8/1/18 — Ezra Lee Sissom

Funeral services for Ezra Lee Sissom, age 60, of Manchester, will be conducted on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother James Caudill and Brother Joe Sissom officiating. Burial will follow in Gnat Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 prior to the service from 11:00 P.M. until 1:00 PM.

Ezra passed away from this world on Monday July 30, 2018 surrounded by his wife and two daughters. Ezra was born in Ohio to the late Edgar Lee Sissom and Dora Lee Purdue Sissom. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked at M-Tek for 20 years and was employed by Morrison Industry. Ezra enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, working on his vehicles, shooting in the woods, watching the western channel with his wife, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Brenda Messick Sissom, his two daughters April Sissom (Israel) of Beech Grove and Chandra Sissom of Manchester, mother-in-law Mary Lee Messick, four grandchildren Alyssa Santana, Alayna Sissom, Zachary Fletcher, and Nataliz Sissom, one brother Joel (Jessica) Sissom, and two sisters Rachel Sissom, Andrea Sissom (Trudy) all of Cannon County. In addition to his parents, Ezra was preceded in death by granddaughter Cherokee Alexis Sissom, and one sister Gerenda Sissom. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donation to be made in Ezra’s name to the cancer society.

8/5/18 — Charlene G. Dean

Charlene G. Dean, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at her
residence at the age of 82 years. Memorial services are scheduled for
Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 2:30 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home with burial to
follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at
1 PM.

A native of Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ola
Flippo Golden. Mrs. Dean was a teacher in the Lynchburg school system for
32 years. She loved teaching. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist
Church where she enjoyed playing the piano for services. Mrs. Dean also
enjoyed reading and was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Eastern
Star and Phi Beta Kappa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bobbie
Jane Adams. Mrs. Dean is survived by son, Charles Edward Dean and his
wife, Deborah of Lynchburg; daughters, Rebecca Murray and her husband, Zach
of Lynchburg and Susanne Smith of Lynchburg; cousin, Jackie Holt and her
husband, Robert of Tullahoma; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren
and three great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her honor
to the Lynchburg Elementary School Library.

7/30/18 — Ina Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bush

Funeral services for Ina Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bush, age 102, being four days shy of 103, of the Pocahontas community, will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Dale Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday prior to the service from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Mrs. Bush passed away on July 28, 2018 at NHC in Murfreesboro.
Lizzie was born on August 1, 1915 in Coffee County to the late John William and Vester Young and was a lifelong member of the Pocahontas church of Christ. In former years, she worked as a seamstress for Eden Industries and PCA. Lizzie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Frank Bush; brothers, J.C. Young and Paul Young. Survived by her daughters, Charlotte Markum (Lanny) and Becky Davenport (Mark); grandchildren, Staci Williams (Jerry), Beth Buckner (Craig), Shannon Wright (Jeff); great-grandchildren, Blake Williams, Peyton Buckner, Abby Buckner, Ethan Wright, Evan Wright; honorary son, Glendon Cantrell.

Heidi Dora Williams

Heidi Dora Williams of Fayetteville, passed this life on Friday, July 27,
2018 at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg, at the age of 46. A
graveside memorial service will be scheduled at a later time in
Fayetteville.

Heidi was employed by Drive Line Retail and enjoyed reading, listening to
music and watching movies. She is survived by her husband, David Williams
of Fayetteville; mother, Wanda Sisk of Flintville; sons, John Williams and
his fiancé, Sandra Steiner of Hazel Green, AL and Brad Williams of
Flintville; brothers, Troy Logan and his wife, Debbie of Flintville and
Mike Logan and his wife, Thelesa of Fayetteville and two grandchildren,
Anne and Cas Peterson.

8/1/18 — Paul Liles Hodges

A Visitation for Paul Liles Hodges, age 59, of Soddy Daisy, TN, will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Hodges passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hospice of Chattanooga in Chattanooga, TN.
Paul was born in Overton County, TN, the son of the late Arlice Houston and Betty Hodges. He was a member of The Fellowship of Friends of Bill W for 33 years. Paul’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time in the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by one brother, Larry Hodges (Darlene); one sister, Nancy Blair; one niece, Heather Blair; three nephews, H. Curtis Blair V (Leslie), David Hodges (Charity), and Michael Hodges (Lindsay). Paul is preceded in death by his parents Arlice Houston and Betty Hodges.

Funeral Services for Harold Burdette Irish, age 90, of Manchester, TN, will be held Monday, July 30, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in The Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Irish passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Unity Medical Center in Manchester, TN.
Harold was born on March 9, 1928, to the late Burton and Lucricia Irish. He was a member of The Church of God in Manchester. Harold retired from Chrysler where he was a Machine Operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and baseball.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Goldia Irish; two brothers, Leroy Irish and Donnie Irish; four sisters, Betty Bowns, Mary Dalton, Dorothy Lund, Ruby Kitsemble. He is survived by two sons, Mark Irish and Billie Winton; four grandchildren, Holly Irish, Adam Irish, Michael Irish, Marisa Irish; five great grandchildren, Jeremy Irish, Layla Irish, Amelia Manning, Spencer Irish, and one on the way; two very special friends, Rebecca Lopez, Beada Tenpenny.

7/30/18 — Vanessa Dale Dodson

Vanessa Dale Dodson of Tullahoma, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at
her residence at the age of 64 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11
AM, Monday, July 30, 2018 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to
follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday,
July 29, 2018 from 5 – 8 PM.

Mrs. Dodson, a native of Manchester was the daughter of the late Louie
Whipple and the late Annie B Reese. She was a member of the First Church of
Jesus Christ in Tullahoma. She enjoyed fishing and gardening. Mrs. Dodson
was a jokester and loved to play pranks on her family and friends. She
loved animals, especially her black Chihuahua, Capone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Glen
Watson; step-father, Lee Reese; and brother, Tony Ricco.

Mrs. Dodson is survived by son, Bobby Lee Watson and his wife, Angelia of
Tullahoma; sisters, Merida “Susie” Wilcox of Tullahoma, Rosie Nunley of
Tullahoma and Pamela Sue Speegle of California; brother, Louis Ricco of
Tullahoma; best friend and nephew, James Wimley of Tullahoma; ex
daughter-in-law, Kelly Anderson of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Jessica
Leigh Watson of Tullahoma, Brennon Kody Watson of Manchester, Cassandra
Hope Walton and Madison Faith Walton, both of Tullahoma, Dylan Cole Morris
of Tullahoma and Haley Diane Watson and Brianna Belle Watson, both of
Tullahoma; great grandchildren, Jaxon Ray and Jaycob Lee Watson and several
nieces, nephews and cousins.

7/27/18 — Kristi Wynnette Yates

Kristi Wynnette Yates, 48, of Manchester, Tennessee died Tuesday, July 24,
2018 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She graduated from college with
a business degree and was employed as an Accounting Clerk at Trades
Envelope and Wisco Envelope in Tullahoma and attended Asbury Methodist
Church. She loved her family, her animals, collecting Native American art,
and the ocean. She will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Kristi is preceded in death by her father Jesse Wayne Yates. She is
survived by her mother Betty Jean Winn Yates; sisters Yvette Yates Lowe
(Nicky) of Hillsboro and Lucrieta Antoinette of Alabama; nieces Lindsey
Grider Jarvis and Kelly Grider; nephews Josh Yates and Jeremy Hershman.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 at 4:00 PM at
Central Funeral Home in Manchester with Reverend Ben Eschenfelder
officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow the service.

7/27/18 — Vernon Helmer Arends

Vernon Helmer Arends age 90 passed this life on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at
his residence in Manchester. Funeral services will be conducted Friday
afternoon, July 27, 2018 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at the National Cemetery in
Chattanooga, Tennessee.

A native of Aplington, Iowa, Mr. Arends was the son of the late Helmer S.
Arends and the late Leta Meyers Arends. He is also preceded in death by his
sister, Elizabeth Abbas and step-son, Marc Perkis. Mr. Arends served in
the U.S. Navy and he worked as a janitor and truck driver. He loved going
to church and reading his Bible, reading the newspaper and watching Wheel
of Fortune on TV. He was a member of the Open Bible Church in Iowa and
locally attended both Cornerstone Church and Canvas Community Church.

Mr. Arends is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra Elkins Arends; son,
Bruce Arends and his wife, Jessica of Shelbyville; daughters, Diana Arends
and fiancé Eugene of Hampton, Iowa, Leta Dohlman and husband, Tom of
Ackley, Iowa; stepdaughters, Robin Way of Spokane, Washington and Lynn
Koontz of Pennsylvania; one brother, Bernie Arends and his wife, Joyce of
Waterloo, Iowa and 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

7/28/18 — Pearline Richards

Pearline Richards of Normandy, passed away of Thursday, July 26, 2018 at
her residence at the age of 98 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1
PM, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to
follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM
to 1 PM.

Mrs. Richards, a native of Tullahoma, was the daughter of the late George
Tatum and Kate Evans Richards. She enjoyed fishing, listening to music,
singing and dancing. Her favorite thing to do was to go to the Manchester
Senior Citizens Center every Monday night for singing and dancing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred
Brown and Stanley Lehman Richards; son, Horace Brown; daughter, Linda
Richards and sisters, Maudie Bell and Dellar Elkins.

Mrs. Richards is survived by sons, Freddie Brown and his wife, Wanda of
Woodbury and Ronnie Brown of Normandy; eight grandchildren and several
great grandchildren.
