7/27/15 —- Mary Sue Teague

Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Sue Teague, age 97, of Manchester, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Blanton Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Teague passed away Friday morning at Autumn Oaks in Manchester.

Mrs. Teague was born in Manchester, TN, the daughter of the late Sim and Lena Hill Banks.

She was a retail sales clerk at Jenkins & Darwin. She enjoyed gardening, yardwork, flowers, and quilting.

In addition to her parents, Mary Sue was also preceded in death by her husband, flower 24Benjamin Clark Teague, who passed away in 1989.

She is survived by one son, Toney (Linda) Teague of Manchester; one brother, Roy Banks of Plymouth, MI; one sister, Nettie Ruth Sain of Manchester; three grandchildren, Dan, Sean, and Kerry Teague; and three great grandchildren, Kelci Hooie, Cody Teague, and Owen Teague.

7/25/15 —- Ralph Anderson “Andy” Wasson Jr.

Ralph Anderson “Andy” Wasson Jr. of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 71.

Mr. Wasson was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi to the late Ralph Anderson and Murell Walker Wasson Sr.

He was a graduate of Georgia Tech, where he received a degree in Aerospace Engineering and went on to work as a Program Manager with ATA and retired after 35 years at Arnold Engineering Development Center. He was an avid Georgia Tech fan and was a member and elder at First Christian Church in Tullahoma.

Mr. Wasson is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gayle Wasson of Tullahoma; three children, Laura Wasson of Chattanooga, Dr. Clive Wasson and his wife Jessica of Birmingham, Alabama and Andrea Stewart and her husband Jimmy of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; two brothers, Dr. Joe Wasson and his wife Alice of Memphis and Dr. Ken Wasson and his wife Lee of Tallahassee, Florida; and three grandchildren, Hunter, Michael and Miles McLaurin.

Visitation for Mr. Wasson will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2015 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 4:00-8:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 25th, 2015 at 10:30 am at First Christian Church with Rev. Tom Murdock officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

7/16/15 — Peggy N. Myers

Peggy N. Myers, age 66 of Manchester, Tenn., passed away on July 16, 2015 at her home.

She was a retired Insurance Examiner with the state government.

She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline E. Robinson of Natchez, Miss., and Melanie M. Myers of Baton Rouge, La. and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sara Ann Carter, age 74 of Tullahoma, passed away Tuesday July 21, 2015 at a local healthcare facility.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Elsie Reynolds; son Scottie Carter; grandson Jason Baker.

Sara was survived by and will be greatly missed by her son Kent (Lekutta) Carter Sr.; daughters Beverly Baker and Penny Harrell; grandchildren Kent Carter Jr., Jeremy Carter, Justin Carter, Chantel Campbell, Britney Harrell, Kelly Baker, Amanda Baker, April Baker, Betty Joe Baker; great grandchildren Ethan Carter, Elijah Carter, Rylan Turner, Cameron Siebert and many more; brothers Alan(Mary) Reynolds, Stanley Reynolds; sisters Mildred (Wayne) Broadrick, Joan Williams; several nieces and nephews; best friend Debbie Kennedy.

The family will receive friends Friday July 24, 2015 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at College Street Baptist Church with a funeral service to be held at 1:00 pm with Rev. Randall Stevens and Bro. Jim Growden officiating.

7/25/14 —- Claude Hollis Frazier

Claude Hollis Frazier, age 85 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on July 12, 2015 at the Medical Center of Manchester.

Mr. Frazier loved his family and friends and enjoyed yard work, fishing and hunting. He was a supporter of the Cherokee Native American Indian way of life and had served as a Deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church in Shelbyville in his earlier years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Anderson Frazier in 2012; son, Mark Wayne Frazier; parents, James V. Frazier and Willie Josephine Wiser Frazier; four brothers, D.C. Frazier, Wilson Frazier, Howard Frazier and Jesse Frazier.

flower 9Mr.and Mrs. Frazier are survived by their daughter, Claudette J. Frazier King of Manchester, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Josh D. Clark (Britanny Brown) of Manchester, Tenn. and Zach M. King (Carolyn Davis) of Tullahoma, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Frazier is also survived by his two sisters, Jane Frazier Johnson of Manchester, Tenn. and Kathryn Frazier Smittson of Normandy, Tenn.; two brothers, J.V. Frazier (Jenelle) of Normandy, Tenn. and John B. Frazier (Linda) of Manchester, Tenn. Mrs. Frazier, was preceded in death by her son Mark Wayne Frazier; parents, Matt Wilson Anderson, Sr.and Josie Lee Redd Anderson and brother, James A. Brown.

In addition to her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she is also survived by brothers, Charles Anderson (Joyce) of Shelbyville, Tenn. and Matt W. Anderson, Jr. (Sandra) of Winchester, Tenn.

A combined “Celebration of Life ” Memorial Service for both Mr. and Mrs. Frazier, as requested by Mr. Frazier before his death, will be celebrated on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Central Funeral Home in Manchester, Tenn.

7/24/15 —- Nora Celeste Green Waller

Mrs. Nora Celeste Green Waller age 59 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at her residence in Tullahoma.

Funeral service for Mrs. Waller will be Friday, July 24, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.

Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.

Mrs. Waller, a native of San Antonio, Texas was the daughter of the late Norris Green and Elise Rodgers Green. Nora worked as a driver for Medi-Ride Transportation, she was of the Episcopal faith and a member of the Tullahoma Lions Club. Nora loved hosting parties for her many friends. She also enjoyed karaoke, reading, motorcycle riding and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Waller.

Mrs. Waller is survived one daughter; Casey Williams and husband Kerry of Houston, Texas; two sisters; Laura Al-Sayed and husband Zouhair of Cape Giradeau, Missouri and Zoe Harrington. four brothers; Bruce C. Green of Huntsville, Texas, Carl H. Green and wife Linda of El Paso, Texas, Timothy S. Green and wife Lori of El Paso and Patrick Green of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Drake Fitzgerald, Alayah and Prince Williams; one great grandchild, Brooklyn Williams and her dear friend and significant other Carlos Shelton.

Funeral services for Leonard Huston Prater, Jr., age 49 of Manchester, TN will be conducted Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Bob Deason and Brother Forrest Creekmore officiating.

Mr. Prater passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.

Huston was born April 22, 1966 in Cannon County, TN the son of Leonard Huston
Prater, Sr., and Betty Bowen Prater. Affectionately known by family and friends as both nicknames “Scoot” and “Pup”, Huston graduated Manchester Coffee County Central High School in 1984. He was employed with Shoney’s in Columbia, Tullahoma and Manchester. He also worked with his uncle, at Jim Bob Prater Electric for a short time before attending IBEW 429 Apprenticeship where he graduated after four years with the title Journeyman/Wireman. Upon graduation, he was employed with AEDC and then eventually, was employed as an instructor at TCAT-Shelbyville in the field of Industrial Electricity. Huston’s hobbies included watching old western movies; he was a John Wayne fan; he also enjoyed NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordon fan. He had a passion for the Tennessee Vols and was known as a “VFL” Vol for Life; and he enjoyed watching the Tennessee Titans. In earlier years he also enjoyed turkey hunting. His family and abundant ever growing group of close knit friends were always the most important things in Huston’s life. He will forever be missed by all whom he touched throughout his life and all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, H.K. “Ki” Bowen and Wilma Jean Smith Bowen; and paternal grandparents, Joe Prater and Emma Lee Youngblood Prater.

In addition to his parents, Leonard Huston Prater, Sr., and Betty Bowen Prater; Huston is survived by his loving son, Houston Tyler Prater of Knoxville, TN; a brother and sister-in-law, John Thomas Prater and wife, Elizabeth of Brentwood, TN; and a sister, Brandi Bowen Prater Harmon of Manchester; four nieces and nephews, John Mitchell Bowen Prater, Scarlett Elizabeth Prater, Trace David Harmon and Isla Elizabeth Prater. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Mary Louise Duvall and husband, David; Jim Bob Prater and wife, Johnnie; and Betty Jo Brewer; and a host of other relatives and loving friends.

Mrs. Katherine Williams Knott age 91 of Tracy City passed away in her sleep Monday, July 20, 2015 at her home.

She was born in Monteagle, a daughter of the late Robert Jackson “Bob” Rollins and Levester Thomas Rollins and was preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Williams and Frances Lee Knott; son, Billy Joe Williams; grandson, Brian Williams; daughters, Janie Beatrice and Jewellene Williams; sisters, Mary Sitz, Pauline Risley and Dorothy Layne; brothers, Bud, Paul and Dale Rollins.

She is survived by her children, Jannette Phillips, Jasper, Bruce (Carol) Williams, Monteagle, Robert (Reba) Williams, Gruetli-Laager, Kathy (David) Tate, Tracy City, Mary Edith (Dennis) Cook, Tracy City, Danny Ray (Crickett) Williams, Sequatchie, Linda (Eddie) Carson, Jasper; 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Delbert Layne officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Clouse Hill Cemetery.

7/23/15 —- Mary Lou Mullins

Mary Lou Mullins, 82, of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma after an extended illness.

She was born in Jenkins, Kentucky to the late Charles I. and Della Whitaker. flower 26

Mary attended Morehead State and in February 1956, she married her devoted husband, Jimmy, at Chaumont Air Base in France.
After returning to the United States, she and her husband lived in many states during his career in the Air Force. The family finally settled in Tullahoma in 1972. Mary was employed as the first manager of Northgate Mall when it opened in 1976. She also owned the Carousel Ice Cream shop and Toys, Etc. where she earned the name “Dragon Lady” from her employees. She was an avid and excellent seamstress winning eight local and state sewing competitions as a member of The Tullahoma Women’s Club. She loved to travel, especially on cruises, and volunteered for Meals On Wheels for many years.

She was preceded in death by son, Mark Rodney, parents Charles and Della, and two brothers Carl and Tommy.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; daughter, Durinda (Gerry); son Kevin (Robbin); brother, Danny; sister, Diane; and grandchildren Elliott and Claire.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Tullahoma Funeral Home Thursday, July 23, 2015.

A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m.

veteran --- Flag 2Mr. Donnie Lyle Allen, age 86 of Manchester, Tennessee passed from this life on Sunday, July 19, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Everett R. and Maude Louise Scruggs Allen.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Betty Forrest Womack Allen, , two daughters, Cynthia Jo Seabolt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kimberly Rackliff and husband Mark of Indiana, five sons, Jim Allen of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Gerald Ray Allen of Manchester, Tennessee, Michael Douglas Allen and Jennifer of Manchester, Tennessee, Forrest Lee Parton and wife Lisa of Manchester, Tennessee, Steven Allen and wife Cheryl of Knoxville, Tennessee, , five sisters, Gloria Brown and husband David of Morrison, Tennessee, Malinda Taylor of Manchester, Tennessee, Wanda Bailey of Manchester, Tennessee, Patsy Harmon of Morrison, Tennessee, Vivian Benson of Manchester, Tennessee, four brothers, Bobby Allen and wife Sue of McMinnville, Tennessee, Tom Allen and wife Carol of Manchester, Tennessee, Gary Allen and wife Janice of Manchester, Tennessee, John Allen of Manchester, Tennessee, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mr. Donnie Lyle Allen was born on March 21, 1929. He was a native of Summitville, Tennessee and a Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the 82nd Airborne Division serving his country from 1945 until 1953. He was of the Baptist faith. Donnie was one of the leaders and helped to establish the Summitville Volunteer Fire Department and he continued to provide support for this effort for the majority of his adult life. He had been a long term machinist, tool and die maker for MagnaTek Century Electric Incorporated, in addition to establishing his own business, Allen Machine and Tool when he worked for twenty years. Donnie also loved gathering with friends and family, especially large family gatherings with lots of food and a few friendly card games. He had a fascination with railroads and history. His family and his friends were most precious to him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Funeral Services for Mr. Donnie Lyle Allen will be conducted on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Frank Bell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Summitville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.
