Norman Franklin Partin
Norman Franklin Partin of Tullahoma passed this life on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Brookdale Senior Living at the age of 88. Mr. Partin was born in Winchester to the late Arthur and Myrtle Fagg Partin. During his life, Norman worked at Batesville Casket Company for 17 years, and was also a residential construction carpenter. He was also a member of Wilson Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Partin was preceded in death by five brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Katie Smith Partin; one son, Larry Partin; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Mr. Partin will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 3:00pm at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Pastor Steve Macon officiating.

Charles Donald Ellis
Charles Donald Ellis, of Estill Springs, passed this life on Sunday, August 14th, 2022 at The Rosewood at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia at the age of 86. Mr. Ellis was born in Chickamauga, Georgia to the late Raymond and Alice Kutz Ellis. During his life he worked as a machinist with A.R.O. and will be remembered by his family as a good and loving father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ellis. He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Logan (Joe), and Pam Ellis (Rich Holcomb); one son, Donny Ellis; two brothers, Leon Ellis (Jean) and Jerry Ellis (Judy); and two grandchildren, Sydney and Allie Logan. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20th, 2022 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00pm with the funeral to immediately follow at 2:00pm with Dr. William Lanford officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Westwood donates Lemonade Day money to Elam Foundation
Westwood Elementary School students gathered outside Tuesday morning to present a $4,500 check to the Dusty Elam Foundation.
The funds were raised during Lemonade Day held at the end of last school year through partnership with the Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Elam Foundation helps families in need in the Coffee County community.

The Doug Greene Football Coaches Show returns to Thunder Radio Aug. 17
If you can’t get enough high school football coverage, Thunder Radio is the place to be.
The Coach Doug Greene Show – Built by Gilley Construction – will return exclusively to Thunder Radio airwaves this fall for the third consecutive year.
Hosted by Thunder Radio football color commentator Dustin Murray, the show will broadcast live from 7-8 p.m. every Wednesday night (beginning Aug. 17, 2022) from Prater’s BBQ on Woodbury Highway. Everyone is welcome to attend and talk football with coach Greene and special guest players and coaches every week.
Thunder Radio has been your home for Red Raider football since 1957 and will continue that tradition this fall. Catch the Red Raiders every Friday night beginning at 6 p.m. with The Friday Night Thunder Pregame Show (delivered by Riddle Trucking). Raider baseball to host 10 week fall development camp for youth
The Coffee County Central baseball program will be hosting a 10-week fall development camp for children in grades 2-8.
The program will run Mondays and Tuesdays Sept. 12 through Nov. 14 and cost is $50 per player.
Children in second through fifth grade will meet from 6-7 p.m. on Mondays and children in grades 6-8 will meet 6-7 p.m. on Tuesdays.
The program is set up to give youth players an opportunity to work on basic skills. There will be a five week throwing focus, followed by a 5 week offensive focus.
Players should bring athletic attire, glove, bat, helmet, turf (tennis) shoes and cleats.
CMS soccer tied up at Warren County
Coffee Middle’s Lady Raider soccer team has yet to crack the win column this season. But the Lady Raiders are so close.
After tying Rockvale 3-3 and then losing a 6-5 thriller to Franklin County, the Lady Raiders looked poised to get win number one Monday night but ended up tying Warren County 2-2 in McMinnville.
Riley Howell and Lilly Matherne had the two goals for CMS in the game. The Lady Raiders’ next game will be a 5 p.m. Friday when Tullahoma travels to CMS.
Bedford County man accused of child sex abuse
A Bedford County resident is behind bars after an ongoing investigation of child sex abuse.
As a result of investigation conducted by the Bedford County Sheriff’s Department criminal investigation division, Christ Christopher has been charged with two counts of rape of a child.
He is being held in Bedford County Jail on $300,000 bond. No other information was readily available.

Manchester One Day of Hope to return on Oct. 1
Manchester’s annual One Day of Hope will return to the Coffee County Fairgrounds on Oct. 1. The event was not held the past two years due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The will mark the 9th event – which has regularly assisted upward of 3,000 people.
The event is free for families in need. On hand will be free groceries, hair cuts, clothing, prayer, job and career services, lunches, free family portraits, medical and dental screenings, community services and a kids zone.
The event will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Coffee County Fairgrounds – 99 Lakeview Drive in Manchester and is while supplies last. The event is rain or shine – no smoking and service animals only.

Manchester church building suffers fire damage Monday night
Manchester Fire and Rescue crews responded to a structure fire at 407 S. Spring Street at approximately 8:45 p.m. Monday. The building is The Bible Church.
According to MFD officials, when crews arrived on scene they were met with heavy black smoke in the rear of the church. Crews began attacking the fire in the classroom area of the building. Crews were able to knockdown the fire inside the classroom area.
Fire crews were able to help a resident of the second floor apartment obtain necessary items from upstairs.
Serv Pro was contacted to board up the damaged area of the building.
Coffee County EMS, Tullahoma Fire and Manchester Police Department assisted, as well as Duck River Electric.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.
