5/24/15 —– Dickie Lee Vickers

Graveside services for Mr. Dickie Lee Vickers, age 67, of Manchester, will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Farrar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will bveteran 2e on Sunday, May 24 from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mr. Vickers passed away on Wednesday at Medical Center of Manchester.

Mr. Vickers was born in Manchester, TN, the son of the late James Horace and Syvilla Pervie Crosslin Vickers.

He was a brick mason for Coleman Brandon.

He served his country in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vickers was also preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Edgar, and Danny Vickers; and two sisters, Gladys Bell and Dean Frizzell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn Shelton Vickers of Manchester; two sons, James Adam Vickers and Charlie Lee Vickers, both of New Smyrna Beach, FL; one brother, Claude Vickers of Chattanooga; and three sisters, Lois Frizzell, Lura Green, and Naomi Morrison, all of Manchester.

5/23/15 —- Carson Brinkley

Funeral services for Mr. Carson Brinkley, age 81, of Estill Springs, TN, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma, TN.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Brinkley passed away Thursday afternoon at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester, TN.

Carson was born in the Prairie Plains community to the late Bill and Gladys Wimbley Brinkley.

He was self-employed and a member of Hillsboro First Baptist Church. Carson’s hobbies included fishing, metal detecting, reading his Bible, and watching westerns. He was an inventor and a mechanic.

In addition to his parents, Carson was also preceded in death by one son, Ricky Brinkley. He is survived by one son, Ronnie (Wanda) Brinkley; five daughters, Phyllis (Tim) Dent, Darlene Khan, Betty (Ronnie) Campbell, Sharon (Vernon Grieves) Brinkley, and Carlene Brinkley; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

5/23/15 —- Freddie Couch

Mr. Freddie Couch, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday morning at his residence.

He was born in Franklin Co., TN to the Clarence and Mary Francis Brunner Couch. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Francis Baxter, Laura Benlley and a brother, Clarence “Bug” Couch Jr.

Mr. Couch was a United States Navy Veteran.

He is survived by a sister, Sue Loftis, nieces and nephews, Terry (Clarence) Cargile, Cam (Tommy) Darden, Greg Gann, Sheila (Bobby) Bird, Tina Holder, Bruce Holder and Jeff Holder.

Funeral services for Mr. Couch will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 11:00 am up to Service time at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Mr. David Watson, of Tullahoma, passed away this past weekend in Shelby Co., TN.

He was born in Tullahoma to the late Dexter and Agnes Woodard Watson.

Mr. Watson was a self employed contractor.

He is survived by his son, Jason Watson, grandchildren, Jenna and Benjamin, brothers, Bobby, Jimmy and Howard Watson, sister, Judy Watson, half brother, Charlie Trawick, half sister, Lisa Trawack and an uncle, William Shelton.

Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Friday at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be Friday from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

5/21/15 —- Katherine “Kathy” Gray Fiske

Funeral services for Katherine “Kathy” Gray Fiske, age 63 of Tullahoma will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Living Water Pentecostal Church in Manchester with Pastor Rick Clouse officiating.

Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Manchester.

Ms. Fiske passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm also at the church.

Katherine Gray Fiske was born on December 5, 1951 in Manchester, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Jesse Benjamin Thompson and Mattie Bell Gray Thompson.

Survivors include her children: Jesse Fiske of Tullahoma and Sheena Martin and her husband Josh also of Tullahoma.

She is also survived by one brother, Jerry Thompson of Manchester.

Ms. Fiske is also survived by five grandchildren: Little Jesse Fiske, William Fiske, Landan Fiske, Xavier Martin and Lilly Martin all of Tullahoma.

She is also survived by countless nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Lanny Edward Fiske Jr. in 1969, one brother: Joe Gail Thompson in 1986 and one sister: Jessie Ruth Gannon in 2004.

5/23/15 —– Ayla Vanee` Howse

Ayla Vanee` Howse, infant daughter of Angela Howse of Norcross, Georgia passed this life on Monday, May 18 at Emory Eastside Hospital in Snellville, Georgia at the age of 13 days.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 23 at 1 PM at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Deborah Peppers officiating.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by grandfather, James Howse of Murfreesboro and grandmother, Vocky Turner of Murfreesboro.

She was preceded in death by great grandmother, Jacqueline Adams.

“In her short life here on earth, she served her purpose and now she’s with her heavenly father.”

5/17/15 —– Russell Leon Smith, Sr.

Russell Leon Smith, Sr., age 84 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on May 17, 2015 at the NHC Health Care Center in Tullahoma.

Mr. Smith was a retired E.M.T. Paramedic and United States Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Smith; and sisters, Yvonne Smith Johnson and Claytie Ruth Smith.

He is survived by his son, Russell Leon Smith, Jr. of Manchester; sisters, Shelva Jean Smith-Poke of Nashville, TN and Charlotte Smith Carpenter of Niles, Michigan; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of friends.

No local public services are scheduled.

5/20/15 —– Ricky L. Earls

Mr. Ricky L. Earls, age 58 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Friday, May 15 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral Serveteranvices will be held Wednesday, May 20 at 3 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Wayne Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 1 PM until service time at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Mr. Earls, a native of Wichita, Texas was the son of the late Billy Joe Earls and Nancy Crosslin Cooper who survives.

Mr. Earls served in the U S Army and had worked as a machinist. He was an ordained Baptist Minister whose passion was helping people. He had worked at the Tony Rice Center in Shelbyville and had obtained his Paralegal Certificate from UT in order to help with legal matters. He also had a great love of animals and enjoyed rescuing and finding homes for stray dogs and cats. One of his favorite hobbies was taking his son and his nieces and nephews fishing.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one sister, Debra Kim Earls.

In addition to his mother, Nancy Cooper of Lewisburg, he is survived by his wife, Brenda Earls of Lewisburg; one son, Dustin Earls of Lewisburg; two step-sons, Jimmy Darnell and his wife, Gidget of Lewisburg and Chris Poarch and his wife, Val of Flat Creek; one sister, Sherri Ghea of Lewisburg and numerous devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the memorial fund at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

5/17/15 —– Noel Diaz

Noel Diaz, of Moore County, passed this life on Sunday, May 17th, 2015 at her residence at the age of 68.

Mrs. Diaz was born in Tampa, Florida to the late William and Joni Reams.

During her life she worked as an LPN with Bedford County Hospital and was a member of Turkey Creek United Methodist Church. She was a great homemaker and enjoyed embroidery and loved her children, grandchildren and her weimaraners.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Diaz is preceded in death by one son, Don A. Diaz Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Don Diaz Sr. of Moore County; one daughter, Holly Ann Monahan of Tullahoma; one son, Daniel William Diaz of Moore County; three grandchildren, Tyler and Mandy Monahan, and Danny Diaz; and several brothers and sisters.

5/19/15 —– Ada Sledge Scott Banks

Ada Sledge Scott Banks, age 91 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on May 17, 2015 at the NHC Health Care Center in Tullahoma.

She was a retired Maintenance Secretary with the Batesviille Casket Company in Manchester and a member of the Antioch Church of Christ in the 16th Model community.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hogan Scott, Jr. and her second husband, Virgil Banks; son, Robert Stephen Scott; and parents, Robert N. Sledge and Sally I. Williams Sledge.

Mrs. Banks is survived by her children, Jennifer K. Goines of Manchester, Gayle Chumbley-Howell and her husband, Reece Howell, III, Marsha Collins and her husband Ralph of Manchester, Mitchell Scott of Manchester and Gary Michael Scott and his wife Tilda of Hillsboro; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
