9/29/17 — Ellis Lavon Vincent

Funeral services for Mr. Ellis Lavon Vincent, age 86, of Manchester, TN,
will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Manchester
Funeral Home with Brother James Tate officiating. Burial will follow in
Asbury Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, September
28, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Vincent passed
away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at St. Thomas – Rutherford in
Murfreesboro, TN.

Ellis was born in Cullman, AL, the son of the late William and Bertha
Vincent. He was a carpenter and a jack of all trades. Mr. Vincent was a
spiritual man, and was very loving and outgoing. He loved to joke and
laugh, coach little league baseball, play softball, and be outdoors hunting
or fishing. Ellis was a very loving and caring husband, father,
grandfather, and friend to many.

In addition to his parents, Ellis was also preceded in death by one
brother, Garland Vincent; two sisters, Hazel Dotson and Mary Sue Vincent;
one grandson, Andrew Boswell; and one great-grandson, Tyler Parson. He is
survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Margaret Vincent; two sons, Randy
Vincent and Kevin (Cortney) Meadows; three daughters, Diane (Danny)
Boswell, Denise (Wayne) Allen, and Donna Vincent; nine grandchildren, Alisa
Boswell McBee, Jennifer Brandon, Chris Parton, Brandi Vincent, Bubba
Vincent, Jamie Tate, Jodie Parson, Anna Meadows, and Izzy Meadows; twelve
great-grandchildren, Aubrey O’Kelley, Kylie Vincent, Matthew Parson,
Michael Tate, Jada Tate, Janna Tate, John Malachi Tate, Austin Overman,
Kerra Overman, Zach Parton, Haley Parton, and Andie Jane McBee.

Kevin Anthony Bitto

Mr. Kevin Anthony Bitto passed away at Waters of Winchester on September 26, 2017 at the age of 62.
Mr. Bitto was born in Ft. Riley, Kansas on March 18, 1955 to the late Herman Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Armstrong Bitto.
He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force and loved to play golf.
Mr. Bitto is survived by brothers Joseph Bitto and his wife Sara of Penbroke Pines, Florida and Brian Bitto and his wife Queenie of Pearl City, Hawaii. Also surviving is his sister Shelia Clark and her husband Robert of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
Service are not scheduled for this time.

9/29/17–Frank A. Greene III

Frank A. Greene III of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, September 25,
2017 at the age of 63 years. Graveside services are scheduled for Friday,
September 29, 2017 at 11 AM at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

A native of Memphis, TN, he was the son of the late Frank “Buddy” Austin
Greene Jr. and the late Hazel Corinne Dance Greene. He was a U S Army
veteran and served at Ft Riley in Kansas as a military policeman and game
warden. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Cedar Lane. He loved
working in his yard and was a “Jack of all trades”. He enjoyed
photography,
fishing, riding motorcycles and going to the beach.

Mr. Greene is survived by son, Jason Greene and his wife, Melissa of
Nashville; daughter, Jordan Garner and her husband, Donald of Smyrna;
step-daughter, Trudy Kendrick and her husband, Norman of Cartersville, GA;
brothers, Richard Short and his wife, Lisa of Eads, TN and Anthony Short
and his wife, Tanya Beth of Olive Branch, MS; sisters, Norma Tinsley and
her husband, Tim of Burlison, TX and Barbara Douglas and her husband, Ron
of Norfolk, CA and grandchildren, Olivia and Trey Greene, Jared and Jude
Garner and Assata and Bryana Christman.

9/27/17–Mr. Riley Medford

Mr. Riley Medford, “Sweetie” as his loving wife called him, passed away at his residence in Manchester, Tennessee on September 23, 2017 at the age of 72.
He was born on May 19, 1945 in McMinnville, Tennessee to the late Mephibosheth and Justine Sanders Medford. He was also preceded in death by brothers Edsel, Carl, Neil, John Dale and Harley Wade Medford.
He was an active member of the Manchester First Baptist Church. He was also a member of Manchester Lions Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved the game of golf, farming and motorcycle riding, but most of all he loved children, helping others and spending time with family and friends.
An Air Force veteran, he retired from Batesville Casket Company as a cross country truck driver.
He is survived to his wife Delores and one sister Annis Joy Gentry. Also surviving are several other family members and friends whom Riley loved dearly.
A funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Manchester at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Dr. Brenton Cox will officiate. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County, Tennessee.

9/25/17–Jim Lilienthal

Jim Lilienthal passed away September 21, 2017, at his residence in
Hillsboro. Jim was born August 12, 1960, in Phoenix, Arizona, to his
parents, the late Billy Roy Lilienthal and Valeria Sharpp Lilienthal. Before
retirement, Jim was an Autobody Painter. Jim was a special man that loved
his grandchildren and loved to be called “Jimpa.” He was a man that would
give his last dime to help a fellow man. He will be missed by all that knew
and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Liz Lilienthal of Hillsboro, TN, a son, Josh
Schuster and his wife Kim of Hillsboro, TN, one brother, Doug Lilienthal and
his wife Becky of Manchester, TN, two grandchildren, Emily Schuster of
Hillsboro, TN, and A.J. Schuster of Hillsboro, TN

9/26/17 — Geneva Grimes Tillman

Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Grimes Tillman, age 89 of Manchester, will be conducted on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Benny Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow in Thyatira Cemetery in Cannon County. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Tillman passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at McArthur Manor Assisted Living.

Mrs. Tillman was born on February 24, 1928 in Cannon County to the late Blackburn Grimes and Mattie Holt Reed. She was a member of Ragsdale Church of Christ and was a volunteer at Main Street Church of Christ where she enjoyed participating in grading papers for the Bible Correspondence. Geneva loved spending time with her family and friends, reading the bible and drawing.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Elam Reed; and her husband, Jesse Tillman. Survived by her son, Mike (Nancy) Tillman; daughter, Sonia (Ronnie) Gault; grandchildren, Allison (Daryl) Collins, Lauren Tillman, Justin Gault; step grandchildren, Lee (Terri) Gault, Ryan Gault; great-grandson, Hayden Garr; 7 step great-grandchildren.

Shea Lynn Tucker

Shea Lynn Tucker of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, September 21,
2017 at her residence at the age of 44 years. No local services are
scheduled.

Shea, a native of Terre Haute, IN, was born on January 25, 1973. She
enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the movies, boating,
shopping and visiting the Smoky Mountains.

She was preceded in death by brother, David Williams II.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Connie and Bill Morris of
Tullahoma; step-father, David Williams of Tamaroa, IL, fiancé’. Nick
Jelley
of Tullahoma; brother, Chad McCammon of Roseville, IL and best friend,
Janet Finks-Stein of Sparta, IL.

“Shea had filled our lives with love, comfort and joy. Gifts that will
never be lost… Her warmth protects us from a world that can be too cold.
Her
strength lifts us up when we are down. Despite losing the best part of it,

9/22/17-Jessie Ann Murchison

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Ann Murchison will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017, at 3 PM at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester City Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1 PM until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Jessie passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Jessie was born on November 18, 1947 in Manchester, to the late Raleigh H. and Mary Ann Carnahan Qualls. She was a retired factory leader from DESA in Manchester. She loved reading, especially books by Stephen King and James Patterson, cooking and being with her family.

Mrs. Jessie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Nelson Murchison; three sons, Eric Keith of Manchester, Luke (Jaime) Keith of FL, and Tony Murchison (Jim Clement) of Knoxville; four daughters, Eva (Larry) Redden of Wartrace, Judi (Brian “BB”) Brown, DeDe (Bobby) Smith, and Ruth (Brandon) Henley, all of Manchester; grandchildren, Elora, Donna, Vaughn, Rylie, Zachary, Devaney, Brian, Jennifer, Brandon, Tyler, Kirsten, Blanton, Sara, Lauren, Kurt, Josh, Dakota, Dallas, Peyton, Jaidyn, and Mason; and several great grandchildren.

9/21/17 — John Williams Barnes, Sr.

Funeral services for John William Barnes, Sr., age 87, of Hillsboro, TN, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Finney and Kyle Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Barnes passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, TN.

John was born in Decherd, TN, the son of the late Roy and Sarah Barnes. He was a carpenter and adored his dog, Penny. John enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, and was a very loving father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Roy Barnes, Jr., Bill Barnes, and Jess Lee Barnes. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Clara; two sons, John (Cathy) Barnes and Jeff (Doreen) Barnes; two daughters, Jean (Paul) Wildman and Joann (Greg) Boyd; three brothers, Frank, Joe Ed, and Doc Barnes; one sister, Alva Johnson; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Chad) Lorance, Sherry (Shane) Toney, Michelle (Daniel) Wilson, Katy (Keith) Reese, Laura Barnes, Robby (Alyse) Clark, Josh (Lishia) Barnes, and Brad (Megan) Barnes; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth Eloise Yarber Mahler

Ruth Eloise Yarber Mahler passed from this life on Saturday, September 16,
2017. A loving wife, mother, and friend to many, she is predeceased by her
parents, Grover and Edna Yarber of Acton, Indiana; sisters Betty, Melba,
and Harriette, brother Ray; and her loving and devoted husband of 44 years,
George. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Iris Mahler in Acton,
Indiana and Rosie Yarber in Indianapolis, IN; son Robert and wife Sharon of
Murfreesboro, TN; son Kenny and wife Karen of Birmingham AL; and
grandchildren Andrew Mahler and wife Anne Garland Mahler of Charlottesville
VA; Brandon Mahler of Murfreesboro, TN; and Sam Mahler of Washington, DC.

Ruth was born April 21, 1926 near Indianapolis, Indiana and lived in the
area until 1957 when she and her family moved to Manchester. During the
war, she worked in the defense industry in and around Indianapolis where
she met her future husband George, serving in the military at that time.
They
were married in 1946 in Indianapolis. After moving to Manchester, Ruth was
active in her church, First Methodist Church of Manchester, and in local
activities, including the Manchester Garden Club, the PTA, and other local
organizations. For many years, she was a constant and devoted caregiver to
her husband following his disability and retirement. She worked tirelessly
in caring for him until his death in 1990. More recently, she had been a
resident of Brookdale Assisted Living in Tullahoma. Ruth will be fondly
remembered as one who loved to be with people, cook and sew for family and
friends, involved in her church, enjoyed boating and picnicking at the lake
with her family, and visiting with her family in Indiana.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers and friends at Brookdale and
Hospice Compassus for their loving care for her in her last years. Ruth
will be interred at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens following a private
family service. Those wishing to send cards or flowers should contact the
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home, or gifts may be offered in her name to the
First Methodist Church of Manchester.
