7/3/12 — Infant Judy Elaine Bombich

Infant Judy Elaine Bombich entered in to heavenly rest on June 27, 2012 at Erlanger in Chattanooga.

Judy was born on June 27, 2012 to her loving parents Mary Barbour and Anthony Bombich. Judy is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Lisa Pease of Beechgrove, TN; maternal grandfather, Dan Woodman of Wearham, Mass; paternal grandfather, Gary Bombich of Southbend, IN; uncles, Robert Woodman of Wearham, IN, Christopher Pease of Decherd, TN, Kyle Bombich of Southbend, IN; and a host of other relatives.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 2pm from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Watson-North Memorial Park.

Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.

7/1/12 — James V. Winton

James  V. Winton,  age 67 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on June 27, 2012 at the Medical Center of Manchester.

James was the owner of James’ Book Store in Manchester and will be fondly remembered as a friend of everyone. He was a member of the Forest Mill Church of Christ.

He was born on March 31, 1945 in Manchester, TN to his parents, the late Vernon Winton and Juanita Anderson Winton.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly D. Winton-Lyall and her husband Daniel of Tullahoma, TN; sisters, Faye Simmons and her husband J.D. of Manchester,TN  and “special sister” Carolyn Hollingsworth of Manchester; two grandchildren, Megan Rian Maxey and Nathan Grant Lydall of Tullahoma, TN; nephew, Jeff Simmons of Manchester, TN; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 5:00  until 8:00 P.M. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brothers Chris Boyce and Benny Benjamin officiating.

Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hillsboro.

6/29/12 — Edith Marie Parsons

Edith Marie Parsons, age 96 of Estill Springs, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.

She was born November 21, 1915 in Reader, West Virginia; the daughter of the late Earl and Jane (Conley) Feiss.

She was also a former resident of Charleston, OH. Mrs. Parsons was employed by Kent State University in Ohio as a receptionist. She was a member of the Estill Springs First United Methodist Church, past matron of the Palmyra Chapter #114 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Dorcas Rebecca Lodge #88 in Manchester, TN, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Manchester Lodge #207.

Mrs. Parsons was preceded in death by her husband, Hurdie C. Parsons, and brothers, Leland, Edgar, Fred and Edwin Feiss.

Surviving are son, Fred (Margaret) Parsons of Iuka, IL, daughter, Patricia Parsons of Estill Springs, TN, sisters, Ruby Meyo of Cincinnati, OH and Mildred Keith of Dataw Island, SC; grandchildren, Rebecca Parsons of Mobile, AL and Brad Parsons of Livermore, CA.

A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Rev. Joe Rutledge officiating.

Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens, Winchester, TN.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave. NW, Winchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Estill Springs First United Methodist Church.

6/30/12 — Darlene Rae Barber

Darlene Rae Barber, age 64 of Decherd, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at her home.

She was born October 6, 1947 in Harvey, Illinois; the daughter of the late Theodore and Helen (Luecke) Hoover.

She was the office manager for Covenant Technology in Spring Hill, TN. Mrs. Barber was a member of the Decherd First United Methodist Church and a yellow belt in karate.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Taylor, Brother, Harold R. Hoover, Sr., and great-nephew, Chase Richard Allen Hoover.

Surviving are husband, Ron Barber of Decherd, TN; son, Robert David (Lyndi) Taylor of Spring Hill, TN; daughter, Brandy Darlene Loewenstein of Winchester, TN,; brothers, Bob Hoover of Park Forest, IL and Jim Hoover of Lansing, IL; sister, Barbara Miloneck of Mesa, AZ and five grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Marston officiating.

Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Flintville, TN.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester.

6/28/12 — Gerald “Jerry” Hamilton

Gerald “Jerry” Hamilton, age 67 of Moore County passed away Saturday June 23, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.

A native of  Jefferson County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late T.T. and Bertha Lee Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton was a member of the Bethelhem Baptist Church in Louisville,Ky, He was retired from Jack Daniel Distillery where he was Head Distiller.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hamilton of Moore County; sons, Thomas Brett Hamilton of Murfreesboro and Gerald Brice Hamilton of Louisville, KY. Grandchildren; Anna, Jack and Charlee;step-grandchildren, Brittany, MaKayla and Nathan. Brother, Ted Hamilton of Frankfort, KY and sister, Sandra Jones of Addison, TX.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-8 P.M. at the Lynchburg Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday from the chapel of Lynchburg Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Lee officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

7/2/12 — Reginald Todd Morris

Reginald Todd Morris, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, June 25, 2012.

Reginald was born to Reuben Daniel Morris Jr. and Alfredia Anne Blackwell Morris on June 16, 1972.

Reginald confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Cowan, Tennessee under the direction of the late Reverend Nathaniel Woods. Reggie had an extraordinary knowledge of the scriptures. Over the years Reggie worshiped in several different places in Tennessee, (Cowan, Winchester and Memphis), Georgia and Michigan.

Reginald is a graduate of Franklin County High School. After high school he attended Motlow Community College in Tullahoma; Morehouse College in Atlanta and Memphis School of Law in Memphis. Reginald was a part of the Management of BMG Global Enterprises, LLC.

Reginald is preceded in death by his loving and caring father, Reuben Daniel Morris Jr. and his loving and caring brother, Reuben Daniel Morris III.

Reginald leaves to cherish his memory a loving and caring mother, Alfredia Morris; loving and caring sister, Darla Querida (Marcus) Taylor Sr; nephews, Marcus Taylor Jr. and Nathaniel Taylor; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be Monday, July 2, 2012 at 12pm location will to be decided. Interment will follow in Watson-North Memorial Park with friends and family serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

6/28/12 — MARION THOMAS “PORK CHOP” ANDERSON,

MARION THOMAS “PORK CHOP” ANDERSON, age 68, of Decherd, departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Southern Tenn. Medical Center in Winchester, Tenn. 

He was born in Winchester, Tenn. to the late Hubert and Ruby Anderson. 

Mr. Anderson was employed for many years as a meat butcher before he was employed at the Franklin County Board of Education as a custodian where he retired from.  He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Shelbyville.  He also served in the Army National Guards.  Mr. Anderson was a former member of the Dixieland Street Rods and also a former C.B. radio user as you can guess that is where his “nickname” came from “pork chop” was his handle.  Mr. Anderson was a loving and devoted, husband, brother, father and grandfather. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Anderson and sister, Lida Boswell. 

He is survived by his wife, Sue Anderson of Decherd, son, Troy (Tonya) Anderson of Shelbyville, Tenn., sister, Sarah Ashby of Decherd, granddaughter, Stephanie Anderson and niece, Melissa Prince of Manchester. 

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. 

Services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Jason Williams, officiating. 

Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.

6/28/12 — CATHERINE CONN MAHAFFEY TIDWELL

CATHERINE CONN MAHAFFEY TIDWELL, age 78, of Tullahoma, Tenn., formerly of Winchester, departed this life on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. 

She was a homemaker.  Ms. Tidwell was of the Pentecostal  faith.  

Ms. Tidwell was preceded in death by her parents; Tobb and Annie Conn, husbands; Buck Mahaffey and Paul Tidwell and a son, Gary Mahaffey. 

She is survived by her sons; Bobby (Beth) Mahaffey of Columbia, Tenn., Lonnie Mahaffey of Lexington, Tenn., Larry Mahaffey of Chattanooga, Tenn., daughter, Shirley Russell of Manchester, sister, Christine Clark of Chicago, Ill.  14-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd, Tenn., with Bro. Philip Swinford, officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 on Thursday prior to the service.

6/29/12 — Martha Ann Moore Walker

Martha Ann Moore Walker, age 65 of Winchester, passed away at her home Tuesday June 26, 2012.

She was a 1964 graduate of Franklin County High School.  She later attended Tennessee Tech where she studied fashion design She worked for Fuji Photo Lab until her retirement in 2009.  She adored her grandchildren and spent countless hours riding them around on her golf cart.  She attended the Church of Christ.

She was the daughter of  J.C. Moore who precedes her death.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Harry Walker, Sr.; mother, Marie Gunn Moore ; son, Billy (Jolene) Hasty, all of Winchester.  Step-sons, Harry “Skeeter” (Kelly) Walker, Jr. of Estill Springs and Jeff (Kim) Walker of Houston, TX; step-daughter, Leoma (Bill) Peter of Goldsboro, NC; sisters, Donna Roper, Linda (Larry) Jones and Susan “Pat” Van Santen, all of Winchester; grandchildren, Leslee and Kailin Hasty; step-grandchildren, Lance, Brandon,, Tyler & Sarah Walker and Garrett & Clayson Peter; nieces, Heather (Craig) Eslick of Winchester and Christina (David) Alcorn of Murfreesboro; nephew Jeff (Tasha) Roper of California; great nephews, Camden, Cason, Cooper Eslick and Logan roper.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday June 29, 2012 from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Glann Lee officiating.

Interment will follow at Watson-North Funeral Home.  Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Eslick, Harold Walker, Jr., David Alcorn, David Moore, Larry Jones, Grady Gunn, Glen Moore, Hr. and Larry Cole.

Visitation will be Thursday evening June 28, 2012 from 5-9 p.m.

6/28/12 — Barbara Roberson

Barbara Roberson, age 79 of Belvidere, TN., passed away at her home surrounded by her family. 

A native of Brooklyn, NY she was a registered Nurse.  She trained at Jewish Brooklyn Hospital where she graduated second in her class.  She lived in Brooklyn, NY for many years then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL for a warmer climate and to be near family.  Following her retirement from nursing in 1998 she moved to Waynesboro, NC and made her home with her youngest daughter, Susan.  In 2008 she moved to Belvidere where she made her home with another daughter, Donna. 

Mrs. Robertson was a devoted Roman Catholic and a member of the Good Shepherd Church.  She will remembered as a woman who enjoyed every aspect of life to the fullest, who enjoyed shopping and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who had an optimistic outlook on life. 

Mrs. Robertson is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Baker Klaskin and her father, Jack Klaskin; a brother, Richard Klaskin; her first husband, John S. Fahey (who was Director of Parks and Recreation in the City of Pembroke Pines, FL).   

She is survived by daughters, Lonnie Fahey Wines of Buford, GA, Donna Fahey (Carl) Soderlin of Belvidere, TN Laura Fahey of New Galilee, PA and Susan Fahey Pelletier of Waynesboro, NC; brother, Bruce (Judy) Klaskin of Dover, PA; grandchildren, Taryn  & Tyler John Soderlin, Joseph & Daniel Pelletier and Ryker Wines. 

A Funeral Mass will be conducted from Good Shepherd Church at 11 a.m. Thursday June 28, 2012. 

Interment will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park.  Serving as pallbearers will be Taryn &Tyler Soderlin, Joseph & Daniel Pelletier, Ryker Wines and Carl William Soderlin. 

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening, June 27, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home.
