7/26/17—Ronald F Geer

Ronald F Geer of Tullahoma passed this life on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at
Tennova Healthcare – Harton at the age of 57 years. No services are
scheduled.

Mr. Geer was born on October 4, 1959 in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was a truck
driver who loved to dance, sing karaoke and listen to music. He also
enjoyed reading and surfing the internet.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Edwin Geer and one brother,
David Charles Geer.

Mr. Geer is survived by his mother, Betty Webster-Maddron and her husband,
Robert of Bloomingdale, MI; sons, Cory and Nicholas Geer of Nevada;
brothers, Ricky James Geer and his wife, Christine of Bloomingdale, MI and
Jerry Geer and his wife, Mary of Belmont, MI and sister, Mary Ruth Holt and
her husband, Ron of Gobles, MI.

7/24/17 — Mary Jane Hardaway

Services for Mary Jane Hardaway of Antioch, Tennessee, will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with Jim Bradford officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma.
Jane was born to Hubert and Kitty Ruth (Shelton) Hardaway on August 11, 1940.  She died at Antioch on July 21, 2017, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 10 days.  She attended Coffee County public schools, graduating from Central High School with the class of 1958.
Jane moved to Tullahoma in 1960 and eventually went to work at Peacock Jewelers.  This proved to be the beginning of a career in jewelry that lasted over 40 years in both Tullahoma and Antioch.  She retired from Carlyle and Company Jewelers in 2008.
Jane enjoyed reading, traveling, watching movies and TV, and corresponding with relatives and friends.  She sent cards for every occasion and she was a prolific and dedicated letter writer.  She also loved wearing rings and other jewelry items.  She was kind and generous and loved her family and friends dearly.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bruce Hardaway.  She is survived by her sister, Brenda Bradford of Brentwood, Tennessee, her brother, Roger Hardaway, of Alva and Enid, Oklahoma, brother-in-law Jim Bradford of Brentwood, and sisters-in-law Kathy Hardaway of Tullahoma and Sarah Hardaway of Enid, Oklahoma.  Other survivors include her nephew Nolan Hardaway of Tullahoma, and nieces Bridget Bradford Cobb (and husband Will Cobb) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Julie Bradford of Trinidad, California, Summer Hardaway of Tullahoma, and Alexis Owens and Haley Trybus of Enid, Oklahoma; her grand-nephew Mac Cobb and her grand-niece Catherine Cobb of Raleigh, North Carolina.

7/26/17 — Maggie Elizabeth Kennedy

Funeral services for Ms. Maggie Elizabeth Kennedy, age 92 years, 5 months and 22 days, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Manchester Funeral Home with Brother Thomas Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the Kennedy family will be held on Tuesday, July 25 from 4 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Ms. Kennedy passed away on July 21, 2017 at her residence.
Ms. Kennedy was the daughter of the late Thomas Clinton and Annie Pearl Brown Harrell. She was born on January 29, 1925 in Rutherford County, TN. She was a homemaker and a “jack of many trades”. She loved flowers, quilting, gardening, watching hummingbirds, and her treasured pets “Pretty Boy” her cat and “Trixie” her dog. She was a member of the Bible Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Kennedy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, George Wallace Kennedy; one son, Kenneth Wayne Kennedy; one grandson, Jamie Bishop; one brother, Leslie Bud Harrell; and two sisters, Louise Vandygriff and Della Cooper. She is survived by her two sons, Ivan Dale Kennedy of CA and Ray Randall (Carol) Kennedy of Manchester; four daughters, Barbara Ann (Michael) Campbell of Gallatin, Donella Grantham (Friend Jim Burhance) of FL, Patsy Ruth (David) Fortner of AL, and Evelyn Leona (Thomas) Paitko of Christiana; four brothers, T.C. Harrell, Dick (Helen) Harrell, Charlie (Minnie) Harrell, Clifton Harrell, and John Harrell; one sister, Lorene Rackley; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a “special son and daughter-in-law”, Bill and Fay Bishop.

7/22/17–Willis Leroy Clark

Willis Leroy Clark, a longtime resident of Manchester passed peacefully to the other side of life on July 16 at the Alvin C York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro Tennessee. He was 84 years old. Willis was Vanderbilt University Hospital’s 50th heart transplant patient and celebrated the 28th anniversary of his transplant on July 14. Born Aug. 3, 1932 in Three Sands, Okla., he graduated high school in Braman, Okla. and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on Kwajalein Island in the South Pacific. Upon completion of his military service, he attended and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. From 1963 through 1965 he worked for NASA in Houston where he was selected for, and successfully completed, NASA’s Astronaut Training Program. Though never selected for service in that capacity, he fondly remembered it as one of his proudest accomplishments. The remainder of his career was spent at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex which helped develop most of the U.S. government’s aerospace systems including the Space Shuttle, Space Station, Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo projects. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy L Clark and is survived by his sons, Douglas L (Becky) Clark, Gregory A (Marie) Clark, Bradford L (Chellie) Clark; his daughter, Terri L Smith; his friend and caregiver, Zetta Blay, six grandchildren, Sean A (Carrie) Clark, Douglas A Clark, Kristin L (Chad) Clark, William P (Allison) Lancaster, Leigh E (Frank) Terrell, Joshua W Lancaster; 10 great-grandchildren, Kristen Clark, Andrew Clark, Emma Clark, Claire Clark, Faith Clark, William T Lancaster, Genevieve M Lancaster, Frank G Terrell, IV, Conrad M Lancaster, Murray M Terrell, his brother Wesley Clark; his sisters Juanita Moreland, Janice Musselman, Roberta Carpenter; his brother-in-law Robert Bumgardner, his sisters-in-law, Susie (Ken) Shodde, Clarice March; 29 nephews and nieces; uncountable friends. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 22 at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Randy Brown presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church. Jerry C. Crynes

Jerry C Crynes of Manchester passed this life on Wednesday, July 19, 2017
at Tennova Healthcare – Harton at the age of 65 years. No services are
scheduled.

Mr. Crynes, the son of the late Wilbur and Dorothy Gloy Crynes was born in
Indiana on March 17, 1952. He was a truck driver who enjoyed fishing and
working on automobiles. He also enjoyed racing stock cars.

Mr. Crynes is survived by one daughter, Christin Galyen; life partner,
Laurie Noel Crynes; brothers, Danny, Alan and Ron Crynes; five sisters,
Kathy Abram, Bonnie Rogers, Penny Perez, Charlotte Stricklend and Debbie
Sanders and two grandchildren, Lilly and Frank Perry.

7/22/17 — R.B. Bewley

Reverend R. B. Bewley of Tullahoma passed this life on Wednesday, July
19, 2017 at NHC Healthcare at the age of 87. Rev. Bewley was born in
Lynch, KY to the late Ralph Daniel and Lona Creech Bewley. Rev. Bewley
began preaching at the age of 14, and continued to do so throughout his
entire life. He preached for many years at the Vine Street Church of God
in Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one
sister, Louise Walker; and one brother R. C. Lipton. Rev. Bewley is
survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Lorene Bewley of Tullahoma; one
daughter, Mary Frances Grogan of Tullahoma; three sons, Richard Bewley
and his wife Tina of Tullahoma, Ken Bewley and his wife Judy of
Elizabethton, TN, and Darrell Bewley and his wife Phyllis of Chattanooga,
TN; four brothers, Bob, Jackie, Don, and J.R. Bewley; two sisters, Betty
Jones, and Patsy Walker; nine grandchildren, Steven, Jamie, Chris, Dusty,
Jacob, Jody, Missy, Brandon, and Stacy; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Rev. Bewley held on Friday, July 21st, 2017 at Kilgore
Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral Services took place Saturday,
July 22nd at 1:00pm at the Vine Street Church of God in Tullahoma with
Bishop Mitchell Corder, Rev. Roland Sharp, and Rev. Jody Bewley
officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

7/22/17–Arthur Joseph Mantone, Jr.

Arthur Joseph Mantone, Jr. age 78, passed away July 17, 2017, at his
residence in Hillsboro. Mr. Mantone was born in Ellenville, New York, to
his parents, Arthur Mantone Sr. and the late Lillian Marie Jacobsen
Mantone. Arthur worked at the Arnold Engineering Research Center as an
Aeronautical Engineer before retirement. After retiring, he enjoyed
having extra time to spend with his friends and especially his loving
family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela S. Mantone of
Hillsboro, TN, his father; Arthur Mantone; of Ellenville, New York, six
children; Gayle J. Doss and her husband Steve of St. Louis, MO, Arthur J.
Mantone III and his wife Beth of Aiken, SC, Anthony J. Mantone and his
wife Karen of Middleburg, FL, Anjanette L. West and her husband David of
Manchester, TN, LaDonna A. Howard and her husband Allen of New Ipswich,
NH, Angelina M. Moore and her husband Chris Elkmont, Al, 12
grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several friends.

7/22/17–Vinita Pearl Crosslin Shavers

Vinita Pearl Crosslin Shavers, age 86, passed away July 18, 2017, at the Horizon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Manchester, TN with several loving family members at her bedside. Ms. Vinita was born January 16, 1931, to her parents, the late Aubrey Newton Crosslin and Addie Harmon Crosslin. Ms. Vinita was Church of Christ. She was a Nurses Aid and a longtime caregiver for her deceased husband, Silas Shavers. She also held a Cosmotology License. Ms. Vinita enjoyed being with family, family reunions, family ancestry, quilting, and working in her flower beds.

Ms. Vinita was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter; Cathy Elaine Cunningham, a husband; Silas Shavers, four brothers; Roy Crosslin, Hillery Crosslin, Joe Crosslin, and E.C. Crosslin, two sisters; Lossie Irene Crosslin, and Blanche Crosslin Gregory. Mrs. Shavers is survived by one brother; Grover Thomas Crosslin and his wife Linda of Manchester, TN, and a sister; Oleta Ruth Crawley of Lexington, Ky., Two sister-in-laws; Jean Baker Crosslin and Bobbie Jean Ferrell Crosslin, and several nieces and nephews.

7/24/17 — Steven Eric Trapp

Steven Eric Trapp of Tullahoma passed this life on Tuesday, July 18, 2017
at The Willows of Winchester at the age of 54 years. Graveside Services
are scheduled for 2 PM Eastern Time on Monday, July 24 at the Chattanooga
National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

Mr. Trapp was the son of the late Peter Hans Trapp and Margarete Schwarz
Trapp of FL, who survives. He was born on October 19, 1962 in Freeport, NY.
He was a U S Air Force veteran and was a police officer for many years. He
served as a Detective, Sergeant, Field Trainer and K-9 officer with the
Indian River County Sheriff’s Department in Florida and was a Customs
Officer in El Paso, TX. He also served with the Bedford County Sherriff’s
Dept. and worked for the Bedford County Emergency Management Agency. He
attended Gateway Church in Shelbyville. He enjoyed photography, canoeing,
woodworking and target shooting. He was an accomplished marksman and
earned several marksmanship awards. He loved dogs and enjoyed training
them.

Mr. Trapp was preceded in death by his father, Peter Hans Trapp and one
brother, Peter H Trapp.

In addition to his mother, Margarete Trapp of FL, he is survived by his
wife, Joanne Trapp of Tullahoma; one son, Christopher Trapp of Atlanta; one
daughter, Katybeth Trap Tabas and her husband, Justin of Cincinnati, OH;
eight step-children, Nicholas Calderwood and his wife, Adrienne, Lauren
Fenty and her husband, Brandon, Taylor, Franklin, Olivia, Adrienne, Lydia
and Lilienne Calderwood and one grandchild, Kristian Calderwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in
his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, P O Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas
66675-8517.

Robert T. Overman, Sr.

Robert T Overman Sr of Normandy passed this life on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at his residence at the age of 82 years. No services are scheduled.

Mr. Overman, the son of the late Alvin Addison and Edith Ethel McPherson Overman, was born in Tullahoma on May 25, 1935. He was a U S Air Force veteran and had worked for many years at George Dickel Distillery. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, bird watching and hunting for ginseng. He also loved his dog, Sandy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Overman and one sister, Evelyn Rackler.
Mr. Overman is survived by five sons, Geoffrey Overman and his fiancé, Teri Adams of Normandy, Robert T Overman Jr of Manchester, Joseph Overman of Manchester, Anthony Donald Overman and his wife, Beth of Cannon County and Alvin Avery Overman Manchester; one daughter, Natalie Overman Brown and her husband, Brian of Hillsboro; two sisters, Janice Diehl and Doris Brown, both of Tullahoma and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
