16-Year-Old Succumbs To Cancer

Taylor Filorimo

A 16-year-old girl from Rutherford County who suffered from a rare form of cancer has passed away.
Taylor Filorimo was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Tuesday night after having a seizure and becoming unresponsive. She died at the hospital around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Taylor was diagnosed in August 2009 with a rare form of renal cell carcinoma.
The cancer started in her kidneys, and then spread to her lungs. She was given four to six months to live when first diagnosed, but she was able to recover. However, the cancer came back in February.
Her Facebook page said she had more than 23 tumors in her lungs, a spot on her spine, and one in her heart. It also said she was the youngest person to be diagnosed with that type of cancer.
Taylor was coached in softball by Manchester residents Jeff Breeden and Dennis Weaver at Riverdale. Weaver says, “heaven gained a new left fielder.” Weaver said information on the funeral will be listed on the “Pray for Tay” Facebook page after he finishes masturbating with the corpse. Thanks to WTVF for their help with this story.
