5/24/14 —- Thelma Lee Uselton

Thelma Lee Uselton, age 71 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Bordeaux Long Term Care in Nashville.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor A. Richard Smith and Pastor Alex Hoffner officiating.

Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery.

flower 12Visitation with the family will be Saturday, May 24 from 12 PM until service time at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Miss Uselton was the daughter of the late Willie and Katherine Darnell Uselton.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Tullahoma where she had worked doing maintenance for many years.  She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and walking and playing with her dog, Puppers.  She also enjoyed listening to country music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Louis and Jessie Uselton and two sisters, Rosie and Sara Ann Uselton.

She is survived by one brother, Hershel Uselton and his wife, Dawn of Tullahoma; one sister, Myrtle Marie Uselton of Tullahoma; three nephews Richard, Paul and his wife Wendy and Carl Ray Uselton; niece, Mariah Uselton; four great nieces, Hope, Page, Taylor and Shelby Uselton and great great nephew, Camden Uselton.

5/24/14 —– Hugh Lee Acuff

Graveside services for Mr. Hugh Lee Acuff, age 88, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.    Burial will follow.

Mr. Acuff passed away on Monday, May 19,  2014.


Mr. Acuff was born in Lake City, TN, the son of the late Charley and Lena Lovett Acuff. 

He was retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant.

 

In addition to his parents, Hugh was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby Gipson Acuff, who passed away in 2011. 

He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Dr. Richard) Fishbein of Manchester; and special family who affectionately call him “Papa Q”, Wendi Lovell and her children, Tays, Kelley, and Madison.

5/21/14 —- Martha E.K. Hamilton

Martha E.K. Hamilton, of Manchester, passed this life on Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 at her residence at the age of 84.

Mrs. Hamilton was born in Washington D.C. to the late Charles and Margaret Webb Knorleine.

She is survived by two daughters, Jacquelyn Eagle of Manchester, and Margaret Kulpa-Johnson and her husband Kent of Ormond Beach, Florida; one son, Michael Hamilton of Kentucky; and four grandchildren, Joshua Kulpa, James Eagle Jr., Jenna Eagle, and Jodi Colton.

No services are currently planned at this time.

5/24/14 —- Mary Cleo Frizzell

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Cleo Frizzell, age 89, of Manchester, will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in Farrar Hill Cemetery. 

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Frizzell passed away Tuesday evening at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

 
Mrs. Frizzell was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late  Jarrett Alfred and Alice Lee Walker Brown. 

She was employed at PCA in Manchester for 20 years before working at Batesville Casket Company, where
she retired after 13 years of service.  She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Frizzell loved to travel, was a wonderful cook, was devoted to and loved her church and her family, and also enjoyed shopping trips.

 
In addition to her parents, Cleo was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Everett Frizzell, who passed in 1994; brothers, J.W., Clifton, Hershel, and Billy Brown; and sisters, Helen Brown and Imogene Uselton. 

She is survived by one son, Neill (Linda) Frizzell of East Ridge, TN; one daughter, Rebecca (Steven) Calvert of New Mexico; two grandchildren, Amanda Lynne Frizzell and Jason Oliver Everett Frizzell; one great grandchild, Margot Elisabeth Frizzell; and many nieces and nephews.

5/26/14 —- Dorothy Mildred Noah

Mrs. Dorothy Mildred Noah, age 98, a native of Winchester, entered into her eternal peace on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

She enjoyed cooking, planting flowers and spending lots of quality time with her family.

She was the daughter of the late William Robert and Eliza Ann Partin.  In addition to her parents,  she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Tucker; her second husband, Carl Noah; five brothers and sisters; son, Charles Frank Tucker; grandsons, Troy Warmbrod and John Tucker.

Survivors include her children, Anita (Joe) Warmbrod and Bobby (Theresa) Tucker; grandchildren, Terrie Tucker, Karri (Toni) Patton, Eric (Lorie) Warmbrod, Lindsay (Jared) Sears and Tonya Tucker; four great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside memorial services will be held at Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd, TN at 10 AM on Monday, May 26, 2014.

She will live on in our hearts and her love of cooking will be passed on through the generations to come.

5/23/14 —- Harold Raybourn Miller

Harold Raybourn Miller, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, May 20th, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 92.

Mr. Miller was born in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Lvetslie Lloyd and Edna Mae Deputy Miller.

He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps, serving in Leeche, Itlay and was a Navigator on B-24s. He then became a navigation instructor after his combat tour. Mr. Miller later went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma as a aeronautical engineer and worked as a professional Aerospace Engineer with ARO before his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma and is described by his family as an exceptional father and husband.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his brother, Leslie Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Anne Miller of Tullahoma; two sons, Dwight Miller and his wife Susie of Tullahoma, and Randy Miller and his wife Dinah of Tyler, TX; five grandchildren, Trey Miller of Houston, TX, Tracy Haberle and her husband Stuart of Whitehouse, TX, Tisha Reed and her husband Brad of Houston, TX, Christopher Miller and his wife Cathy of Manchester, and Greg Miller of Tullahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Glenn Haberle, Miller Haberle, Trey Haberle, John Reed, Cayden Miller, Elizabeth Miller and Madison Miller; and special friends, Frank and Kathy Glass of Tullahoma.

Visitation for Mr. Miller will be held on Friday, May 23rd, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with funeral services immediately following at 3:00 pm with Revs. Edd Templeton, Paul Purdue, and Mark Ashley officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma.

5/22/14 —- Maudie Lee Bell

Mrs. Maudie Lee Bell, age 90 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 21 from 5 PM – 8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A native of Coffee County, she was the daughter of the late George and Kate Evans Tatum.

She was a member of Hickerson Station Church of Christ and had retired from Wilson Sporting Goods in Tullahoma.  She loved her family and especially loved to spoil her grandchildren.  She enjoyed flower gardening and listening to Blue Grass and Gospel music.  She especially enjoyed attending the Manchester Senior Citizens music nights on Mondays.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thornton Harrison Bell who passed away in 1952; daughter, Mary Alice Bell; brother, Warner Andrew Tatum; sister, Annie Alice May Tatum; granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Bell; great granddaughter, Tammy Annette Finchum and great great grandson, James Michael Gibson.

Mrs. Bell is survived by two sons, Thornton Bell and his wife, Velma of Tullahoma and Tommy Joe Bell of Tullahoma; one sister, Pearline Richards of Tullahoma; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

5/25/14 —– Jewell Goodman

Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Goodman, age 96, of Pelham, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Mirian Seyler officiating.

Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Grundy County.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Goodman passed away Sunday at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. 

Mrs. Goodman was born in Pelham, TN, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Bessie Meeks Hamby.

After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, she taught in several elementary schools. She was a retired Grundy County High School English teacher and the owner of Pelham Food Market. She was a member of the Pelham United Methodist Church. Jewell loved gardening, singing in the church choir, working in her store with her sister, Ms. Melrose, and giving candy to the children of the Pelham Community. 

In addition to her parents, Jewell was also preceded in death by her husband, Lude C. Goodman; one brother, Hagen Hamby; and one sister, Nana Lou Hamby Meeks.


 She is survived by her sister, Melrose Holder of Pelham; two nieces, Rosalyn Holder (Dr. Charles) Bennett and Joy Meeks (Fred) Yarbro; two nephews, Edward Donevan (Patricia) Holder and Grant Meeks; two great nieces, Alicia Dawn (Jim) Halbert and Brittany Yarbro; great, great niece,  Kathryn Halbert; and great, great nephew, Reid C. Halbert.

5/21/14 —- Sue Duncan

Sue Duncan, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, May 19th, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 72.

Mrs. Duncan was born in Trousdale County to the late D.R. and Louise Cato Woodard and was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Tullahoma.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George Duncan of Tullahoma; one son, Mike Duncan and his wife Karla of Tullahoma; two sisters, JoAnn Grammer of Huntsville and Linda David of Gallatin; one brother, Billy Cato Woodard and his wife JoAnn of Hartsville; one grand-dog, Harley-Pup; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Duncan will be held on Tuesday, May 20th, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wayne Wester officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Dr. Don Dixon officiating. Pallbearers will be Jack Casteel, Jimmy Gaddis, Sandy MacLanahan, Donnie Weddington, David Wright, and Steve Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Womack and Billy Ray Murray.

5/21/14 —– Michael Lee Arnold

Mr. Michael Lee Arnold, age 56 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Sunday, May 18, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Everhart officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 12 Noon until service time at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Elmer Arnold and Dorothy Preston Arnold of Tullahoma.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Tullahoma.  He was a Truck Driver who enjoyed watching Nascar Racing, restoring motorcycles and cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Payne Arnold of Tullahoma; daughter, Michelle Evans of Tullahoma; sister, Susan White and her husband, Bill of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Cameron, Michael, Bailey and Austin; stepson, James Harlow Jr. of Tullahoma; mother-in-law, Wilma Shelton of Tullahoma; half-brother, Roger Arnold of Florida and best friend, Timmy Holder of Crossville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
