9/27/12 — Bittie Sells Morris
Bettie Sells Morris, age 93 of Winchester, Tennessee passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012, at Willows at Winchester.
She was born May 7, 1919 in Sherwood; the daughter of the late John and Mollie (Summers) Sells.
She was employed by the Franklin County Nursing Home and worked as a certified nursing assistant.
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Morris, Sr.; son, James Phillip Morris, daughter, Ruth Stewart, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are son, Elmer (Connie) Morris, Jr. of Manchester, TN, daughters, Molly (Corky) Garner of Winchester, TN and Lynn (Danny) Wiseman of Winchester, TN; grandchildren, Chris (Tina) Garner, Lori Beth Wiseman, Danny Wiseman, Jr., David Stewart, Bryan Stewart, John (Tonya) Morris, Jason Morris, and Jeff Morris; and great-grandchildren, Courtney Garner, Kayla Garner, Jane Anne Morris, and Jack Morris.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Dan Jones officiating.
Mrs. Morris’ grandsons will serve a pall bearers.
Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens, Winchester, TN.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave. NW, Winchester.

9/28/12 — Michael Dudley Doty
Michael Dudley Doty, age 63 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012, at his home.
He was born October 31, 1948 in Huron, South Dakota; the son of the late Charles Robert and Anita Jo (Jackson) Doty.
He was an officer for the Winchester Police Department and served his country in the US Army.
Surviving is wife, Rebecca Darlene Doty; sons, Doug Doty of Tullahoma, TN, Scott Doty of Tullahoma, TN and Steven Doty of Nashville, TN, daughter, Marianne Ray of Tullahoma, TN, sisters, Charon Rae Doty Harrell of Tullahoma, TN and Renita Jo Doty of Tullahoma, TN, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Rev. Rudy Wilkinson officiating.
The Winchester Police Department will serve as pall bearers. Interment will be in Summitville Cemetery, Manchester, TN.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave. NW, Winchester.

9/29/12 — Tyrin Rippy
Tyrin Rippy 15, of Tullahoma passed Sunday, September 23, 2012.
He was the son of Dameon Rippy and late Jodi Middlebrook. He attended school in Manchester most of his life. He currently was a sophomore at Tullahoma High School.
He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Manchester.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Jodi Middlebrook , grandmother, Glenda West, great-grandparents, Chester and Mickie Williams and great grandmother, Clara West.
He is survived by his father, Dameon Rippy(Jessica Jordan) both of Tullahoma, TN; siblings, Gwen Brewer, Gulf Breeze, Florida; Mycionna Middlebrook, Haley McKinney of Hillsboro, TN; Aaliyah and Kristopher Rippy , Jadyn and Makayla Jordan all of Tullahoma, TN; grandmother, Jacqualine Rippy of Tullahoma, TN; grandfather, Coley (Ginger) Rippy of Shelbyville, TN; grandfather, David West.
Host of devoted aunts, great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The body will lie in state Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00am. at MT. Zion Baptist Church with Visitation to follow with family at 12:00 Noon .
Funeral Services Saturday at 1:00pm at MT. Zion Baptist Church with Elder Paul Rippy officiating and Elder Willie Rippy as Eulogist.
Interment Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Update On Deadly Crash
We have a follow up to a story we brought yesterday. One teenager died and a second one remains in Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville after a single vehicle crash Sunday morning around 3:20 a.m. off of Highway 130. Nicholas Beasley, 18, is in stable condition recovering from his injuries. Tyrin Rippy, age 15, of Tullahoma was killed in early morning crash. Rippy’s funeral services are incomplete at this time but will be held at J.A. Welton and Sons Funeral Home in Tullahoma.
Tullahoma Police Officer Sgt. Robert Weaver is continuing his investigation into the crash.
Rippy was a sophomore at Tullahoma high School but played middle school football at Westwood in Manchester.
House Fire Takes The Life Of Four People
The fire occurred at a home on Kingdom Road around 11 p.m.
The victims have been identified as 72-year-old Leon McClaran, Molly McClaren, 70, Chloe Pope, 9, and 7-year-old Gage Daniel.
The deceased children, who attended Community Elementary School in Unionville, TN, were the couple’s step-grandchildren, according to family members.
Bedford County Sheriff Randall Boyce said he believed the home was a two-story house that collapsed into the basement.
