Matthew Henry Lazzara

funeral flowerMr. Mathew Henry Lazzara, 44, of McMinnville, TN passed away on Nov. 4, 2015 at River Park Medical Center in McMinnville, TN.
Mr. Lazzara was born in Barren Springs, Mich. to the late Melvin Lee and Pamela Sue Wilizanski Lazzara on Dec. 19, 1971.
A mechanic by trade, Mr. Lazzara was last employed with Jimmy Todd Security.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Dixon Lazzara and sons Mathew and Kristopher Lazzara all of McMinnville. Survivors also include brother Francisco C. Lazzara of McMinnville and half-brother Monte Lazzara of Manchester. He is also survived by one sister Angelina (Richard) Schlienz of Melbourne, Mich.
Services for Mr. Lazzara will be announced at a later date.

11/10/15 — William Green “Johnny” Locke

lockeWilliam Green Locke, Jr. (Johnny), 94, died November 7, 2015 at McArthur Manor Assisted Living in Manchester, TN, after an extended illness. Mr. Locke was born on May 4, 1921 in Nashville, Tennessee. His parents were William G. Locke Sr. and Mary Patterson Locke. He was the oldest of four children. Mr. Locke’s father died when he was seven, leaving him to assist his mother in raising his three younger siblings at his grandparent’s farm near Triune, TN.
After graduation from Murfreesboro High School in 1939, the family moved back to Nashville where he worked to help support his family. Mr. Locke joined the US Navy and served as a radar instructor in Corpus Christi TX during World War II. In 1943 he married Martha Matilda Clark of Winchester, TN. Following the war, Mr. Locke worked in Nashville as an electrician and in 1951, moved his family to Alto, TN taking a job as an electrician at Arnold Engineering Development Center, Arnold Air Force Base, TN.
In 1954, he and his family moved to Manchester, TN where he continued to work at AEDC until his retirement in 1982 as manager of Work Control. He was active in the First United Methodist Church in Manchester, serving as its maintenance manager and president of his Sunday School Class for many years. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his friendly smile and love of God, family and friends.

Mr. Locke is survived by his wife of 72 years, Matilda, one son, William H. Locke, Brentwood, TN, and three daughters, Martha Jane Casey, Winchester, TN; Melissa Annette Cope, Manchester, TN; Sandra Elaine Matlock, Estill Springs, TN. Mr. Locke was also blessed with six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One sister, Sara Jane Brinkley, of Goodlettsville, TN, also survives him. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, one sister, Mary Lou Swift, brother, Roy Howard Locke, and great grandson, Edward Locke Anderson preceded him in death.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is handling the funeral arrangements in Manchester. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Manchester, TN followed by interment at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN. Visitation will be held Monday, November 9, 2015 from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

Jimmy D. Few

flower 21Jimmy D. Few, age 82, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord on Friday,
November 6, 2015.

Mr. Few was born in Six Mile, South Carolina.  He was a veteran of the Korean War.  Upon
completion of his military service, he attended Clemson University.  He was employed for 19 years at Arnold Engineering Development Center.   In 1997 he retired from the University of Tennessee Space Institute where he was Program Manager for Laser Center of Applications. During this time he received four patents for his accomplishments.

Mr. Few was an active member of World Outreach Church, Murfreesboro, TN teaching small
group Bible studies.  His greatest joy in life was reaching people for the Kingdom of God.  He also was very active it the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Mr. Few was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Dwight William Few and his son, Jason J. Few.  Mr. Few is survived by his beloved wife Martha T. Few.

templetonLocal businessman, Woodie Templeton, age 75 passed this life on November 5,
2015 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma. Memorial services are scheduled
for Saturday, November 14 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
Visitation
with the family will be from 12 PM until service time.

A native of Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Buck and Kathleen
Templeton. He was a 1958 graduate of Tullahoma High School and graduated
from MTSU with a degree in Industrial Technology. After graduation he
worked as an HVAC designer for the Thermal Transfer Plant in Nashville and
as HVAC project manager for Hickory Hollow Mall. In 1979, he and his family
returned to Tullahoma to manage the family business, Tullahoma Floor
Covering & Supply, Inc. He was an avid NASCAR and University of Tennessee
Football fan. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and was
very proud of them. He also enjoyed restoring and working on antique cars.
His favorite hobby was remodeling tour buses for music stars.

In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Faye
Templeton Colyar.

Woodie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Guinn Templeton of
Tullahoma; two sons, Jackson Craig Templeton of Tullahoma and Jason Woodrow
Templeton and his wife, Leslie of Tullahoma and three grandchildren,
Jackson Alexander Templeton, Carson Woodrow Templeton and Lydia Allison
Templeton.

Monday, November 2, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral
Services are scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2015at 2 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hillsboro Memorial
Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, November 7 from 5 – 8 PM.

A native of Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Donald Wilburn of
Manchester and the late Doris McGill Wilburn. She enjoyed being around her
family and friends and watching movies.

In addition to her father, she is survived by one son, Donald Brewer of
Pikeville; three brothers, Earl Brewer, Jack Brewer and his wife, Kristen
and David Brewer, all of Manchester; one sister, Carolyn Brown and her
husband, Johnny of Manchester; four grandchildren, Joshua, Brent, Darren
and Hilario; special friend, Lenore Coker of Manchester and many other
friends.

collinsThomas Melvin Collins Sr., age 69 of Hillsboro, Tennessee passed away,
Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at his residence. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Saturday, November 7 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home
with burial to follow at Manchester City Cemetery. Visitation with the
family will be Saturday, November 7 from 12 PM until the service time.

A native of Coffee County, Mr. Collins was the son of the late John Malcom
and Alma Veola Smartt Collins. He was a farmer, a milk hauler and school
bus driver for Coffee County Schools. He loved farming and raising goats
and chickens and enjoyed being outside working. He also enjoyed fishing
and some of his favorite times were hosting fish fry gatherings for friends
and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy
Sanders Collins; one brother, Malcom John Collins and one sister, Barbara
Ann Hill.

Mr. Collins is survived by one son, Thomas Collins Jr and his wife, Joy
Rankin of Hillsboro; one daughter, Tammy Beavers and her husband, Frankie
of Manchester; three stepsons, Greg Parsons and his wife, Fawn and Craig
Parsons, all of Tracy City and David Campbell of Manchester; one sister,
Melanie Joyce Crosslin and her husband, Ronnie of Manchester and three
grandchildren, Coltin and Caitlin Beavers and Christopher Collins.

flower26Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Melvin McCart, age 59 of Manchester, will be
held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 12 Noon at Manchester Funeral Home with
Bro. Norman Pelham officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, November 6 from 4 – 8 pm at the
funeral home. Mr. McCart passed away Thursday November 5, 2015 at Erlanger
Health System in Chattanooga.

Mr. McCart was born November 9, 1955, to the late Eddie Conwell McCart and
Sara Ledbetter in Tullahoma, TN. He was a self-employed truck driver. In
addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray
and Jr. McCart and one sister Ann Douglas. He is survived by one son, Tracy
(Grace) McCart of Manchester and one daughter, Angela (Jimmy) Penn of
Manchester. He is also survived by two brothers, Edward (Patricia) McCart
and Robert (Vickie) McCart; one sister, Margaret (Casey) Jones; five
grandchildren, Katie, Tori, Makayla McCart, Harley and Jimmy Ray Penn; and
several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Martha L. Edmonds Walker, age 92 passed from this
life on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 with family by her side at Bailey Manor
Assisted Living in Manchester, Tennessee. 

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents,
Allie and Marcus Snodgrass; her husband of forty-two years, Cecil U.
Edmonds;
her granddaughter, Kimberly Cavendish; her sisters, Qujette and husband
Wallace
Rush and Ada B. and husband Earl Pearson; and her second husband, Thomas B.
Walker.

 

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Cecilia “Petie”
and husband James Cavendish, Tracy and husband Donald Patterson;
grandchildren,
Stephen Patrick and wife Jennifer Cavendish, Jessica Floyd Hertter, and
Nathaniel Edmonds Patterson; great grandsons, Jacob and Zachary Hertter; her
sister, Maxine and late husband Adolph Pirani; and many nieces and
nephews.  

 

Martha was a graduate of Earle High School in Earle,
Arkansas, a member of the West Memphis, Arkansas Jaycettes, Junior League
and
The Order of the Eastern Star.  Martha
had an early career as a real estate broker in Texas.  In later years,
she was a successful retail
manager in fashion and gifts as well as an entrepreneur.

 

Graveside Services for Mrs. Martha L. Walker will be
conducted on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Crittenden Memorial
Park in Marion, Arkansas.  In lieu of

flower 14Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Warren, age 84 of Petersburg, will
be conducted Friday November 6, 2015 at 11 am at the Hope Assembly of
God Church with Bro. Phillip Warren officiating. Burial will follow in
the Foster Cemetery. Mrs. Warren passed away Tuesday evening November 3,
2015 at her residence.
She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late William
Christopher and Mary Ella Mitchell Rutledge. Mrs. Warren was a
homemaker, member of the Hope Assembly of God Church and loved making
and refinishing dolls to give to children at Christmas.
Survivors include seven daughters Lisa Talley of Unionville, TN,
Charlene Warren of Huntsville, AL, Martha Harris and husband Jimmy of
Shelbyville, Mary Sue Green and husband Jimmy of Lewisburg, Kathy Mouyal
and husband Alain of Huntville, AL, Judy Harmon and husband Roger of
Petersburg, Rosie Rozar and husband Gary of the Belleville Community,
six sons, Leslie Warren and wife Patricia of Petersburg, Edwin Warren of
Pulaski, Clifton Warren of Shelbyville, Phillip Warren and wife Linda of
Soddy Daisy, Gary Warren and wife Shannon of Manchester and Lannie
Warren and wife Donna of Petersburg, 40 grandchildren, 63
great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, three brothers Don
Rutledge of Tullahoma, Fred Rutledge of Petersburg, Paul Rutledge of

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by her
husband Robert L. Warren, granddaughter Sabrina Everette, grandson
Jerrel Jeter and six brothers and two sisters.

at Higgins Funeral Home. Visitation at the church will be Friday morning
November 6, 2015 from 10 am until time of service at 11 am.

11/05/2015-Mary Frances Morgan Smith

Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Frances Morgan Smith, age 87 were conducted Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Brother Ralph Hart officiating. Mrs. Smith passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at Manchester Health Care Center in Manchester.

She was born April 14, 1928 in Coffee County, Tennessee one of eleven children born to the late George F. Grosch, Sr., and Novella Leola Mahathey Grosch. In earlier years, she was employed with PCA in Manchester and also Cummings Sign Company in Murfreesboro, TN. She enjoyed piecing together puzzles as well as quilting. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She also loved animals, especially dogs. She was a longtime member of the East Main Street Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five siblings, George Grosch, Jr., Robert Grosch, Charles Grosch, Ruby Eley and Elizabeth Burl.

Survivors include three sons, Virgil “Butch” Morgan, Jr., and wife, Dolores of Hillsboro, TN; Michael W. Morgan of Manchester, TN; and Jeffrey “Scott” Morgan and wife, Kelly of Manchester, TN and seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson. Also surviving is a brother, Talmage “Buddy” Grosch and wife, Deana of Manchester and four sisters, Thelma Joyce Henley and husband, James of Michigan; Faye Ortner of Manchester; Betty Jane McInturff and husband, Stanley of Manchester and Shirley Cain of San Antonio, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
