11/30/12 — Thomas Edward Hice, Sr.
THOMAS EDWARD HICE, SR., age 79, of Tullahoma, departed this life on Monday, November 26, 2012, at Life Care Center in Tullahoma, Tenn., following a brief illness.
Mr. Hice was born to the late, Onman and Florence Shoemaker Hice in Winchester, Tenn.
He was a member of the First Church of Jesus Christ in Tullahoma, Tenn. Mr. Hice was a self-employed brick mason for approximately fifty years.Mr. Hice was active in his church and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel Hice, daughters; Laura Lowe both of Tullahoma, Robbie (Randy) Clark of Ringgold, Ga., sons; T.Tom Hice, Gary (Kathy) Hice, Step-son, Michael (Michelle) Fletcher all of Tullahoma, brothers; James Hise of Indiana, Joseph Hise, George Hice, Parker Hice all of Tullahoma and Charles Hice of Selma, Ala., sister, Dorothy Jean Amaral of Huntsville, Ala., 8-grandchildren, 3-step-grandchildren, 10-great-grandchildren, 3-step-great-grandchildren, 2-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the First Church of Jesus Christ, 1100 East Lincoln Street, Tullahoma, TN.
Visitation will also be at the Church on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm.
Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.

Deer Season Is Going Well
Tennessee sportsmen harvested more than 17,000 deer on the opening weekend of gun season.
As of Monday, sportsmen had reported 17,093 deer harvested last weekend. That was 2,630 more than last year’s opening weekend.
Including the archery and muzzleloader seasons, more than 86,000 deer have been harvested in Tennessee so far.
This year, Tennessee sportsmen have one continuous gun season that runs through January 6th.
SEC Warns About Fake Tickets
The Southeastern Conference wants to remind fans to be cautious when purchasing SEC Football Championship tickets on the secondary market.
Tickets for the December 1 game between number 3-ranked Georgia and number 2-ranked Alabama are sold out. A web search at StubHub.com show ticket prices ranging from $300 to $8,823.
Many fans will obtain tickets through various channels on the secondary market, but both schools and the SEC advise buyers to be aware of possible counterfeit or stolen tickets.
Any individual in possession of a counterfeit or stolen ticket will be denied access into the game.
The SEC and the Georgia Dome will be offering a “Ticket Validation Window” at the main box office of the Georgia Dome beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1. The authenticity of the ticket can be confirmed by a box office representative on site.
UPDATED!! Tullahoma Woman Found Murdered
The body of a white female, age 23, of East Lincoln St in Tullahoma was found in a wooded area off of Spring Creek Road in Franklin County Monday around noon.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Tim Fuller, two hunters found Kayla Qualls inside a Ford Explorer. The sheriff says the case is being handled as a homicide. He added the Qualls died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Investigators from the sheriff’s department arrived at the scene around noon and began to canvas the area in search of a possible weapon. They also requested assistance from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Sheriff Fuller said they are continuing to investigate the woman’s death.
Qualls was the mother of 2 children.

Manchester Police Conducted Saturation Patrols Over The Weekend
Manchester Police were out in full force Friday night conducting saturation patrols. The officers were checking suspected drunk drivers as well as checking for seatbelt usage. The Tennessee Highway Patrol also conducted a sobriety checkpoint on the Old Tullahoma Highway as part of their No Refusal campaign to reduce drunk drivers during the holiday. Last year there was one traffic fatality during the Thanksgiving holiday.
