9/24/15 —- Vicky Glosson Hereford
Mrs. Vicky Glosson Hereford, age 65, of Tullahoma, passed away Tuesday at her residence.
She was born in Bedford Co., TN to the late James Harold and Lucy Mae Burrow Glosson Sr. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ray Hereford, a brother, James Harold Glosson Jr. and a sister, Mechell Sudberry.
Vicky was a former supervisor at Deutsch in Tullahoma.
Vicky is survived by her daughter, Kelly Hereford, brother, Brent Glosson, sister, Jan Glosson Black, sister in law, Rita Storey, grandchildren, Jaela and Ja’Kari Waters, nephew, Tommy ( Shannoah) McAdams and several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

9/25/15 —- Johnnie Pearl Hastings
Johnnie Pearl Hastings, of Manchester, passed this life on Monday, September 21st, 2015 at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville at the age of 77.
Mrs. Hastings was born in Coffee County to the late Edward Paul and Lena Mae Driver Nowlin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James C. Hastings; two sisters, Peggy J. Cid and Laura L. Nowlin; and one brother, Edward Paul Nowlin Jr.
Mrs. Hastings is survived by her daughter, Sue A. Talley and her husband Chris of Manchester; two grandsons, Tristan and C.J. Talley, both of Manchester; step-daughter, Patricia A. Parker of Shelbyville; step-son, James Taylor Hastings of Shelbyville; one sister, Ann Sartain of Manchester; one brother, George Nowlin and his wife Sherry of Shelbyville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th, 2015 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 pm.
Burial will follow at a later date at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.

9/23/15 —- Edith Ellen Haggard
Mrs. Edith Ellen Haggard, age 79 of Manchester, Tennessee passed from this life on Sunday, September 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Haggard was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Raymond Haggard, parents, Freddie Albert and Mary Lela Harmon Hansert, one sister, Mary Helen Hansert Stroud, one brother, Freddie Martin Hansert, and great grandson Matthew Brown.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Roberts, Renee Haggard, one son Ray Haggard, one brother, Norman Edward Hansert and wife Norma Jean, five grandchildren, LeBron Haggard and wife Angie, Christopher Haggard and wife Stacey, Connie Roberts Koon and husband Chris, Natalie Haggard Brown and husband Matt, Elissa Woodard, and nine great grandchildren all of Manchester, Tennessee.
Mrs. Haggard was a member of the Forest Mill Baptist Church for over twenty years. Edith was a dedicated wife and mother. Cooking large family meals and sewing were her passions. She enjoyed caring for her roses and flowers. Her faith and her family were her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Edith Haggard will be conducted on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Marvin Davenport and Brother Tim Garrett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Forest Mill Baptist Church.

CHS Volleyball Splits Pair of Matches at Warren County on Monday
The Coffee County CHS volleyball team split a pair of matches in Warren County on Monday as a warm up to a busy week. In the first match, Coffee County controlled the first set before service errors allowed the home standing Lady Pioneers to scratch out a 25 to 23 come from behind win. Warren County closed out the best of 3 match with a 25 to 20 win in the second set to earn the sweep. The Lady Raiders were forced to take on Tullahoma immediately following the Warren County match and the Lady Raiders took out their frustrations of the Lady Cats. Coffee dominated in all aspects in the 2 set sweep of Tullahoma winning by set scores of 25-15 and 25 to 11. The Lady Raiders host 2 pivotal district games this week as they welcome the top 2 teams in the district to the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym. 2nd place Lincoln County visits on Tuesday while district leading Columbia comes to town on Thursday. Both matches begin at 6:00 PM.
CCMS Soccer Drops Warren County 5 to 1 on Monday
A hat trick by Julia Duncan helped power the Coffee County Middle School soccer team to 5 to 1 win over Warren County on Monday at CCMS. Journey Arnold got the scoring started off a feed from Duncan at the 5 minute mark to set the tone for the match for Coffee County. Coffee County stretched the lead to 2 to 0 off a corner kick from Jenna Garretson that Warren County inadvertently deflected into the net. The rout appeared to be on at the 25 minute mark as Duncan scored her 1st goal but a late goal by Warren County sent the match to the half at 3 to 1. The Lady Raiders matched Warren County’s physical play in the 2nd half as Duncan found the back of the net twice in the final 15 minutes to register her 2nd hat trick on the year. With the win, the Lady Raiders improved to 8-0-1 on the season. Coffee County hosts North Franklin on Wednesday at 5:00 PM in a friendly as the Lady Raiders look to complete their second straight unbeaten regular season.
Lady Raider Golf Team Wins 3rd Straight Region Title to Advance to State Tournament

For the 3rd straight season, the Coffee County Lady Raider golf team is Region 4AAA champions. The Lady Raiders outdistanced 5 region qualifying teams on Monday at the Region 4AAA Golf Tournament in Tullahoma to make their 3rd straight trip to the TSSAA state golf tournament next week. Savannah Quick fired a 79 to tie for 2nd lowest score on the day and Sophie Vinson carded an 80 for 4th medalist as the Lady Raiders outdistanced 2nd place Riverdale by 6 strokes. Teagan Perry shot an 88 to round out the Lady Raiders scoring. The Lady Raiders, who are the defending state runner-up, will open state tournament play on Tuesday, September 29th at Manchester’s Willowbrook Golf Club.

The Red Raider golfers finished in 2nd place behind region champion Tullahoma on Monday as their team score of 323 was 11 strokes back of the Wildcats. John Parigger was the low scorer for Coffee County as he carded a 77 on the day. Austin Farris, Samuel Prater and Reid Lawrence all came in at 82 while senior Hayden Proffitt ended his senior season with a long putt on the 18th green to finish at 87. Parigger was the 4th medalist in the region and qualified for next week’s state tournament. Parigger was quick to thank “my teammates, Coach Ray and especially my parents for all the support. I also want to thank all my friends, fellow competitors and anyone else who has helped me get to get better.” The Coffee County golf teams are coached by Mike Ray and Marshall Gilliam.
9/23/15 —- Betty Jo Burgess
Mrs. Betty Jo Burgess age 74 of Hillsboro TN passed away Sunday, September 20 at her residence.
A native of Lincoln County she was a daughter of the late Earl Thompson and Teenie Smith Thompson.
Mrs. Burgess was a member of College St. Baptist Church in Tullahoma. She was a homemaker who enjoyed watching television, tending to her flowers, and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by husbands Erskin Owens, and Harold F. Burgess; son, Lawrence Wayne Owens; stepsons, Hal Burgess, Carter Burgess, and stepdaughter, Carlotta Hill.
Survivors include her son, Gary Owens and wife Peggy of Moore County; daughter Judy Money and husband Bobby of Hillsboro; stepsons Ronald Burgess and wife Carolyn of Tullahoma, and Roger Burgess of Tullahoma, and step daughter Debbie Taylor of Tullahoma.
The family will receive friends Tuesday September 22, 2015 from 5-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 23, 2015 at 2 PM with Bro. Randall Harmon officiating.
Burial will follow in the Smith Chapel Cemetery.
