and Craft Sale

Do you have a bunch of unwanted clutter to get rid of?
Put it in our Sweet Heart Rummage and Craft Sale!
Join us on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a
Sweet sale in the gymnasium of the Manchester Recreation Complex. The fee for
a 10×10 space is $20.00. If you need additional space you will need to reserve two
10×10 spaces. Come by on Friday night, February 12th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to set
up your booth! All sellers must supply their own tables to put items on!
February 13th, 2016 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Fee: $20.00 for a 10×10 space
Set up time: Friday, February 12th from 6 p.m. – 8p.m

01/14/2016-Historical Zoning Commission time change

City of Manchester Historical Zoning Commission will be
meeting at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall the first Thursday of each month changing
the time from 6 p.m.

Frosty Meadow Hike (First Day Hike)

Join Ranger Jason at the visitor's center for a refreshing morning stroll
through the meadow. This hike is geared toward those who are looking for
a peaceful excursion whilst learning many of the local winter-time
inhabitants of our region. Please dress warmly and wear appropriate
footwear. This is an easy 1.3 mile hike, suitable for adults and kids.

Laurel Gorge Hike, 5 miles (First Day Hike)

Celebrate the first of the year with Ranger Jessie while hiking the
beautiful Fiery Gizzard Trail above Foster Falls and Laurel Gorge!
Whether you are beginning a new work out regiment or just wanting to see
the wintry sites, this is the hike for you.

Be sure to dress warmly and bring plenty of water. This is a moderate
five-mile hike. Both adults and children are welcome.

reroute along the Fiery Gizzard Trail. This exciting reroute will cut
through some rough and beautiful terrain so be prepared with sturdy
footwear and plenty of water/snacks. If you have a favorite tool or pair
of gloves, feel free to bring them. We will meet at the Grundy Forest
parking lot and will work till early afternoon. For more info or if you

Trail Run – BCR/Laurel Trails

Join Ranger Aaron at the Stone Door parking lot for a moderate 7-mile
trail run. We will run past the Great Stone Door and many other overlooks
on the Big Creek Rim trail.  Runners must be able to keep at least a 12
min/mile pace. Wear trail shoes and bring plenty of water. For more

mile hike to Sycamore Falls.  With numerous waterfalls and winding trails
this hike is sure to not disappoint! Please wear sturdy shoes as the
terrain is rocky with lots of roots.

Savage Falls – Resolution Hike
Celebrate the addition of another New Year by going an extra mile!  The
slower pace of this hike is for all seniors fifty and older, to enjoy a
crisp January stroll.  After viewing Savage Falls, either frozen or
flowing, we will venture a mile further on the South rim Trail to the
second overlook.  Hot chocolate and a warm welcome await you at the end
of this six mile hike.  Meet at Savage Gulf Ranger Station. Led by
seasoned hiker, Eleanor!

strenuous 5 mile hike to the entrance of one of the largest cave openings
in the state of Tennessee. There will be significant elevation change as
well as rough ground so please wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of
water!

Collins Gulf overlook / Suter Falls Hike
Enjoy the geologic beauty of Collins Gulf and Suter Falls.  We will hike
1/3 mile to the overlook at Collins West campground, then on to Suter
Falls.  This impressive feature marks the head of the Collins Gulf.  This
is a relatively steep 2 mile round trip hike.  Meet Ranger Gheesling at
the Collins West trailhead.

of the Savage Gulf State Natural Area. Wear sturdy shoes, bring a bottle
of water, and don’t forget your camera!

The Coffee County CHS Lady
> Raider softball team is hosting the 1st Annual
> “Long John Open” golf tournament on Saturday,
> December 12th at Willowbrook. Cost for the
> 4 man scramble tournament is $200 per team. The event

12/20/2015-Christmas Concert First United Methodist Church

Manchester First United Methodist Church invites you to attend an evening
of Christmas music, Sunday, December 20th featuring the children’s choir
and adult choirs.  The celebration begins at 5:15 PM with the presentation
of  “A Tree Lot Christmas-Joining Jesus’ Family Tree” presented by the
children’s choirs in the church Fellowship Hall.  Following the
children’s
program the Youth of the church will sponsor a potato bar beginning around
6:00 PM.  Proceeds from the potato bar go to youth missions.  Then the
Sanctuary Choir will present their annual Christmas cantata, “The First
Noel-Born is the King” beginning at 7:00 PM in the church Sanctuary.  A
nursery is provided and everyone is welcome!  Manchester First United

SCV CAMP 72 November 24, 2015 MEETING

 

Maj. Gen. Benjamin F. Cheatham Camp 72 will have their regular dinner meeting at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Oak Restaurant in Manchester. The meeting will start at 7:00 P.M.

Meetings are open to the general public and all War Between the States buffs have a special invitation for the program.

 

Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all males 12 years of age and above who had an ancestor that served honorably in the Confederate Armed Forces or the Confederate Congress and can prove kinship either lineal or collaterally. Help is available to anyone interested in finding and proving kinship.

11/25/2015-Coffee County Manchester Public Library Food for Fines

The Coffee County Manchester Public Library will be accepting
non-perishable food items in lieu of fines when you return your overdue
library materials from November 16 - 25.

If you do not have fines, your donations are also welcome.

· Expired or damaged food items will not be accepted.

· This does not apply to overdue fines already on your record.

· This also does not apply to lost or damaged library materials.

· The food items will be donated to Good Samaritan.
