3/19/16 — Joy Bean Martinez

martinezJoy Bean-Martinez was called home on March 9, 2016. She was born on January 3, 1966 in Winchester, Tennessee to Athen Thomas Bean and the late Annie Myrtle Brannon Bean. In addition to her mother, Joy is also preceded in death by her son, Lucas Martinez Jr.; sister, Deborah A. Taylor; and brothers, Athen Thomas Bean III and Don A. Bean. Joy leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Saniya LaCole Shanes – Bean; sons, James Allen Crutchfield and Justin Adam Crutchfield both of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Kylan Bean, Uriyah Bean, and Shadimon Williams; father, Athen Thomas (Barbara) Bean of Winchester; brother, James (Cynthia) Kincherlow of Patterson, NJ; and sisters, Beverly Wilkerson and Teresa (Victor) Carden, both of Estill Springs, Jimmie (Tony) Taylor and Annette (Scott) Mosley both of Winchester. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 12-2pm at Friendship United Primitive Baptist Church with funeral service following at 2pm. Interment will follow in Watson-North Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

beanSaniya LaCole Shanes – Bean was called home on March 10, 2016. Born on March 25, 2001 in Lebanon, TN. Saniya attended Tullahoma High School where she was a freshman. Saniya is preceded in death by her father, Don A. Bean; mother, Joy Bean – Martinez; and grandmothers, Annie Bean and Pam Carter. Saniya leaves behind to cherish her memories, mother, Angela Shanes; sisters, Jasmine Bean of Columbus, GA, Taleisa Bean of Fayetteville, and Jaelyn Leggett-Bean of Winchester; brothers, Anthony “Day” Gaines of Nashville, Jordon Legget – Bean of Winchester and Donovan Batey of Woodbury; grandparents, Ken Carter of Nashville and Athen T. (Barbara) Bean Jr. of Winchester, great-grandmother, Gertrude Carter of Nashville; best friend and cousin, Shadimon Williams of Tullahoma; nieces and nephews, Malaysia, Adon, Kenyon and Amara; aunts, Beverly Wilkerson and Teresa Carden both of Estill Springs, Jimmie Taylor and Annette Mosley both of Winchester, Abby Carter and Tara Bond of Nashville; and uncles, James Kincherlow of Paterson, NJ and Clint Carter of Nashville. She also leaves behind a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends. 3/13/16 — Warren Dale Underwood

underwoodOur beloved father and dedicated husband, Warren Dale “Woody” Underwood,
died Friday at age 78 in his home in Tullahoma surrounded by his family.
Warren was retired from the Air Force, where he served our country as a
B36 bomber mechanic. He attended the Spartan College of Aeronautics and
Technology in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he met his wife whom he loved
faithfully for the last 55 years. He enjoyed a 39 year career, working
in the propulsion wind tunnel complex at Arnold engineering Development
Center, retiring in 2000. Woody was born June 4, 1937, the son of Samuel
Underwood and Dorothy DuBois, the fourth child in a hard-working farming
family in Woodbury, Tennessee. He attended Central High School in
Nashville, Tennessee, receiving his diploma in 1955. Much of Woody’s
life was defined by his sacrificial love for his family. He is survived
by his loving wife, Sherry; dedicated sister, Gladys Bogle; and three
children, Terry Underwood, Susan Sudberry, and Jimmy Underwood. Woody
was proud that his hard work and commitment to his children resulted in
all three kids graduating from Tennessee Tech University. He was blessed
with five grandchildren, Tyler Maxey, and Zachary, Madison, Abigail, and
Sarah Beth Underwood. Woody developed a love for sports while coaching
three children in softball and baseball. He impacted the lives of many
young men in Tullahoma, coaching Little League baseball for 8 years and
Babe Ruth baseball for 3 years. Visitation for Woody will be held on
Sunday, March 13th, 2016 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00pm with a
memorial service to celebrate his life to immediately follow at 4:00pm.

3/13/16 — Jeffery W. Childress

childressJeffery “Hank” W. Childress, age 58 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away,
Thursday, March 10 2016 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma. Funeral
Services are scheduled for Sunday, March 13 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Watson-North Park Cemetery in
Winchester. Mr. Childress will lie in state from 12 Noon until 1 PM at the
funeral home. Visitation with the family will be from 1 PM until the
service time.

A native of Sewanee, he was the son of the late George Henry Childress and
Mary Elizabeth Moss Childress of Tullahoma. Mr. Childress worked for many
years for the Tullahoma Utility Board. He enjoyed riding motorcycles,
fishing and doing crafts. He especially enjoyed watching and playing
football and he was an avid Peyton Manning fan.

In addition to his mother, Mary E. Childress of Tullahoma, he is survived
by two sons, George Childress of Manchester and Dameon Berry of Vermont;
two daughters, Latoy Berry and Felecia Childress, both of Vermont; one
sister, Joyce Blake of Tullahoma and nine grandchildren.

flower 26On March 10, 2016 Mrs. Dorothy J. Conner age 72 of Tullahoma, TN passed away at Tennova Medical Center Harton Hospital in Tullahoma.

She is preceded in death by her Mother Lizzie Wilhoite; Loving Husband Ronald Conner; Daughter Virginia Farrar and Son Jerry Warren. She is survived by her Sons James (Wife Jeanne Warren) Warren, Ronnie Warren; Step-Son Justin Conner; Grandchildren Samantha (Anthony) Martin, Tabatha Warren, Katie Harris, and Kristie Everett; Great-Grandchildren Brooklyne Martin, Kayde Martin, Alexa Harris and Allison Harris.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 11th, 2016 from Twelve O’clock in the afternoon until One O’clock in the afternoon with immediate service to follow at One O’clock at Tullahoma Funeral Home. The interment will follow to Bethany Cemetery in Coffee County, TN.

March 8, 2016 at Harton Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Friday, March 11 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home
with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation with the family
will be Friday from 12 PM until the service time.

A native of Winchester, she was the daughter of the late James “Buddy”
and
Lillie Marie Farris Bradford. She was an avid Basketball fan and especially
enjoyed watching the San Antonio Spurs play.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Jessie Lee Wagner, one son, Dennis Bill Wagner, and three sisters, Linda
Stanborski, Wilma Bradford and Debra Little.

Mrs. Wagner is survived by two sons, Timothy Mark Wagner of Tullahoma and
Jessie Lee Wagner Jr; four brothers, John Houston Bradford and his wife,
Vickie of Kingston Springs, J B Bradford and his wife, Lisa of Crown Point,
IN, Jerry Bradford of Ohio and Charles Bradford and his wife, Dawn of
Guntersville, AL; one sister, Joy Johnson of Fairview and two grandchildren.

On March 9, 2016 Mrs. Eva Thompson Sherrill age 69 of Tullahoma, TN passed from this life surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Tullahoma and resided here with her family and friends all of her life. Eva proudly worked for 39 years in Quality Control at Tennessee Apparel and proudly attended The Thompson Creek Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Bertha (Mckinney) Thompson; Husband Jewell Sherrill; Brother Rufus Thompson; Sisters Edna Brazier, Syble Trelinski and Mary Ruth Thompson; and Loving Significant Other Mr. Charles Smith. She is survived by her twin sister Ethel Walker; Brothers Uell Thompson, William Thompson and Orville Thompson and one Daughter Melissa Sherrill.

3/9/16 — Dana Elizabeth Greenway

greenwayDana Elizabeth Greenway, age 48 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away,
Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Harton Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services
are scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. Visitation with
the family will be Wednesday from 12 PM until the service time.

A native of Tullahoma, she was the daughter of the late Dalvin Ellis and
Barbara Brown Ellis of Tullahoma. She was a member of the Breakfree
Worship Center of Tullahoma and enjoyed reading and studying her bible
along with her daily devotions. She was a nurturer and loved to cook and
spend time with her grandchildren. Dana was full of personality and
enjoyed telling a good joke.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Mark
Ellis and one sister, Darla Carr.

In addition to her mother, Barbara Brown Ellis of Tullahoma, she is
survived by her husband, Davis Greenway of Tullahoma; two sons, Cale
Greenway and his wife, Chelsea of Winchester and Cameron Greenway of
Tullahoma; one sister, Dwyne Abbott and her husband, Bobby of Chapel Hill
and three grandchildren, Emmeree, Xavier and Beckham Greenway.

stoutFuneral services for Mrs. Marjory Ellen Stout will be conducted Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Manchester with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating with interment immediately following at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Stout passed away on March 6, 2016 at Manchester Healthcare surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 4, 1928 in Darlington, Indiana to the late Lowell and Elizabeth Cox. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Manchester. She enjoyed singing in the civic choir, volunteering for the Good Samaritan, and was an avid Bridge player.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Richard Stout.

Survivors include her sons, Stephen E. (Janie) Stout, Joseph R. Stout; daughters, Katherine Ann (Joseph) Helms, Karen Sue Wright; step-brother, Max (Sylvia) Rhinehart of California; step-sister, Jane Kilgore of Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

03/09/16-James Ronald Gerlach

James Ronald Gerlach, age 77, of Tullahoma, passed away Sunday evening at
Golden Living in Winchester, TN. No services are scheduled.

Mr. Gerlach was born in PA and served his country as an Air Force pilot.
He was a fabricator at Arnold Air Force Base and taught art at Motlow
State Community College. James loved to build old cars and motorcycles,
loved to read, collected old money and coins, and was highly educated.

James was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his
long-time friend, Wayne Thompson.
