6/22/17–Ronald Lee Kirk

RONALD LEE KIRK
(March 5, 1954 – May 7, 2017)

Ronald Lee Kirk was born March 5, 1954, to his parents, the late Bill and
Marletta Kirk. He departed this life May 7, 2017, surrounded by his
friends.
Ronald is survived by three daughters; Angie, Hollie, and Mistie, a
stepson; Zach Brown, a sister; Billie, a brother; Ricky, a nephew; John,
and Special Friend Terry Brown, as well as several other lifelong friends
and family members.
Ronald was a 1972 Graduate of Franklin County High School. Ronald was a
"happy go lucky" type of person. He never worried much about
worldly possessions or financial matters.
He worked as a bridge painter for many years and sometimes worked for the
County by assisting in their litter program.
In his teenage years, he loved Roller Skating, Fishing and 55 Chevrolets.
He had a special talent for tinkering with car radios.
In his later years, he enjoyed traveling, and spent a lot of time in Key
West Florida.

6/24/17 — Oliver “OB” Boyd Lee, Jr.

Oliver “OB” Boyd Lee Jr of Tullahoma passed this life on Monday, June 19,
2017 at his daughter’s home in Palm Coast, FL at the age of 80 years.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 AM at the
First Presbyterian Church of Tullahoma with burial to follow at Rose Hill
Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 23, 2017
from 5-8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A native of Athens, TN, he was the son of the late Oliver Boyd Lee Sr and
the late Ruby Bridges Lee. He was an electrical engineer and worked at
AEDC for many years. He was a very active member of the First Presbyterian
Church and enjoyed photography and working word puzzles. He and his late
wife, Virginia, were always together and people would recognize them “as
the man with his cowboy hat and the beautiful lady with the jet black
hair”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia
Blanks Lee who died in November of 2016.

Mr. Lee is survived by two daughters, Debbie Martin and her husband,
Ferrell of Palm Coast, FL and Tina Bonner and her husband, Michael of
Tullahoma; one brother, Anthony “Tony” Byrom Lee and his wife, Theresa of
Butler, TN; six grandchildren, Jimmy Hawkins and his wife, Leslie of
Maryville, TN, Natasha Martin of Murfreesboro, TN, Ross Bonner and his
wife, Julie of Boston, MA, Xenia Martin of Palm Coast, FL and Seth and
Rachel Bonner of Tullahoma and two great grandchildren, Addison and James
Hawkins.

Michael Ray Sherrill

Michael Ray Sherrill of Tullahoma passed this life on Tuesday, June 20,
2017 at his residence at the age of 63 years. No services are scheduled.

A native of Tullahoma he was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Ernest Sherrill.
He was a U S Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing, watching TV, playing with
remote control cars and being with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joshua
Sherrill and two brothers, David and Ralph Sherrill.

Mr. Sherrill is survived by one son, Michael Bates of Clarksville; two
daughters, Jennifer Zimecki and her husband, David of Tullahoma and Kristen
Bates Carpenter of Clarksville and six grandchildren.

Robert Vincent Pleasant

Mr. Robert Vincent Pleasant passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at St.
Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. No services are planned
at this time.

Robert was born in Savannah, GA, the son of the late Samuel and Ethel
Pleasant. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked in
the construction business as an ironworker for many years and retired
from Walmart, where he worked in the Garden Center. Robert was a member
of First Baptist Church in Manchester and enjoyed dancing at the VFW in
Tullahoma.

In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by seven
brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years,
Carole Pleasant; one daughter, Robin (Scot) Phillips of Missouri; three
grandchildren, Cody (Tabitha) Denton, Miranda (fiancé Derek Gamble)
Denton and Tyler Denton; and three great grandchildren, Cameron, Layne,
and Lily Denton.

Holly S. Fry

Holly S Fry of Tullahoma passed this life on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at St
Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro at the age of 43 years. No
services are scheduled.

A native of Liberty, Texas she was the daughter of Richard E and Wanda J.
Boatright Fry. She was a member of the New Creation Church and enjoyed
doing crafts, painting, knitting and writing. She loved her pet cat, Shaz.
She was a strong Christian woman who enjoyed helping people.

In addition to her parents, Richard and Wanda Fry of Tullahoma, she is
survived by her husband, Lawrence Legare of Tullahoma; one sister, Laura
Durbin and her husband, Matthew, of Brooklyn Park, MN and two nieces, Emily
Kirkland and her husband, John David of Tuscaloosa, AL and Loni Joy Watts
of Brooklyn Park, MN.

6/19/17–Franklin Duane Hammontree

Franklin Duane Hammontree, age 49 was born in Shreveport, LA to Franklin and Lottie Mae Hammontree and passed from this life in Manchester, TN on June 14, 2017. He was retired from Power Equipment Company in Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Ingram; parents, Franklin and Lottie Mae Hamontree; two sisters, Rela Hammontree and Cynthia McCoy; one brother, William Hammontree. Survived by his sisters, Loretta Vaughn and husband Grady of Sarepta, LA, Charlotte Bradley and husband Virgil of Emerson, AR; brother, Wallace Hammontree and wife Mary of Springhill, LA; sister-in-law, Pat HAmmontree of Shongaloo, LA; nieces and nephews, John, Tricia, Reed, Sonjia, Ben, Joy, Rachel, Rusty, Thomas and Jacobee.

No services will be held at this time.

Obituary for Oliver Frederick Cook
Oliver Frederick Cook, age 87 of Knoxville, TN, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a faithful member of West End Church of Christ where he served as an elder and teacher until he retired. Employed by the University of Tennessee Agriculture Extension Service from June 1955 to 1974 in Coffee County, and from 1974 to 1995 State 4-H Department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, he served in the US Army service from 1951 until January 1953. Oliver was born to George Oliver Cook and Lottie McFarlin Cook of Paint Rock, Alabama. He was a graduate of TPI and the University of Tennessee. Oliver is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Esther Johns Cook; son, Frederick Wayne (Joyce) Cook and grandson, Tyler Frederick Cook of Knoxville, TN; son Billy Don (Debbie) Cook of Tullahoma, TN, and a sister, Mary Harmon of Tullahoma, TN. Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017, Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Jeremy Weekley officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., CST Friday, June 16, at Oakwood Cemetery, Tullahoma, TN. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, preceding the service. 6/20/17—Jewell Ruth Parks Keele

Jewell Ruth Parks Keele, age 86, passed away June 17, 2017, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga with her family at her side. Jewell was born in Hillsboro, TN, September 22, 1930, to her parents, the late Horace Royden Parks and Maggie Sutton Thomas Parks. Jewell was married to the late Wilson Heisey Keele. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; Charles Parks, Grundy Parks, and Wayne Parks.

Jewell was a member of the Forest Mill Baptist Church. Before retiring Jewell worked as a Billing Clerk with Time DC Trucking, in Chattanooga. She will be fondly remembered as a lady that was very sociable, independent, who loved her family, her church, and her senior citizen family. Jewell was the happiest when she was with a group of people or visiting with friends and family. She enjoyed listening to country bands, watching her great-grandchildren play ball and attending yard sales. She especially looked forward to trips with her brother, sisters, and niece to visit family in Oklahoma, stopping at antique shops along the way.

She was a christian with deep faith who read her Bible daily. She set a good example for her family and a high standard. She was loved unconditionally by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Jewell is survived by three sons; Stanley W. Keele and his wife Kathy of Manchester, Joe M. Keele and his wife Charlotte of Hillsboro, Gary A. Keele and his wife Rhonda of Decatur, TN, seven grandchildren; Jeff Keele and his wife Beverly of Manchester, Jenn Nogodula and her husband Jay of Manchester, Julie Keele of Manchester, Wesley Keele and his wife Margaret of Knoxville, Maggie Millraney and her husband Michael of Hillsboro, Taylor Womack of Decatur, and Hunter Keele of Chattanooga, seven great-grandchildren; Jaydee and Jenslee Nogodula, Riley and Audrey Keele, Jackson and Ellie Keele, and Tayden Womack, two sisters; Helen P. Campbell and Elsie P. Dotson, one brother; Frank Parks and several friends.

6/23/17 — Darlene Walker

Darlene Walker, age 57, of Belvidere, Tenn. departed this life suddenly on Friday, June 16, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness. Miss. Walker was born in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Clyde Lucas and Helen Acklin Walker on May 16, 1960. She was a 1978 graduate of Huntland High School and received her B.S. degree at MTSU in 1983. She was employed for approximately 30 years with the State of Tennessee at the Franklin County Health Dept. last holding the position of public health office supervisor. She enjoyed fishing, watching movies and socializing with her friends.

Miss. Walker is survived by her Aunts; Jean Walker Stopher of Bluff City, Tenn., and Bettye Crowley of Atlantic Beach, Fla., A host of cousins to numerous to name. Life long friends; Denise Robertson and Becky Haston both of Belvidere and Sarah Simmons of Huntland.

Visitation is scheduled for 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday evening, June 22, 2017, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 23, 2017, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Pastor Chris Haynes and Pastor Kevin Simmons, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Ala. next to her beloved parents.

6/22/17 — Margareta Reed

Margareta Reed, (nee Large), of Hobart, IN, passed away June 13, 2017, at
the home of her loving daughter, Marisa, who cared for her the last two and
a half years. She was born February 17, 1928 in Mannheim Germany and she
came to the United States in 1949 as a World War II bride. Margareta lived
in Hammond, IN until her late husband, Lonnie C. Reed, retired from U.S.
Gypsum and then they relocated to Tullahoma, TN in 1988.

She belonged to a Tuesday Club with her good friends and she loved to share
her craft skills with family and friends.

Margareta was preceded in death by her parents-Franz and Maria (nee
Reisgel) Large; husband-Lonnie; brother-Walter Large; sisters-Elfriede
Walter and Ilse Ladner; daughters-Anita (Reed) Smith and Heidi (Reed)
Carroll.

She is survived by her daughter-Marisa (David) Kiel; seven
grandchildren-Deanna Smith, Aaron, Laura Carroll, Kattie (Scott) Kiel,
Ashley (Shane) Camp, David Jr., and Jerry Kiel; eight great
grandchildren-Alaina, Chloe Kiel, Mackenzie, Corey Garrison, Jayden, Grace,
Lenox Camp and Mia Kiel.

Visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from
5-8:00 p.m. at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial
will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the
Apostle Catholic Church, 304 West Grizzard Street, Tullahoma, TN. with
burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
