4/11/14 —- William Henry “Bill” Jones

Mr. William Henry “Bill” Jones, age 66, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Maudie Jones, Walter “Preacher” and Martha Jones, three brothers, Buck Jones, J.B. Jones, and Jim Jones, and two sisters, Laura Coffelt and Barbara Jones.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Louise Jones of Manchester, Tennessee, two sons, Sean Ducker and wife, Tricia, of Mechanicsville, Maryland and Michael Ducker and wife, Deborah, of Navarre, Florida, four sisters, Jean Spry and Ruby Shelton, both of Manchester, Tennessee, Dean McMasters and husband, Hardy, of Estill Springs, Tennessee and Brenda Campbell and husband, James, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, three brothers, B.J. Jones and wife, Ruth, and Gary Jones and wife, Becky, and Roy Cheney, all of Manchester, Tennessee, six grandchildren Justin, Cody, Cali, Caelan, Peyton, and Carson, and one great grandchild, Liam.

Mr. Jones was a Deacon and member of the Victory Baptist Church of Manchester. Bill cherished his grandchildren, his family, and his greatest joy came when he was helping others. He treasured his time working in the yard, collecting knives, and working puzzles. His memory will be forever embraced and revered by his family and friends who loved him.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Keith Nunley and Brother Scott Bradford.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.flower10

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Victory Baptist Church of Manchester or the Nashville Rescue Mission.

4/11/14 —– Ethel Marie Wathen Keith

Ethel Marie Wathen Keith, age 90, passed away on April 8, 2014 at her home in Manchester, Tennessee surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Keith was a homemaker and member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Tullahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Joe D. Keith; parents, Henry Wathen and Ida M. Boyd Wathen; sister, Agnes Wathen; three brothers, Charles Wathen, Lawrence Wathen and Raymond Wathen.

Mrs. Keith had lived a full and rewarding life, loving and enjoying her family and friends; watching “her birds” at the feeders; being an avid Braves baseball fan; watching Wheel of Fortune and being a University of Tennessee fan. Her children fondly remember her as the “perfect mother”.

She is survived by her children, Roy L. Keith (Judy) of Ringgold, GA, Ray D. Keith (Debbie) of Decherd, TN, Cynthia J. Hickerson (Billy), Melinda J. Anderson (Kelly) and Randy L. Keith (Kelly) all of Manchester, TN; one sister, Martha Wathen Schenk of Madison, WI; 54 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday evening, April 10, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester.

The Funeral Mass will be conducted on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Tullahoma with Father Stephen Klasek officiating.

Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

4/11/14 —- VICKI LYNN CLICK BRAZIER

VICKI LYNN CLICK BRAZIER, age 44, of Manchester, Tenn., formerly of Winchester, Tenn. departed this life suddenly on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

She was a homemaker.  Mrs. Brazier was of the Baptist Faith.  She loved facebook and had over three thousand friends.  She was a good cook, and good hearted.  She loved helping people.  She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, and was looking forward to spoiling her first grandchild due in two months.

She was preceded in death by her father, Maxie Click, brother, Joey Click and mother-in-law, Marilyn Brazier.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Brazier, Jr. of Manchester, sons; Tyler (Chelsey) Griser of Manchester, Robbie Miller of Tracy City, Tenn., daughter, Britny (Jonathan) Prince of Manchester, Mother, Karen Dixon of Winchester, Maternal Grandmother, Nancy Majors of Winchester, Father-in-law, Kenneth Brazier, Sr., of Manchester, Brothers; Jonathan (Shirley) Click of Winchester, Michael (Danielle) Dixon, Philip Dixon and James Dixon all of Manchester.

Visitation for Mrs. Brazier will be held from 12:00 until Service time at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 11, 2014, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Rev. William Pritchett, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd, Tenn.

4/10/14 —— YOSHIKO K. KNOTT

YOSHIKO K. KNOTT, age 85, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Tuesday, April 08, 2014, at Golden Living Center-Mtn. View in Winchester following an extended illness.

Ms. Knott was born in Tokyo, Japan to the late Jisaburo and Tomi Kosuge. flower7

She was employed as a seamstress at the former Lanier Clothing Company. She was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed crafts, cross stitching, and painting.  She loved blackberries and making blackberry jam for her family, her children will always remember her making them go with her to pick blackberries in the summer, but it was worth it when it came time in the winter to open the jars of jam she made for them.  She was a wonderful cook and would often write her recipes in Japanese so no one could copy them unless she wanted to share them or they knew Japanese.  She always had an optimistic attitude about everything.  Mrs. Knott had a lot of friends and never met a stranger.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed.

Ms. Knott is survived by her children; James K. (Charlotte) Knott of Estill Springs, Tenn., Sue Fulmer of Cowan, Karen Jones of Columbus, Georgia, Robert Knott of Winchester, 7-grandchildren and 8-great-grandchildren, 1-brother, Hiroshi Kosuge of Tokyo, Japan.

It was Ms. Knott’s request that she be cremated.

A Remembrance time with the family is scheduled for 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday Evening, April 10, 2014, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Play Ground Fund at Winchester Head Start, P.O. Box 523, Winchester, TN 37398 in Memory of Ms. Knott.

4/11/14 —- Mary Irene Richards

flower2Mary Irene Richards, nee Lakowski, born in Detroit, Michigan, May 27, 1928; died in Manchester, Tennessee, April 8, 2014, at age 85.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Sophie Lakowski; all six of her siblings; her first husband of 27 years Dominic Lapczynski with whom she had three children; her second husband of 25 years Paul Richards; her daughter Maryrose Martin, and her granddaughter Kathy Anne Lapczynski.

Mary is survived by her son David (Kate) Lapczynski of Tullahoma, Tennessee and a daughter Rita Dinser of Sterling Heights, Michigan, as well as seven grandchildren, Kelly Lapczynski, Jake (Becca) Lapczynski, Erik Martin, Jamie Martin, David, Dennis, and Mattthew Dinser, and four great-grandchildren.

Mary was a homemaker and part-time cook who worked for many years in a department store restaurant in Michigan. She was a devout Catholic. Mary moved to Tullahoma following the death of her second husband in 2000 and lived there for twelve years. She was in hospice care at McArthur Manor in Manchester at the time of her death.

Visitation with the family of Mrs. Richards will be Friday evening, April 11, 2014, from 5 PM until 8 PM at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Mrs. Richards will be buried in Taylor, Michigan.

4/10/14 —- George Coleman Layne

Mr. George Coleman Layne age 66 of Monteagle passed away at his home, with his family by his bedside, Tuesday morning, April 8, 2014.

George had worked for many years as a mechanic at the Monteagle Truck Plaza. Born in Manchester, he was a son of the late Clyde Layne and Elsie Meeks Layne.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Sue Rollins Layne; son, Jerry (Heather) Layne, Tracy City; daughter, Kimberly (Thomas) Collins, Monteagle; grandson, Sam; sisters, Mattie Murray, Novella Layne and Lucy Hill all of Pelham, Annie McCord, Nashville;  brother, Kelly “Bug” Layne; half-brother, Wilson Tucker, Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Dr. Daryll Smiley will officiate.

Burial will be in the Anderson Cemetery in Sewanee.flower 12

Graveside services for Kaylie Mai Cooper, infant daughter of Jonathan Cooper and Dara Dillard, of Morrison, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Cannon County, TN with pink teddy bearBro. Danny Freeman officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Wednesday at Manchester Funeral Home.  Kaylie Mai passed away on Friday, April 4 at her parent’s residence.
Kaylie Mai was born on January 5, 2014.  In addition to her parents, she is also survived by one brother, Jayden Jay Rogers; one sister, Kara Ann Cooper; paternal grandparents, Gary Cooper and Debbie Waters; and maternal grandparents, James and Barbara Dillard.

Funeral services for Mr. Melvin “Mac” McCormick, age 79, of Tullahoma will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Thursday in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Brazier officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held Thursday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mr. McCormick passed away Saturday at his residence.

He was a retired Veteran of the United States Navy, serving for over twenty years. Mac served three tours in Vietnam and also served in the Korean Conflict. He also was a retired Police officer in Coffee Co. and worked at George Dickle.

Mr. Jimmy Ray Smith age 78 of the Providence community near Pelham passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, in Erlanger Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was a son of the late John Hulon Smith and Lucille Patterson Smith and was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Gloria Jean Smith; nephew, Russell Smith; brother-in-law, James Spencer.

Jimmy was retired from the Grundy County Highway Department.
Survivors include his fiance, Darla Ball, Pelham; son, Michael R. Smith, Pelham; daughter, Cynthia Mowl, Alabaster, Alabama; brother, David Hulon (Kathy) Smith, Providence; sister, Margaret Ellen Spencer, Manchester; nephews, Troy (Rhonda) Smith, Ricky Smith, Greg (Laura) Brown; niece, Angela (Keith) Nunley.

4/6/14 —- Zackary “Zack” Ulmer

Zackary “Zack” Ulmer age 19 passed away suddenly on April 3, 2014.

Zack is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gale Daves Sr.; great-grandfather, Coy Ulmer and uncle, Dennis Neally.

He is survived by his mother, Shannon (Shannan) Miller of Winchester; father, Scotty (Sabrina) Ulmer of Manchester; sisters, Destiny Rhodes, Madison Miller, Taylor Johnson, Summer Gilliam, Spring Gilliam and Winter Gilliam; grandmothers, Mary (Jerry) Neally of Lynchburg and Becky (Joey) Johnson of Tullahoma; great-grandmother, Pat Ulmer of Lynchburg.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 2pm from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Sanders officiating.

Interment will follow in New Center Grove Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 12 until time of service.
