife Shirley of Tullahoma, William Bruce Daniel and wife Karen of Franklin, Donald Lee Daniel and wife Jean of Estill Springs, Andrew Bourne Daniel and wife Laura of Tullahoma, Elizabeth “Betsy” Lynes Daniel McCafferty and husband Tom of Gainsville, FL, and Frances Jane “Janie” Daniel Turner and husband Johnny of Murfreesboro. Surviving grandchildren as follows; Cassandra Jean Daniel, Jonathan Patrick Daniel and wife Cassy, William Kyle Daniel, Garrett Anders Daniel, Jennifer Marie Daniel, Clay Edward Daniel, Adam Thomas Daniel, and Abbie Elizabeth Daniel.
Pallbearers include her five grandsons and Lucas Waller.
Bettye was a member of First Baptist Church of Tullahoma, Tennessee since August, 1955, The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) since 1983, Shady Grove Neighborhood Association since 1993 and the Coffee County Senior Citizens since 2001.
While she will be missed by her family and many friends, she had the pleasure of touching the lives of thousands through her gift of baking and cake decorating. Well known as “the cake lady,” Bettye spent 84 years using her gift to brighten the lives of others.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 from 4:00-8:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 28th, 2012 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church, Tullahoma, Tennessee with Dr. J. Herbert Hester officiating.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

6/23/12 — Joe Allen Horn

Joe Allen Horn, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 at his residence at the age of 61.
 
Mr. Horn was born in Prestonburg, Kentucky to the late Joe Wheeler Horn and Eva Allen Hale.
 
During his life, Mr. Horn attended Eastern Kentucky University and later became a Route Representative for Frito Lay. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma, The Tullahoma Nighttime Lions Club and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons.
 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Horn is preceded in death by his step-father, Harmison Hale. He is survived by his wife, Carol Horn of Tullahoma; three daughters, Carolynn Lee and her husband Dustin of Tullahoma, Jennifer Horn of Tullahoma, and Elizabeth Khan and her husband Waqar of Prestonburg, KY; one sister, Sally Elizabeth Rhoads and her husband Bill of Lexington, KY; and three grandchildren, Abram Keaton Lee, Arabella Sole Alexis Lee, and Jamie Suzanne Horn.
 
Visitation for Mr. Horn will be held on Tuesday, June 26th, 2012 from 5:00-8:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.
 
Visitation will also be held at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home in Martin Kentucky from 5:00-8:00pm on Thursday June 28th, 2012, and services at 11:00am Friday, June 29th, 2012 at the Nelson-Frazier Chapel.
 
Burial will follow in the Richmond Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Margaret Amos, age 82, of Tullahoma, passed away Sunday at Harton Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Hazel Green, Alabama and the daughter of the late Jonnie and Ethel Mears Preston. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Amos, grandson, Seth Amos, sister, Martha Lawson and a brother, Ralph Preston.

She is survived by 2 sons, David (Barbara) Amos of West Palm Beach, FL, Dwight (Debbie) Amos of Tullahoma, 2 sisters, Ruth Landers of Shelbyville, Thelma Overcast of Shelbyville, brother, James Preston of Huntsville, AL, grand-daughters, Angie (Jason) Baker of Shelbyville, Ambre (Shane) Holloway of Tullahoma, great grandchildren, Haylee, Caleb and Lauren Holloway of Tullahoma and Drew and Christian Baker of Shelbyville.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, from 12:00PM until 2:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00PM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Elbert Smith officiating.
