1/13/17—Raymond Alexander Roush, Jr.

Roush Jr., Raymond Alexander, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday,
January 7th, 2017 at his home at the age of 88. Mr. Roush was born in
Michigan to the late Raymond A. Roush Sr. and Edna Roush. During his
life, he worked as a crane operator with Bliss and Laughlin Steel. In
addition to his parents, Mr. Roush was preceded in death by his wife,
Dorothy Jean Roush; and two sisters, Martha Jones and Lou Lefevre. He is
survived by three sons, Rocky Roush and his wife Fran of Monee, Illinois,
Jeff Roush and his wife Sue of Thornton, Illinois, and Mark Roush of
Tullahoma; one daughter, Cindy Pruitt and her husband Lynn of Brownsburg,
Indiana; one sister, Marlene Panish and her husband Pete; grandchildren,
Matthew, Amy, Mark (Diana), Brett, Christy (Dan), and Brittany (Matthew);
great-grandchildren, Arlie and Violet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Roush will be held on Thursday, January 12th, 2017 at
Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on
Friday, January 13th, 2017 at 11:00am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel
with his brother-in-law, Bro. Philip Swinford officiating. Burial will
follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

1/11/17—Bobbie Scott Shasteen

Bobbie Scott Shasteen, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at Life Care Center at the age of 85. She was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee to the late George and Grace Allen Scott. Miss Bobbie, as she was often referred to, worked as a court reporter early in her career, then went on to work in several law offices in Tullahoma and Manchester. She loved being a legal secretary and was very good at what she did. Also, in earlier years, she was very active in the Community Playhouse, Business and Professional Women’s Club, and was often seen campaigning for her favorite candidate in local and statewide elections. Miss Bobbie always loved entertaining friends and family and enjoyed having her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren over for large holiday meals. She was a very good cook and inspired several of her granddaughters to follow in her love of cooking. She was a very independent woman and usually spoke her mind, but she also had a great sense of humor that her grandchildren especially loved. In addition to her parents, Miss Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clifford Shasteen Jr.; one brother, Donald Scott; and one sister, Brenda Wichman. She is survived by one sister, Kay Fowler of Hagerstown, Maryland; four children, Gaye Felts and her husband Mark of Tullahoma, Deanna Ellis and her husband David of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Scott Shasteen and his wife Jamie of Tullahoma, and Richard Shasteen and his wife Pam of Tullahoma; eight grandchildren, Korie Felts Mattasits, Craig Felts, Anderson Ellis, Lauren Ellis Keplinger, Caroline Ellis, Jackie Shasteen, Alivia Shasteen, and Jackson Shasteen; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 at 10:00am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Hice and Rev. Tim McGehee officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. 1/8/17 — James Richard York

James Richard York was born January 3, 1943, to the late James Casto and
Elsie Lone Crouch York of Manchester, Tennessee. He was also preceded in
death by a sister; Billie M. Moran. He is survived by his loving and
devoted wife Joyce Elaine York. James and Joyce made Manchester their
home. He was a member of the Manchester Church of God, repaired
appliances at Garner’s Furniture store before retirement and enjoyed
spending time with his family. He is also survived by four children;
Dennis R. York (Kathy) of Hillsboro, Tennessee, Keith D. York (Jan) of
Manchester, Tennessee, Rhonda S. Cleek of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and
Becky R. Harden (Jamie) of Manchester, Tennessee, eight grandchildren;
Tasha B. Long of Manchester, Tennessee, Maggie George, Tyler York of
Manchester, Tennessee, Kinsey York of Manchester, Tennessee, Kristina
Cleek of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Elaine Holt of Manchester, Tennessee,
Brooklyn Bruner of Manchester, Tennessee, Caleb Harden of Manchester,
Tennessee, three great-grandchildren; Abel Long, Karmenn Pruitt, and
Haylely Holt, and three brothers; Sammy L. York (Elaine) of Manchester,
Tennessee, Charles R. York (Cathy) of Manchester, Tennessee, and Lee R.
York (Kathy) of Wartrace, Tennessee.

1/8/17 — William McKenley “Bill” Foust

Memorial services for Mr. William McKenley “Bill” Foust, age 69, of
Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 8, 2017
at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will be from
2:00 pm until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Foust
passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at his residence.

Bill was born in Anderson County, TN, the son of the late Lowell and
Lillian Nance Foust. He was a paper deliverer for Knoxville News
Sentinel and was of the Baptist faith. Bill loved classic cars and was a
member of the National Street Machine Club.

In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by a cousin,
Tommy Foust. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Caral Foust; five
sons, Andrew Keith, Matthew Levi, Adam Dustin Foust, Cody Ryland Foust,
and Coleman McKenley Foust; one sister, Linda McKamey; and three
grandchildren, Ryland Lowell Foust, Hunter Langston Foust, Connor
McKenley Foust, and one grandson on the way.

1/7/17 — Jesse A. Shore

Jesse A Shore, age 82, of Manchester, TN, passed away on January 2, 2017.
Jesse was born on March 1, 1934 to the late Glenn And Mertie Shore in
Algona, IA. He served 2 years in the Army prior to receiving his Bachelor
Of Science Mechanical Engineering at the University of Iowa. His 30 year
career with the Army Corps of Engineers gave him an opportunity to pursue
his passions for travel and various space engineering projects, including
building NORAD observation center in Colorado, building a launch pad in
Cape Canaveral, Florida and his last years were spent at AEDC near
Manchester where he fell in love with the land and people of Tennessee.
Jesse enjoyed woodworking, family genealogy and most of all spending time
with family and Church family. He was a beloved member of St. Bede’s
Episcopal Church of Manchester and a 50 year Mason. He was preceded in
death by his niece, Mary Beth Shore and great-niece, Whitney Jordan. He is
survived by his three brothers, William Shore of Davenport, IA, Bruce Shore
of Albany, NY, Clifford Shore of Rock Island, IL and two sisters, Mary
Moon of Yuma, AZ and Caroline Tharp of Waterloo, IA, caregiver Karen Davis
of Nashville and 21 nieces and nephews and 48 great-nieces and nephews. A
Celebration of Life will be held at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church this
Saturday, January 7, at 2 PM. Memorials- St. Bede’s Episcopal or Hospice
Compassus.

1/7/17 — John Clay Troxler

John Clay Troxler passed this life on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 at
Tennova Healthcare-Harton at the age of 93. Mr. Troxler was born in
Fairfield, TN to the late Bennett and Ethel Lee Troxler. He served his
country proudly in World War II from 1944-1946 as a radio operator in the
53rd Infantry Division of The United States Army. Mr. Troxler later went
on to work as a freight agent for the North Carolina & St. Louis, L&N,
and CSX railroads for 44 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a
member of the Tullahoma Masonic Lodge for 50 years where he became a 32nd
degree Mason, as well as a member of the Al Menah Shriners of Nashville.
Mr. Troxler and his family were also Charter Members of King’s Cross
Church in Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, Mr. Troxler is preceded
in death by one son-in-law, Jim Smith; and two brothers, Aubrey and
Robert Troxler. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years Irma
Stephens Troxler of Tullahoma; two daughters, Elaine Stephenson and her
husband Richard of Gallatin, and Beverly Smith of Gallatin; two
grandsons, Sean Stephenson and his wife Carol of Dresden, TN, and John
Stephenson and his wife Marsha of Murfreesboro, TN; four
great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Odelle Troxler of Franklin,
TN, and Alice Joy Troxler of Fairfield, TN. Visitation for Mr. Troxler
will be held on Friday, January 6th, 2017 from 4:00-8:00pm at Kilgore
Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Saturday, January 7th, at
1:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Moody
officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Wartrace, TN.

1/5/17—Bruce Clyde McElroy

Bruce Clyde McElroy, a resident of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday,
January 3, 2017 at the age of 58 years. Memorial Services are scheduled
for Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church
of Fayetteville.

A native of Huntsville, he was the son of the late Clyde and Virginia
Montgomery McElroy. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in
Fayetteville and was very involved with church activities and his church
family. He enjoyed farming, watching TN Vols football and watching “Law
and Order” on TV. He loved rock and roll music, especially listening to
the Rolling Stones. He also enjoyed reading James Patterson’s novels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Monte
McElroy.

He is survived by one daughter, Erin Pratt and her husband, Jason of
Harvest, AL; two brothers, Charlie McElroy and his wife, Michelle of
Fayetteville and Randy McElroy and his wife, Kathy of Fayetteville; two
sisters, Katrina LeBlanc and her husband, Tom of Fayetteville and Sherry
Foley and her husband, Gene of Huntsville; one grandchild, Ella Kate Pratt;
sister-in-law, Lila McElroy of Fayetteville and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in his honor
to the First United Methodist Church of Fayetteville, TN, 200 Elk Ave N,
Fayetteville, TN, 37334.

1/6/17-Jewell Dean Wells

Wells, Jewell Dean passed this life on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 at
Tennova Healthcare-Harton at the age of 83. Mrs. Wells was born in Coffee
County to the late Orland F. and Florence I. Ellis Wall. During her life
she worked as a secretary at Tennessee Apparel, Wilson Ball, and AEDC.
She was also a longtime member of the church of Christ at Cedar Lane. In
addition to her parents, Mrs. Wells is preceded in death by her husband,
Raymond E. Wells. She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Bigham and her
husband Terry of Tullahoma; two sisters, Doris Broadrick and Jeanette
Eslick and her husband Aaron, all of Tullahoma; and two grandchildren,
Andrea and Derrick Bigham. Visitation for Mrs. Wells will be held on
Thursday, January 5th, 2017 from 4:00-7:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. A
private graveside service will follow on Friday, January 6th with Gary
Johnson officiating.

1/4/17—Myrtle Elizabeth “Libby” Swanger

Myrtle Elizabeth “Libby” Swanger was born October 21, 1941 to the late
John Thomas and Grace Coker Hawkersmith of Decherd, Tennessee. Libby is
also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelley Goana and a brother Wayne
Hawkersmith. Libby is survived by her loving husband Foster V. Swanger.
Libby and Foster made Manchester their home. Libby was affiliated with
the Calvary Baptist on the McMinnville Highway in Manchester. She worked
and retired from the Batesville Casket Company. Libby had many talents, a
few being crocheting, sewing, knitting, and cooking. She was always making
something for someone else and enjoyed doing it. Libby has two children;
Shana L. Mai (Bill) of Manchester, Tennessee and Ronald D. Wilhoite of
Murfreesboro, Tennessee, nine grandchildren; Jessica L. Trussell of
Manchester, Tennessee, Jonathan D. Mai of Nashville, Tennessee, Joseph W.
Mai of Monroeville, Alabama, Blake Simmons of Manchester,Tennessee, Jason
Wilhoite of Manchester, Tennessee,Josh Wilhoite of Manchester, Tennessee,
Megan Simmons of Manchester, Tennessee, Latisha Goana of Manchester,
Tennessee, Alex Goana of Manchester, Tennessee, five great-grandchildren;
Kennedi Walz, Isaac Walz, Aiden Mai, Madeline Mai, and Braylon Simmons,
and a brother; Randy Hawkersmith of Huntsville, Alabama.
