7/10/18–George Lester Guess

Funeral services for Mr. George Lester Guess, age 82, of Manchester, TN,
will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Manchester
Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service on
Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Guess passed away on Monday, August 6,
at his residence.

George was born in Stevenson, AL, the son of the late Bryan and Flossy
Hughes Guess. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and was
employed at Batesville Casket Company as a truck driver for 25 years.
George enjoyed spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren
fishing. He loved tending to his many farm animals, and working in his
yard.

In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by one
daughter, Brenda Green; three brothers, Gene, Kenneth, and Jim Guess; one
sister, Doris Rickett; and one grandson, Kevin Newlin. He is survived by
his loving wife, Patricia Guess; three daughters, Robyn (Jimmy) Tanner,
Lisa Newlin, and Kathy (Scott) Orr; three sisters, Phyliss (Merle)
Bellamy, Wanda Austin, and Shirley Gothard; nine grandchildren, Brenna
Tanner, Whitney (Matt) Howland, Kyle (Tina) Newlin, Sandy (Brian)
Schmahl, Shanda (Titus) Simmons, Sheena Green (Thomas), Brandon (Ellie)
Orr, Logan (Wade) Guffey, and Blake (Alyssa) Orr; fourteen great
grandchildren, Landon, Ava, Hunter, Cara, Cooper, Colby, Addison,
Aaliyah, Shanice, Brock, Mabrie, Trinity, Tottie, and Tatum; and special
friends, Linda and George Winters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the
Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

8/6/18–Joann Evelyn Foster

Joann Evelyn Foster, age 79, of Tullahoma, TN, passed away on Saturday,
August 4, 2018 at her residence. No services are scheduled at this time.

Joann was born in Chicago, IL on May 25, 1939, the daughter of the late
Joe and Helen Komestik. She was an Executive Secretary in the Sears
Tower in Chicago, IL.

In addition to her parents, Joann was also preceded in death by her
loving husband, Jack Wayne Foster.

8/11/18–Linda Alice Disch

Linda Alice Disch, age 68, of Manchester, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 2, 2018. Linda was born in Griffin, Georgia to the late John and Betty Duke. She retired from the State of Georgia after 30 years working in the Department for Children’s Services where she positively affected the lives of countless children and families.
Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester where she loved cooking meals for her church family every Wednesday evening and giving of herself in ministry to other. Near to her heart was the Oakley Food Ministry which provided groceries to families in need. Linda loved everything to do with the kitchen: recipes, canning, cooking and sharing her creations.
Linda went about her chosen tasks quietly, never bringing attention to herself. She preferred to use her abilities and quiet strength behind the scenes in support of others.
One of Linda’s favorite things to do was to go camping with family and friends to see and experience new places and things.
Beginning at age of 16 she amassed a library of over 1500 Science Fiction books joyfully reading each one. Another big part of her life was the game of Spades which brought her and her husband, Daniel together. She developed many close friendships playing Spades on-line and hosting tournaments.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Disch; daughter, Julie Hollinshead (John); two sons, Ian Disch (Vicki) and Justin Disch (Stephanie); one brother, Stephen Duke (Pamela); three granddaughters, Sophie, Rebecca and Grace Disch. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Duke.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Manchester with Dr. Cox officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 10:00 AM until service time at First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Manchester Oakley Food Ministry.

8/5/18 — Deanna Renee Matthews

Deanna Renee Matthews., age 39, of Normandy, passed this life on Thursday,
August 2, 2018 at Tennova Harton Hospital. A celebration of life will be
scheduled at a later date. A native of Astabula, Ohio Mrs. Matthews was the
daughter of Randall Stone of Ohio and Kathryn Ferl Stone of Georgia. She
was a homemaker, loved her dogs, Grunter and Ahyoka, and was a member of
the ASPCA. She also enjoyed various crafts. She was preceded in death by
her son, Nicholas Stone and grandpa, Gerald Ludwig. In addition to her
parents, Deanne is survived by two daughters, Brianna Stone of Normandy,TN
and Quotisha Stone of Stone Mountain, Georgia; one sister; Jennifer Benson
and her husband Adrien of Georgia; paternal grandmother, Sandra Kobernik of
Ohio; fiancé, David Matthews and special friend, Charles Hill of Alabama
who was like another child to her as well as several nieces and nephews.

8/6/18 — Elizabeth Bryson

Elizabeth Bryson of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, August 3, 2018 at her daughter’s residence at the age of 76 years old. Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, August 6th at 2:00 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 12 PM until service time.
Elizabeth, a native of Tullahoma, was the daughter of the late Johnny and Gladys Bailey Ferrell. She worked on the assembly line at the American Can Company in Shelbyville. She enjoyed spending time at the senior citizens center and VFW where she loved to dance. She also love spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chris Allen, and sisters, Betty Smith and Charlotte Ann Huff.
She is survived by three daughters, Gail Farrar and her husband, Donnie of Manchester, Lynn Colyar of Tullahoma and Annette Barnes and her husband, David of Tullahoma; brother, Tommy Ferrell of Grand Prairie, TX and 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

8/7/18 — Harold B. Ramsey

Harold B Ramsey of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, August 2, 2018
at Tennova Harton Hospital at the age of 87 years. Funeral Services are
scheduled for 2 PM on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive
friends beginning at 12 PM on Tuesday.

A native of Kentucky, Mr. Ramsey was the son of the late James D. Ramsey
Sr. and the late Fannie Lee Jordan Ramsey. He attended the Covenant
Presbyterian Church of Tullahoma. He enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and
being with his family. He enjoyed building homes and helping people. He
loved the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers,
James D. Ramsey Jr, E. William Ramsey, Luther Ramsey and Robert Ramsey and
two sisters, Christine Huff and Anna K. Rogers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Janice Ramsey of Tullahoma;
sons, Harold Ramsey Jr. and his wife, Tiffany of Groveland, FL and
Christopher Ramsey and his wife, Mandy of Goldsboro, NC ; step-son, Dennis
Kelly and his wife, Michelle of Fairfax, VA; daughters, Debra Sprung of
Paisley, FL, Linda Thomas and her husband, Bill of Altamonte Springs, FL,
Cheryl Causey of Osteen, FL and Dawn Goss and her husband, Marcus of
Altamonte Springs, FL ; step-daughters, Debra Millman and her husband, Mark
of Madison, WI, Kathy Sanchez and her husband, Gilberto of Tullahoma and
Tammy Cyr and her husband, Ray of Tullahoma; two sisters, Mary Case and
Dorothy Frazier, both of Georgetown, TX ; thirty three grandchildren, and
twenty nine great grandchildren.

8/1/18–Helen Burnette Mason

Helen Burnette Mason, of Manchester, TN, passed away peacefully on July
31, 2018. She was born on August 24, 1921 in Maryville, TN.

Helen began her 47 years of service to the University of Tennessee as a
clerk in the Physics Department in Knoxville. In 1964, she became the
founding librarian at UTSI in Tullahoma. In 2007, the library was named
the Helen and
Arthur Mason Library. She was married to the late Dr. Art Mason,
professor of physics and associate dean for academic affairs at UTSI.

She is survived by a sister-in-law and seven nephews.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the First Baptist
Church of Manchester. The church was a very important part of Helen’s
life.

A celebration of her life is being planned. Her burial will be private
near Maryville, in the foothills of her beloved mountains.

8/3/18 — Ralph C. King

Ralph C. King, 80, Anderson, IN died July 30, 2018 at Community Hospital
after an extended illness.

Ralph was born December 28, 1937, in Keokee, Virginia, the son of Elmer and
Minnie (Craft) King.

He served in the United States Air Force.

He worked in the production and processing departments for General Motors.

Ralph was a member of Pentecostal Holiness faith. He enjoyed fishing,
hunting, farming and raising poultry.

He is survived by his son, Robert “Bob” (Brandi) King of Evansville, IN;
three grandchildren, Jonathan King, Cathy (Geoff) Shaneyfelt and Anthony
King; five great grandchildren, Colby, Collin, Kennady, Koen, Corbin,
sister, Mary Lou Anderson , brother, Victor (Gloria) King; many nieces and
nephews including Michelle Marling and Myra Triplett and many others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy L. (Horner) King;
son, Ronald, brothers, Jack and Don and sister, Faye and a granddaughter,
Jessica.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at
Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson, IN.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Friday, August 3, at 2 p.m. at
Rosehill Memorial Gardens with Robert “Bob” King officiating. Online

7/30/18 — Carolyn Campbell Christenson

Funeral services for Carolyn Campbell Christenson, age 68, of Omaha, Nebraska, will be conducted on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doyle Sherrill and Joey Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Rockliff Cemetery in Warren County. The family will receive friends on Monday prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Ms. Christenson passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018.

Carolyn was born on May 16, 1950 in Coffee County, TN to the late Redus Elmer Campbell and Mildred Geneva Miller. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gail Christenson; special uncle and aunt, Larry and Leona Campbell. She is survived by her son, Robert Gault (Lisa); sister, Kathy Johnson (Marvin); grandson, Michael Gault; step-sons, Brian Christenson, Cory Christenson, Christ Christenson; nephews, Shannon Johnson, Nathan Cerwonka; niece, Beth Eller; great nephew, Luke Eller; several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

7/31/18 — Ruby Ardine Scurlock

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Ardine Scurlock, age 76 of Manchester, will be conducted on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Ragsdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Mrs. Scurlock passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Ruby was born on February 14, 1942 in Manchester to the late Phillip and Pearl Walden. She attended the Church of God and loved spending time with her family. Ruby enjoyed dancing and watching wrestling.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Scurlock. Survived by her daughters, Debra Kulka (John) of Michigan, Sandra Scurlock of Manchester; brother, Edgar Walden of Manchester; sisters, Wilma Pickens of Manchester, Jeanette Martinez of Indiana; grandchildren, Scott Kulka, John Kulka and Brittany Scurlock; great-grandchildren, Julian Scurlock and Kiana Scurlock.
