6/1/15 —- Charlotte W. York

funeral flowerMrs. Charlotte W. York, age 73 of Normandy, Tennessee passed away Friday, May 29th, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 1, at 2:00 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Smith’s Chapel Cemetery in Moore County.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, May 31, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Mrs. York, a native of Moore County, Tennessee, was the daughter of the late Elijah Ward and Maggie Tucker.

She was seamstress at Genesco & Tennessee Apparel. Mrs. York was a member of College Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and helping others. She was always wanting to do something for someone else.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Montgomery and Hazel Burton.

Mrs. York is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, David York; one son, Bobby Hill of Normandy; three daughters, Wanda Smith and husband Tommy of Booneville, Lisa Strickland and husband Danny of Manchester and Alice Brady and husband Mark of Tullahoma; two sisters, Bernice Finney and husband Gordon of Estill Springs and Rebecca Denby and husband John of Tullahoma; nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Charlotte also leaves many special friends.

6/1/15 —- Jonathan Micah Esslinger

Mr. Jonathan Micah Esslinger, age 31 of Manchester, Tennessee passed from this life on Friday, May 29, 2015.

Micah was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Geneva Esslinger, and cousin, Chandler Mitchell.

He is survived by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Lana Esslinger, one brother, Matthew Esslinger and wife Emily who was his “chosen sister” of Manchester, Tennessee, nephew Landon Esslinger of Manchester, Tennessee, grandparents, Thomas Moon and wife Carolyn of Gadsden, Alabama, three aunts, Sherry Harris of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Melissa Mitchell of Augusta, Georgia, Carol Williams of Birmingham, Alabama, one uncle, Richard Moon of Gadsden, Alabama, six cousins, Lauren Hollingsworth and husband John of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Kathryn Gulledge, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mckinlee Mitchell of Augusta, Georgia, Pierce Mitchell of Augusta, Georgia, Mandy Vann of Birmingham, Alabama, and Meghan Vann of Birmingham, Alabama.

Micah attended the World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was employed at Bridgestone for almost ten years. He enjoyed playing piano and guitar and listening to music. Micah was a student at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and he was known to be the biggest fan of Luke Bryan. He liked to hunt and fish but one of his biggest loves in life was being uncle Mickie and spending time with his nephew Landon. Micah treasured time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services for J. Micah Esslinger will be conducted on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brandon Stutts officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.

5/31/15 — CLIFFORD ALLEN MCBEE

CLIFFORD ALLEN MCBEE, age 72, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on January 7, 1943 in Cowan, Tenn. to the late Joe and Tootsie (Vaughan) McBee.

Mr. McBee attended Homeland Baptist Church in Tullahoma, TN. He was an original member of the Tim’s Ford Bass Club and also served as treasurer.

Mr. McBee is survived by his loving wife, Jenny McBee of Winchester, daughters; Pam Emmons and her husband, Mark of Paducah, KY, Tia Watson of Winchester, son, Cliff McBee and his wife JoJo of Lynchburg, TN, grandchildren; Justin, Jonathan and Margaret Emmons of Paducah, KY, Jessica and Madison McBee of South Carolina, Andie Jane Mcbee of Winchester, “Little Buddy” Jonah Watson of Winchester, sister; Debbie Luttrell and her husband, Tommy of Winchester, brothers; David McBee and his wife, Ruth of Cowan, Kevin McBee of Clarksville, TN, and Ricky McBee of Salter, SC.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 30, 2015, from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Grant Funeral Services.

Services will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Jimmy Brazier, officiating.

Interment will follow at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery.

5/28/15 —- JOSEPHINE MCGRIFF NEWMAN

JOSEPHINE MCGRIFF NEWMAN, age 85, of Decherd, Tenn., departed this life peacefully at her residence.

She was born on October 31, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to the late Jefferson and Minerva (Hill) McGriff.

Ms. Newman was of the Catholic faith. She loved to sew and attend family events. flower 13

In addition to her parents, Ms. Newman was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Newman and brother, Jay McGriff.

She is survived by her sons; Steve Newman of Decherd, Tenn., Gary Ringler of Hartville, Ohio, granddaughter, Michelle Henry and her husband, Rich of Massilon, Ohio, grandson, Gary Lee Ringler and his wife, Rachael of Lake St. Mary, FL, special cousin, Martha McGriff Davis of Winchester, Tenn., and her beloved Pekingese, Angel.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

5/30/15 —- JAMES HARRISON “JIM” CROW

JAMES HARRISON “JIM” CROW, age 77, of Winchester, departed this life Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born on December 31, 1937 in Chattanooga, Tenn., to the late Jack and Allien (Potts) Crow.

Mr. Crow was an avid fisherman and loved the Lady Vol’s, FCHS football and college football. He was a mason at Winchester Lodge #158 and a member of the bass club. Most importantly, he was a loving father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Pat Crow.

Mr. Crow is survived by his daughter, Julie Crow of Winchester, Tenn., brother, Phil Crow and his wife, Judy of Winchester, Tenn., 2 grandchildren; Gavin Blair and Nikoma Coker.

Visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Grant Funeral Services.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Ministers Fay and Bratton Tucker, officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.

6/2/15 —- Tommy Joe Bell

flower 4Mr. Tommy Joe Bell, age 74 of Estill Springs passed this life on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Erlanger Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, June 2 at 6 PM at the Church of Christ at Cedar Lane, 1200 Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, TN.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 5 PM until the service time.

Mr. Bell, a native of Tullahoma, was the son of the late Thornton and Maudie Tatum Bell.

Mr. Bell worked as an appliance service tech. Mr. Bell enjoyed working on cars, collecting things and “tinkering”. He also enjoyed fishing and taking pictures.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Allis Bell.

He is survived by two daughters, Tina Bell of Bowling Green and Mary Bell of Estill Springs; one brother, Thornton Bell and his wife, Velma of Tullahoma; one grandson, Ashton Lucas Bell and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Bible League International (Bibles for Africa), 1 Bible League Plaza, Crete, IL 60417.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Jane Wilhoit, age 85, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clint Barnes officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wilhoit passed away in Woodbury Wednesday evening.

Mrs. Wilhoit was born in Manchester, TN, the daughter of the late Richard Lee and Mary Gertrude Brassfield Baltimore.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilhoit was also preceded in death by two husbands, Ruben Hensley Cornelison and Andrew Jackson Wilhoit; two brothers ,Albert and Ernest Baltimore; and one sister, Dottie Mae Walden.

She is survived by two sons, Neal Boyd Cornelison and Ruben Hensley Cornelison, Jr., both of Murfreesboro; four daughters, Trudie Levett Green of Manchester, Emma Ann Moreau, Alma Sue Patterson and Fronia Beatrice Ward, all of Woodbury; one sister, Iona Bell Cornelison of Manchester; ten grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mr. James Kenneth Clark, age 77, of Columbia,
formerly of Manchester, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 30,
2015 at the Manchester City Cemetery.  

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday 
at Manchester Funeral Home.  

Mr. Clark passed this life on Sunday, May 24 at Maury Regional Hospital in
Columbia.

 
Mr. Clark was the son of the late David Clark and Hazel Smoot Clark Norman,
and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ while was living in
Manchester.

Mr. Wallace Layne 63  of Tullahoma passed May 27, 2015 at Life Care Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Layne and Henrietta Powell.

Survived by his children, Chantel Layne of Louisville, Ky; Wallace Layne III of Japan, Nicholas Taylor of Murfreesboro, TN; Sky Layne of Shelbyville, TN; and Jason Honea of Huntsville, Alabama.

Brother– Ervin (Cissy) Layne of Tullahoma, TN;

Four sisters– Delores Warfield of Antioch, TN; Charlotte (John) Glenn of Decherd, TN; Anna Johnson of Tullahoma, TN; Lisa (Eric) Morrow of Murfreesboro, TN.

Per his request, he will be cremated. 

Memorial Services will be set at a later date.

Mr. Henry M. Tripp, age 85 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Lynchburg Nursing Center.flower 23

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 30 at 1 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Joe Rutherford officiating.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 11 AM until service time at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Mr. Tripp, a native of Lincoln County, was the son of the late John Henry and Betty Copeland Tripp.

He was a farmer and had also worked for Tennessee Apparel. Mr. Tripp was a member of Estill Springs United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and playing Dominoes. He loved spending time with family and playing with his grandchildren. He also loved to sing and had a wonderful Bass voice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Al Tripp; one brother, Paul Tripp and two sisters, Mary Rowe and Betty Jean McGehee.

Mr. Tripp is survived by his loving wife, Laverne Tripp of Tullahoma; two sons, David Michael Tripp and his wife, Leslie of Tullahoma and Paul Anthony Tripp and his wife, Cindy of Tullahoma; two daughters, Maxine Taylor and her husband, Dewight of Nashville and Linda Tripp of Tullahoma; one brother, Massey Tripp and his wife, Marilyn of Louisville, KY; one sister, Willie J Halcomb and her husband, Johnny of Georgia and seven grandchildren, Shannon Dacosta and her husband, Jay, Taylor Tripp and his fiancé, Jina, Caitlin and Eryn Tripp, Maggie Taylor and Ian and Aidan Tripp.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Youth Ministry at Estill Springs United Methodist Church, 213 Eastbrook Road, Estill Springs, TN 37330.
