11/27/12 — Annie Ruth Bateman

Mrs. Annie Ruth Bateman, age 80, of Lynchburg, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Sullenger and Lucy Jean Sullenger. Mrs. Bateman was a homemaker and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jack Bateman of Lynchburg. Son, Danny Bateman and his wife Teresa of Lynchburg. Grandchildren, Daniel Bateman and his wife Jenny and Barry Bateman and his wife Lindsay. Great-grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Jaycie, Jack and Abbie.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 26 from 4:30- 8:00 at Lynchburg Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, at 2 :00 P.M. at Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Parks officiating.

Burial will follow in the Smith Chapel Cemetery.

11/26/12 — Blueford Arthur “B.A.” Niles

Funeral services for Mr. Blueford Arthur “B. A.” Niles, age 81 of Manchester, will be conducted Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Manchester with Rev. Neal Glass officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Niles passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

Mr. Niles was born October 30, 1931 in Wise County, Virginia, the son of the late Blueford Arthur and Oma Franks Evans. Mr. Niles was adopted from the Holston Orphanage in Greenville, TN and raised by the late Earl Lee and Dora Lucille Niles. He was a U S Air Force veteran serving from 1951 – 1954 as a Buck Sgt. Airman 1st Class. Mr. Niles retired from AEDC as a Craft Supervisor working at the PWT for 36 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Manchester.

In addition to his biological and adoptive parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Morris Niles who passed away March 24, 2012; one son, Eric Niles; one brother, Cecil Evans; two sisters, Gaynell Royston and Betty Vaughan and one step grandchild, Perry Flowers.

Mr. Niles is survived by one son, Alan Niles of Manchester; one daughter, Cindy Belew of Cleveland, TN; four grandchildren, Eric Niles Jr, Annie Niles, Rachel Belew and Christopher Belew; one step grandchild, Misty Lucas and one sister Loretta Anderson of Piedmont, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the American Heart Association.

11/24/10 —- Robbie Raines

Mrs. Robbie Raines, widow of Cecil Clark Raines, of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. She was 92.

She was the daughter of the late, Marvin E. Gambill and Lillian M. Gentry Gambill. She was a member First Methodist Church and was affiliated with Contact Life Line for many years. She lived her life as a Christian Lady no matter what the situation was and was very helpful to people in their times of need. She was well known for her volunteer work with numerous organizations in the Coffee County area. She enjoyed reading and was an avid gardener. Retired from Bellsouth Telephone office after 35 years of service.

She is survived by her cousins, Avalene Cass and Mary Jo Peters and a host of many friends

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 12-1:30 P.M. at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 2 P.M. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Esther Sims officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Clark and Robbie Raines Scholarship Foundation, c/o Southern Community Bank in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

11/29/12 –Roy Thomas Gilbert

Mr. Roy Thomas Gilbert, age 71, of Manchester, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012. .

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel at 7p.m.with Brother Bennie Benjamin officiating.

Visitation with the family will begin at 5p.m. until time of service.

Mr. Gilbert was born on February 22, 1941, to the late Reed Gilbert and Cleo Carroll Gilbert in Manchester, TN, and was in the United States Air Force in the Korean War. He was employed as a truck driver.

Mr. Gilbert is survived by his son John Thomas Gilbert of Manchester, sister, Frances Armitage and brother Reed Gilbert, both of Tullahoma.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilbert is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Gilbert.

11/24/12 — Teresa Annette Brittingham

Teresa Annette Brittingham, passed this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, November, 21st, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 54.

Ms. Brittingham is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Fane Tucker.

She is survived by her father and step-mother, Ralph and Ruby Jo Tucker of Tullahoma; one daughter, Nicole Gray and her husband Dave of Antioch; one son, Chris Taylor of Chattanooga; one brother, Randy Tucker and his wife Rita of Tullahoma; two grandchildren, Alexander Michael Mathewson and Autumn Cheyenne Talley; and one niece, Julie Tucker of Tullahoma.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 24th, 2012 from 2:00-4:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at 4:00pm.

11/21/12 — Opal Lee Alcocer

Ms. Opal Lee Alcocer, age 77, of Manchester, passed away Monday at her residence.

She was a native of Fayetteville, TN and the daughter of the late Charlie Price and Nancy Mae Childers. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by a son, Vick Alcocer and a sister, Elsie Grant.

She is survived by her children, Adam (Elizabeth) Alcocer of Belton, TX, Eve (Leo) Mitchell of Tullahoma, Jeanne (James) Warren of Tullahoma, Mark (Stacey) Alcocer of Tullahoma, Nick (Amanda) Alcocer Jr. of Tullahoma, Brenda (David) Bell of Tullahoma, Roger (Kathy) Thompson of Estill Springs, Rebecca Rodriguez of Lake Station, IN, Sarah Kaiser of Portgage, IN, Sue Gadness of TX, Jane Raby of Shelbyville, siblings, Doris (Lenzie) Kasinger of Maynard, AR, Mary Anthony of Manchester, G.W. Price of Tullahoma, Caregiver and granddaughters, Tabatha Warren and Ashley Steele, 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00AM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel Dr. J. Herbert Hester officiating.

11/23/12 — Mabel Elizabeth Baltimore

Mrs. Mabel Elizabeth Baltimore, age 80, of Tullahoma, passed away Tuesday at Life Care Center in Tullahoma.

A native of Franklin County, Tennessee, she is the daughter of the late Charlie and Leona Panter Baltimore. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Winfred Baltimore, her brother Wesley Vetitoe, and a daughter Vicky Lynn Baltimore. She was a homemaker and a member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son Willis Baltimore of Tullahoma and a daughter Teresa (Doyle) Coleman of Madison, AL. In addition to her children she is survived by two brothers Don Vetitoe of Gulf Port, Mississippi and Howard (Marie) Vetitoe of Tullahoma, two sisters Caroline Perry of Decherd, Tennessee and Dorothy (Melvin) Allison of Florida.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted Friday at 2:00PM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

11/23/12 — Marie Kathleen Sartain

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Kathleen  Sartain, age 55 of Manchester will be conducted at 2pm, Friday, November 23 at  the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Hart officiating. 

Visitation with the Sartain family will  be from 10am, until service  time Friday at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Sartain passed away Wednesday, November 21 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

 

Mrs. Sartain was born in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Ellie Hue  Wise and Anna Sanders Wise.  She was  a homemaker and worked diligently raising her children and helping with her  grandchildren.  In addition to her  parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Wise.

11/19/12 — Joanne V. Ebgerhardt Wolf

 Joanne V. Eberhardt Wolf, age 84 of Tullahoma, Tennessee, passed away on November 19, 2012 at the Harton Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Sterling, Illinois to her parents, the late Joseph Leroy Eberhardt and Nellie Tubbs Eberhardt and was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Wolf and sister, Helenmae Manon.

Mrs. Wolf was a retired Real Estate Escrow Officer; Site Director for “Meals On Wheels” in Coffee County, TN for several years; member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Tullahoma and was a piano accompanist at various local churches.

She is survived by her children, Wendy Reeve (Bill) of Bristol, RI, Kathy Halkin (Hubert) of Idyllwild, CA, Jacque Wood (Bill) of Fayetteville, NC, Scott Wolf (Audrey) of Tullahoma, TN and Brian Wolf (Barbara) of Tullahoma, TN; nephew, Myk Manon (Lupe) of Kissimmee, FL; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; grand-nephew, Jacob Manon; and a host of friends.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Covenant Presbyterian Church at 1610 Wilson Avenue in Tullahoma.
