7/2/14 — Herbert Fred “Freddy” Blackburn

Herbert Fred “Freddy” Blackburn, age 52, of Monteagle, TN, passed away Wednesday morning at his residence. 

No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Blackburn was born in Manchester, TN, the son of the late Troy Gene and Rachel Phillips Blackburn.

He was self-employed as a carpet installer and a boat mechanic.  He enjoyed fishing, boat racing, gardening, farming, and working with cattle.


Freddy is survived by his loving companion of 16 years, Tina Besheres, of Monteagle; one daughter, Sheena (Marcus) Pratt of Manchester; one grandchild, Blake Pratt; Tina’s son, Jordyn Besheres, and his daughter, Madelynn Besheres; one brother, Terry (Lisa) Blackburn of Manchester; one sister, Bobbie Jean Blackburn of Estill Springs; uncle, Thomas Blackburn of
Manchester; aunt, Ann Melton of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.

7/6/14 —– Betty Ann Haley

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ann Haley, age 70, of Manchester, will beconducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Horace Lee Jacobs officiating. 

Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. 

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Haley passed away Wednesday morning at Medical Center of Manchester.

 

Betty was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Larkin Gaines and Ruby Bryan Sain. 

She was a retired waitress, after spending many years employed by Shoney’s.  She loved Nascar, cooking, animals, birds, and
gardening, but she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by a brother, Larkin Gaines Sain, Jr.; and a niece, Marisa Sain. 

She is survived by her husband, Charles Haley, of Manchester; one son, Lynn Haley of Manchester; one daughter, Crystal (Michael) Smith of Manchester; three grandchildren, Carrie Haley, Andrew Smith, and Caitlyn Haley; special niece, Layla Sain of MO; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gary Maurice Dean 64, of Normandy passed Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center. 

He is survived by two sisters, Betty Graham of Nashville, TN and Elberta Dean of New Jersey.

7/3/14 —– ANDREW “DREW” RYAN AUSTIN

ANDREW “DREW” RYAN AUSTIN, age 25, of Cowan, Tenn. departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Austin was a 2006 graduate of Franklin County High School. Mr. Austin last attended St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Cowan. He loved 4-wheeling, camping, and fishing. Most of all he loved his family and friends.

Mr. Austin was preceded in death by his mother, Regina Bohanan and maternal grandfather, Billy Bohanan, Sr.

He is survived by his father, Bobby Austin and Fiance’, Gina Stewart of Winchester, brothers; Dylan Austin of Tullahoma and Drake Austin of Winchester, Paternal Grandparents; Jenny Sue (Butch) Austin of Cowan, Bobby (Brenda) Land of Ocala, Fla., Maternal Grandmother Carolyn Hice of Lynchburg, Great-great-grandmother, Elon Austin of Cowan, aunts; Angie Hise of Lynchburg and April (Jeremy) Acklen of Cowan, Uncle, Billy (Avasa) Bohanan of Lynchburg, cousins; Hunter Bohanan of
Lynchburg, Bayla and Gus Acklen.

Visitation for Mr. Austin will be held from 3:00-5:00 P.M. on Thursday Evening, July 3.

Services will follow at 5:00 P.M. with Bro. Tim Brown officiating and eulogist, Jarod Pearson.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd, Tenn.

7/2/14 —— Charles William “C.W.” Channell Sr.

Charles William “C.W.” Channell Sr., of Tullahoma, passed this life on Sunday, June 29th, 2014 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma at the age of 86.

Mr. Channell was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Rev. Elbert Patton and Clara Reynolds Channell Sr.

He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and later went on to manage Shapard Chevrolet in Tullahoma. C.W. enjoyed helping people live a better life, and also enjoyed working at church to help the unsaved know who their Lord was. He believed in community work and enjoyed working for others. He headed many different organizations, including boy scouts, heart association, cancer societies, mayors youth committee, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. His last, most enjoyable work was with the Tullahoma Lions Club, where he served as president and governor of the Lions International.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Channell is preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Channell.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Channell of Tullahoma; two daughters, Linda Anderton and her husband Tommy of Shelbyville, and Lisa Sellers and her husband Marvin of Tullahoma; one son, Charles Channell of Franklin; five grandchildren, Whitney Channell of Rock Island, Tennessee, Ben Channell and his wife Liz of Antioch, Tennessee, Scott Anderton and his wife Kristin of Franklin, Tennessee, Stacie Parkins and her husband Danny of Cookeville, Tennessee, and Stephanie Hardcastle and her husband Don of Cookeville, Tennessee; one great-granddaughter, Emily Parkins of Cookeville, Tennessee; and two brothers, James Channell and his wife Estella of Maryville, Tennessee, and Rev. Elbert Channell Jr. and his wife Mary of Thomasville, Georgia.

Visitation for Mr. Channell will be held on Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 at 10:00am at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma with Dr. J. Herbert Hester and Dr. Baylon Hilliard officiating.

7/1/14 — Ronald M. Pollock

Ronald M Pollock, 72 of Tullahoma passed from this life on Friday June 27th, 2014 after an extended illness.

He was retired from Wilson´s Sporting Goods of Tullahoma, and was a founding member of Westside United Pentecostal Church of Tullahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lula Mae Pollock, two sisters Betty Jean Campbell and Margaret Ann Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Treva Pollock. Three sons Mike (Denise), Randy (Gerri), and David (Misty). Five grandchildren, Christopher Pollock, Carl (Sabrina) Pollock, Crystal (Jeremy) Hickman, Jack Pollock, and Hannah Pollock. Three great-grandchildren Lyndon and Carson Pollock, Dallas Hickman.

Visitation will be on Monday June 30th and will start at 5 p.m. , service to follow at 7 p.m. at Westside United Pentecostal Church, 507 Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, TN with Reverend Philip Swinford and Pastor Jimmy Kelley officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, at Maplewood Cemetery.

6/28/14 —– Iva Messick Rose

Iva Messick Rose, age 80 of Beech Grove, Tennessee, passed away on June 25, 2014 in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Mrs. Rose retired from the Cflowers 7offee County School System after teaching for 42 years. She was a substitute teacher for 7 years after retiring. She will be fondly remembered as loving wife, mother, sister and dedicated teacher who was a faithful member of the Beech Grove Church of Christ and enjoyed writing, gardening, cooking, watching “Wheel of Fortune” and going to sales at Dillards.

Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, the late Marion Lee Rose who passed away in 2012; parents, Grady Hall Messick and Myrtle B. Bush Messick; and sister, Nell Mason and her husband Shelton Mason.

Mrs. Rose is survived by her sons, Brent L. Rose of Beech Grove, TN and Brad H. Rose and his wife LuAnn of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Velma Davis and her husband Dorris of the Noah, TN; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; caregivers, Chris Ferrell and Lisa Waters and Lisa’s granddaughter, Destiny; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m.  –  8:00 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, June 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Kenneth Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

6/30/14 —— John M. (Jack) Lenahan

Funeral services for John M. (Jack) Lenahan, 66, of Tullahoma, will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday at Tullahoma Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Tucker officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Sunday at Tullahoma Funeral Home. Mr. Lenahan passed away on June 26, 2014 at his residence.

Jack was born in Ashland, PA on October 13, 1947. He graduated from Immaculate Heart High School, Fountain Springs, PA in 1965 and from Kensington University. Jack worked as an engineer for Imagine One, retiring in 2012, NASA.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Willadean Beaty in 2013; his parents, John and Virginia (Cooper) Lenahan, both in 1991; a brother, Dennis T. Lenahan, in 2002.

Jack is survived by his sister, Eileen Lenahan Ward of Pottsville, PA; his brother, Gregory Lenahan, husband of Melissa, Palmyra, PA; sister-in law Diane Lenahan, Girardville, PA; two nieces, Danielle Ward and Kathleen Lenahan; four nephews, Joseph and Matthew Lenahan, Ryan and Christopher Ward; great-nephews, Brady and Beckett Teresavage and Colin Malloy; great-nieces, Chase and Izabel Teresavage and Kyrstyn Ward.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jorene Bradford, age 69, of Manchester, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Foy Rigney officiating.

Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bradford passed from this life on Thursday morning at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester.

Mrs. Bradford was born in White County, TN, the daughter of the late Clure William and Arrie Belle Burchett Neely.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. View Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Jorene was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rosetta Witham and Linda Faye Neely; one brother, Clure Glenn Neely; and one grandchild, Sheldan Hullett.

She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Jerry Bradford of Manchester; three sons, Paul (Shelly Lucas) Hullett, Robert (Barbara) Hullett, and Joey Bradford, all of Manchester; three brothers, Randy Neely of Manchester, and Ricky and David Neely, both of Chattanooga; four sisters, Gloria Brown of Chattanooga, Brenda Malone of Manchester, Treva McHugh of North Carolina, and Reta Jones of Estill Springs; and seven grandchildren, Jackson Lucas-Hullett, Alexa Lucas-Hullett, Harrison Lucas-Hullett, Bryson Hullett, Hayden Hullett, Joey Bradford, Jr., and Jayden Bradford.

Mr. Ned Sheffield Holden, Jr, age 87 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Thursday, June 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 2PM at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 28th from 11:30 to 1:30 PM. at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A native of Coffee County he was the son of the late Ned Sheffied Holden, Sr. and Clara Bell Holder.

He was retired from George Dickel Distillery. Mr. Holden served in the United States Army as a cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife Pauline, two daughters, Marie Wyatt of Tullahoma, LeAnna Rittenhouse of Tullahoma; three sons, Brad Holden of Tullahoma, John Holden of Lynchburg, David Holden of Lynchburg; two sisters, Ruth Howse of Greenbrier, TN and Helen Holden of Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
