1/22/16 — Hazel O. Dodson

dodsonFuneral services for Mrs. Hazel O. Dodson, age 89, of Manchester, will be
conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Manchester Funeral
Home Chapel with Bro. Benny Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow in
Asbury Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until
9:00 PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Hazel passed away at
her daughter’s residence on Monday afternoon.

Hazel was born in Morgan County, AL, the daughter of the late William
Edgar Vincent and Bertha Lillian Jones. She was a homemaker and was of
the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was also preceded in death by her
husband, Raymond L. Dodson, and one brother, Garland Vincent. She is
survived by her companion of 26 years, Clinton Vaughn; three sons, Carl
David Phillips, Tommy Phillips, and Michael Phillips, all of Indiana; two
daughters, Stella (Dennis) Wolford of Florida and Indiana, and Betty
Jones, of Manchester; one brother, Ellis (Margaret) Vincent of
Manchester; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

1/20/16 — Dorothy Faye Kirk

kirkMrs. Dorothy (Dot) Faye Kirk, 78, of Tullahoma TN, passed away peacefully
at home on Sunday, January 17, 2016. She was born on October 9, 1937 in
Marion County, AL the daughter of the late Carter and Ethel Crowe. She
was a member of First Baptist Church, Tullahoma. She was preceded in
death by her daughters Rhonda and Anita; brothers, Robert, Roy, and
Hasten Crowe; sister, Vera Greene of Marion Co., AL. She is survived by
her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 59 years, Joe F. Kirk
and son, Tommy (Rita) Kirk of Tullahoma; brother, Woody Crowe of Marion
Co., AL; sisters, Estelle Evans of Guin, AL, Carolyn (Johnny) Langley of
Marion Co., AL. Dot traveled the world as an Air Force spouse and enjoyed
living in Bermuda, Europe and the Philippines before settling in
Tullahoma. She was employed by Kraft foods while living in San Antonio,
TX and later by Wisco in Tullahoma for 19 years. Her many talents
included cooking, baking, gardening and decorating. She enjoyed
antiquing, yard sales and most of all spending time with her friends and
family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Visitation with
the family will be Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 5pm to 7pm at Kilgore
funeral home in Tullahoma. Funeral services will begin at 1pm, Wednesday,
January 20, 2016 at Antioch Baptist Church in Lamar Co., AL. In lieu of
flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hospice Compassus, 1805
North Jackson St., Tullahoma, TN 37388 or the Michael J. Fox Foundation
for Parkinson’s Research.

flower 18Ruby Dee Shelton Waterson, age 96 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed
away into rest on January 15, 2016 at the McArthur Manor in
Manchester. She was a homemaker, and lifelong member of the
Hurricane Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, gardening,
sewing, having all of the family around the dining room table and
church activities. Mrs. Waterson was preceded in death by her
husband Stanley Waterson; parents, Oscar Dee Shelton and Minnie
Catherine Floyd Shelton; grandson, Robert Mark Luneack; and sister,
Jessie Ruth Vickers. She is survived by her children, L.D. Waterson
and his wife Jane of Manchester, Tenn., Stanley Milton Waterson and
his wife Bertha of Manchester, Tenn., Charles Kenneth Waterson and
his wife Carole of Manchester, Tenn. and Wanda Lou Luneack; 10
grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren;
and a host of other relatives and friends.

flower26Mrs. Annie Lee Parks, 92, a resident of Ferndale, Michigan and formerly of Lynchburg passed away on Jan. 14, 2016 in Michigan.
Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her husband Jack Parks.
She is survived by sons Bobby and Randy Parks along with daughters Kathy Stone and Sarah Parks.
Visitation with family members will begin at noon on Monday, Jan. 18 followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Lynchburg Cemetery.

flower 11Jerry William Bryant age 56 of Tracy City passed away Friday evening, January 15, 2016 at his home. Jerry was retired from Signal Mountain Cement after working there for 30 years. He was a son of the late W.R. Bryant and Faye Anderson Bryant and was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Bryant; father-in-law, “Buck” Sanders.

Jerry was a member of Tracy City First United Methodist Church, a 1977 graduate of Grundy County High School where he was an outstanding athlete, he was awarded a football scholarship and played at Austin Peay University. H e was a lifelong sports fan and was a mentor to many athletes in Grundy County. Jerry was the first inductee into the Grundy County Sports Hall Of Fame.

Jerry was a loving husband, father and Papa, he is survived by his wife, Dorie Bryant; sons, Nick and his wife, Rachel, Justin and his wife, Blair; grandchildren, Vincent and Kaleigh Bryant, Kellen and Jalen Bryant; sister, Sherrie Bryant; brothers, Sammy and Troy (Cindy) Bryant; mother-in-law, Dot Sanders; sister-in-laws, Jonny Rose and James “Bubbe” Conry, Charlotte and Johnny McGuire, Sarah and Darrell Brown; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Tracy City First United Methodist Church with Reverend Danny Coffelt officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-9 P.M. At the funeral home and on Monday from 12:00 Noon until 2:0 P.M. at the church. 1/16/16 — Willie Manning Forrester

forresterMr. Willie Manning Forrester, 62, of Tullahoma passed away on Jan. 12, 2016. Mr. Fanning was born to the late J.W. Forrester and is survived by his mother Mary Forrester.
A brick mason by trade, Mr. Forrester was an Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War.
Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Mr. Forrester is survived by a daughter, Misty D. Kelley of Redan, GA. Other survivors include brothers Jimmy Forrester of Shelbyville and Eddie Ray Forrester of Manchester. Also surviving is a sister Wilma Jean Forrester of Tullahoma and four grandchildren.

animals,nature, especially the beach.She attended the Main Street
Church of Christ in Manchester, Tennessee. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Fred Anthony DeGregorio; father; Harold Reese
Walker; and brother Terrie Reese Walker. Judy is survived by her
mother, Mattie Mae Bush Walker of Hillsboro, Tenn.; children,
Anthony Degregorio of Crystal River, Florida and Dustin R.

Mr. Drake passed this life Tuesday at Alive Hospice in Nashville surrounded by his loving family.

Jimmie was born in Huntsville, Alabama the son of the late Robert C. Drake and Mildred Beatrice Luna Drake. He served in the US Army for 25 years, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military career, Jimmie worked and retired from the Eaton Corp in Shelbyville. He attended the Canaan Baptist Church in Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert C. Drake Jr., and Marshall Drake and by a sister, Mrs. Frances Lewis. Jimmie is survived by:

batesMr. Lacy Bates passed from this earth on January 12th, 2016 in his home in Manchester, TN. He served his country for over 22 years in the United States Army and retired as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Lacy always said that if he had the opportunity to do it all over again he would. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Dave and Maggie Bates. He is survived by his loving wife of 51years Renate Bates (Kornprobst); nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many many friends. Mr. Bates loved his friends dearly and they loved him back!
The family will receive friends Wednesday January 13th, 2016 from five O’clock in the evening to eight O’clock in the evening at Tullahoma Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday January 14th, 2016 starting at 12 noon. There will be an additional one hour viewing prior to the service. The interment will be held immediately following at Head of Hurricane Cemetery in Moore County.
