2/22/15 ——- Jennifer Lowe Richards Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Jennifer Lowe Richards Jones, age 50 of Beechgrove will be conducted Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Ron Chilton officiating.

Interment will follow at New Beechgrove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at her residence.

She was born October 13, 1964 in Nashville, TN the daughter of Mrs. Peggy Ruth Lowe Brown and the late Bobby Brown.

She was raised in Nashville, where she attended Ezell Harding High School. She enjoyed swimming and tap dancing during her early years. Jennifer had a special gift of making others in her life feel special. She was always giving away random nicknacks to family and friends to let them know she was thinking of them. She was extremely talented when it came to making handmade crafts of any type, which she also loved to share. Her favorite televisions shows consisted of programs on Nick-At-Night or a drama on Lifetime. She was a big fan of “I Love Lucy” Lucille Ball and also Marilyn Monroe. The first and foremost important thing to Jennifer was her family. She was a wonderful and devoted wife and mother. She even taught some of her grandchildren to enjoy one of her favorite snacks, peanut butter on a spoon with Nestle chocolate milk. Jennifer’s big hearted ways touched so many throughout her life, especially her three beloved fury canine babies, Benji, Holly and Chico, who she thought of as her children too. Jennifer will forever hold a special place in our hearts and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Bobby Brown.

Survivors include her loving husband of 5 ½ years, Michael S. Jones of Beechgrove, TN; her mother, Peggy Lowe Brown of Beechgrove, TN; five children, Joel “Joey” Richards, Jr., and wife, Saurena of Janelew, West Virginia; Tamra Renee Magee and husband, Kevin of Nutterfort, West Virgiana; and Justin Shane Richards and wife, Cami of Northpole, Alaska; Crystal Dawn Perry and husband, J.R. of Tullahoma, TN and Cassie D. Hunt and husband, Nathan of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren, Jordan and Colton Richards, Logan and Layla “Rosebud” Magee, Skyler and Greyson Richards, and Kayla and Brian and Katie Perry; also surviving is a sister, Tammy Brown Huffman and husband, Myron “Scooby” Huffman of Murfreesboro, TN and several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

2/21/15 —– Keith R. Myers

Keith R. Myers age 59 of Pelham, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at his home.

He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of Valley Home United Methodist Church.

Born in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, he was a son of the late Pascal and Juanita Myers.

Survivors include his wife, Nadine Myers; daughter, Leslie Jo Myers; grandson, Cole Richard Partin of Coalmont; Cole’s father, Charles Partin; sister, Deborah Hershman, Manchester.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Troy Smith and Brother Jim Walden officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

2/21/15 —— Vera Mamie Hambrick Laxson

Vera Mamie Hambrick Laxson was born, October 14, 1932 in Stone Mflower 3ountain, Georgia and passed from this life on February 17, 2015, at her home, at the age of 82.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, W.C Hambrick and Glover Justice Hambrick, and by her brothers Billy and Richard Hambrick.

She is survived by one sister Betty J. Horne, niece Molly Kelly, and great nice and nephew Erin(Jim) Dobson and Chris(Kim)Kelly and a host of great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She is also survived by her loving husband of 65 years J.C Laxson Jr.

Commonly known as Granny, Vera was the beloved mother of 5 children, grandmother to 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Vera was a christian woman first and foremost. She was involved in the Womens Missionary Union and a member of The First Baptist Church in Morrison, Tennessee. Her love for the Lord was proven by all of those who knew her and loved her for her talents of cooking, sewing, and selfless acts of caring for those around her. She considered herself a homemaker and took that job title very serious and of the utmost of importance.

The family that Granny devoted her life to are as follows: Children: Andy Laxson, Ann(Mike) Pelham, Faye(Gary) Prater, Amos(Sheila) Laxson, Connie(Rusty) Heatherly. Grandchildren: Lynn(Mark) Myers, Jason(Tiffany) Laxson, Rachel(Daniel) Freeze, Becky(Glenn) Shelton, Matthew(Danielle) Pelham, David(Lindsey) Kennedy, Charity(Jason) Locke, Bethany(Scott) Patterson, Hannah(Brandon) Osborne, Catherine Heatherly and Ryan Heatherly. Great-Grand Children: Sam and Ben Myers, Lily Laxson, Madison and Megan Hartwig, Will Freeze, Kristen, Ali, and Emily Shelton, Edith and Mabel Pelham, Ashlyn Grace Kennedy, Dustin and Abby Guy, Colten and Caleigh Locke.

Mrs. Jennie Benson, age 77 of Columbia, Tennessee passed away, Sunday, February 15, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Columbia.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 21 at 10 AM at Scottsboro Funeral Home with inurnment to follow at Gross Cemetery.

A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Soleman Erb and Lillie Bell Summers Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Jack, and James Smith and one sister, Joan Delaine Cook.

She is survived by three children, Terry Truman Benson and his wife, Cathy of Skyline, AL, Kathy Benson Adkins of Columbia, TN and Becky Benson Carroll of Mulberry, TN; two brothers, Jerry Smith and his wife, Beth of Crow Mountain, AL and Joe David Smith and his wife, Linda of Skyline, AL; five sisters, Mary Smith Tidmore of Scottsboro, AL, Jane Garren of Athens, TN, Barbara Swank of Arab, AL, Carol Ford and her husband, Bob of Arab, AL and Martha Paradise and her husband, Ronnie of Skyline, AL and six grandchildren.

Funeral services for James Douglas “Doug” Smith will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday Morning at Tullahoma Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Allison officiating.

Burial will follow in the Watson-North Memorial Park.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 till 7:00 PM Thursday evening at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith passed away Sunday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He was born in Franklin Co., TN to the late Alfred and Georgie Price Smith.

Mr. Smith was the owner and operator of Smithway Asphalt and Paving.

He is survived by a son, Justin Smith, a daughter, Sherry Smith, a brother, Jasper Smith, two sisters, Delores Pfiffer and Evelyn Rogers, grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Shea Burrill, Orion Smith and Madison Smith.

2/18/15 —– Patricia P. Pierce

Patricia P. Pierce, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, February 16th, 2015 at her residence at the age of 72.

Mrs. Pierce was born in Baldwin County, Alabama to the late Braxton and Ira Lorraine Lowe.

During her life, she worked as a Quality Control Auditor with M-Tech. Mrs. Pierce also owened Pat’s Market, along with her husband George Pierce Sr.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded by two brothers, John and Levon Lowe.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by three sons, Joseph Barnett of Tullahoma, Timothy Barnett and his wife Cindy of Tullahoma, and Lyston Pierce and his wife Katie of Tullahoma; two daughters, Debbie Wilson and her husband Allen of Manchester, and Donna Richardson and her husband Roy of Greenwood, South Carolina; two sisters, Toogie Duckworth of Robertsdale, Alabama, and Ann Smith of Meridian, Mississippi; one sister-in-law, Julie Lowe of Robertsdale, Alabama; 12 grandchildren, Dakota, Danielle, Sam, Charlie, EllaKate, Amber, Toby, Korri, Zander, Alyssa, Ryan, and Meghan; and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Kaden, and Maddison.

Visitation for Mrs. Pierce will be held on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home with the funeral to immediately follow at 7:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Wall officiating.

Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 at 10:00 am at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

2/21/15 — William “Doug” McGee

William “Doug” McGee  85, of Tullahoma passed Sunday, February 15, 2015 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was the son of the late William Floyd and Annie Mae McGee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby McGee and son, William “Bubba” McGeflower vasee.

He is survived by his step son, Lorenzo McGee; daughter, Anna McGee both of Tullahoma; 5 grandchildren.

Sister- Lula McGee of Nashville, TN; Mabel McGee and Willie Mai King both of Ohio; Dyann Trigg of Winchester and Josephine McGee both of Winchester, TN,

Mrs. Elnora Stovall 82,  of Estill Springs, TN passed Monday, February 16, 2015 at her residence.

She was prededed in death by her husband, Chester Stovall, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, five sons, James T. (Deborah), Chester Jr (late Melissa), Hershell (Edna), Michael (Fanaafi) and Bruce (Wanda) Stovall all of Estill Springs, TN.

Mr. Larry Vernich age 72 of Morrison, Tennessee, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Tullahoma.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Lane officiating.

Burial will follow at Forest Mill Cemetery in Manchester, Tennessee.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday at 10:00 AM until service time.

Mr.Vernich was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Vernich and Willie Carter Vernich.

He is survived by his loving wife Lesa Vernich and daughters Hannah J. and Hallie Vernich ; 2 sons and a daughter all out of state; sister-in-law Lori Pearce of Morrison as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Phyllis Glascoe, age 77 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Monday, February 16, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 20 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Randy Alexander officiating.

Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, February 19 from 5 PM – 8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Glascoe, a native of Smyrna, TN was the daughter of the late Ernest and Nannie Mae Carr Crabtree.

She worked as a cutter for Genesco, SAS and also Acme Boot. She was a member of College Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending yard sales, gardening, working zigsaw puzzles, embroidery and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Brian Keith Glascoe; one daughter Rebecca “Becky” Charlene Raines; four brothers, Charles, Hollis, Zolie “Z L”, and Robert Crabtree and three sisters, Mildred Roulett, Marie Allison and Sara Glascoe.

Mrs. Glascoe is survived by two sons, Scott Glascoe and his wife, Amanda and Chris Glascoe and his wife, Kathy, both of Tullahoma; one daughter, Robin Agan and her husband, Brian of Normandy; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
