9/19/15 — Lula Marie Fish

flower 26Lula Marie Fish, age 65 of Tullahoma passed away Friday September 11, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center. Marie was a long time employee of Genesco/SAS and worked in the mail room of the Tullahoma News. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Annabelle East and sister Lucille E. Walker.

Marie is survived by her loving husband Peter Fish; sons Derek and Jeremy Fish; daughter Amy Donelson; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers Charles, Woodrow and Eugene East

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 12:00pm Saturday September 19, 2015 with a celebration of life service to be held at 12:00pm at Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.

9/16/15 — Zada Ruth Munsey Sellars

flower 21Funeral services for Mrs. Zada Ruth Munsey Sellars, age 80, of Manchester,
will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Manchester
Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Benny Benjamin officiating. Burial will
follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be
from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mrs.
Sellars passed away peacefully at Horizon Health & Rehab in Manchester,
following an extended illness.

Zada was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Roy and Willie
Mildred Arnold Munsey. She graduated from Manchester Central High School
and was a member of the Zeta Alpha Epsilon sorority, where she enjoyed the
fellowship of playing cards and making cookbooks with her sorority sisters.
She was the first bank teller of AEDC Federal Credit Union when the
satellite office in Manchester opened and also worked at Coffee County Bank
as a teller. Zada spent many years working with her brother at Leroy Munsey
Studios. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and enjoyed watching and attending
University of Tennessee and Tennessee Titans football games.

In addition to her parents, Zada was also preceded in death by her loving
husband of 46 years, Alton L. Sellars, Jr. She is survived by three
daughters, Debbie (Dennis) Jeter of McMinnville, Brenda (Gary) MacDonald of
Sequatchie, TN, and Sandy G. Sellars of Murfreesboro; one brother, Leroy
(Shelia) Munsey of Manchester; three grandchildren, Dr. J. Ashley Jarrell,
Hunter MacDonald, Mallory (Cody) Pell, and special grandson, Damon Padilla;
two great grandchildren, McKinley Pell and Hattie Mae Pell; several nieces
and nephews; and a host of special friends.

flower 14Elizabeth Harper Arney, age 88, passed away into rest on September 14,
2015 at her home in Manchester, Tennessee. She was a retired Pre-school
Teacher and member of the First United Methodist Church in Manchester.
Mrs. Arney was preceded in death by her husband, George Donald Arney,
Jr.; grandchild, Stephen Keith Kopala; parents, James Garland Harper and
Lula Florence Henson Harper; and brothers, Prentice Harper and Jim
Harper. She is survived by her daughters, Jean C. Kopala of Denver,
Colorado, Jane B. Bonham of Manchester, Tenn., and Jennifer J. Banks and
her husband David of Manchester, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Tai Jones,
Brooke Bonham, Faith Bonham, Chelsea Banks, Tyler Banks, Hayley Banks and
Ashleigh Stewart; six great-grandchildren, Leevi Jones, Hunter Ramos,
Savannah Jones, William Stewart, Tabitha Stewart, and Roman Stewart; and
a host of other relatives and friends.

9/19/15 — Tilford J.C. Holland

flower vase 2Mr. Tilford J.C. Holland age 95 passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist, Tullahoma, Tennessee with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Holland a native of Tullahoma was the son of the late John and Mary
Eaesly Holland. Mr. Holland served in the U.S. Army, he was a truck driver
for Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma. He enjoyed watching sports on TV,
doing lawn work, cooking and taking care of his family. Mr. Holland was a
member of Stephens Chapel United Methodist Church in Manchester, TN.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Olivia Holland; one son Ronald Holland and wife Alma of Manchester; three grandchildren, Reginald McReynolds of Decker, Shawn Dartis of Manchester, Seandra Dartis McCullough of Portland, TN.

9/16/15 — Ralph Orien Gentry

flower 11Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Orien Gentry, age 82, of Manchester, will be
conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Manchester Funeral
Home Chapel with Bro. Benny Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow in
Fredonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until
8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Gentry passed away
Sunday morning at NHC in Murfreesboro, TN.

Ralph was born in Coffee County, TN the son of the late Arnold Luke and
Minnie Elrod Gentry. He served his country in the United States Army during
the Korean War and was an electrical engineer and supervisor at AEDC. Ralph
was one of the few members of “IEEE”, Institute of Electrical Electronics &
Engineers, which is a national organization; a member of the Nashville &
Kentucky Steel Guitar Association; a facilitator of Steven Covey’s Seven
Habits of Highly Effective People; a member of Dale Carnegie Leadership
Institute; as well as a member of American Management Association.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was also preceded in death by one brother,
Roy Arnold Gentry. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Lou
Reece Gentry of Manchester; one son, Robb (Carla) Gentry of Franklin, TN;
two daughters, Kathy (Randy) McCormick of Hillsboro and Jeanne (David)
Spencer of Tullahoma; eight grandchildren, Amie (Donald) Keele, Todd
(Chancy) McCormick, and Katie McCormick, all of Hillsboro, Kim (Barry) Smith
of Tullahoma, Patti (Michael) Skipper of Hillsboro, Tina (Kyle) Newlin of
Manchester, and Camie and Olivia Gentry, both of Franklin; and thirteen
great grandchildren, Daldon and Dixon Keele, Dasaney, Xaviar, Tavin and Case
McCormick, Kolby McCormick, Ryan Smith, Connor Smith, Blake and Ashleigh
Smith, Haleigh Skipper, and Cara Newlin.

9/18/15 — Opal G. Ziegler

opalOpal G. Ziegler, arrived in the presence of her Lord on the morning of Sunday, September 13th, 2015 while at Lynchburg Nursing Center at the age of 99. Mrs. Ziegler was born in Drumright, Oklahoma to the late Raleigh and Blanche Lemmons Walrath.

During her life, she was a school teacher in Wichita, Kansas, primarily teaching in the elementary school system and also in the high school music program. She and her husband served eight years on the SBC mission field planting churches in Oregon. Opal impacted and blessed many lives through music, teaching and her testimony. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ziegler is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Charles Ziegler; and one sister, Ruby Walrath.

She is survived by two children, Edwin M. Gleason and his wife Janice of Estill Springs, Tennessee and Zelfa Howery of Livermore, California; seven grandchildren, Stephen Gleason, Jeffrey Gleason, Dr. Scott Gleason, Lora Rinke, LaDawn Munger, Michelle Markel and Mitchell Pirtle; and 15 great-grandchildren, Emily, Elise, Grant, Benjamin, Daniel, Micah, Eli, Caroline, Amelia, Susannah, Forest, Sierra, Samantha, Zoe and Till.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Tullahoma from 12:00-2:00pm with the funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00pm with Dr. J. Herbert Hester and Dr. Scott Gleason officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church in Tullahoma with an emphasis on Missions, 108 East Grundy Street, Tullahoma, Tennessee 37388.

9/16/15 — Eugene McCullough

Eugene-Mccullough-1442241336Eugene McCullough, age 78, passed away September 13, 2015 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital to go home with Jesus. He was Pastor of the Highway 53 Nondenominational Church in Woodbury for thirty years. He retired from Middle Tennessee Medical Center after twenty five years of service and worked at Hickerson Elementary School and retired after five years. After retirement he lived in Manchester and recently moved to McMinnville.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Della May McCullough; brothers, Granville McCullough, John Robert McCullough and Tommy Chumbley; sisters, Mary Helen Finley, Willie May West, Ruth Victory and Littie J. McCullough; and daughter, Judy Kay McCullough. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Dorothy Barlow McCullough; sons, Jerry McCullough and Gerald McCullough; daughter, Joyce Dixon; sister, Dorothy Thomason; granddaughters, Jennifer Smith, Juliet McCullough and Chasity Lentz; grandsons, Donald Lester, Jimmy Lester and Russell Lester; fifteen great grandchildren; great-great grandson, Liam Lee Wayne Garcia; and special friend, Kay Newkirk.

Chapel service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Jennings and Ayers with John Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Holt; daughter, Betty Jo Medley; parents, the late George W. Forsythe and Gladys L. Bean Forsythe; and sister, Patricia Sanders. Peggy is survived by her son, William H. Medley, II of Estill Springs, Tenn.; daughter, Lori L. Medley of Manchester, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Kristen Medley, Saharra Blanton and Jayden Blanton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

9/13/15 — Roy Elburn Floyd

flower vase 3Roy Elburn Floyd, age 94, passed away on September 10, 2015 at his home in Manchester, Tennessee. Mr. Floyd was a retired Automaker with General Motors; member of the Farrar Hill Baptist Church and formerly the Ararat Baptist Church and was active in the Senior Citizens Center in Manchester. He was a World War II, United States Army veteran and P.O.W. and received the the Distinguished Purple Heart Medal, among many other awards for his dedicated service. He was the Vice Chair of the “Ex-P.O.W.” Association in Murfreesboro, Tenn., member of the V.F.W., D.A.V. and 70 year member of the American Legion. Roy will be fondly remembered for his generosity to people and love for playing cards. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Bugg Floyd; parents, Samuel Nelson Floyd and Dolly Armetha Sherrill Floyd; sisters, Dorothy Jernigan, Lola Simmons and Virgie Duke; brothers, Othra Floyd, Omer Floyd, Oscar Floyd, Dewie Floyd, Verlon Floyd and Maurice Floyd. He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy B. Collingham (Dale) of Pinckney, MI; sister, Margie E. Trail of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Christopher Collingham (Missy), Brian Collingham (Laurie), Kim Collingham and Tommy Lathers; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Muldoon, Erin Collingham, Hayden Collingham and Mira Collingham; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Munsey passed away Thursday evening at Horizon Health & Rehab in Manchester.

Mrs. Munsey was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Bill and Flora Pendleton Arnold. She retired from TN Apparel, after 30 years of service and was a member of East Main Church of Christ in Manchester.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Munsey was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Munsey; five brothers, Dallas, Ridley, Dalon, Jewel, and Oakley Arnold; and four sisters, Artie West, Birda Cargile, Polly Wiser, and Thelma McNally. She is survived by one son, Leroy (Shelia) Munsey of Manchester; one daughter, Zada Sellars of Manchester; six grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
