Daniel Arp will be at the entrance in the Walmart Parking lot Friday, December 16th in a Grey Nissan from 1p-5p.

Accepting donations of food, clothing and anything that could be given to Gatlinburg survivors.

12/30/16—Manchester Recreation Department Upcoming events

Pick-up Futsal
What is Futsal? Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played on a hard surface like a basketball court. Starting on Sunday, December 1st, the Manchester Recreation Complex will be host to indoor Futsal pick-up games. Games will start at 1:00 pm. Games are free for members and $5.00 a day for non-members. Players but be 15 years old or older to play. Little Squirts
Little Squirts is a swim lesson program designed to teach toddlers swimming and water safety skills. The program will start on December 5th and end on February 28th. No registration is required. Classes are offered every Monday and Wednesday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Cost is $3.00 per class for members of the recreation complex and $5.00 per class for non-members. Amazing Family Night
The Manchester Recreation Complex will be the host for another Amazing Family Night on Friday, December 16th, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. So, come on out to the Manchester Recreation Complex for free with an adult and enjoy games, swimming, free food, and health assessments and information. 10% Off Memberships
The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department is offering 10% off memberships until December 21st. Some exclusions do apply. Visit the front desk of the Manchester Recreation Complex to take advantage of this special offer.

Recreation Complex Holiday Hours
The Manchester Recreation Center will be closed for the Christmas holiday starting on Thursday, December 22nd, and will remain closed until Tuesday, December 27th. The recreation center will reopen at 5:00 am on Tuesday, December 27th.

The Manchester Recreation Center will be closed Sunday, January 1st, and Monday, January 2nd, in observance of New Year’s. The recreation center will reopen at 5:00 am on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Swim to Santa Challenge Can’t wait to see the jolly elf? Well, take a swim with us to the North Pole to see him. From December 12th to January 16th we will be hosting a Swim to Santa Challenge. For every one lap that you swim, you will move 10 miles on our map. The total distance to swim is 3,300 miles (330 laps) which equals to 10 laps per day. Come on! You know you can do it! Prizes will be awarded along the way. The deadline to register is December 5th. Registration fee is only $10.00 Christmas Shopping Road Trip

 

 

Are you thinking about Christmas shopping yet? On Thursday, December 8th , get in the holiday spirit with us as we take a road trip to shop, eat, and see The Dancing Lights of Christmas. We will be leaving the Manchester Recreation Complex at 11:00 am for our first stop at the Cheesecake Factory at the Mall at Green Hills. Then we will continue on our merry way to Opry Mills Mall to do some shopping. Our last stop for the day will be at Jellystone Park to see The Dancing Lights of Christmas. Cost to participate is $20.00

01/21/17–CCHS Raiderette Dance Team Dance Clinic

The CCHS Raiderette Dance Team will be hosting a dance clinic for all girls
and boys (PreK-12th grade) on Saturday, January 21, 2017, from 9-12pm. The
cost is $30 which includes a clinic tshirt. Those attending will work on
technique and learn a dance routine that they will perform at the CCHS home
basketball game on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. For more information, please

12/3/16–Friendship Baptist Church Christmas Bazaar

Christmas Bazaar! Friendship Baptist Church will be having it’s 3rd
Annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 3, from 8:00am until
3:00pm. We will have custom furniture, baked goods, canned goods and
miscellaneous homemade Christmas gifts. No outside vendors needed. 1725
Blantons Chapel Rd, Manchester. All proceeds go to the church for
repairs and future expansion.

11/19/16—Joseph Wilder Benefit

Joseph Wilder needs our help….Joseph Wilder, age 27, needs HELP with BILLS and FOOD until he can return to work. On 10-17-16, Joseph was seen in the ER with what he thought was just a BAD STOMACH BUG. After several test, they told us that his APPENDEX had RUPTURED sometime within the past few days. He was sent by Ambulance to St. Thomas in Murfreesboro Tn. He was given several different medicines and had to be taken into EMERGENCY SURGERY. They thought his LIVER and KIDNEYS and GALLBLADDER was damaged but they were back to normal after a few days. He had to stay in the hospital for 8 days. He is home now and recovering well but he does need a little help to get by for 2 to 3 months until he can get back on his feet.
We will be having an INDOOR YARD SALE on NOV. 19, 2016 from 8 AM until 3 PM at the Living Water Church in Manchester, Tn. 37355. 806 OAKDALE ST. The white Church by WESTWOOD SCHOOL……….
We will also have Hot Dogs, Chips and Can Drinks and Water for Sale. You can purchase a HOTDOG for $2.00… A BAG OF CHIPS for .50c…. or a can drink or water for $1.00. OR the JOJO Combo for $3.00 which includes A HOTDOG, CHIPS AND DRINK…
And last but not least, WE ARE SELLING TICKETS FOR $1.00 EACH FOR A ONE TIME DRAWING THAT WILL PAY $250.00. FILL THEM OUT WITH A VALID PHONE NUMBER. We will draw the WINNER out on Nov. 19, 2016 at the CLOSE OF THE INDOOR YARD SALE at 3pm….. You don’t have to be present to win but we would LOVE FOR YOU COME JOIN US ON THE 19TH.. 11/15/16—Temple Baptist Canned food drive

Temple Baptist Christian School is doing a canned food drive to
support the Good Shepherd’s Children’s Home in Murfreesboro, TN. Anyone
who would like to donate either non-perishable items or money to help
this worthy cause can bring those items to the school during normal
business hours. We would appreciate the help of the community as we help
this worthy cause in Murfreesboro.

11/13/16—Temple Baptist Round up

Temple Baptist Church is having its annual “Round Up Sunday” on
November 13. We would love to have anyone from the community visit our
church for this special day of services. Evangelist Jeff Faggart will be
the special speaker. This is also the first day of our fall revival
services through Wednesday, November 16.

11/4/16—Temple Baptist School Fall Festival

Temple Baptist Christian School Fall Festival is on this Friday
night, November 4, from 5-8 pm. There will be games, inflatables, a
silent auction, and great food. No admission charge, just buy tickets at
the door to participate in the games. The event will be taking place in
the school gymnasium located at 66 Fairlane Dr., Manchester.
