5/6/15 —- Gladys Riddle Farris

Mrs. Gladys Riddle Farris, age 89, of Tullahoma passed away Saturday morning at her residence.

Mrs. Riddle is a native of Franklin Co., TN and the daughter of the late Marion and Ester Hice Riddle. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Farris, grandsons, Michael Cole, Josh Farris, Clint Farris, Bryan Edwards and Tommy Daniel.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Farris raised her family then went to work at Harton Hospital the day it opened. She spent 30 years working and caring for others. She was also a long time member of College Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, James R. (Audrey) Farris, Norman L. (Betty) Daniel, a daughter, Darlene Farris, Cole, seven grandchildren, James R. Farris Jr., David Cole, Jason Cole, Michele Cole Dosier, Shane Daniel, Rory Daniel and Marla Cunningham, and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Farris will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Tullahoma Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Growden officiating.

Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 till 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

5/2/15 —- Myrtle Bell

Myrtle Bell, age 81 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on April 30, 2015 at the Manchester Health Care Center.

She was a retired employee of Findlay Industries in Morrison, TN and had worked as a Bookkeeper and Payroll Clerk for many years with PCA Apparel Industries, Inc., and Eden Industries, Inc. in Manchester. She was a member of the Morrison Church of Christ.

She was born in Morrison, TN to her parents, the late Joseph Dee Bell and Mamie Grace Parker Bell. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dena Bell Driver.

She is survived by her son, James “Vic” Bell (Susan Floyd) of Manchester, TN; grandson, Jacob Dylan Bell of Manchester, TN; and many friends.

LOIS LOUISE HEREFORD, age 85, of North Miami, Florida, departed this life, Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Jackson North Hospital in North Miami.

flower 23She was born on June 16, 1929, in Princeton, Alabama to the late Albert and Florence Walls Hereford.

Ms. Hereford was a New York City fashion model in the clothing industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Ms. Hereford is survived by her remaining sisters; Shirley Hereford of Decherd, Tenn., Betty Jean Walker of the Greenhaw Community, Brenda Johnson and her husband, Charles of Estill Springs, Tenn., Barbara Bouton and her husband, Ernie of Manchester, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 3, 2015, from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Grant Funeral Services.

Services will also be on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Brother Anthony Roberts, officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.

Mr. William A. Davis, age 63 of Manchester, Tennessee passed away, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 2 at 1 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Manchester.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 11 AM until the service time.

Mr. Davis, a native of Sunbright, TN, was the son of the late James A and Nancy Jennings Davis. flower 11

He was a farmer and enjoyed selling vegetables. He also enjoyed working in his yard. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching tele-evangelists.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Davis and two sisters, Glenna Cochran and Betty Thompson.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Karen Davis of Manchester; two sons, William Davis and his wife, Delilah of Manchester and Tim Banks of Ft. Wayne, IN; two daughters, Cathirine Davis Forbes and her husband, Ben of Manchester and Austella Davis of McMinnville; one brother, Willard Davis of Cincinnati, OH; seven sisters, Leona Musser of Cincinnati, OH, Thelma Means and her husband, Charles, Lorene Thompson, Lela Thompson and her husband, Ray, Lule Cooper and her husband, Ray and Effie Monroe and her husband, Emmett, all of Manchester and Eva Bass and her husband, Eddie of Cowan; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Harold “Double H” Harmon, age 77, of Manchester, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tom Watkins officiating.

Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Harmon passed away Tuesday morning at Medical Center of Manchester.

Mr. Harmon was born in Coffee County, TN, the son of the late Joe D. and Cora Pauline Sain Harmon.

He served his country in the United States Army and was a factory worker at Carrier. He was a member of The Bible Methodist Church. Harold loved being with friends, never met a stranger, and loved his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harold was also preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Harmon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Elizabeth Freeze Harmon of Manchester; one daughter, Pam Grenillo of Summitville; one brother, Coleman Harmon of Manchester; one sister, Carletta Alford of Manchester; three grandchildren, Derek Rigsby of Michigan, Andrew Rigsby and Jovin Grenillo, both of Manchester; and one great grandchild, Michael Grenillo.

4/26/15 —- Franklin W. Moran

Mr. Franklin W. Moran, age 74 of Fayetteville, passed this life on Sunday, April 26, at Harton Regional Medical Center, Tullahoma TN.

A native of Manatee County, Florida, he was the son of the late James Leslie Moran and Cornelius Marsay Thomas Moran.

Mr. Moran was a retired asphalt truck driver who enjoyed fishing, watching western movies, and loved spending time with his six grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Mr. Moran is survived by his son, Jason Moran of Fayetteville TN, daughter Janice Moran of Moore Co., sister, Faye, of Dade City, Florida, and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild..

A private family service is scheduled.

Alma Christine Williams Gilliam, age 81 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on April 25, 2015 at the Bailey Manor in Manchester.

She was a dedicated homemaker and a member of the Manchester Church of God.

She was born in Rocky River, TN to her parents, the late Walter Alexander Williams and Lucy Elizabeth Meeks Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Edward “Bud” Gilliam in 2006; brothers, Herbert, Jess, Estel, Charles, J.W. and Harold Williams; and sisters, Marie Boyd, Pauline Harris and Billie Lockhart.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Blessing and her husband Stephen of Manchester, TN; son, Randall Gilliam and his wife Cindy of Manchester, TN; three grandchildren, Benjamin Blessing, Abbie and Lauren Gilliam all of Manchester, TN; sisters-in-law, Faye Williams of Tracy City, TN, Alberta “Bertie” Maqourik of Pelham, TN and Margie Bains Gilliam; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Ruth Bains Gilliam of Greenville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Clorene Trotter Robertson, of Estill Springs, passed this life on Friday, April 24th, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 87.

Mrs. Robertson was born in Slayden, Tennessee to the late Herbert and Lula Potts Trotter.

During her life she worked as a supervisor with the IRS, as well the bookkeeper with her family business, Robertson Jewelers in Nashville.

She was a former member Bellvue Baptist Church and Park Avenue Baptist Church, both in Nashville.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robertson is preceded in death by her husband, James Gardner Robertson Jr.; one brother, Robert Trotter; and two sisters-in-law, Naomi and Maureen Trotter. She is survived by one son, James “Jim” G. Robertson III and his wife Norma J. of Dickson; one daughter, Theresa R. Patton and her husband Jim of Estill Springs; four brothers, Vernon Trotter, Jerry Trotter and his wife Barbara, Earl Trotter and his wife Faye, all of Dickson County, and Murell Trotter and his wife Nell of Clarksville; three grandchildren, James G. “Jay” Robertson IV and his wife Alyssa of Charlotte, Tennessee, Chris Patton and Christey Bonner of Nashville, and Brian Patton and Alison Hardison of Murfreesboro; and two great-grandchildren, Shaylee Lyn Robertson and Finn Alan Patton.

He was born April 6, 1942 to his parents, the late John Robert and Ludie Inez Baltimore Alford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jimmy and Howell Alford.

He attended the Bright Hill United Methodist Church and was retired from the city of Smithville.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda Alford of Smithville; 2 sons, Wesley Nathaniel (Cindy) Alford and Sandy Lee (Toni) Alford both of Manchester; 1 daughter, Christine (Ted) Stoffell of Manchester; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Leonard (Jean) Alford and Kenneth Alford both of Manchester; 1 sister, Peggy (Richard) Arnold of Manchester; 1 half-brother, Terry (Dale) Shelton of Manchester; several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:PM Sunday, April 26, 2015 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wallace Caldwell officiating and burial to follow in Welker Cemetery in Manchester.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday 2:PM until 8:PM and Sunday 11:AM until the time of the service at 2:PM.
