4/7/15 —- Johnny Garcia Gonzales Sr.

Johnny Garcia Gonzales Sr., of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, April 1st, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 89.

Visitation for Mr. Gonzales will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, 2015 from 10:00 am-11:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with funeral mass immediately following at 11:00 am with Father Stephen Klasek officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.

4/4/15 —- Robert “Bob” Elam

Funeral services for Mr. Robert “Bob” Elam, age 66 of Manchester, TN will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating.

Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Elam passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born May 31, 1948 in Columbia, Tennessee the son of the late Elbert Elam and Eula Mai Reed Elam.

The family resided in Union City, TN where Bob attended and graduated Union City High School. It was there that Bob met his bride to be, Jennifer Passmore, in biology class. The two went on and attended UT Martin and were married on January 10, 1969. Bob then joined the United States Navy for three years and was honorably discharged June 10, 1972. Upon returning home, he finished college and began a forty year career in the natural gas business. During his career, Bob was active in numerous associations to include the Tennessee Gas Association, Southeast Gas Association and the American Gas Laboratories Association where he served on the board of directors for several years. He was active in Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. In 2006, Bob retired as Vice President of Operations of Atmos Energy Corporation. He was an active contributor to the Duck River Baptist Disaster Relief Team, a cause dear to his heart. His passions included a long list of outdoor activities such as hunting, target shooting, motorcycle riding, and growing vegetable gardens. Bob loved watching his children and grandchildren grow up and was a constant factor in their lives. He so enjoyed teaching his children and others how to fish and was extremely active in Boy Scouts through the years. He had a passion for UT football and loved his wife and family beyond measure. Bob was an active member of First Baptist Church in Manchester which was very dear to him. He will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Elam.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jennifer Passmore Elam of Manchester, TN; son, William “Bill” Elam and wife, Sunday of Spring Hill, TN; and daughter, Bridgette Whitaker and husband, David of Smyrna, TN; three grandchildren, Ethan Whitaker, Cody Elam and Levi Elam. Also surviving is a brother, Billy Elam and wife, Tammy of Martin, TN and two sisters, Mary Jane Quinton and husband, Johnny of Union City, TN and Carolyn Smith and husband, Billy Joe of Columbia, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

4/3/15 —— Gerald David Skidmore, Sr.

Gerald David Skidmore, Sr. Born July 29, 1937 in Chattanooga, TN, born again approx. 1980, released to Heaven on March 30, 2015.

Gerald is survived by his lovely wife Ellen Marie Skidmore, son Gerald David Skidmore, Jr (wife: Cynthia), granddaughter Rachael McFarlane (husband: Matt), brothers: James (wife: Mona), Ray, Patrick, and Gary Skidmore (wife: Debbie), sister: Joan Ownby, step-daughter Susan Smith (husband: Greg), step-daughter Rhonda Sutliff (son: Tim), and many nieces and nephews.

Gerald enjoyed motorcycle riding, shooting, traveling, collecting, and time with family and friends.

He retired from AEDC in 1999.

A going home memorial service will be held at Central Funeral Home, Manchester, TN on Friday April 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.

3/31/15 —– Clara Frances Cutter

Mrs. Clara Frances Cutter, age 85, of Manchester, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester, TN.

Graveside services will be held at Palm Memorial Park in Las Vegas, NV at a later date.

Mrs. Cutter was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Andrew Becton and Annie Frances Walker Richards.

She graduated from the Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville, TN in 1948. She worked in assembly at Lockheed Martin-Burbank.

In addition to her parents, Clara was also preceded in death by her husband, James Andrew Cutter and two sisters, Sarah Elizabeth “Betty” Hudgens and Nina Jewell Rogers.

She is survived by two sisters, Linda (David) Umbarger and Bobbie (Dewey) Petty, both of Manchester.

4/3/15 —– John William Jackson

Mr. John William Jackson age 86, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 3. 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Normandy.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Mr. Jackson, born in Cross Plains, Tennessee, but lived in Tullahoma for 80 Years, he was the son of the late William Henry and Effie Steed Jackson.

He was owner of Jackson Trench and Plumbing. In earlier years he worked in 32 states installing natural gas lines as a heavy equipment operator. Shortly after completing his tour in the U.S. Navy John learned to fly a Biplane, he enjoyed repairing antique clocks, wood working, avid gardener and he loved to dance. John served proudly for several years as the Commander for the Tullahoma VFW.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife “Ginger” Lois Jackson and one sister, Sara Stowell.

He is survived by two daughters; Brenda Mercier of Ashland City and Shannon Jackson of Normandy, one brother; Joe Jackson and wife Sharon of Flintville; one sister, Leron “Susie” Tipps and husband Bill of Tullahoma; two grandchildren, Aimee Fry and Sarah Gilbert; six great-grandchildren, Christian, Kaila, Devin, Aidan, Ian and Nathaniel.

4/4/15 ——- Bertie Frances Hale

Mrs. Bertie Frances Hale, age 88 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed from this life on Sunday, March 29, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her husband Harvey R. Hale, and parents, Samuel Houston and Sallie Eugenia Harris Lasater.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Jackson, Jennifer Miller, Richard Hale, Steve Hale and wife Lou all of Manchester, Tennessee, one brother, Sam Lasater and wife Reba of Cookeville, Tennessee, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hale was an avid reader who read three to four books weekly. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Her time with family and friends was most dear to her. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation with the Hale family will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.

flower27Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Louella Naron, age 85, of Manchester will be conducted Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Tim McGehee, Brother Doyle Sherrill and grandson, Mr. Kyle Barrett officiating.

Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Naron passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 9, 1929 in Stone Mountain, Georgia the daughter of the late Herbert Glosson and Minnie Mae McDaniel Glosson.

In earlier years, Mrs. Naron assisted her husband H.C. Naron, in the poultry farming industry with Tyson Foods. She and her husband were avid tennis players until his death in July 2009. Since then, Mrs. Naron has been a dedicated volunteer with Manchester Health Care Center where she assisted with recreational activities with residents whom she loved caring for. She also loved flower gardening and yard work. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Naron was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church and was a member of the Helping Hands Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, H. C. Naron, July 12, 2009 and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three loving daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Daniel Sullivan of Shelbyville, TN; Kathy and Sam Clark of Manchester, TN and Reita and Russ Barrett of Tullahoma, TN; five grandchildren, Glen Fletcher and wife, Beckie; Adam Clark and wife, Melissa; Katie Clark; Kyle Barrett and wife, Shannon; and Amy Northcutt and husband, Rob; two step-grandchildren, Carrie White and husband, Keith and Rebecca Townes and husband, Andy; and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Jo Mangrum and husband, L.D. of Shelbyville, TN and a brother, Hugh Glosson and wife, June of Fayetteville, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

4/1/15 —- Robert W. Turner

Robert W. “Bob”, Jr. Turner, age 65 of Hillsboro, Tennessee, passed away on March 24, 2015.

He was born in Proctor, Vermont and graduated in 1968 from West Rutland High School in Proctor; graduated from Battle Creek Community College in Battle Creek, MI; and was a Real Estate Broker in Michigan for several years. He later returned to Vermont where he served as a District Inspector Police Officer with the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles until his retirement in 1994. He moved to Tennessee after retiring and met and married Emily Renetta Beckman in 1999. Bob loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed farming and raising black angus cattle and spending winters in Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, the late Robert William Turner and his brother, Harvey Turner.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Emily Renetta Beckman Turner of Hillsboro, TN; mother, Anita Turner Stanislas and step-father, Normand Stanislas of Vermont; three children, Heather Jude (Hiram) of Battle Creek, Michigan, Amy Morgan (Lester) of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Mark Turner (Autumn) of Battle Creek, Michigan; three sisters, Phyllis Jepson (Milton) of West Palm Beach, FL, Rose Wilbur (Herb) of Palm Beach Garden, FL and Ora Turner (Naney) of West Rutland, VT; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-brothers, Normand John Stanislas (Jeanie) and Mark Stanislas (Stacy) of Vermont; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

3/31/15 —- Steven Eric Peterson

Mr. Steven Eric Peterson, age 63 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, March 31 at 1 PM at Rose Hill Memoriaflower27l Gardens with Pastor Shane Hines officiating.

Mr. Peterson, a native of Milam, Indiana, was the son of the late, Dale and Bettie Pate Peterson.

Mr. Peterson worked as a truck driver and especially enjoyed driving the truck which carried equipment for Father Ryan High School Marching Band. He became very involved with the students and their parents and became a valuable member of the band. He also drove on tour with VanGuard Musicians, a group of high school and college performers. These experiences eventually led to touring and driving for many country music stars.

Mr. Peterson was also a member of the Roadfood team, a group of people who met at various restaurants in various locations to meet, eat and critique the local flavor. Results of their experiences and their recommendations can be found online. Mr. Peterson also enjoyed reading.

Mr. Peterson is survived by two sisters, Sally Brown and her husband, Lincoln of Tullahoma and Sue Munz of San Diego, CA and five nieces and nephews, Whitney Scott and Rebecca Releford, both of Tullahoma, James Dibble and his wife, Kim of Brentwood, Holly Anastas and her husband, Jeff of San Diego, CA and Ryan Muze of Los Angelos, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Father Ryan Marching Band.

DONALD “DON” EUGENE CHAPUT, JR., age 60, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Mr Chaput was born on June 23, 1954 in Watseka, IL to the late Donald and Sara Bellee Chaput, SR.

He was an avid Cubs fan and loved to fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Bradley Chaput and a granddaughter, Lauren Ariel.

Mr Chaput is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Joyce Chaput, daughter, Cindy Womack of Tullahoma, sons; Lawrence Ariel and his wife, Penny of Huntland, Donald Chaput, III of Tullahoma, Michael Chaput and his wife Renee of Elora, William Chaput and his wife, Stacy also of Elora, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Grant Funeral Services.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.
