11/21/12 — Willie Pearl Francis

Mrs. Willie Pearl Francis of Decherd, TN passed Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Willows at Winchester.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Henry Francis;    sister, Thelma Childress; daughter, Cynthia Whitaker and grandchild, Clifford (Tiger) Whitaker, Jr.

She is survived by two great- granddaughters, Alexandria Zernobia and Ezra Elizabeth Whitaker;
granddaughter-in-law, Daphne Williams Whitaker; step grandson, Devereau Williams all of Memphis, TN; niece, Carolyn (Clay) Perkins of Shelbyville, TN; sister-in-law, Fannie Hubbard of Cleveland, Ohio;  Nephews, Larman (Annie Ruth) Francis, Jr of Decherd, TN; Benjamin (Juanita) Francis of Detroit, MI; Clark (Earline) Francis, Decherd, TN; Niece, Janie (Kelvin) Corn of Winchester, TN; a large of number of great-nieces, nephews and cousins; devoted friend, Lena Baker of Winchester, TN; her church family and host of friends.

Visitation, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at MT. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with  Funeral Services to follow at 1:00pm at MT. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with  Rev. John Patton officiating and Pastor James Johnson as Eulogist.

11/21/12 — Donnie Lee Nunley

Donnie Lee Nunley age 42 of Manchester passed away Sunday evening, Nov. 18, 2012, at Medical Center of Manchester.

He was a native of Franklin County and was preceded in death by his father, Joe Nunley; maternal grandfather, Frank Ogelvie; paternal grandparents, Silas Carl and Pearlie Nunley.

Donnie worked as a drywall hanger in the construction business, he loved nature, being outdoors fishing or four wheeling and most of all being with his family. He once told his mother he wanted a new car and to his surprise he was given a brand new “Hot Wheels” car every year by his mother.

His is survived by his wife, Melissa Barnes; mother, Pam Nunley Gould; sister, Christi Nunley Zahan; niece, Emily Zahan; nephew, Ryan Zahan; great-niece, Olivia Garrett; maternal grandmother, Essie Mae Ogelvie all of Manchester; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Bobby McBee and Reverend David Statum officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Pelham.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

11/21/12 — Juanita Lucille Baker Steele

Juanita Lucille Baker Steele, of Decherd, passed this life on Sunday, November 18th, 2012 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester at the age of 86.

Mrs. Steele was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee to the late Jack and Elma Beavers. She was a member of the Holiness Faith Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Steele is preceded in death by one son, Rusaw Herrin; one sister, Virginia O’deare; one grandchild, Jerry Taylor; two brothers, Larry Beavers and Bill Beavers; and two husbands, Jimmy Herrin and Robert Baker.

Mrs. Steele is survived by her husband, Sonny Steele of Decherd; two daughters, Frances Bennett of Bell Buckle; Elwanda Master and husband James of Estill Springs; one adopted daughter, April Johnson of Florida; three sons, Rodney Baker of Tullahoma, Phillip Baker of Manchester, Chris Baker also of Manchester; three sisters, Jackie Wallace of Panama City, FL, Jean Medford of Estill Springs, Darlene Stewart of Keith Springs; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Steele will be held on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-9:00pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 21st, 2012 at 12:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Riddle officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

11/20/12 — Edith Roselle Minor Farrar

Edith Roselle Minor Farrar, age 77, of  Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Medical  Center of Manchester.
She was a retired Seamstress with Eden Industries, Inc.,  Colonial Shirt, Inc. and the Star Union Plant (later known as PCA Apparel  Industries, Inc.).
She was born in Merced, California to her parents, the late  Euless Minor and Leota Foster Minor and was preceded in death by her brothers,  Roy Minor and Bud Minor; and great-granddaughter, Chelsea Chappell.
Edith played  the piano and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Manchester.
She is  survived by her husband, Horace L. Farrar of Manchester, TN; children, Kerry  Farrar (Ginny), Christy Swanson and Lori Shelton (Mark) all of Manchester, TN;  sisters, Loretta Carter and Francis Davis (Jack) both of Manchester, TN;  brothers, Eldon Minor of Merced, CA and Donald Minor (Carolyn) of Winchester,  TN; ten grandchildren, Adam Seivers, Cody Seivers, Carla  Swanson Trail,  Jenna Swanson Morris, Daniel Shelton, Steven Shelton, Jacob Farrar, Nikki Jo  Sain, Raechel Eller and Rebecca Simon; great-grandchildren, Elijah Seivers,  Keena Seivers, Emily Seivers, Logan Shelton, Brayden Trail, Cayden Trail, Dylen  Trail, Carter Trail, Destin Morris, Raleigh Parkison, Johnny Eller, Jack Eller,  Colter Simon and Carter Simon; and a host of other relatives and friends. 
Visitation will be on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 5:00  until  8:00  p.m.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 1:00  p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with  Brother Steve Minor and  Brother Darin Minor officiating.

11/20/12 — Louise Fergusson

Mrs. Louise Ferguson, age 66, of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday Life Center of Tullahoma.

She is a native of Tullahoma and is the daughter of the Dorris and Edna Hammers Webb.

Mrs. Ferguson was surrounded her family when she passed away.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Ferguson of Tullahoma, daughters, Ronda (Dale) Morris of Tullahoma, Robbie (Larry) Cates of Tullahoma, son, Ronnie (Robin) Ferguson of Normandy, brother, Michael (Rita) Waye of Winchester, sister in law, Nancy Waye of Huntsville, grandchildren, Jeffery and Jennifer Cates, Kody Morris, Rachel and Rylee Ferguson, great grandchildren, Alexis Winton and Amiyah Pickett.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, from 11:00AM until 2:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

 Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00PM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Hice officiating.

11/19/12 — Robert Houston Burt, Sr.

Robert Houston Burt, Sr., age 75, of Estill Springs passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, Tenn. following surgery.

Mr. Burt was born in Tullahoma, Tenn. to the late Henry Houston and Mary Alice Buchanan Burt. He graduated from Tullahoma High School in 1955, then he went to work for AERO at Arnold Engineering Development Center. He married Earline Waggener Burt in 1956. After working for two years he left AEDC to attend Tennessee Tech University, graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then went to work at AERO as a full-time engineer. He worked at AEDC for 40 years working for AERO, Calspan, then Micro Craft. He worked on projects such as the Apollo and Space Shuttle projects. He ran in 1980 for membership on the Board of Directors at then AEDC Federal Credit Union, now Ascend Federal Credit Union. He remained an active member of the Board at the time of his death. He was appointed chairman of the Tennessee Credit Union league. Mr. Burt was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma, Tenn. where he was a Deacon serving as one of the senior members of the board. Mr. Burt was also a private pilot and owned his own airplane.

He is survived by his wife, Earline Waggener Burt, of Estill Springs, three children, Debra (Joe) Varner of Bowling Green, Ky., Bob, Burt, Jr., and Greg (Thesa) Burt all of Tullahoma. Five grandchildren, Katelyn Varner, Houston Burt, Logan Burt ,Hayley Burt, and Gage Burt. Other survivors include his half-sisters Kathy Escue and Betty Jane Winton.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 P.M. Sunday evening November 18th at Tullahoma First Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 19th at Tullahoma First Baptist Church with Dr. Herb Hester officiating.

Internment will follow in Turkey Creek United Methodist Church cemetery in Moore County, Tenn.

11/21/12 — Linda Jean Martin

Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda Jean Martin, age 70 of Estill Springs will be conducted at 2:00pm, Wednesday, November 21 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitaiton with the Martin family will be from 10am until service time Wednesday at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martin passed away Friday evening at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

 

Mrs. Martin was born in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of the late Sam Edward Anderson and Viola Duncan Anderson. She was retired from the Aladdin Company and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Martin traveled to Ireland to attend the Special Olympics that a grandchild participated in. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Wayne Martin and by a grandchild, Patrick Buckner. Mrs. Martin is survived by:

11/18/12 — Kenneth R. King, Sr

Mr. Kenneth R. King Sr., age 80, of Tullahoma, passed away Friday at Harton Regional Medical Center.

He is a native of Peytona, WV and is the son of the late Isaac and Irene King. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Josephine King and a son Kenneth R. King Jr. Mr. King retired from the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Tullahoma.

He is survived by a daughter, Belinda King of Tullahoma, sons, Joseph (Patricia Ann) King of Gallipolis, OH, John (Pam) King of Manchester, brother, Franklin D. King of NC, sister, Lorana Clemens of WV, grandchildren, Stephen, Cassie, Christopher and Sarah King, great grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, Jacob, Emma and Landon.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, from 2:00PM until 3:00PM at the First Church of the Nazarene.

Services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00PM at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Elbert Smith officiating.

11/18/12 — Ruby L. Rogers

Mrs. Ruby L. Rogers age 83 of Payne’s Cove near Pelham, Tennessee passed away on Friday morning, November 16, 2012, at Medical Center of Manchester. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ann Reed; husband, Joe H. Rogers; son, Bobby Joe Rogers.

Survivors include her children, Calvin Rogers of Murfreesboro, Ricky Rogers of Gruetli-Laager, Mark Rogers of Payne’s Cove, Wanda Gallagher of Alto and Mae Jackson of Winchester; grandchildren, Melanie, Stephanie, Derrick, Heather, Holly, Lane, Cameron Jade, Cody and Dustin; 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Payne’s Cove Church with Reverend James Smith and Reverend Pat MaGouirk officiating. Burial will follow in Payne’s Cove Cemetery. 12/18/12 — Edith Vera Newman Love

Edith  Vera Newman Love, age 88, passed  away on November 12, 2012 at her home in Manchester, Tennessee with her  daughter, friends and family by her side.
Mrs. Love was born September 26, 1924 in Thornton  Heath, Surrey, England to her parents, the late William John Newman and Camelia  Freida Newman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Gordon Love and  brother, Ronald William Newman. Edith met her husband, Gordon, in London,  England in 1944 when she was assigned as a civilian to work with Gordon’s U.S.  Army Signal Corps unit operating teletype machines immediately prior to D-Day. 
They were married in July 1945 at St. Lawrence Church in Morden, Surrey,  England. She arrived in the United States on April 1, 1946 aboard the USS  President Tyler. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Barnabas’ Episcopal  Church in Tullahoma, TN where she was active in the Order of the Daughters of  the King. She was also a long-time member of the Manchester FCE Club; she was  involved in Girl Scout activities for over 20 years; and she was a member of the  Girl’s Night Out Quilting Society in Tullahoma. Edith enjoyed reading, quilting,  sewing and needlework.
Mrs. Love is survived by her daughter, Linda Marie Love  of Manchester, TN; sister-in-law, Pam Newman of Welwyn Garden City,  Hertfordshire, England; niece, Carole Newman Hopkins of Bengio, Hertfordshire,  England; nephews, Paul Newman of Colchester, Essex, England  and   Derek (Sharon) Newman of Edmonton, London, England; and a host of other  relatives in England and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 18,  2012 from 1:00 p.m.  until 2:00 p.m. at the St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church  in Tullahoma with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be at  the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. 
In lieu of  flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the St. Barnabas’ Restoration Fund;  the Mary E. Norton Chapter of the Daughters of the King at St. Barnabas’  Episcopal Church; the St. Barnabas’ Outreach Activities or the Manchester  Public Library.
