8/8/15 —- Janet Elaine Wiser

Janet Elaine Wiser, age 68 of Shelbyville, Tennessee passed away, Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. Thomas West in Nashville.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 8 at 2 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene in Tullahoma.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will also be at First Church of the Nazarene on Friday, Aug 7 from 5 – 8 PM and Saturday, Aug 8 from 12 – 2 PM.

Mrs. Wiser, a native of Bryan, OH was the daughter of the late Dale and Vivian Grimm Kintner.

She was a registered nurse for 40 years, graduating in 1972 from Olivet Nazarene University with her degree in Nursing. She had a special love for people who were in the later years of life and worked in home health and nursing homes. On August 31, 1974 she married her loving husband of 41 years, Oral Dwight Wiser. Jan was never able to have children of her own, so she and her husband raised four children through foster care and adoption.

Mrs. Wiser was a member of the Mt. Hermon Church of the Nazarene and an ordained Deacon in the Church of the Nazarene. She loved to teach Sunday School and pre-school children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Patty.

In addition to her husband, Dwight Wiser of Shelbyville, she is survived by her flower 11children, Bruce Wiser of Dixon Springs, TN, Christina Hobbs, Rebecca Bell and Bobby Tanner all of McMinnville, TN; one brother, Alan Kintner and his wife, Julie of Fredricktown, OH; two sisters, Ann Scott and her husband, Mac of Talford, PA and Joyce Horn and her husband, Bob of Cannon City, CO; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

8/4/15 ——- CLARICE ELEANOR “JAKE” GUARD

CLARICE ELEANOR “JAKE” GUARD, age 72, of Decherd, Tenn., formerly of New York, departed this life, Tuesday, August 4, 2015, peacefully at her residence.

Ms. Guard was born in Clifton Springs, New York on July 14, 1943, to the late Clarence and Doris Peace Guard.

She was of the Methodist faith. While raising her children she was a homemaker. When her children were grown she was employed as a seamstress at Balcom Upholstery Company in Shreveport, LA. Her last place of employment was at the flower 24Family Dollar Store in Haughton, LA. Ms. Guard’s hobbies included sewing, knitting, fishing, gardening, and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Sharon Smithson, sister-in-law, Lee Guard, grandson, Joshua Short, great great great grandson, Aaden Potter.

Ms. Guard is survived by her children; Jody (Larry) Abbitt of Shreveport, La., Steven (Grace) Kretchmer of Pace, Fla., Robert Kretchmer of Decherd, Tenn., Gary (Lori) Kretchmer of Winchester, Tenn., Shelly (Jason) Shoebrock, Shreveport, La., Paul Kretchmer (Wesley Decontie) of Manor, Tx, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

8/6/15 —- Esther Pauline Brothers

Mrs. Esther Pauline Brothers, age 94 of Manchester, Tennessee passed from this life on Monday, August 3, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Brothers was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Ernest W. Brothers, parents, Robert and Lola Stacey Parker, son Larry Brothers, sister, Wardine Parker, and brother McKinley Parker.flower 26

She is survived by one daughter, Vivian B. Henley and husband Ed of Manchester, Tennessee, one brother, Kittrell Parker and wife Pairlee of Manchester, Tennessee, daughter-in-law, Georgie Latture, daughter-in-law, Brenda Brothers, six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Mrs. Brothers was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Manchester, Tennessee. She was an avid church goer and her grandchildren and family were most precious to her. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, flower gardening, quilting and it was said that everything she touched grew. Mrs. Brothers was a member of the Home Demonstration Club for many years. She was a fabulous cook and homemaker. Her faith and her family were her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Pauline Brothers will be conducted on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mark Barron officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.

8/6/15 —- Earl Eugene (Gene) Anspach

Earl Eugene (Gene) Anspach, 82,of Tullahoma, TN passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 3rd, 2015 after battling a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6th, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cherisna Jean-Marie officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-3:00 pm prior to the funeral service.

Gene was born April 4, 1933 and was raised in Poplar Bluff, Missouri where he graduated high school, and was a star baseball pitcher–Gene received an offer letter from the Brooklyn Dodgers. Instead of pursuing baseball after high school Gene joined the Coast Guard and served as radio operator on the cutter Escanaba (1946, WPG / WHEC-64) where he developed a talent and desire for electronics. After that Gene married Roberta Rebecca Marlin and earned his BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Missouri School of Mines where he was a charter member & officer of the social fraternity Delta Sigma Phi, MS Degree in Electrical Engineering from the UTSI and a MS Degree in Engineering Management from the Vanderbilt University. Gene worked at  AEDC from 1958 until he retired in 1995 with a year-long career change in New Orleans’s, LA while working on his Vandy degree and another year in Gallatin, TN as co-owner/officer of a luxury houseboat manufacturer. Gene was an avid golfer and a lifelong member of the First Christian Church where he loved to sing in the choir as well as frequent solos.veteran

Gene was preceded in death by his parents Earl & Poly (Prewitt) Anspach, sister  Judy, brothers Jerry and Johnny as well as an infant sister Earline.

Survivors include wife Roberta Marlin Anspach of Tullahoma, TN, two sons Earl Gregory (Carol) Anspach of Winchester, TN, Keith Marlin Anspach of Tullahoma, TN, granddaughter Allison (Will) Carpenter, grandson Kyle Gregory Anspach and great-granddaughter Audrey Kate Carpenter, as well as several nieces and nephews.

8/10/15 —- Olive Marie “Dimples” Brent

Olive Marie “Dimples” Brent, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, August 3rd, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.

Mrs. Brent was born in Scott City, Kansas to the late Eli S. and Olive E. Thomas Poulignot and grew up in St. Francis, Kansas.

After getting married, she and her husband Roy H. Brent lived in Texas. She worked for The Travelers in Houston, Texas as an accounting clerk where she later retired. She was an accomplished seamstress and at one point raised show rabbits for which she won many ribbons. She loved watching sports on TV and playing Sudoku. Her greatest joys however were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson. Mrs. Brent moved to Tullahoma in 2009 where she became a member of First Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. Brent; one daughter, Jeanne Sapp; one son, Thomas Roy Brent Sr.; three brothers, Eli, George and Howard Poulignot; and two sisters, Lillus Mace and Billie Mients.

Mrs. Brent is survived by one daughter, Olivia A. Evans and her husband Bruce of Normandy, Tennessee; two sisters, Dixie Curry and her husband Charles of St. Francis, Kansas, and Hattie Terry, also of St. Francis, Kansas; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday August 10th, 2015 at Brenham Memorial Chapel in Brenham, Texas. Burial will follow at Oak Rest Cemetery.

8/7/15 —- Nelson Harris

Mr. Nelson Harris, beloved husband, father, Pa, brother, and friend to many passed from this life on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the age of 78.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Richard Harris, Sr. and Rosa Lee Riddle Harris, and one sister, Elizabeth M. Parmley.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Barbara Rose Harris, one son Daniel Nelson Harris and wife Janet, two grandsons, Nathaniel and Joshua, one daughter, Kelly June Harris, one sister, Lula Madge Harris, and one brother, Willie Richard Harris, Jr.

Mr. Nelson Harris was a retired United States Navy and Vietnam War veteran and participant in Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica. After serving his country, he and his family returned to Tennessee where he began and retired from his second career at BF Goodrich in Tullahoma. As the neighborhood handyman, he happily offered his help to friends and neighbors whenever needed, teaching and reminding us all that in life it is more important to give than to take. Loved by many, he will be missed by all.

8/5/15 — Michael Scott TeVruch

Michael Scott TeVrucht, age 46, passed away on Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 after a heroic two year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Michael was born on March 15th, 1969, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.

A graduate of MTSU with a marketing degree, he was presently employed as Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer at American City Bank. While at MTSU, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and has remained close friends with many of his fraternity brothers. Organizations he was involved in included the Tullahoma Rotary Club, attaining a Paul Harris Fellowship and Tullahoma Chamber of Commerce.

He was a member First United Methodist Church, where he was previously on the board of trustees. He loved his family, his job, farming, the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Vols football.

Michael married the love of his life, Brooke Leigh Williams on June 25th, 1994 in Blountville, Tennessee.

Survivors include his wife, Brooke TeVrucht; son, Mason TeVrucht; daughter, Mallory TeVrucht; parents, Jerry and Barb TeVrucht; mother-in-law, Jill Williams; brother, Mark TeVrucht and his wife Ann; brother-in-law, Brent Williams and his wife Becca; nieces, Sophia, Gigi, and Phoebe Williams; and nephews, Jared TeVrucht and Kai Williams. Michael was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Henry Williams.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 at First United Methodist Church from 3:00-7:00 pm with a memorial service to immediately follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Paul Purdue officiating.

Charles “Tony” Pruitt, age 47 of Morrison, Tennessee, passed away on August 1, 2015.

He was a Business Agent, USW Local 1155, at Bridgestone, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Jo Weiger Pruitt.

Tony is survived by his children, Kasey N. Muncey (Tim) of Morrison, Tenn., Nathan L. Pruitt, Chase M. Pruitt and Colton B. Pruitt all of Manchester, Tenn.; the mother of his children, Lana Pruitt; father, Edwin Pruitt of Wildersville, Tenn.; sisters, Peggy Johnson (Mike) of Edwardsville, Illinois and Mandy Moore of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Brian Pruitt (Kim) of Charleston, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Natalie D. Clifford Wayne Smith of Tullahoma passed this life on Saturday, August 1 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 51.

A native of Tullahoma, he was a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on cars, NASCAR, watching street outlaw TV shows and the history channel.

Clifford was preceded in death by his father Charles Wayne Smith and one brother, Darrell Franklin Smith.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia; his mother Mary Smith; two daughters, Tina Deu and husband Robert of Chesterton, Indiana and Tonya Smith of Tullahoma and two sisters, Anita Vines and her husband, Tim of Hammond, In and Martha Boyd and her husband, Thomas of Tullahoma.

Mrs. Cornelison, a native of Altamont, Tennessee was the daughter of the late Alf Anderson and Vivian Byers Anderson.

She worked at Carrier Manufacturing. Linda enjoyed her flower gardens and fishing.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Hammers and Tina Anderson.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her loving husband Grover Hill; one daughter, Vickie Anderson of Manchester; one step daughter, Shannon Edwards; two brothers, Scottie Anderson and wife Bobbie of Hillsboro, Tennessee and Montie Anderson of Altamont, Tennessee and two grandchildren, Cassey Anderson and Steven Edwards.
