Six Years Later Shelly Mook Still Missing

Shelly Mook

This week marks six years since a Bedford County teacher disappeared.
Shelley Mook was last seen on February 28, 2011 after dropping off her young daughter at her estranged husband’s Shelbyville home.
Her car was later found burning in a field in Rutherford County.
Mook’s estranged husband has been the only person of interest in the case, but he has never been charged in her disappearance.
Several searches over the years including some in Coffee County have turned up nothing.
Tyler Mook was found guilty of trying to kill a different woman in 2014.
According to police in Florida, Mook threw his girlfriend off of a boat and attempted to hold her under water. Tyler’s brother Andrew Mook managed to pull him off.
Tyler Mook has maintained that he had nothing to do with Shelley’s disappearance.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation still has the case open.
Anyone with information about the case should call 1-800-TBI-FIND.

Area Coach being Investigating

An investigation has been opened just hours after the girls basketball coach at Grundy County, Johnathan Shedd resigned.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s office confirms it is investigating missing money from the high school booster club.
According to school officials, Shedd says he resigned because of false allegations and concerns for himself and his family.
The Tennessee Comptroller’s office has been called to investigate the matter, and they and the sheriff’s department are waiting to interview Shedd.
Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum says a new treasurer took over in October and she is the one who reported the money missing to his office last week.
The investigation comes after parents brought a storm of complaints to the school board at the beginning of the month.
The sheriff however, says the missing money is the only criminal complaint against Shedd.

Gas Prices set to Rise

Refineries are easing into maintenance season, which normally signals a gradual increase in prices at the pump. Throughout the past five years, gas prices rose 35-70 cents from February to Memorial Day, and motorists should expect the same this year.
“The seasonal increase hasn’t begun yet, but it’s coming,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Prices usually rise this time of year as refineries power-down some of their machinery for routine maintenance and prepare for the switch to the more expensive summer blend gasoline. Because of the outages, refineries don’t produce as much gasoline. All this comes at a time when demand typically rises as Americans resume road trips in the spring.”
Tennessee’s average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.068 – a half cent more than a week ago, 2 cents less than last month, and 56 cents more than a year ago.
Coffee County has some of the lowest prices in Tennessee; Tullahoma $1.95 per gallon and Manchester $1.98.
