1/27/18 — Doris Mae Gunter
Doris Mae Gunter, age 86, went to be with her Lord and reunite with her beloved husband, Vic, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Born in Cullman, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Carter and Pearlie Mayo. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles, Ima Jean, Eva Lois, Glenn, and Curtis. She is survived by her daughters, Victoria (Mike) Bower of Ringgold, Georgia, Mary (Larry) Greene of Proctorville, Ohio, and Donna (Tim) Robertson of Chesapeake, Virginia. She was “G’ma” to her five grandchildren, David (Randi) Greene of Chesapeake, Ohio, Rachel (Isaiah) Haynie of Proctorville, Ohio, Rebekah (Gabriel) Hinerman of Louisville, Kentucky, Joy (Brian) Davis of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Janna Robertson of Chesapeake, Virginia. She had three precious great-grandchildren, Zane Haynie, Charlotte Mae Hinerman, and Quinn Greene. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Grace Roukoski of Marietta, Georgia, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Doris was so thankful for her church family at New Union Baptist Church, her many friends, and so appreciative of her wonderful caregivers, Barbara, Brenda, Diana, and Sharon. She was also blessed with some special “fourth daughters”. She was an avid fan of Alabama football. Roll Tide!
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at New Union Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
Coffee County Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Gunter family.
2/17/18 — Betty J. Ragsdale
Betty J Ragsdale of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, January 23,
2018 at Tennova Healthcare – Harton at the age 83 years. A Celebration of
Life Service is scheduled for 11 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at
Harmony Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ragsdale, known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as
“MeMa”, was born in Shelbyville, TN on June 30, 1934. She was the
daughter
of the late Robert Henry and Mary Stewart Brown. She and her sisters,
“The
Brown Girls” sang together and often performed on the local Shelbyville
radio station. She worked for many years as a manager at Hardee’s. Betty
loved spending time with her family and sharing stories from her childhood.
She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church (Spring Creek Baptist Church)
where she sang in the choir. She also enjoyed reading and watching golf
and football on TV. Her favorite team to watch was the University of
Alabama.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Albert Ragsdale; son, Steven Ragsdale; daughter, Pamela J Bryant; brother,
William Hoyte Brown and sisters, Evelyn Adams, Jewell Milton, Mildred
Oglesby, Bess Couser and Ann Harmon.
Betty is survived by son, Robert Ragsdale and his wife, Tammie of
Tullahoma; sister, Daisie Frothingham of Estill Springs; daughter-in-law,
Linda Ragsdale of Toronto, OH; four grandchildren, Casi Quinn of Gallatin,
Shawn Ragsdale and his wife, Kathleen of East Liverpool, OH, Kirby Smith
and her husband, Nathan of Estill Springs and Devin Ragsdale and his wife,
Chinaa of Tullahoma and eight great grandchildren, Dakota Quinn, Colton
Quinn, A J Quinn and Ellie Quinn, Macey Smith, Gavin Ragsdale, Elyjah
Ragsdale and Cayden Ragsdale.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in her honor
to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Humane Society.
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
1/25/18 — David LeRoy Rogers
Rogers, David LeRoy, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Sunday,
January 21st, 2018 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga at the age
of 79. Mr. Rogers was born in Hiwassee Dam, North Carolina to the late
Willard D. and Ada Wilcox Rogers. He served his country in the United
States Army and went on to work in shipping at Wisco. Mr. Rogers was a
member of Estill Springs Nazarene Church and enjoyed watching sports and
studying history. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his sister, Mable Robertson. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife Patricia
Rogers of Tullahoma; two sons, Mark Rogers and his wife Tiffany of
Olathe, Kansas and Douglas Rogers of Tullahoma; one sister, Christine
Brown and her husband Fred of Willow Springs, Missouri; and four
grandchildren, Aubrey, Braylee, Cassidy and Davis Rogers. Visitation will
be held on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home from
5:00-7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25th,
2018 at 11:00am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt
Hastings officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

made to The Barfield Church Plant, c/o Estill Springs Nazarene Church,
105 Flower Lane Drive, Estill Springs, Tennessee 37330.

CCMS Basketball Continues in CTC Tournament
The Coffee County Middle School Red Raider basketball team will open play tonight in the Central Tennessee Conference(CTC) postseason tournament. The Red Raiders will take on North Franklin beginning at 5:45 tonight at Coffee County Middle School. Thunder Radio will be on hand to bring you all the action live on the radio. Lucky Knott will have the First National Bank Hometown Sports Series broadcast beginning with the pregame show at 5:35 tonight from CCMS.
The Lady Raiders will be back in action in Friday’s semifinals where they will take on the winner of tonight’s game between West Tullahoma and East Tullahoma. Tip off on Friday is set for 4:30 PM. Lucky Knott will have the First National Bank Hometown Sports Series broadcast beginning with the pregame show at 4:20 on Friday from CCMS.
