3/7/15 —- Geneva Grace Patterson

flower vase 3Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Grace Patterson, age 87 of Pelham, TN will be conducted Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Lynn Cassidy officiating.

Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery in Pelham, TN.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.

Mrs. Patterson passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma, TN surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 5, 1927 in the Payne’s Cove community of Grundy County, the daughter of the late Robert Cheatom Oliver and Allie Irene Phipps Oliver.

At age 15, she met and soon thereafter, married her husband, Dillon Patterson on April 24, 1943 in Ringgold, GA. Mrs. Patterson was a devoted homemaker who loved and cherished her family. She was a master seamstress who also enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning. She possessed a giving heart, always sharing her home cooked foods or her beautifully hand stitched works with family and friends. She was known for her talent of cross stitching as well as her beautifully made porcelain dolls. She was a very talented artist, expressed in her many hand drawn pictures. Throughout her lifetime, she assisted her husband with the family farm and also spent ten years working at Tyson Foods. She found her greatest joy in her family and in giving to others.

She will forever be missed by her loving family and friends. She was a member of Chapman’s Chapel Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson is preceded in death by her husband, Dillon Patterson who passed away February 11, 1996; and brothers, Melvin Oliver, Marvin Earl Oliver, Jim Oliver, and a sister, Joanne Pace.

Survivors include two children, Eddie M. Patterson and wife, Susan of Murfreesboro and Theresa J. Compton and husband, Jerry also of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Kent Patterson of Franklin, TN and Blake Patterson and wife, Tracie of San Juan, Puerto Rico; two step-grandchildren, Marchelle Butler and husband, Billy of Alphretta, GA and Valerie Yambor and husband, Paul of Lavergne, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Max, Ben, Holly and Lauren Patterson and Saralyn, Shawn and Bryan Yambor and Rachel Butler. Also surviving is a brother, Bernie Oliver and wife, Shelia of Alto, TN and a loving, devoted care giver, Glenda Patterson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Patterson may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

3/2/15 —- Steve “Bud” Fults

 

Funeral services for Mr. Steve “Bud” Fults, age 73, of Beechgrove, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Chilton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fox Hollow Cemetery in Rutherford County.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Fults passed from this life Friday evening at the Medical Center of Manchester.

Steve was born in Cannon County, TN, the son of the late Robert Collins and Mary Alline Todd Fults.

He was a farmer, truck driver, and retired from Southland Brick & Block. He was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of Masonic Lodge 239 in Beechgrove. Steve was a member of Tennessee Walkers Square Dance Club in Murfreesboro and loved the outdoors, especially farming.

In addition to his parents, Steve was also preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Fults; two infant sons, Gary Wayne Fults and David Collins Fults; one brother, Sam William Fults; and one sister, Barbara Spears. He is survived by a special friend, Betty Reed; one daughter, Rita Faye Brown of Beechgrove; one sister, Robbi Ann (Allen) Benson of Nashville; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

3/2/15 —- Donna Miller Nichols

Donna Miller Nichols, of Tullahoma passed away Friday morning at Harton Regional Medical Center.

Donna was born to the late Herbert Aaron Miller and Orpha Orr Miller in Oskosh, Wisconsin, on January 18, 1932, the second of three children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Otto Eugene Miller and Ronald Lee Miller.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James Hiram Nichols of Tullahoma; three sons James Richard Nichols of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Dr. Robert Hiram Nichols, Sr. (Rhonda) of Tullahoma, and Thomas Alan Nichols (Rebecca) of Topeka, Kansas; grandchildren Dr. Robert Hiram Nichols, Jr.,(Jenny), Alicia Nichols Wilkerson (Bryan), Dr. Matthew Lee Nichols (Kristin), Amanda Nichols Major (Dr. Ralston Major), Lea Nichols (Dave Machek), Rebecca Nichols, and Sonora Nichols; and great-grandchildren Robert H. Nichols III, Lauren Nichols, Katie Grace Nichols, William Nichols, Nathan Wilkerson, Charles Nichols, Amelia Wilkerson, Lillie Dale Major, Jack Nichols, and Lucas Wilkerson.

Donna was very close to her parents, grandparents and brothers, and to her own growing family.  After early work at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, she worked at AEDC as an Engineering Aide in what later became VKF. She left AEDC to be a full-time Mom.  Gifted as a singer, she was a member of the choir of the Tullahoma First Christian Church in the 1960s and 1970s.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, March 1st , 2015 at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm Monday, March 2nd , 2015 with Rev. Tom Murdock officiating.

3/1/15 —- Allie Claire Duncan

Allie Claire Duncan, infant daughter of Scott and Beanna Duncan, passed from her mother’s womb, safely into heaven on Tuesday, February 24th, 2015. pink teddy bear

Allie Claire is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, J.B. and Cynthia Duncan, Irby and Annie Lee Lightner, Raymond Branch, Roscoe and Ruth Weddington, and Joe and Ruth Watkins.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two loving sisters, Anne and Ava Duncan; paternal grandparents, Phil and Charlotte Duncan; maternal grandparents, Mark and Rita Watkins and Doug and Darlene Weddington; great-grandmother, Nell Branch; uncle and aunt, Rodney and Shannon Brindley Duncan; and cousins, Sadler and Brindley Duncan.

Visitation for Allie Claire will be held on Sunday, March 1st, 2015 from 1:00-3:00pm with the funeral service to immediately follow at 3:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Todd and Bro. James Myers officiating.

Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Normandy.

Memorial visitation for Mrs. Katheryn Ann Mills, age 62, of Manchester, will be conducted from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mills passed away Wednesday afternoon at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.

Katheryn was born in Lufkin, TX, the daughter of the late Donald Ray Wilson and Della Mae Bruce Wilson, who survives.

In addition to her father, Katheryn was also preceded in death by one sister, Ina Wilson.

She is survived by a special friend, Terry Thompson; three sons, James, Jimmy, and Josh Mills, all of TX; two daughters, Shirley (Richard) Duke and Bonnie Mills, both of Manchester; one brother, James (Beverly) Wilson of TX; two sisters, Sharon (Kenny) Blackwell of TX and Donna Bates of Manchester; eight grandchildren, Dylan, Josie, Maria, Zachery, Zenna, Preston, Shane, and Isaac; three great grandchildren, Hunter, Corey, and Aiden; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

William Glen Hodge age 53 of Shelbyville passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015.

A native of Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Charlie R. Hodge, Jr and Audra Cook Hodge.

Mr. Hodge was a truck driver and factory worker.

He is survived by one son, Christopher Glen Williams and wife Sabrina of Shelbyville; three brothers, James Hodge and wife Kennia of Tullahoma, Kelvin Hodge and Myron Hodge both of Virginia; four grandchildren, Destiny, Drake, Brayden and Beverly Williams.

2/27/15 —- Wanda Lou Thomas Hannah

flower 19Wanda Lou Thomas Hannah, age 79, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at her home in the Noah Community of Coffee County.

She was a native of Coffee County and the daughter of the late Robert Leland and Rose Adeline Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lyle Hannah and a brother Jack Nolan Thomas.

Mrs. Hannah is survived by her daughters, Tammy Hannah McCrary and her husband Wayne, Cindy Hannah and Jodi Hannah; grandchildren, Adam and Andy McCrary, Chris and Rob Bellenfant, Amanda Curran and three great-grandchildren, all of Murfreesboro and many nieces, nephews and other loving family.

Mrs. Hannah was a member of the Bell Springs United Methodist Church, a 1954 graduate of Manchester High School and attended MTSU. She retired from the Phillips Book Store at MTSU.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel and again Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of funeral services at 2:00 pm at Bell Springs United Methodist Church in the Noah Community. Pastors David Stockton and Lewis Johnson will officiate.

Burial will be in the Farrar Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

2/26/15 —- John Thomas “J.T.” McBee

John Thomas “J.T.” McBee, age 88 of Decherd, Tennessee, passed away on February 23, 2015 at the Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester.

Mr. McBee retired from Carrier, Inc. after 33 years of service and later served 10 years with the Tennessee State Highway Department. He also farmed and enjoyed flying and CB radios during their popularity.

He was born in Alto, TN to his parents, the late John William McBee and Margaret Susan Jane Long McBee. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Reba McBee Derrick, Ruby McBee Craig, Gertrude McBee and Margaret Louise McBee; and brothers, Thurman McBee, Hubert McBee, Edward McBee and Earl McBee.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Marie McBee Rhoads of Decherd, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Central Funeral Home with Brother Barry Rhoads officiating.

Burial will follow at the Prairie Plains Church of Christ Cemetery.

2/28/15 —- Russel “Nell” Simmons

Mrs. Russell “Nell” Simmons age 82 of Tullahoma passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center, Winchester, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015, 11:00 AM at Daves-Culbertson Chapel with burial at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, with Bro. David Wall officiating.

Visitation will be 9:00 until time of service.

A native of Coffee County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Russell Watson and Orene Crosslin Watson.

She attended First Baptist Church in Tullahoma. Nell worked in retail selling shoes, Nell was a great homemaker, she loved to cook and was very good at decorating her home. She loved her flower garden, bowling, which included lots of travel with various bowling leagues. In earlier years she was a very good skater. She also loved to take trips to Florida which always included sunbathing. She and her sisters had lots of enjoyable shopping trips, which included antique stores. Nell’s nickname given her by her father was “Snookie” but her dad always called her “Snookes”. Nell Simmons was a very social person, she loved people and they loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Russell and Orene Watson and her husband Odis Simmons.

She is survived by one son, Paul Simmons and his wife Pat of Tullahoma; two sisters, Louise Smith and Mary Bosswell both of Tullahoma; one grandson Jonathan Simmons and his wife Nickie ; two great grandchildren Paisley and  Russell Simmons.flower vase 2

2/28/15 —— Ruth Moore

Ruth Moore, passed away peacefully in her home under Hospice care on Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 at the age of 83.

Her friend and caregiver, Darlene Ray provided comfort until her passing.

Mrs. Moore was born on December 11th, 1931 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Charles Kirk and Beatrice Sears Wright.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma and enjoyed both line and square dancing. She was an original member of Hix and Chix, the Coffee Squares, and the Estill Springers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd F. Moore; her granddaughter, Marisa Lee Brown; and one brother, Russell Wright.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her son, Rick L. Moore and his wife Jan of Tullahoma; daughters, Deborah Fewell and her husband Kent of Texas, and Teresa Brown and her husband Tony of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Mason Moore and his wife Kristen, Becca Hollis and her husband Greg, Travis Brown, Seth Fewell, and Alexis Reed and her husband J.T.; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Moore will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm with the funeral to immediately follow at 12:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. J. Herbert Hester officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
