5/12/17 — Henry Montalvo

Henry Montalvo of Tullahoma (formally of Bauxite and Benton, Arkansas) died
unexpectedly on May 6, 2017 at his residence, at the age of 73 years.
Memorial Services are scheduled on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1 PM at the
First Assembly of God, 1105 W Lincoln St, Tullahoma, TN 37388. Visitation
with the family will be from 11 AM till 1 PM.

Mr. Montalvo was the son of the late Jose and Guadalupe Muquiz Montalvo. He
has one of eighteen children. In his earlier years Henry served his country
in The United States Marine Corps active from 1962-1966 and then helped
with recruiting and the Marine Corps Ball Planning. Semper Fi. Henry was
married to Frances (Freddie) Batts (formerly Montalvo) Armstrong of
Tullahoma who is the mother of his two daughters. In Arkansas, Henry was
active with charitable and community activities including being an Eagle
Scout Leader and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Henry moved to Tennessee a year ago after being a long time resident of
Arkansas to spend his remaining time with his two daughters Christie (John)
Steverson of Tullahoma and Dianna (Ben) Chappell of Columbia, grandkids
Jamie (Lazaro) Rojas, Christina (Michael Collins) Steverson, Trey and
Cameron Steverson, Sierra Chappell, Gabriel and Aidan Chappell, great
grandkids Christian Javier Rojas and Landon Lamar Collins.

After moving to Tennessee Henry joined membership at First Assembly of God
where he was Baptized, enjoyed Soaring with the Eagles, and Door Greeting.
Henry also joined the Tullahoma Senior Citizen Center where he volunteered
for a short time. Henry enjoyed eating at the Downtown Café with his
special friend Linda Nelson.

In his last days Henry enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has request that memorial donations be made
in his honor to the First Assembly of God, 1105 W Lincoln St, Tullahoma, TN
37388.

6/24/17–Jeanette Elizabeth Clark Popp

Jeannette Elizabeth Clark Popp, 98, passed away May 9, 2017 in Tullahoma,
TN. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Robert David Popp in 2003,
her brothers George, Harold (Bud), Robert and Thomas Clark and her sister
Emily Young. She is survived by children Barbara (Calvin) Baker of
Hendersonville, NC; Mary (Leslie D) Marsh of Wartrace, TN; James
(Gabriella) Popp of Zalaszanto, Hungary; Robert (Rosemary) Popp of
Alpharetta, GA; Patricia (Kerry) Loughman of East Greenbush, NY.
Grandchildren Mark and Tyler Baker of Atlanta, GA; Jess Popp of
Albuquerque, NM, Ben Popp of Portland, OR; Antonia Fiber of London,
England; Keith, Tim and Christina Wilson of Lebanon, TN; Jennifer Wilson of
Clarksville, TN; Katelyn, Kevin and Erin Loughman of Albany, NY; Alexander,
Ana, Javis and Kenyetta Popp of Alpharetta, GA. She is also survived by 11
great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm, Saturday June
24, 2017 at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma, TN. Visitation
with the family will be from 1 – 3 PM. The family asks that gifts in-lieu
of flowers be given in memory to either the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society or to the Williams Syndrome Association.

Jeannette (“Jean”) was born January 13, 1919 in Buffalo, NY to Harold
William and Elizabeth Fox Clark. She graduated from Syracuse University in
1941 and taught social studies for 20 years in Walton, NY. She raised 5
children and was active in 4-H, Girl Scouts, American Cancer Society, the
Red Cross and the First Congregational Church in Walton. She retired in
1980 with her husband Bob to Zephyrhills, FL where they enjoyed golfing and
helping in the community (Meals on Wheels and the local schools). She
enjoyed traveling the United States and the World getting the opportunity
to visit her sister in Thailand in 1984 during an around the world trip. In
2013 she moved to Tullahoma, TN to be closer to her daughter Mary and
family.

5/11/17 — Ruth Amburgey

Ruth Amburgey, age 90, passed away at her home with her family at her side on May 8, 2017. Mrs. Amburgey was born September 23, 1926, in Nashville, to the late Bill and Sarah Watkins Burton. Ruth Burton met Gordon “Tag” Amburgey and they were married for 62 years until “Tag” passed. Mrs. Amburgey was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Amburgey, a sister, Reatha Shearron, and a brother, Raymond Burton.

Mrs. Amburgey graduated from St. Thomas School of nursing in 1947. Ruth kept her degree active up until she was 80 years old. Ruth was very involved in the First Presbyterian Church and her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi. She loved playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived a daughter, Sheri Hyatt and her husband Adam, two grandsons, Josh Woolum and Tanner Hyatt, and two great-grandsons Andrew and Jaydin Woolum. Ruth was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. 5/2/17—Jordyn Rae Richardson

Jordyn Rae Richardson, infant daughter of Coy and Heather Hardiman Richardson of Manchester, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Fredonia Cemetery in Manchester.

5/10/17 — Emma “Janie” Simmons

Emma “Janie” Simmons of Tullahoma passed this life on Monday, May 8, 2017
at the Trustpoint Hospital in Murfreesboro at the age of 67 years. Funeral
services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 2 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 12- 2 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A native of Coffee County, Janie was the daughter of the late Cleadus Jones
and Annie Jane Branch Jones who survives. She was an LPN and worked for
many years in the healthcare industry. She was a member of the Church of
Jesus Christ in Tullahoma and enjoyed collecting dolls and going to flea
markets looking for treasures. She loved animals and always had her
special pet dogs. She also loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one grandchild,
Torrey Simmons.

Janie is survived by her mother, Annie Jane Jones of McMinnville; husband,
Jimmy Simmons of Tullahoma; two sons, Teddy Simmons of Tullahoma and Jeff
Simmons and his wife, Taresa of Tullahoma; one sister, Joyce Sons and her
husband, Ronnie of Tullahoma; two grandchildren, Kelvy Rollins and his
wife, Rachel of Manchester and Kia Quick of Manchester; one great
grandchild on the way and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

5/7/17 — Wanda Smith Bradford

Wanda Smith Bradford, age 76, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., following an extended illness. Ms. Bradford was born on May 9, 1940, in Lynchburg, Tenn., to the late Wilburn Woodrow Smith and Mildred Lawson Smith. Ms. Bradford was a member of the New Center Grove Church of Christ. She was employed for many years at Tennessee Apparel in Tullahoma before she had to leave her employment due to health reasons. She was in the first twenty people to receive a heart transplant at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville in 1993. Ms. Bradford’s many talents were sewing and made most of her daughters clothes when they were at home. She was also a talented cook. Ms. Bradford enjoyed camping and reading. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Bradford was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Billy Ray Bradford and a sister, Patricia J. Mueller. She is survived by her daughters; Kim Bradford of Estill Springs, Cheryl (Ronald) Clark and Pamela (Stanley) Tankersley all of Tullahoma and Gina (Jon) Qualls of Lynchburg. Sister, Sandra (Ronnie) Cawthorn of Tullahoma. Grandchildren; Cody (Katie) Tankersley of Pelham, Brittany (Nick) Christine of Estill Springs, Todd (Kelsey) Qualls of Lynchburg, Raven (Dylan) Garner of Winchester, Paige (James) Hall of Tullahoma, Jared Qualls of Lynchburg. Great-grandchildren; Preston, Ryland, Emmilyn, Raeley, Anzlee, Emily, Allyssa, Miles and Addie.
Visitation for Mrs. Bradford will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday, May 6, 2017, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services for Mrs. Bradford are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2017, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Byron Lawrence, officiating. Interment will follow in the Pennington Cemetery in Winchester with family serving as pallbearers.

Evelyn F Rackler of Tullahoma passed this life on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at
the Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 93 years. Funeral services
are scheduled for Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation with the
family will be Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 12 – 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home.

A native of Tullahoma, TN, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Edith
Ethel McPheron Overman. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts but
especially making and decorating cakes and crocheting. She loved working
in her flower garden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
William “Eugene” Rackler and one brother, Donald Overman.

Mrs. Rackler is survived by two sons, Norman Edward Brown of Tullahoma and
Donnie Rackler and his wife, Cathy of Tullahoma; one daughter, Linda Garner
of Tullahoma; one brother, Robert Overman of Normandy; two sisters, Doris
Brown and Janice Diehl, both of Tullahoma; eight grandchildren; eleven
great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

5/6/17 — Alfred “Pete” Edens

Alfred “Pete” Edens of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, May 3,
2017 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 90 years. Graveside
services are scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Smith’s
Chapel Cemetery in Moore County. Visitation with the family will be
Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A native of Moore County, TN, he was the son of the late Hubert L and Clara
West Edens. He was a U S Army veteran and retired from George Dickel
Distillery where he was a bottling house crew leader. He enjoyed
gardening, fishing and going to yard sales looking for treasures to collect.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy
Haynes Edens; three brothers, Robert, Clayton and Marion Edens; one sister,
Elve Mae Adams; four nephews, James and George Stovall, Gary Edens and
Hubert Adams and two nieces, Edith Taylor and Regina Edens.

Mr. Edens is survived by four nieces, Carolyn Bobo of Tullahoma, Terrie
Bailey of Tullahoma, Sandra Sullins of Woodbury and Ann O’Neil of Moore
County; two nephews, Bobby Edens of Lewisburg and Hubert Wilson Edens of
Moore County; many great nieces and great nephews and special friend, David
Inocencio of Tullahoma.

5/7/17 — Obie Freeman

Obie Freeman passed away at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Mildred C. Freeman; daughter, Victoria M. Freeman; mother,
Belle McCullough Freeman; father Obie Freeman; brothers, Horace Freeman,
Homer Freeman, Shofner Freeman, John Freeman; sisters, Thelma Saine,
Marie Rice, Alma Getsay and Billie Sue Maxwell.
He is survived by his son, Obie Daniel Freeman; daughter, Teresa Freeman
Cravens; son-in-law, Kerry Mark Cravens, and two grandsons, Ephram Coble
McAlister; and Eric Freeman McAlister. He is also survived by numerous
nieces and nephews.
