Ro Adams

Mr. Ro Adams, age 54, of Hillsboro, TN, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Adams was born in Manchester, TN, to his late parents, Earl Adams and Patricia Lynn. He worked with LKQ for 20 years in sales. Mr. Adams loved the outdoors, Chevrolet trucks, and loved serving the Hillsboro community in any way he could. He loved caring for and helping people no matter who you were. Mr. Adams was generous with his time and he never met a stranger.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tracey Adams; son, Zach Adams; sisters, Earlene (Ricky) Henley, Paulene Adams, and Colene Cutshaw; mother-in-law, Sue Simmons; aunt, Betty Adams Rodriguez; dog, Dottie and Tater.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, August 5, 2022, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Central Funeral Home with Adam Cutshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Winton Cemetery in Hillsboro, TN.

At the request of the family, they would like for everyone in attendance to dress in casual attire, no formal wear.

Rebecca Sue Lesley

Rebecca Sue Lesley, of Tullahoma passed this life on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at her residence at the age of 59. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. The family will accept friends from 12 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Rebecca was the daughter of the late John and Jo Ann Broaddus Parsons. She graduated Tullahoma Highschool in 1981, was ham radio operator and volunteered with Walk to Emmaus. She also had a love for animals. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ernie Parsons and sister, Patricia McArthur. She is survived by her husband, Doug Lesley of Tullahoma, TN; brother, Rick Parsons (Ida) of Tullahoma, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Tullahoma Humane Society at P.O Box 807 Tullahoma, Tennessee 37388.

Chasity Scott

Chasity Scott of Manchester passed this life on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Summit Medical Center at the age of 40. No services are scheduled.

Ms. Scott was the daughter of the late Tommy Privett and Becky Elaine Thomas Privett who survives. She enjoyed listening to music and swimming.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Scott. She is survived by her mother, Becky Privett of Manchester; sons, Dillan Scot and Logan Scott; daughters, Erica Rain Scott and Abigal Hope Nay; brother, Jessie Privett (Michelle) of Hillsboro; sisters, April Dawn Privett and Marie Johnson (Stacy) all of Manchester.

Robert “Rob” Theodore Petersen II

A memorial visitation for Mr. Robert “Rob” Theodore Petersen, II, age 52 of Manchester, will be conducted from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Manchester Funeral Home.  Mr. Petersen passed from this life on Monday, July 18, 2022, at his residence in Manchester, TN.

Rob was born in Manchester, TN, on April 27, 1970, the son of the late Robert and Andrea Petersen.  He was a United States Air Force veteran, who enjoyed cycling, riding motorcycles, and rock climbing.  In his free time you could find Rob hiking with his dogs at Old Stone Fort.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, Sr. and Andrea Petersen.  He is survived by his daughter, Amaryl Petersen; brother, Erik Petersen, Sr. (Kelley); sisters, Kristel Gainor (Rich), Amaryl Morie (Scott), and Andrea Ritchie (Dennis); multiple nieces and nephews.

Ada Fern Stanley

Ada Fern Stanley, age 102, died Saturday, July 30, 2022, in Manchester. Ada was born on June 8, 1920, the daughter of Danish immigrants, Albert and Ferna Thomason Scheuer.

Ada grew up in Utah and was retired from the phone company in North Carolina. After moving to Manchester, she worked until after age 90 at Walmart.

In addition to her parents, Ada is preceded in death by her husband, Craig Stanley; her only child, Michael Kelley; brother, Ellis Scheuer; sister, Esther Burgess; and sister, Karen Massey of Manchester. She is also preceded in death by a favorite niece, Eva Thomas of Manchester. Ada is survived by a number of nieces and nephews spanning several generations, including Kamilla Wright of Manchester, and her family. She is also survived by a number of extended Stanley family members and by food friends, Phyllis Durr and Wanda Harmon.

Graveside services are scheduled for a later date.

Doris Beatrice “Bea” Bland

Doris Beatrice “Bea” Bland passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at her home in Decherd at the age of 91. Services will be held Thursday, Aug 4, 2022 at 1 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Watson-North Cemetery in Winchester. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until service time.

Mrs. Bland was the daughter of the late William Clarence and Ellen Sandridge McDonald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Elmer “Bob” Bland; sons, infant, Terry Lee and Roger Dale, Ricky Joe and William L. Bland; grandchildren, Dusty Williams and Roger Bland; son-in-law, Tommy F. Crossland; sister, Myram Stewart and brothers, Junior, Kenneth and Bobby McDonald

She is survived by daughters, Sue Crossland of Winchester and Diane “Peanut” Hall of Sevierville; son, Wayne Bland (Melissa) of Sevierville; fourteen grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Bea was a loving wife, mother and granny. She was always putting others first in her life even when she sick, she was worrying about others. She was a devoted Christian and attended Perry Plains Baptist Church. She worked at the hat factory in Winchester, Tennessee Apparel in Tullahoma and Shaw Industries in Cowan.

Mrs. Bland’s family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Compassus, with special attention to Rita and Sherri who treated her like their own.

Mrs. Bland will be escorted to her resting place, next to her husband, by their grandsons.

Michael “Mikey” Cannon

Michael “Mikey” Cannon, of Estill Springs, TN passed away July 25, 2022, at the age of 35. Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11 AM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 5 – 8 PM.

He is survived by a brother, Brian (Michelle) Cannon of Estill Springs; two daughters, Kinsley Rose Cannon age 6 and Kyleigh Shae Dixon age 10 of Jefferson City, TN;  an uncle John (Elaine) Messier of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a host of friends who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lynne M Cannon and Charles William Cannon of Tullahoma, TN.

Michael grew up in Tullahoma where he attended Tullahoma High School. Michael enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, cleaning his car, spending time with his girls and hanging out with friends. Michael had some struggles, but he lived everyday to the fullest and tried to enjoy each day. If you knew Michael you knew he had a heart of Gold and would help anyone at any time. He loved his friends and family and cherished them. He made you laugh and cry all at the same time. He was a jokester and could pull a fast one on you better than anyone. Our family is grateful to know he is finally at peace, and as Mikey would say ROLL TIDE! His famous last words, “Don’t Tell Me What To Do”.

Lynne M. Cannon

Lynne M. Cannon, age 67, of Tullahoma passed away July 26, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Funeral Services are scheduled for August 2, 2022 at 10 AM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until service time. Burial is scheduled for 1 PM at Nashville National Cemetery. Lynne was born June 18, 1955 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by a son, Brian (Michelle) Cannon of Estill Springs, TN; her one and only granddaughter, Kinsley Rose Cannon of Jefferson City, TN; brother, Jon (Elaine) Messier of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nieces and nephew, Jon S., Larissa, Jessica Messier and Jennifer (Mike) Beradino; four grand-nieces and a nephew and a lifelong friend, Stevie LeBlanc from Tullahoma, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elizabeth Sheeley of Fayetteville TN; husband, Charles William Cannon of Tullahoma, TN; son, Michael Timothy Cannon of Estill Springs TN. 

Lynne grew up traveling the world in an Army family. After graduating High School in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, she met and married Charles Cannon in San Clemente, California. Several years later they moved to Tullahoma and soon after she lost her husband, leaving her a widow to raise their two sons, Brian and Michael. They were her pride and joy. She devoted her life to raising her boys attending all sporting events, being involved in all aspects of their lives. She remained in Tullahoma close to her sons until her passing. She was a very hard worker, very conscientious, as well as a good friend. She had a twenty- year career and later retired from the Wal-Mart in Tullahoma, TN where she made many lifelong friends. Lynne loved photography, watching reality shows, antique shopping, picnics, camping. Lynne was a kind and generous soul with a wicked sense of humor.

Jerry Ray Prater

Mr. Jerry Ray Prater, age 74, of Beechgrove, TN, passed from this life on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Prater was born in Woodbury to his late parents Joe L. Prater and On Nadine Pitts Prater. He worked for Cummins Signs in Murfreesboro for 25 years, then went on to row-cropping soy beans with his brother Lonnie and wife and son and also grew pepper for several years afterwards. After retiring from Cummins, he and his wife started 4-J Chair Shop where they build hand-made rocking chairs, ladder backs and several other types of chairs with the help of son Jr., sister-in-law Pam, and later to be son, Jeffery. Little did they know that their business would thrive for 32+ years. He was a member of the Iconiura Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Laved Duggin and Cathy Crouch; brothers, Lannie Prater and Dwaine Prater.

Mr. Prater is survived by his wife, Joyce Prater; sons, JR (Rhonda) Prater and Jeffery (Heather) Prater; grandchildren, Kiersten Prater, Amelia Prater, Paisley Prater, and Tori Prater.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Central Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Duncan Cemetery in the Goose Pond Community.

Cricket Kemp Scott

Mrs. Cricket Kemp Scott, age 82, of Manchester, TN, passed from this life Thursday, July 28, 2022, in Murfreesboro, TN. 

Mrs. Scott was born in Hartsville, TN, but lived most of her life in Rutherford and Coffee County. She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Manchester, TN.

Cricket is preceded in death by her parents Genie Edgar Kemp and Lillie B. Loftis and her grandparents, several aunts and one uncle. Also one brother-in-law Donald Hucks, one niece Paula Williams both from Great Falls, Montana. 

She is survived by the love of her life Grady S. Scott of 29 years and her much loved son Stephen Michael Melton and wife Tara of Murfreesboro, TN. A sister Ruby Hucks of Great Falls, Montana, two nieces Pattie Harris and Pam Ferguson of Great Falls, Montana. 

Cricket worked for JC Penney Co. for 23 1/2 years and SunTrust Bank for 8 years in Murfreesboro, TN. She was dedicated to her work. She was chosen as employee of the month while she was working for SunTrust by the Chamber of Commerce. She loved to sew and decorate for Christmas and was very artistic. She had a great loved for all kinds of music. She and Grady loved to cruise and do land trips, taking 47 cruises and about 100 land trips. She also loved the elderly very much and had many friends in Murfreesboro and Manchester. Grady was her rock, soul mate, and love of her life. They dearly loved each other. They both had the same birthday on April 10 and were inseparable.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, from 11:00am until 2:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be conducted immediately following visitation at 2:00pm in the chapel of Central Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County,
