6/13/18–Betty Frances Martin

Ms. Betty Frances Martin

Funeral services for Ms. Betty Frances Martin, age 83, of Manchester and formerly of Woodbury, will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with David Lance officiating.  Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 12, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Ms. Martin passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Woodbury Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Betty was born on July 4, 1934, to the late Charles and Bonnie Locke. She was retired from Carrier Corporation. Betty loved all flowers, watching birds, crocheting and was an amazing cook.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Martin; daughter, Faye Cantrell; one grandchild. Survived by her daughters, Debbie Nunley of Memphis, Judy Markawitze of Alabama, Nancy Melton of McMinnville, Tracy Blackburn (Ronnie) of Manchester; brother, James “Jim” Locke; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

6/13/18–DAYTHENE HATCHETT MORRIS

DAYTHENE HATCHETT MORRIS, age 84, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at STRHS Winchester, following an extended illness. Mrs. Morris was born in Lynchburg, Tenn., on June 2, 1934, to the late William Zeron Hatchett and Bessie Jane Roark Hatchett. She attended the Marble Plains Baptist Church. She was a retired school bus driver for the Franklin County Board of Education. Mrs. Morris was an avid Vanderbilt University football fan. She loved to make people laugh and was known to play pranks on a lot of her friends. She loved working in her garden and her flowers. She was lovingly called “granny” by many of her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her only child, Bing Morris in October of 2017. She is survived by her husband, Bud Morris of Winchester, grandson, Brent Morris and wife, Paula of Winchester, great-grandchildren; Erin, Hayden and Emma Morris, step-great-grandsons; Levi Amrine and David Mangus, niece, Gail Hall of Tullahoma, nephew, Ronnie Hatchett, great-niece Rhonda Barnett both of the Flat Creek Community, special companion, her sheltie, Mickey Murdock.

Visitation for Mrs. Morris will be held from 4:00 – 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 12, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Rudy Wilkerson and Bro. Jimmy Kesey, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.

Jessie Duke

Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Lee Duke, age 78, of Murfreesboro, will be conducted on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Manchester Funeral Home with Brother David Walls officiating. Burial will follow in Gilley Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 9:00 AM until service time. Mr. Duke passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN.

Jessie was born on October 9, 1939 in Coffee County, TN to the late Alton and Janie Duke. Jessie worked for Electrolux, after retiring he owned and operated The Vac Shack for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, watching racing, socializing, and absolutely loved helping others.

In addition to his parents, Jessie is preceded in death by five brothers, Claiborne Duke, Cleve Duke, Clifford Duke, Howard Duke, Robbie Duke; four sisters, Thelma Farless, Bernice Frazier, Azzie Mae Thompson, and Deen Theele. Jessie is survived by one son, Randy Duke (Gayle Averitte); one daughter, Lisa Duke Crowell (Jeff); three grandchildren, Kenny Allen (Crystal), Kevin Allen (Marla), Morgan Binhammer (Martin); seven great grandchildren, Kloey, Colby, Malayna, Cameron, Charlotte, Shelby, and William.

6/10/18 — Ethel Cleo Shores

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Cleo Shores, age 93, of Manchester, TN,
will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Manchester
Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on
Saturday, June 9 at the funeral home. Mrs. Shores passed away at her
residence on Thursday, June 7, 2018.

Ethel was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Thomas and
Ola James Crosslin. She was a homemaker and was employed by Genesco for
41 years, as well as an Avon distributor for 35-40 years. Ethel enjoyed
going to yard sales and to the mountains. She loved going on vacation
with her family and was always ready to go. She was a member of Forest
Mill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was also preceded in death by her
husband, Wilburn Shores; five brothers, Austin, Raymond, Cleve, Hollis,
and Sanford Crosslin; two sisters, Bertha Lynn and Pervie Vickers. She
is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Dan) Darden; and several nieces and
nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice
Compassus, Trinity Baptist Church, or Forest Mill Baptist Church.

Ross Sherman Zimmerman, 70
Ross passed away Tuesday April 24, at his home in McMinnville with his
wife at this bedside. His family will be having a celebration of his life
on his birthday, June 9th, at 5pm, with a reception to follow. Visitation

Howard Lebron Jones

Howard Lebron Jones, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, June 7,
2018 at his residence at the age of 73 years. No services are scheduled.

Mr. Jones enjoyed going fishing in his boat on the lake, gardening and
building things. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Disch; a
daughter, Tammy Louise Jones; brother, Horace Leighton Jones and sister,
Joyce Anderson.

He is survived by son, Tony Jones and his fiancé, Elaine McGuire of
Tullahoma; daughter, Candice Smith of Tullahoma; granddaughter, Shannon
Jones and one great grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. Arnold “Art” Anderton, age 76, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 27th, 2019 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Benny Benjamin and Jerry Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Anderton passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester, TN.
Art was born on September 6th, 1943, in Tullahoma, TN, to the late Ray Anderton and Laura Farrar Payne. Art was a veteran of the United Sates Army, he enjoyed sports, especially the University of Tennessee, and the Tennessee Titans. He enjoyed going to auctions and tinkering on things. He worked for many years in Mt. Juliet for Water Management.
In addition to his parents, Art is preceded in death by two brothers Everett and Virgil Mullins. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Georgia Anderton; two sons Travis (Kristy) Anderton and Eric (Emily) Anderton; daughter Melissa (Jason) Sudberry; grand children Katie, Clay, Kaden, Dominik, Robin, Brett and Denton; great grand children Xaylie, Lizzie and Zoey; brother Red (Bonnie) Anderton

Delbert Wayne Johnson

Delbert Wayne Johnson, of Tracy City, passed this life on Monday, June 4,
2018 at The Waters of Winchester at the age of 64 years. Memorial Services
will be held at a later date.

A native of Altamont, he was the son of the late Leon and Sarah Nunley
Johnson. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting old knives and working on
vehicles. Delbert never met a stranger and had many friends. His favorite
thing to do was to call GCTV, the local radio and TV Station in Tracy City,
every morning and report any news and tell stories about his family and
friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by brother,
Jerry Johnson and sister, Linda Johnson. He is survived by two sisters,
Brenda Nunley Griffin of Whitwell and Carolyn Byers and her husband, Terry
of Tracy City; three nephews, Joshua Nunley of Nashville, Nickolas Byers of
Tracy City and Jeremy Johnson of Obion, TN and five nieces, Amanda Nunley
of Ocala, FL, Daphne Whitehead and her husband, Jamie of Obion, TN,
Michelle Blakely of Alto, Dana Youngblood and her husband, Harold of Obion,
TN and Brandy Meeks and her husband, Kelly of Monteagle.

Donald Alvin Wolff

DONALD ALVIN WOLFF, age 69, of Manchester, Tenn., departed this life on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Mr. Wolff was born in Nashville, Tenn., to the late Alvin Harry Wolff and Edna Adele Rose Wolff, on June 3, 1948. Mr. Wolff was employed for many years in Nashville as a maintenance supervisor with rental properties before becoming disabled. Mr. Wolff’s favorite hobbies were Hunting and fishing. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Wolff of Manchester, sister, Shirley Williams of Nashville, sons; Michael Kleiner of Tullahoma and Justin Elliott of Manchester.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

6/4/18–Ralph Ramsey Green, Sr.

Ralph Ramsey Green, Sr., age 83, of Manchester, TN, passed away on
Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Manchester Healthcare. No services are
scheduled at this time.

Ramsey was born in Rutherford County, TN, the son of the late J.F. and
Ora Birdie Stacey Green. He served his country in the United States
Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was an electrician at AEDC.
Ramsey enjoyed hunting and loved to laugh and joke.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was also preceded in death by his
wife, Hazel Thomas Green. He is survived by one son, Ralph Green, Jr.;
one daughter, Patty Ann (Terry Eckardt) Green; and one brother, Marlin
(Nedra) Green.

The family would like to thank Manchester Healthcare and their staff for
their wonderful care of Mr. Green, especially Susan Davis and Dr. Yang.
