Gary Wayne Hamby

Funeral services for Mr. Gary Wayne Hamby, age 61 of Manchester, will be conducted at 12:00PM on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Manchester Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at the funeral home.  Mr. Hamby passed from this life on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Unity Medical Center in Manchester, Tennessee.

Gary was born in Franklin County, Tennessee on October 27, 1960, the son of the late Carl and Ruby Hamby.  He worked as a janitor for many years.  Gary was a quiet man who enjoyed spending his time outdoors.  He loved doing yard work and riding ATV’s.  He was a loving and caring son, brother, and uncle.

In addition to his parents, Gary is also preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Hamby; sisters, Brenda Hamby and Darlene Stoner.  He is survived by his brothers, Bobby Hamby and Scotty Hamby; sister, Sharon Thomas (David); special niece, Angie Thomas; sister-in-law, Debbie Hamby; several other nieces and nephews.

Imogene Allison

Imogene Allison, age 94, of Manchester, TN, passed from
this life on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at NHC HealthCare in Tullahoma,
TN.

Imogene was born in Fayetteville, TN, to her late parents Alvin Dewell
Wells and Lela Bell Jones Wells. She was a loving, wonderful wife, mother,
grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and homemaker.  God
and family were her greatest treasures.  She loved quilting, crafts, and
cooking. Her gift from God was a giving and serving spirit. She was also a
faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church for more than 80 years,
and she dearly loved her church family with many precious memories of times
spent together with them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Roy Allison; brothers, Raymond Wells and Charles E.
Wells; sister, Inez Wells Jones; great granddaughter, Esther Isabella
Allison; and son-in-law, Wayne Rose.

Imogene is survived by a son, William Herschel Allison; daughters, Cleta
Allison Jenkins (Roger) and Jelinda Allison Rose; brothers, Cloys Wells,
Howard G. Wells (Gayle) and Michael Wells (Wanda); sister, Ruth Ann Wells
Callahan; grandchildren, Jeremy Allison (Michelle), Josh Allison, Angela
Jenkins Dorris (Jason), Amanda Jenkins, and Julie Allison; great
grandchildren, MaKenzie Allison, Ashton Allison, Olivia Dorris, and Audrina
Dorris, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from
2:00-4:00 pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services
will be conducted on Saturday, December 18, 2021, with visitation at
10:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am in the chapel of
Central Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Eschenfelder officiating. Burial will
follow at Asbury Cemetery in Manchester, TN.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of NHC
HealthCare for the exceptional, loving care provided to Imogene for the
past 3 years.

Robert Donald Van Noy Sr.

Robert (Bobby) Donald Van Noy, Sr., the last son standing of Mrs. Nellie Mae Hickerson and Mr. Roy Herman Van Noy, joined his eight siblings, Hershell, Herman, Esther, Melvin, Forrestine, Crawford, Wayne and Delores on Thursday, December 2, 2021. This sudden and quiet transition rocked the foundation of Bobby’s family left behind, but we are confident his family awaiting his arrival had a special family reunion. His mother has welcomed her last “little piece of gold.”

Bobby was born in Manchester, Tennessee on January 9, 1938. He graduated from Davidson Academy in Tullahoma, Tennessee where he was an avid sportsman. As an athlete, he was strong, dedicated and committed. Bobby’s personality and friendly disposition always connected him with his family and his community. He loved his family and friends, and he entertained his circle with lots of stories of building huts, swimming in the Little Duck River, playing in the corn fields and his other escapades in school.

Robert, Bobby, Dad, Big Bobby, Bob, Bubba, Mr. Bob, Uncle Bobby, Uncle Bob, Bob A Loo, Big Red or whatever you prefer to call him, he will truly be missed by many, but we take comfort in knowing that he has joined so many that he missed so deeply. As Bobby joins his family everyday can be the 4th of August. We will still celebrate the 4th of August in his memory. It will be different, it will be difficult, but it will be done. 

To cherish his memories is his wife of 19 years, Ann M. Hunter Van Noy, his children Robert Jr., Annette (Walter Mark McClanahan) and Sharon (Mark A. Frisby), his Grandchildren, Mark Jr., Maya, Latisha, Errol, Sheena, Brittany, Cameron, Aiden, Caleb, and Tyron, Great-Grandchildren, Tristan and Cairo, Bobby’s 93 year-old Aunt, Lorene McReynolds, Sisters-in-Law, Patricia Hunter and Edna Cooper, Brothers-in-Law, Charles Cooley and John Hunter, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends, Bobby’s Lifelong Friend, Zeda Norman Brantley. 

Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 2pm in the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Mark A. Frisby, Sr. will deliver the eulogy.

James Gibson Jr

James Gibson Jr of Tullahoma, TN passed this life on Tuesday, December 7,
2021, at his residence at the age of 75. No services are scheduled.

James, a native of Pueblo, Colorado, was the son of the late James C.
Gibson Sr and Bessie  “Ruth” Rodarmel Gibson. In addition to his parents,
James was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Gibson and his brothers;
Robert W. and Wesley Lee Gibson.

James retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He enjoyed
working on electronics and fishing.

James is survived by his son, James Gibson; daughters, Ashley Gibson (Isaac
Kline), Angela Lynn Gibson and Jaquline Gibson.

Kevin Daniel Stewart

On November 24, 2021 Kevin Daniel Stewart left his earthly home in
Manchester Tennessee and reunited with his mother Ima Jean, brother David
Luke, and grandson Jacob Jr. in their heavenly home. Born to his parents,
Ima Jean Ruth Stewart and Rev. Phillip Harland Stewart on September 27,
1952 in Ceres, California, Kevin was raised in the Central Valley where his
dad was an Assembly of God minister and a plasterer. Kevin attended local
schools graduating from Ceres High School in 1970. He was an avid athlete
playing high school football, basketball, baseball and track. He was chosen
as the sole recipient in Ceres High School Inaugural Hall of Fame for the
class of 1970. He played football at Modesto Junior College and at New
Mexico Highlands University where he was awarded a football scholarship.
Kevin married his high school sweetheart Judith Ann Smith on May 20, 1972
and they had two sons Joshua born in 1972 and Jacob born in 1978. Kevin
spent his career as a plasterer and built his own business which followed
him when he moved his family from California to Oregon, Arkansas, Texas and
Tennessee. A man of strong faith Kevin deeply loved his family and nothing
was better than the time he spent with them sharing his love of God, sports
and fishing. Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Judy and
their sons Josh (Dora) and Jake (Jamie); their grandchildren Emily (Jacob),
Kacy, Joshua, Max, and great grandchildren Ella, Hudson, Addilyn, and
Porter. Kevin was much beloved by his surviving 97-year-old Father (Rev.
Phillip); his brothers and sister, many nieces and nephews, as well as so
many friends. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation
with the family will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 4:00pm
until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services
will be conducted on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 1:00pm from the chapel
of Central Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens

Danny Dwight Swann

Memorial graveside services for Danny Dwight Swann, age 51 of Hillsboro,
will be conducted at 110 AM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in the
Summitville cemetery with Pastor Brenton Cox officiating. Danny passed away
on Sunday, December 5 at his home.

Danny was born on June 26, 1970, in Manchester to the late Phillip Dwight
Swann and Patricia Jean Carroll Swann. He was a machine operator at Kasai
in Manchester for over 20 years, and he attended the First Baptist Church
of Manchester. Danny was an avid collector of ball cards, Hotwheels, coins,
stamps, and comic books.

In addition to his father, Danny is preceded in death by his infant sister,
Sheila Swann, maternal grandparents, Eugene and Joyce Booher, and paternal
grandparents, Delbert and Pauline Swann. He is survived by his wife, Angie
Smith Swann; children, Brittany Smith-Hill, and Nathan Dwight Swann;
grandchildren, Courtlyn Hill, and Mason and Maverick Tudor; sisters, Angela
Crowell, Tonya Fowler and her husband, Lee, and Michelle Swann; nephews,
Josh Booher and Jeromey Crowell; several extended family members and a host
of friends.

Albert “Al” Bart

Albert “Al” Bart of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away on December 5, 2021,
at the age of 92 from complications due to Parkinson’s disease. The son of
Italian immigrants, Al was born in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Stella
(Ebetino) DeBartolo. Raised in Rye, New York, he went on to graduate from
Columbia and Boston Universities and serve as a Navy officer during the
Korean war. He spent the last five decades of his life in Tullahoma,
retiring more than 25 years ago from the University of Tennessee Space
Institute and spending nearly 15 years in post-retirement with H&R Block.
An avid reader and dedicated golfer until late in life, Al spent his final
years as a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living in Tullahoma where he
endeared himself to all those around him. He is survived by his five
children, Alison Sheehan (Frank) (Laurel, Maryland), Susan DeBartolo (Jim
Dittman) (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Lauren Shields (Bob Smorodin) (University City,
Missouri), Stephen Bart (Trisha Gura) (West Newton, Massachusetts), and
Albert Bart, Jr. (Dawn) (Brentwood, Tennessee), eight grandchildren, and
two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear friend and
companion, Bertie Davis (Tullahoma, Tennessee). Preceding him in death was
his sister Lucy Sabatine Hutcherson, brother Salvatore “Sal” Bart, first
wife Sue Rowley Bart, second wife Joan Peterson Bart, and grandchild
Alexander Shields. Arrangements for a memorial service will be determined
at a later date, and the family asks that those who wish to do so remember
Al by making a contribution in his name to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Michael J. Fox Foundation or Tennessee Golf Foundation. He will be greatly missed.

Sheryl Colleen Roadinger

Graveside services for Mrs. Sheryl Colleen Roadinger, age 69 of Manchester, will be conducted on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 2:15PM at Forest Mill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 2:00PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.  Mrs. Roadinger passed from this life on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma – Harton Hospital in Tullahoma, TN.

Sheryl was born in St. Louis, MO on December 29, 1951, the daughter of the late Gerald and Eleanor Hawkins.  She was an artist and loved any type of craft.  Sheryl was a loving person who never met a stranger.  She would help anyone in need, and always had a positive outlook on life.  Sheryl would volunteer at any function possible from theater to scouts that her children were involved in. She devoted her entire life to her family and their happiness. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Sheryl is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Thomas Roadinger; brother, Gerald Hawkins, Jr.  She is survived by her sons, Thomas Roadinger (Robin), Robert Roadinger (Mary), and James Roadinger (Tina); daughters, Julia Gibbs (Matt), Rebecca Roadinger-Chesney (Ada), Elizabeth Roadinger (Lawrence Brown), and Ashleigh Sain; brother, Conrad Hawkins; grandchildren, Rory Gibbs, Ronin Gibbs, Zoe Roadinger, and Ashton Clark.

Gerald Leighton Ewell, Sr

Graveside services for Mr. Ewell will be conducted on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2PM in the Manchester City Cemetery with military honors.. 

Gerald Leighton Ewell, Sr., of Manchester, died December 1, 2021.  He was born July 3, 1929 to Leighton Ewell and Elizabeth Jameson Ewell, both of whom predeceased him, as did his sister, Corinne Ewell Spencer, and a nephew, Frank Ewell Spencer.  He was married to his wife, Katherine, for over 60 years; but she predeceased him by three and a half years.  He is survived by a daughter, Amy Ewell (Bunker) Stout; a son, Gerald L. Ewell, Jr., a grandson, Sam (Michelle) Stout and a granddaughter, Kirby Stout (Greg) Zora.  He was a member of the Main Street church of Christ. 

He graduated high school from Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee and received BA and JD degrees from Vanderbilt University, where he was President of his law fraternity; President of the Law School student body and Chief Justice of the Vanderbilt Moot Court. 

Upon his return to Manchester from military service in the United States Navy; he practiced law and was an Assistant District Attorney for 15 years.  In 1972, he was elected Circuit Judge for Coffee County and served continuously in this position for 26 years and intermittently thereafter at the call of the Chief Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court.  During this time, at the request of the Chief Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court; he served at times on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. 

Judge Ewell was a member of many civic organizations; served on various municipal boards and commissions and was a member of the Manchester Board of Education for seven years, three years as Chairman.    He was also a member of the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Manchester for more than 30 years.  He was an avid ham radio operator holding Amateur Extra class ham radio license with the call signal containing his initials N4GE; he also flew radio-controlled model airplanes for more than 25 years and was a beekeeper for over 40 years, giving most of the honey he harvested to friends.  At his death there had been a Ewell in continuous law practice in Coffee County for 120 continuous years.

Joe Theo Brassfield

Mr. Joe Theo Brassfield, age 82, of Estill
Springs, TN, passed from this life on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his
residence.

Mr. Brassfield was born in Viola, TN, to his late parents Speaker Woodrow
Brassfield and Fannie Eliza Ikard Brassfield. He was a surveyor and bridge
inspector for the state of Tennessee for many years. Mr. Brassfield was a
loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, coach, and
mentor. He very much loved his family and friends. Mr. Brassfield loved UT
Football, hunting, gardening, and being outdoors. Mr. Brassfield was
described as a humble, honest, giving, hard working person and was a God
fearing man. He was a member of Prairie Plains Church of Christ. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Carolyn
Juanita Brassfield and Regina “Cookie” Dargan Bradley Brassfield.

Mr. Brassfield is survived by his sons, William Allen (Tammy) Brassfield,
Joe Lee (Kim) Brassfield, Jason Scot (Jill) Brassfied; daughter, Kristie
Michelle (Steve) Brassfield Holt; step-sons, Michael Edward (Julie) Giffin
and Steven Craig (Amy) Giffin; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from
4:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral
services will be conducted on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 1:00pm in the
chapel of Central Funeral Home with Billy Robison officiating. Burial will
follow in Prairie Plains Church of Christ Cemetery.
