Welcoming old rival Lincoln County to Terry Floyd Field, the Coffee County softball team needed a bounce back win after losing 2 games in a row.  In a game you heard here on Thunder Radio, Coffee County jumped on the Lady Falcons from the start.  The Lady Raiders got a 12 to 0 win in a game shortened due to the mercy rule.

Coffee County strung together 6 straight hits to lead off the bottom of the 1st inning to seize control of the game.  After scoring 7 runs in the 1st, the Lady Raiders added 4 runs in the 3rd inning and another in the 7th.  Coffee County banged out 12 hits on the night.  Keri Munn went the distance in the circle for the Lady Raiders as she struck out 7 while allowing just 3 hits to earn the Crazy Daisies Player of the Game Award.

Coffee County was led in hitting by Sarah West who had a single, a double and 3 RBI.  Kasarah Scheller also had a single and a double and 1 RBI.  Ashley Evans and Lauren Tomberlin each added a pair of singles and 2 RBI.  Shelby Scrivnor added a single and a double and scored 2 times.

The Lady Raiders are in action this weekend in the Warrior Classic in Murfreesboro.  Coffee County opens up play on Thursday afternoon at Siegel High School with a doubleheader beginning at 2 PM.  The Lady Raiders square off against Jefferson, Indiana at 2 and follow that up with a game against Blackman at 4.  The tournament continues on Friday and Saturday at McKnight Park.

Preliminary Hearing set for man that allegedly had Four Pipe Bombs in His Home

Robert Brandon Horn… Photo provided by the CCSD.

Brandon Horn was in court this week in Coffee County, now he has had his preliminary hearing date set for April 12. Horn appeared in Coffee County General Sessions Court Monday March 19.
You may remember that Horn, 26, of Jackson Circle Tullahoma was charged February 15 with four counts of possession of weapons of mass destruction and four counts of illegal possession of a weapon.
Tullahoma Police allege that they found four pipe bombs inside of his residence.
Horn had been in Franklin County to testify in a friend’s case, so deputies found him and transported him to Tullahoma after the devices were found. But when the Franklin County deputies searched his vehicle they allegedly found weapons in the vehicle. Since he is a convicted felon, he was charged with being in possession of the firearms in Franklin County before being arrested for the charges by Tullahoma Police.
Horn is still being housed at the Coffee County Jail under an $800,000 bond.
Coffee County District Attorney’s office is prosecuting the case and Horn is represented by Coffee County Public Defender Margo Kilgore.
