8/21/15 —- Martha Josephine Fulbright Semmes

Martha Josephine Fulbright Semmes entered the kingdom of Heaven peacefully on August 19, 2015 and is now living the promise of her salvation. We wish to celebrate the life she lived by remembering her smile, warmth, and love for her family and friends.

A native of Bradley County, Mrs. Semmes was a 1958 graduate of Bradley County High School and 1962 graduate of the University of Chattanooga. She moved to Tullahoma in 1964 with her husband, Dr. Frank Wilson Semmes after he had purchased the optometry practice of the late Dr. Edwin L. Barber in October of that same year. Mrs. Semmes with her degree in Elementary Education pursued her passion for teaching and worked for Robert E. Lee Elementary as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher for several years. While at the University of Chattanooga, Marty was a member of Chi Omega sorority. Marty also had a passion for tennis, golf, and was a proud supporter of the University of Tennessee football team and men’s and women’s basketball teams and could be heard cheering Go Vols with great fervor during these sporting events. She was also a huge fan of any/all 50’s music and could be found often singing and dancing in her family’s living room.

She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Frank Semmes, her parents, Mary Fulbright & Judge Mark Fulbright; sisters, Elinor Ledford of Cleveland, TN and Rochelle O’Connor, Schaumburg, IL. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Hamby and her husband, Craig from Murfreesboro and daughter, Cindy Syphax and her husband Mike from Orlando. Marty’s granddaughters, Emily Grayson and Presley Elizabeth Hamby, grandson, Luke Syphax. Nephew, Jon Semmes of Dunnellan, FL, niece, Stefanie Gramlich, Dunnellan, FL and Dale Ledford, nephew, Cleveland, TN.

We want to let her know that she did a great job as a wife, mother and grandmother and friend while on earth. We will always remember her ability to make everyone she met feel like an old friend. And through her faith and assurance of eternal salvation she has a new, healthy and vibrant body when she entered the kingdom of Heaven.

Friends may visit with the family Friday afternoon at Tullahoma funeral home from 11a.m to 1 p.m with a memorial service to follow. Dr. George Jackson and his wife, Betty officiating.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to sincerely thank and recognize NHC Healthcare of Murfreesboro and Caris Healthcare for the excellent service, love and support Mrs. Semmes and her family received during her stay.

8/22/15 —— Lisa Gail Willmore Angelica

Lisa Gail Willmore Angelica, age 55 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away into rest on August 18, 2015 at the St. Thomas – Rutherford Medical Center in Murfreesboro.

She was a Billing Specialist with the NHC System and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles LaDue, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Vincent Angelica of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; daughter, Amanda Fletcher and her husband Adam of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and her father, Bruce Dunn; parents, Charles and Julia Rogers Willmore of Manchester, Tenn.; sister, Ann Johnson and her husband Roger; brother, Steve Willmore and his wife Dawn; grandsons, Ian & Caleb Fletcher; and a host of other relatives and friends.

8/22/15 —- Luella Irene Chumbley

Graveside services for Luella Irene Chumbley, age 83, of Smyrna, TN will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Ragsdale Cemetery with Bro. Horace Lee Jacobs officiating.

Burial will follow. Mrs. Chumbley passed away Wednesday morning at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN.

Irene was born in Limestone County, AL, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Lovell Carter.

She served her country in the United States Navy and was a factory worker at Freedom Industries, as well as a housewife. She loved reading, watching football veteran --- Flag 2and living life to the fullest.

In addition to her parents, Irene was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard James Chumbley and one sister, Nell Weegar.

She is survived by two sons, Jim (Andrea) Chumbley and Doyle Chumbley, both of Manchester; one daughter, Margaret (Randall) Rogers of Manchester; one brother, Morris (Linda) Carter of Lavergne; one sister, Jean Dial of Crossville; one sister-in-law, Beverly Chumbley of Manchester; five grandchildren, Amber, Joseph, Christopher, Kyle, and Jamie; two great grandchildren, Harper and Claire; and numerous nieces and nephews.

8/20/15 —- WALTER “RED” SIMPSON

WALTER “RED” SIMPSON, age 75, of Mulberry, TN. passed away Monday August 17, 2015 at his residence.

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Walter Roosevelt Simpson and Evelyn Buchanan.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Simpson of Mulberry.

Mr. Simpson loved farming, livestock and his crops. In addition to these activities, Mr. Simpson also worked as a bull-dozer operator and had been contracted on many jobs in the area. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his farm.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Simpson is also survived by a son, Brian Simpson of Mulberry; daughter Nickie Mann (Scotty) of Mulberry; step-daughter Tracy Anderson (Jeff) of Tullahoma; two brothers Tom Simpson and Randy Simpson, both of Shelbyville; sisters Emma Hardin and Dottie Taylor of Fayetteville, Ella Ray Haddox (Charlie) of Texas, and Cora Bowman of Shelbyville.

Mr. Simpson is also survived by five grandchildren: Aidan Simpson, Lily Foster, Sloan Mann, Sage Mann, and Satchel Mann; and two step- grandchildren: Kayla White (Dennis), and Tabitha Staples (Oliver).

In addition to his parents, Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by a sister Wanda Kay Shelton.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday August 19, 2015 from 5~8 pm at the Lynchburg Funeral Home.

Services will be held in chapel of the funeral home Thursday at 2 pm.

8/18/15 —- RANDALL ROBERT SCIVALLY

RANDALL ROBERT SCIVALLY, age 81, of Huntland, Tenn., departed this life, Sunday, August 16, 2015, peacefully at his residence.

He was born on December 29, 1933, in Elora, Tenn., to the late Clyde and Ruth Locker Scivally.

Mr. Scivally served two terms as alderman in Huntland, Tenn. He was a business owner for more than 50 years, his last business was the Wholesale Auto Parts located on Main Street in Huntland, Tenn.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Scivally was preceded in death by his son, Randy Scivally and brother, Hoyte Scivally.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jeanette Scivally of Huntland, Tenn., grandson, Garland Scivally and his wife, Kim of Huntland, Tenn., great-granddaughters; Kailee and Gracie Scivally both of Huntland, Tenn., great- grandson, Kris Hall and his wife, Kelsey of Huntland, Tenn., great-great-grandsons; Knox and Axel Hall, daughter, Shelia Stewart of Huntland, Tenn.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Huntland First Baptist Church.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held also on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at 7:00 P.M. from the chapel of Huntland First Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Robertson, officiating.

8/16/15 —- Robert Ray Myers

Robert Ray Myers, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Sunday, August 16th, 2015 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville at the age of 83.

Mr. Myers was born in Elnora, Indiana to the late Raymond R. and Helen Paul Myers.

He served his country in the United States Air Force and tested missiles in Korea, Germany and Hawaii for Ford Aerospace and worked with NASA on the Apollo and Space Shuttle projects.

He married his wife, Louella Bossong Myers, who survives on January 29th, 1955 and they were married for 60 years.

Mr. Myers worked as an Aeronautical Engineer for Boeing, and loved airplanes, trains, building his model railway and woodworking.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Myers is survived by one daughter, Kari Myers of Tullahoma; two grandchildren, Krystal D’Anne Looney of Knoxville and Kristopher Dylan Myers of Tullahoma; and his beloved cat Patches.

8/20/15 —- Travis Lee Daniel

Travis Lee Daniel, age 35 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on August 16, 2015.

Travis was a logger / farmer with Daniel’s Farms. He was one of the most humble people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. He was so much like his “Pa” Lonnie Daniel, Jr. Travis loved everyone and was loved by everyone, no one could ever take his place.

Travis was preceded in death by his father, Dale Edward Daniel in 2015 and paternal grandparents, Lonnie & Ruth Daniel and maternal grandfather, Ed Carter.

Funeral services for Mrs. Iona Bell Cornelison, age 88, of Manchester, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wade West officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cornelison passed away Monday morning at Manchester Healthcare.

Iona was born in Chattanooga, TN, the daughter of the late Richard Lee and Mary G. Brassfield Baltimore.

She was a seamstress at Eden Industries. She attended Common Salvation in Manchester and Believer’s House of Worship in Hillsboro. Iona enjoyed sewing, making quilts, gardening, canning, and fishing.

In addition to her parents, Iona was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Horace Buddie Cornelison; two brothers, Albert and Earnest Baltimore; and two sisters, Dottie Walden and Emma Wilhoit.flower 24

She is survived by four sons, Buddie (Glenda Kay) Cornelison, Alexander Cornelison, Kenneth Ray Cornelison, and Ted Mark (Laura) Cornelison, all of Manchester; two daughters, Jane Watters of Hillsboro and Dorothy (Melvin) Ott of Morrison; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.

8/15/15 —- Kenneth Joe Neal

Kenneth Joe Neal, age 63 of Manchester, Tennessee passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Fayetteville Care & Rehab in Fayetteville, TN.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, from 12 PM until the service time.

Mr. Neal, a native of Lynchburg, TN was the son of the late Ed Neal and Sarah Pherenton Dorsett of Tullahoma.

He had worked as an orderly at Harton Regional Medical Center. He enjoyed listening to music, watching TV and he was a great conversationalist.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty “Perline” Swoape Neal.

In addition to his mother, Sarah Dorsett of Tullahoma, he is survived by one son, Billy Neal of Nashville, one daughter, Kathy Winton of Manchester, brothers, Jerry Dorsett and his wife, Katie and Thomas Dorsett and his wife Diane, both of Tullahoma; step brother, Harold Dorsett and his wife, Barbara of Tullahoma; sisters, Jessie McGuffey and Sarah Ann Anderson of Tullahoma and Betty Sue Dorsett of Manchester.

Samuel Charles Snyder

Samuel Charles Snyder, age 20 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 19th at 2:00 PM in the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, August 19th from 12:00 to time of  service.

Sam, a native of Ft. Collins, Colorado has lived in Tullahoma the past 10 years.

He worked as a machine tool setter at Chassix in Shelbyville, Tennessee. He enjoyed making knives, riding his motorcycle, kayaking, weight lifting and visiting friends. Sam attended First Baptist Church and Christian Fellowship Church both in Tullahoma.

In addition to his parents, Richard and Brenda Snyder he is survived by three brothers; Benjamin who is serving in the U.S. Army in Washington State, Joshua and Alijah both of the home; maternal grandmother, Virginia Walker of Hoover, Alabama; paternal grandfather Eugene Snyder of Ridgeway, South Carolina as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
