8/18/15 —- Tennie Sue Millraney

Funeral services for Mrs. Tennie Sue Millraney, age 75 of Manchester, will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 1pm at Manchester Funeral Home with Brad McAfee officiating.

Visitation with the Millraney family will be Monday, August 17 from 5 pm to 9 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Tennie passed away Saturday at Unity Medical Center.

Tennie was born to the late Rufus and Pauline Reed Phillips on January 16, 1940 in Grundy County. She loved spending time with her family and worked for Wal-Mart for 31 years.

In addition to her parents, Tennie was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Ed Phillips, and two sisters, Margaret Phillips Gold and Frances Phillips Fox.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Millraney; son, Clark (Kelli) Millraney; grandchildren, Chris Millraney and Michael (Maggie) Millraney; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Memphis Millraney;

three brothers, Paul Phillips, Don (Debbie) Phillips, and Jim (Pam) Phillips; one sister Ellen Phillips Vaughn.

8/18/15 —- Nina Hester Manning

Nina Hester Manning, 97, died Thursday, August 13th at Hill View Health Care Center in Portsmouth, Ohio after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 18th. 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma with Rev. Paul Purdue presiding.

Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, August 17th at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

She was a native of Alabama and had lived many years in Chattanooga before moving to Tullahoma, where she was a longtime resident. She relocated to Hill View Retirement Center in Portsmouth four years ago to be closer to her family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jobe Thomas (JT) Hester and Carl Manning, Sr., four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by sons Tom (Sandra) Hester, Lucasville, Ohio, David Hester, Winchester, Kentucky, Joe (Barbra) Manning Senatobia, Mississippi, and Carl (Dana) Manning Jr., Kansas City Missouri, three grandsons, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted Methodist and true Southern lady who enjoyed cooking, socializing, needlework, crossword puzzles, reading, church work, and bridge until physical limitations curtailed those pleasures. She, also, enjoyed watching the University of Tennessee and University of Alabama football games as well as the NFL Tennessee Titans. She was retired from the Materials Division of the Arnold Engineering Center in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

The family appreciates the health care and services provided by the Southern Ohio Medical Center and Hill View Retirement Center medical staffs.

8/15/15 —- Ricky Dale Bennett

Graveside services for Mr. Ricky Dale Bennett, age 53, of Manchester, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Fredonia Cemetery with Bro. Steve Anderson officiating.

Ricky passed away on Friday, August 14 at his residence.

Ricky was born in Coffee County, TN, the son of the late Howard Bennett and Nancy Trail Bennett, who survives.

He was a factory worker at Calsonic, loved hunting, trapping, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Ricky was also preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Hill Bennett.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy Trail Bennett of Manchester; three sons, MacKenzie, Zachary, and Bailey Bennett, all of Manchester; two daughters, flower 7Jacquie Bennett of AL and Beth (Adam) Reece of Manchester; two brothers, Roger Bennett of Manchester and Robert Bennett of Winchester; and four grandchildren, Torey Johnson, Tyler Bennett, Jada Adams, and Jacob Reece.

8/16/15 — Dorothy Ann Davis

Dot Davis of Tullahoma passed this life surrounded by Family and Friends on August 14, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center at age 85.

Dot was born September 16, 1929 in Christiana, TN, to the late Ras Jones and Margaret Faulk.

Dot was of the Baptist Faith. Dot had a kind and generous heart, and always brought joy and love to those she met.

She is survived by two sons Terry (Susan) Davis and Michael D. Davis both of Tullahoma, TN. She also leaves her brother Ronnie (Mary Alice) Lokey of Bell Buckle TN, granddaughter Brittney (Jason) Sells, great grandchildren Joe, Luke, and Caleb Sells of Lynchburg TN and Nate Kitzmiller of Kingsport TN, granddaughters Karen Billingsley Kitzmiller(Matt) of Kingsport, TN and Carol Billingsley Marrs (Clayton)of Chattanooga, TN.

She was preceded in death by husband Doyle Lee Davis, grandson Houston Davis, two brothers Sam and Robert (Casey) Jones, and four sisters: Estell Jones, Louise Bynum, Katie Lee Spence, and Frances Bryan.

Special life-long friend Peggy Banks of Normandy, TN brought Dot so much joy.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. William Sanders and his wife Debbie.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Davis will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday at flower 13Tullahoma Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM on Sunday.

Mrs. Dorothy Louise King, age 70, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at NHC in Tullahoma.

Services will be Monday, August 17th at 3:00 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 1:00 PM until time of service.

A native of Imboden, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hurtis Horner and Rose Hall Horner.

Louise was a spiritual lady with a very strong faith and a true prayer warrior. She enjoyed watching CSI and NASCAR on TV, she loved to play cards and was fiercely competitive. Louise loved to take pictures, she also enjoyed collecting owls, birds, deer and chickens. She loved the holidays and spending time with her family she loved so dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother; Joe Horner, one sister; Wilma Jean Vocke and one grandchild; Jessica King.

She is survived by her husband; Ralph King of Manchester, two sons; Ron King and Bob King and his wife Brandi both of Manchester, two brothers; Larry Horner and wife Pam and Donald “JL” Horner both of Lee County, Virginia, five sisters; Linda Arnette and husband Thomas of Wise County, Virginia, Teresa Wells of Lee County, Virginia, Judy Carter of Wise County, Virginia, Billy June Ramsey and husband Billy of Mt. PHYLLIS MAE TURNER ARGRAVES, age 82 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away August 13, 2015 at the Unity Medical Center in Manchester.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Argraves, Sr. in 2006; and parents, Walter Turner and Ada Bellflur Turner.

Phyllis is survived by her three children, Eugene Argraves, Jr. of Pennsylvania, Robert Argraves, Sr. of Manchester, Tennessee and Betty Argraves Cummings of Manchester, Tennessee.

Betty Jane Cawood, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, August 12th, 2015 at her residence at the age of 76.

Mrs. Cawood was born in Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Otis and Minnie Halcomb Lewis.

During her life she worked as a registered nurse for Internal Medicine and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Tullahoma. She also was a volunteer for Partner’s for Healing and Attic Outlet.

Mrs. Cawood is survived by her husband Tommy Cawood of Tullahoma; one son, Mike Cawood of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two daughters, Sharon Northcutt and her husband John of Knoxville, Tennessee and Carol Schoenrock and her husband Daron of Collierville, Tennessee; three sisters, Nancy Proffitt and her husband Paul of Cincinnati, Ohio, Charity Metcalfe and her husband Dale of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Lunelle Morris and her husband Vic of Corbin, Kentucky; one brother, Bill Lewis and his wife Connie of Putney, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Trey Northcutt, Erik Schoenrock, and Bret Schoenrock.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14th, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Mr. Joe M. Eslick, age 65, a resident of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday August 11, 2015 at his residence.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, from 6 PM until 9 PM.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2 PM at the Lynchburg Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Mike Awalt and Bro. Richard Wagner officiating.

Burial will follow at Booneville Cemetery.

Mr. Eslick was the son of the late Horace Eslick Jr. and Laura Sullivan.

He graduated from Moore County High School in Lynchburg. He worked at the Moore Co Co-Op for 43 years. Mr. Eslick loved working in his yard, farming, showing his mules, and taking them to parades. He loved Falcon football, talking to people, and knew everyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Margie Lynn Eslick.

Mr.Eslick is survived by brothers Clayton (Tonna) Eslick, and Dale (Rita) Eslick of Lynchburg; by special friend, Barbara Faulkner of Fayettevile; nephews Chad Eslick, of Lynchburg, Jay Riddle of Shelbyville; nieces Christy Hollingsworth, and Emma Eslick, both of Fayetteville; great nephews Landon Taylor, Kristopher Eslick, and Anthony Eslick; great nieces Kinley Hollingsworth. Glinda Elaine Roberts Schmidt, age 61 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away at her home on August 10, 2015.

She was a Teacher’s Aide at College Street Elementary and the Church Organist at the Rutledge Falls Baptist Church.

Glinda was born in McMinnville, Tenn. to her mother, the late Maymie Ruth Miller Roberts and her father, Cosmo Roberts of Manchester, Tenn. who survives.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, George W. Schmidt of Manchester, Tenn.; daughter, Angela N. Wendorf and her husband Tanner of Manchester, Tenn.; sister, Deborah A. Kirk of Manchester, Tenn.; brother, Clifford R. Roberts of Manchester, Tenn.; Karen Kuiper, Jeremiah Kirk, Kasey Taylor and Joyce Young; nieces, Briana Roberts and Chelsye Tarpley; great nieces Thalyia and Melanie Tarpley; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Chapman, of Tullahoma passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma.

A native of Wynne, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Harold Watson and Jessie Glass Watson.

She worked for Trinity Adult Care. Mrs. Chapman was of the Baptist faith, she loved reading and writing and spending time on the internet. Her hobbies included crafts, crocheting and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice and Debra Watson.

She is survived by one son; Dustin Chapman of Franklin, West Virginia, three daughters; Margaret and husband Jason Green of Tullahoma and Sarah Dumas both of Tullahoma and Robin Smith and husband Peter of Scotland, one brother; Robert Watson of San Antonio, Texas, one sister; Mary Alice Davis of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
