Herman Haskel Franklin

Graveside services for Mr. Herman Haskel Franklin, age 76, will be conducted at 12:00PM on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Mr. Franklin passed from this life on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. 

Haskel was born in Tullahoma, TN on February 8, 1945, the son of the late Melvin and Lena Franklin. Before his retirement, he was the owner of Franklin Floor Covering, and he was in the business for over 50 years.  Haskel had a love for music.  He could play the guitar and loved playing with family and friends.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. 

In addition to his parents, Haskel is also preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Sandra Franklin; siblings, Norvel, Genevieve, Willard, James, Ruben, Alice, Alta, Melvin, Ray, and Robert Franklin.  He is survived by his sons, Jeremy and David Franklin; sister, Mary Katherine Lamb (Carold); sister-in-law, Jan Phillips; multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Elaine K. Churchill

Elaine K. Churchill of Tullahoma passed this life on Thursday, November 25,
2021 at the age of 100. Memorial Services will be announced at a later time.

A native of Greenfield, MA, Elaine was the daughter of the late Washington
and Doris Merry Kilbourne. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church
and was an avid reader.  She also enjoyed listening to classical music and
working crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Richmond
Edward Churchill; brother, Neal Kilbourne and sisters, Claire Ellsworth and
Barbara Fish.

Mrs. Churchill is survived by son, Richmond Edward “Skip” Churchill Jr
(Renata) of Port Angeles, WA; daughters, Joy Green (Jack) of Tullahoma and
Carol Goodman of Tullahoma; seven grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren.

Jimmy Dale Conn

Mr. Jimmy Dale Conn, age 69 of Tullahoma, was born on November 29, 1951, in Tullahoma, TN to the late Freddie Lee Conn and Mary Agnes Clark. He graduated Tullahoma High School in 1970. Mr. Conn enjoyed deer hunting and attended the King’s Cross church. He also graduated from the National FBI Academy. Mr. Conn was a former police officer for Tullahoma Police Department and served as chief deputy with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. His last employment was for the Coffee County Public Defender’s office as an investigator.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Conn is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Conn. He is survived by his children, Michelle Ferrell and her husband, Jason, and James Conn and his wife, Shelly; grandchildren, Morgan and Macy Ferrell, and Sarah, J.C., and Issac Conn; sister Melinda Conn; extended family and a host of friends.

As per Mr. Conn’s request, Cremation was chosen and there are no services scheduled at this time.

Dale Conn

Benny Thomas Vaughn

Benny Thomas Vaughn of Lynchburg passed this life on Tuesday, November 23
at the age of 65. No services are scheduled.

A native of Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Lucion and Gladys Boles
Vaughn. He was a logger and enjoyed his work. He loved people and never met
a stranger. His favorite activity was playing with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca
Jane Stovall Vaughn; brother, David Vaughn and sister, Sis Vaughn.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by sons, Joshua Vaughn (Tosha) of Lynchburg, Benny
Vaughn Jr of Woodbury and Jonathon Vaughn (Jessica) of Decherd and six
grandchildren.

Dean Woodward

Mr. Dean Woodward, age 54, of Manchester, TN,
passed from this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at his residence. Mr.
Woodward was born in Manchester, TN, to his late parents Arthur Levon
Woodward and mother Nydda Jean Clements Martinez who survives him. He was a
native of Summitville and worked maintenance with Niederhauser, Mayfield
Rehab and also worked in carpentry with Bennett construction for 16 years.
Mr. Woodward enjoyed building things and being outdoors. He was also a fan
of the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Woodward was always willing
to help anyone in need, especially if it dealt with carpentry or
maintenance. He was also big into learning how to fix things – if he had
instructions, he could fix anything. Mr. Woodward loved his kids and nieces
and nephews and was the “fun goofy uncle.” He was preceded in death by
grandmother and grandfather Woodward, grandmother and grandfather Clements,
and brother, Danny Lee Gibsons. Mr. Woodward is survived by his wife, Buffy
Woodward; children, Alicia Nicole Woodward and Skyler Chase Woodward;
brothers-in-law, Cody McFarland, T.J. McFarland; sister-in-law, Marisa
(David) Gann; grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visitation with
the family will be on Saturday, November 27, 2021, from 10:00am until
11:00am at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be
conducted immediately following visitation at 11:00am from the chapel of
Central Funeral Home with Jim Waters officiating. Burial will follow in

Carolyn Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Smith, age 84, will be conducted at 11:00AM on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith passed from this life on Saturday, November 20, 2021, in Bristol, TN.

Carolyn was born in Manchester, TN on August 15, 1937, the daughter of the late John and Alda Arnold. She was a lifetime member of Main Street Church of Christ. Carolyn enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was very optimistic, loyal, and caring. She loved everyone unconditionally and was strong in every way. Carolyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Marvin Smith; brothers, Ralph and Ray Arnold; sister, Linda McAfee.  She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Cowan, Lee Anne Fausz, and Marsha Hobby; grandchildren, Thomas Whitaker, Amy Cowan, Turner Hobby, Daryl Hobby, David Fausz, Mike Fausz, Laura Smith; 12 great-grandchildren.

The family asks for flowers or donations to be made in Carolyn’s name to either the Arthritis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Sadie Jane Burks

Mrs. Sadie Jane Burks, age 91, of the Gossburg Community, Beech Grove, TN, passed from this life on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Autumn Oaks Assisted Living Center, Manchester, TN. Mrs. Burks was born in Coffee Co., TN, to her late parents, Lonnie Alton Reed and Dollie Ann Spry Reed. Mrs. Burks started working for PCA in 1951 when she was 21
years old, working there for around 50 years until retirement. She was a member of the Gossburg Community Church. She loved anything to do with flowers and the outdoors. Mrs. Burks also had a green thumb and could grow
just about anything. She also loved doing yard work and also loved to quilt. Mrs. Burks always made sure everything was neat and clean and always had to make sure everything was just right. In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Burks; siblings, Nellie Reed Ewell, Ethel Reed Stacy, George Reed, JL Reed; nephews, Marlin Reed, Martin Reed, and Morris Ewell. Mrs. Burks is survived by children, Barbara (Rennie) Bell, Lanny Burks, and David Burks; grandchildren, Andrew Burks and Chris Bell; great grandchildren, Logan, Riley, and Landon Burks and Tori and Sydney Bell; nephews, Buford Stacy, Jerry and Larry Reed; niece, Vicky Bush. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 10:00am until 1:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Lonnie Richard Ashburn

Mr. Lonnie Richard Ashburn, age 73, of Manchester,
TN, passed from this life on Friday, November 19, 2021, in Manchester, TN.

Mr. Ashburn was born in Clarkrange, TN, to his late parents Paul Dawson
Ashburn and Treva Marie Neely Ashburn. He served our country in the United
States Marines ultimately attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. Mr. Ashburn
then became the Chief of Police in Carthage, TN, beginning his work in law
enforcement. Soon after, he started working for Tennessee Highway Patrol,
ranking as a Lieutenant until his retirement. Mr. Ashburn was a graduate
from the Northwestern School of Staff and Command. He was also a member of
Masonic Highland Lodge #214. Mr. Ashburn and his wife both attended World
Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, TN. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by a sister, Diana Matthews; father-in-law and
mother-in-law, Benton and Sue Lowe.

Mr. Ashburn is survived by his wife of 50 years, Melinda Ashburn; son, Sean
(Lisa) Ashburn; sisters, Brenda (Joe) Masters, Clarkrange, TN;
sister-in-love, Cynthia (Mike) Thompson; grandchildren, Bethany and Lydia
Ashburn; nieces, Jessica (Art) Guevara, Miranda Masters; nephews, Jake
Thompson, Cole Thompson, Chad Matthews.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from
4:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral
services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 1:00pm from
the chapel of Central Funeral Home with Vicky Inzer and Mike Thompson
officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Morrison, TN.

Marilyn Kaye Hunkins

Marilyn Kaye Hunkins, age 79, of Tullahoma went to be with her heavenly
father Saturday, November 13, 2021. She was born December 10, 1941 in
Zanesville, Ohio to the late Harold and Thelma Schilling.

Marilyn was a member of Tullahoma First Baptist Church. She was a writer
for the Antique Cars Newsletter for which she received several awards for
her published articles. she was an AACA National Auto Event Judge and
served as Secretary on the Board of Directors for AACA Library and Research
Center.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m. Sunday, November 28th at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roy “R.C.” Hunkins;
daughter, Lisa Plant (Leonard); grandchildren, Crystal Benz (Curt), Sierra
Lowry and Drezden Plant; great grandchildren, Chet Rand, Harley Benz, Eliza
Durbin, Driver Benz and Kaizen Plant.

Timothy Clay Allbert Sr.

Memorial services for Timothy Clay Allbert,Sr., age 59 of Manchester, will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 6 PM, in the Manchester Funeral Home chapel. Visitation with the family will begin at 4 PM until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Allbert passed away on Thursday at his home.

Tim was born on May 22, 1962, to the late Ms. Wilburn J. Spain. He was a carpenter and a mechanic by trade, but it is said that he was a “jack of all trades”. Tim enjoyed watching Nascar races and old westerns. He also loved fishing, hunting, and feeding the wild animals.

In addition to his mother, Tim is preceded in death by one brother, Mike Allbert. He is survived by his son, Timothy Clay Allbert, Jr., and his step-children, Darrell Eppes and his wife, Brittany, and Ashley Epps; brother, David Allbert; sisters, Vickie Netler, Pam Cook and her husband, Sam, and Tammy Gregory; 9 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
