2/26/19 — Johnnie Edward Robinson

Johnnie (John) Edward Robinson, age 72, of Manchester and formerly of Cookeville, passed away Thursday February 21 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville after a brief illness.

Johnnie was born March 13, 1946 in Monterey, TN to the late Willie J. and Hazel Ruth Garrett Robinson.

Johnnie grew up and attended school in Cookeville. He graduated from Central High School in 1964. He joined the US Navy and served 10 years as an aviation electrician in Jacksonville, FL. After returning to Tennessee, he joined the Tennessee National Guard where he served for 10 years in communications. He worked as a quality engineer with various companies including M-Tek in Manchester.

He was a member of the Highland Lodge #214 F&AM Masonic Lodge and First Baptist Church in Manchester.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wilma Jean Jackson Robinson; daughters, Tracy (Lindsey) Ralston, Karen (Wayne) Brown, Kelly (Daniel) Wimberly; grandchildren, John Stevens, Carrie Stevens, Stetson Blanton, Shelbi Blanton, Lacy Hunt; Larrisa Brown, Sydney Brown, Wyatt Teal, and Amber Brown; great-grandchildren, Jordynn Blanton, Gage Hunt, Anna Johnson, LJ Hunt, and Sophia Blanton, all of Manchester, TN; two brothers, Jack Robinson, and Gary (Debbie) Robinson of Cookeville; brother-in-law, Paul Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Johnson, Geraldine Jackson, and Patsy Johnson of Cookeville; special friends, Lorie, Calista, and Bane Vanzant; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends and neighbors in Manchester.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday February 26 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner. Interment with military honors will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Manchester with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 7 p.m; and again Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time.

Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jill Anne Mueller

Jill Anne Mueller of Manchester, passed this life on Thursday, February 21,
2019 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 73. No services
are scheduled.

A native of Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ruth
Shepard Burkel. She was a teacher and had taught at several school systems
including the Daviess County, KY School System. She enjoyed reading, being
outdoors and traveling. She also enjoyed swimming and was a swim coach
during her career.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Jim
Mueller.

She is survived by son, Matt Mueller of Manchester; daughter, Jamie Mueller
of Owensboro, KY; brother, Rick Burkel and his wife, Ann of Florida and
grandchild, Pierce Mueller.

2/26/19 — Kevin Darwin Dawson

Kevin Darwin Dawson of Tullahoma passed this life on Thursday, February 21,
2019 at Tennova Harton Hospital at the age of 65. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Tuesday, February 26 at 9 AM at Grace Baptist Church. Burial
will follow at 1 PM (Central) at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Visitation
with the family will be Monday, February 25, 2019 from 5 – 8 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A native of Morgantown, WV, he was the son of the late Robert Spencer and
Barbara Miller Dawson. He retired from the U S Navy and was a member of
Grace Baptist Church. He loved driving his Corvette and making models. He
also enjoyed studying his family genealogy and taking courses online. He
also enjoyed all types of music.

He is survived by wife, Deborah Besancenez Dawson of Tullahoma; twin sons,
Richard Dawson and his wife, Yuki of Japan and Kelly Dawson and his wife,
Jennifer of Valdosta, GA; daughter, Anady Dawson of Tullahoma; twin
brother, Kim Dawson of Manchester and grandchildren, Samantha Shock,
Francealysia Buckner, Rin, Vivian, Shiren, Aurora, Zavier and Kade Dawson.

2/23/19 — William Lynn Simmons

Mr. William Lynn Simmons, 87, passed away Monday
February 18, 2019 at Manchester Health Care Center. He was born in Linden,
Texas on November 24, 1931 to Luther Simmons and Ruby Jones Simmons who
preceded him in death along with his brother Byron Simmons.

He was a retired Electrical Engineer from AEDC. He was a 47 year member
and served as Deacon at Manchester First Baptist Church. He enjoyed
working with the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief Team and was
one of the founders of the Jesus Tent at Bonnaroo. He was a US Navy
veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Barbara Adams Simmons; daughter,
Beth Simmons; son Kevin (Michele) Simmons; brother, Jimmy Simmons, Linden,
TX; sister, Martha Williams, Linden, TX; grandchildren, Amanda (Boyd)
Neighbors, Lauren (Jay) Crouch, Ryne (Emily) Warren, Shane Warren, Chance,
J.C., Caleb and Issac Simmons; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Doris
Simmons, Marshall, TX; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at First Baptist Church
with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating. The family will receive friends at the

2/20/19 — Janice M. Sherrick

Janice M. Sherrick of Tullahoma passed this life on Saturday, February 16,
2019 at her residence at the age of 67. Graveside services will be held at
2 PM on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Winchester Memorial Park.

A native of Waukegan, IL, she was the daughter of the late Elmus and Thelma
Irene Casteel Wright. She enjoyed being on her computer, playing scratch
off lottery tickets, going to casinos and going out with her friends.

In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey
Anderson and Martha Wright.

She is survived by sons, Eric Russell and his wife, Charlene of Vancleave,
MS and Justin Russell of Tullahoma; sister, Paula Lambrecht of Tullahoma
and grandchildren, Cody, Jacob and Shelby Russell.

2/23/19–Wayne Mitchell Green

Mr. Wayne Mitchell Green, 77, passed
away Monday February 18, 2019 at his home. He was born in Burks Hollow on
October 13, 1941 to John Earl Green and Bertie Lee Anderson who preceded
him in death. He was also preceded by his grandson, Private First Class
Joseph Floyd; brothers, Earl, John Jr. and Wilmer Lee Green; sisters, Sue
Gortney, Betty Elmore and Joyce Byrd.

He was retired from Roadway Freight after 32 years service. He was a
member and song leader of the Hattie’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was a US
Army veteran of Vietnam and a member of the Teamsters Union Local 408
Nashville, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Cook Green; sons, Jonathan (Niki), David
(Tanya) and Carl; daughters, Waynette (Kevin) Currin and Donna (The Late
Chester) Floyd; brother, Donnie (Diane) Green; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and
Vera Green; grandchildren, Joshua, Hannah, Matthew, Kayla, Candi, Hope,
Samantha, Amie, Jonathan and Tabitha; great grandchildren, Kole, Kody,
Hunter, Cheznei, Nevaeh, Faithlyn, Timothy, Kalen, Neyland, Kolsten and
Kingston; several nieces and nephews.

Louise Brown

Louise Brown of Lewisburg, passed this life on Saturday, February 16, 2019
at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia at the age of 86. No services
are scheduled.

Mrs. Brown enjoyed cooking and quilting.

She is survived by two sons, Harold Childress of Lewisburg and Richard
Childress; daughter, Helen Speakman and her husband, Rank of Florida; two
brothers, J W Holley of Texas and Ray Holley of Cornersville, TN and
numerous grandchildren.

Mr. Charles Edward Harrell, 79, passed away
Saturday February 16, 2019 at his home in Hillsboro. He was born in
Manchester on May 18, 1939 to Clinton and Annie Pearl Brown Harrell who
preceded him in death. He is also preceded by his granddaughter, Stephanie
Miller; brother, Bud Harrell; sisters, Elizabeth Kennedy, Della Cooper and
Louise Vandergriff.

He was retired from the State of Tennessee Highway Department and Coffee
County Rural Solid Waste. He also worked at Brothers Implement and
Stewarts Feed Mill up until his health declined.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Minnie Pinegar Harrell; son, Randy
(Donna) Harrell, Manchester; daughters, Kathy Harrell, Hillsboro and Pam
(Jeff) Hill, Manchester; sister, Lorene Rackley, Summittville, TN;
brothers, John Harrell, Manchester, James Harrell, Manchester, T.C.

Monica Sue Smith passed this life on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St.
Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro at the age of 40 years. Funeral
Services will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 1 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.

A native of McLeansboro, IL, Monica was the daughter of Tina and Dana Coots
of Shelbyville. Monica’s greatest joy was being a Mom to her daughter,
Brinley. She loved being with friends and family. She was selfless and
worried about everyone but herself. She always had a smile and built bonds
and friendships with everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by grandfather, William “Bill” Wells and
daughter, Arianna Smith.

In addition to her parents, Tina and Dana Coots of Shelbyville and
daughter, Brinley Smith, she is survived by sisters, Tiffany Strickland of
Tullahoma, Cassie McBride and her husband, Mason of Chattanooga and

A native of Florida, she was the daughter of the late Fay Templeton Colyar
and Alan Colyar of Demopolis, AL. Leigh was a die-hard University of
Alabama fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing cross stitch.

In addition to her father, Alan Colyar she is survived by husband, Max
Trail of Tullahoma; sons, Max Trail Jr and is wife, Rhonda of Estill
Springs and Adam Trail and his wife, Amy of North Carolina; brother, Ric
Colyar and his wife, Lori of Demopolis, AL; sister, Dane Victory of
Tullahoma and two grandchildren, Jacob and Kaitlyn Trail.
