2/22/16 — William Collon Kemper

kemperWilliam Collon “Bill” Kemper, age 62, departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, in Nashville following an extended illness. Mr. Kemper was employed for several years as a civil engineer with the Corp of Engineers at Cape Canaveral in Florida before becoming disabled. Mr. Kemper was an Avid golfer. His favorite hobbies were playing pool, ping pong and scuba diving. He was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith. His passion in life was his daughter. Survivors include his daughter, Shaunna Briel, sister, Norma Kemper, niece, Amy Hargis all of Winchester, nephew, Adam Neal of Pelham, Tenn., Uncle, Joe Johnson of Nashville, and 3 cousins. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. Monday, February 22, 2016, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Visitation from 4:00-6:00 P.M. prior to the service.

flower vase 2Emogene Harmon Hollis, age 90, of Beech Grove, Tennessee, retired from
Batesville Casket Company in Manchester, Tennessee and was a member of the
Gnat Hill Church of Christ. Mrs. Hollis enjoyed attending grandchildren’s
ballgames, gardening, quilting and sitting on her porch. She was preceded in
death by her husband, the late Roy Hollis; parents, Belford Harmon and
Margie Wilson Harmon; son-in-law, Stanley Jones; sister, Magalene Frazier;
brothers, Clark Harmon, Belford Leon “Pete” Harmon and Vernon Harmon. Mrs.
Harmon is survived by her children, Shirley F. Jones of Manchester, Tenn.,
Gloria K. Vaughn and her husband James of Beech Grove, Tenn. And Gary R.
Hollis and his wife Susan of Manchester, Tenn.; one sister, Bobbie Harmon of
Manchester, Tenn.; two brothers, Clayton Harmon (Eunice) Manchester,Tenn.

flower 9Michael Lawrence “Mike” Amburgey, age 59 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed
away on February 18, 2016. Michael was preceded in death by his father,
Gordon “Tag” Amburgey in 2012. Mike was a devoted son and caregiver to his
parents. He loved his family and his church. Mike made friends easily and
was loved by all who knew him. Mike had worked in the family business,
Amburgey Rexall Drug Store and was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church
in Manchester. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Burton Amburgey of
Manchester, Tenn.; sister, Sheri Amburgey Hyatt and her husband Adam Hyatt;
two nephews, Josh Woolum and Tanner Wyatt; and two great-nephews, Andrew
Woolum and Jaydin Woolum; and a host of friends.

flower 22Funeral services for Mr. Frank E. Reese, age 85 of Manchester, will be conducted
Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Benny Benjamin officiating. Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 3:00 PM until time of service at 4:00 PM.
Mr. Ketcham passed away February 17, 2016 at Unity Medical Center.

Frank was born on December 12, 1930 to the late Eli and Olive Reese. He was a United States Veteran where he served in the Navy and retired from the Air Force. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, VFW and American Legion. Mr. Reese was an avid golfer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Reese.

Survivors include his son, Richard Reese; daughter, Kathy Mercer and husband Tom; grandchildren, Thomas Mercer and Frank Mercer; great-grandchildren, Jordan Mercer and Ayden Mercer.

flower aLaura Maria Meeks age 67 of Hillsboro, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016, in Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Rose Bernard; step-mother, Mildred Bernard; son, Jason Meeks.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald F. Meeks, Hillsboro; daughter, Jacqueline Johnson, Hillsboro; sons, Ryan (Julia) Meeks, Springfield, TN, Nathan Meeks, Knoxville, TN, Darren (Jennifer) Meeks Shelbyville, TN; brothers, Raymond Bernard of Japan and Theodore Bernard of Gardena, CA; grandchildren, Kristin and Carson Meeks, Kaitlin Johnson, Steven McMillan, Breeanna Banks, Carly Banks and Canah Banks; great-grandchild, Hayden Banks.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Bethel Cemetery in Pelham, Tennessee with Reverend De Hennessy officiating. 2/19/16 — Linda Sue Frazier

frazierLinda Sue Frazier of Manchester passed this life on Tuesday, February
16th, 2016 at her home at the age of 72. Mrs. Frazier was born in Moore
County to the late Jimmie and Carolyn Louise Nicholson Brandon. During
her life she was a member of Manchester Bible Methodist Church. In
addition to her parents, Mrs. Frazier is preceded in death by two
sisters, Alice Saine, and Jane Austin; and three brothers, David, Eugene,
and Andy Brandon. She is survived by her loving husband Johnnie Frazier
of Manchester; two daughters, Kellie (John) King of Shelbyville, and
Kimberly (James) Maguffin of Manchester; one son Kip (Angela) Frazier of
Wartace; four grandchildren, Jillian (Adam) Caruthers, Brandy (Marshall)
Jones, Jeremy (Tori) Maguffin, and Kody Frazier; and six
great-grandchildren, Riley, Aubree, Hayden, Alexia, Corbin, and Mady.
Visitation for Mrs. Frazier will be held on Friday, February 19th, 2016
from 4:00-7:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home, with a memorial service to
immediately follow at 7:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Watkins

02/20/16-Robert “Skeeter” Griffin

On February 16th, 2016 Mr. Robert “Skeeter” Griffin, 54 of Decherd, TN left his earthly home where he was surrounded by his loved ones to be with the Lord. Skeeter’s heart might not have been medically well but emotionally it was AMAZING! He was a phenomenal husband, father; grandfather, brother, uncle and coach. He urged his ballplayers to always “Know You Can”. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t talk to his family with love and confidence. Skeeter was a very skilled painter, a Golden Glove Champ in 3 different States, a States Wrestling Champ, gifted song writer and singer. Skeeter was a very selfless Godly man that always had a smile on his face that could light up any room. He was a very active member of the Decherd Church of God and travelled with his family singing gospel music with the group “By Choice”.
Skeeter is preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee Griffin and Mary Joyce (Liles) Griffin. He is survived by his loving wife Penny Weddington Griffin; Children Alicia Bewley (Chris), Dusty Griffin (Pam), LaRae Wainwright (Brian), Derrick “Deke” Griffin, Jena “Little” Slatton (Daniel), Evan Harris, Dylan Griffin; Brothers Stacy Griffin and Stevie Griffin; Grandchildren Chelsey Adams, Chance Hargrove, Chase Karaczewski, Ethan Griffin, Kyrstyn Arthur, Raelyn Wainwright, Pensley Wainwright, Titus “T-Stump” Slatton, and Oakleigh Slatton; Great-Grandchild Lyric Adams; Nieces Brittany Griffin, Karlee Griffin, Megan Griffin, Alazae Berry; his loving bulldog Princess LuLu and many close friends

On February 16th, 2016 Mr. Donald Beasley of Tullahoma, TN passed from this life surrounded by his loved ones at NHC in Tullahoma, TN. Mr. Beasley served his country proudly in the United States Army 2nd Armored Division “Hell on Wheels” and 142nd Signal Company. Mr. Beasley retired from L & N Railroad where he was employed for over 30 years. He served as a consultant for the Cowan Train Museum and then The South Jackson Civic Center Mitchell Museum where he provided railroad exhibit pieces. Mr. Beasley was a Mason for the Tullahoma Masonic Lodge # 262 for over 60 years. Along with being a Mason his passions were gardening and traveling. He was a founding member of First Church of God in Tullahoma, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel Newton and Elizabeth Beasley; First Wife Marie Beasley; Daughter Donna Cornelius and Five siblings.
Mr. Beasley survived by his loving wife Setsuko “Peanut” Beasley; Son Randy Beasley (Lisa); Grandchildren Tina Smith, Shane Peterson, Amy Watson, (Matt) and Jenny Beasley; 9 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great great grandchildren.

2/19/16 — Margaret Joyce Stafford Lehew

lehewMargaret Joyce Stafford Lehew, age 74, of Decherd, Tenn., formerly of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma with her loving and devoted Grandchildren at her side. Ms. Lehew was born on March 13, 1941, in Tullahoma, Tenn. to the late Lee and Maye Tucker Stafford. Ms. Lehew was employed at Genesco in Tullahoma for fourteen years before becoming employed as a secretary/bookkeeper at Mid South Uniform for approximately 30 years. She loved traveling with her special cousins, Hollis and Deloris Bates and spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the “sunshine” of her life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Lehew and daughter, Tami Lehew Pate. She is survived by her grandchildren; Dustin Pate and his wife Brittany of Decherd, Loriann Dodson and her husband George and Tabitha Dodson and her husband David all of Tullahoma, sisters; Jean McBride of Fairburn, Georgia and Jackie Womack of Manchester, Tenn., Great-grandchildren; Zachary, Amiah, Ryker, Logan, Hunter, Elaina and Margaret Dodson. Visitation for Ms. Lehew is scheduled for 12:00-2:00 P.M. Friday Evening, February 19, 2016, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services for Mrs. Lehew will follow visitiation at 2:00 on Friday with Bro. David Ashley, eulogist. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.

02/20/16-Dorothy Doreen (Janke) Halcomb

Dorothy Doreen (Janke) Halcomb, 82, began her new eternal life with Jesus
Christ on February 15, 2016. Some of the titles she earned through life
include daughter, sister, wife, mother, mentor, grandmother, and great
grandmother. “Grams” was well-known for her love of the Lord, serving
others, and her quick wit. She enjoyed the outdoors, as evident by her
bouts of poison ivy. In addition, she had an adventuresome spirit, strong
faith, wisdom, compassion, strength, killer granola, and was enjoyed by
those who knew her. Dorothy grew up on the prairies of Saskatchewan with
her seven siblings. She met her husband while he was an Air Force Radar
Technician stationed in North Dakota, and they had a life-long
adventurous love for almost 44 years. She devoted her life to supporting
her military husband and raising their children. After his death in 2002,
she resided in Tullahoma and attended First Baptist Church. Some of her
hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren, working Jigsaw
puzzles, fishing, traveling, genealogy research, and Morning Glories
Bible study. Her family tree flourished, which is evident by her
survivors: sons Jay Halcomb (Lisa), Ethan Halcomb (Marilyn), daughter
Crystal Whitehead (Michael), grandchildren Nathan Halcomb (Jessica),
Lindsay Farmer (Patrick), Neil Whitehead (Megan), Hannah Whitehead, Joel
Whitehead, Seth Whitehead, Luke Whitehead, Elise Halcomb, great
grandchild Adaline Farmer, and soon-to-be born Jonah Halcomb, sister
Ethel Janke Barnstable (Orville) of Medicine Hat, Alberta, sisters-in-law
Mary Ellison of Powell, Tennessee, Bertha Janke of Sherwood Park,
Alberta, and Karen Janke of Lundar, Manitoba. She is preceded in death by
her wonderful husband, Joe Halcomb, parents Walter and Torrie (May)
Janke, and siblings: Gerald, Vernon, Elroy, and Kenneth Janke, Opal
Nedelisky, and Joyce Jacobson. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be
held on Saturday, February 20th, 2016, 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist
Church Ministry Building. Interment will be at Arlington National
Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to
Hospice Compassus of Tullahoma.
