The Lady Rockets were able to go toe to toe with the Lady Eagles for much of the first half trailing by 3 at intermission. Eagleville was able to pull away in the 2nd half as they outscored Westwood 21 to 7 after intermission to earn the season sweep over the Lady Rockets. Westwood was led in scoring by Valerie Barger who finished with 5 points. Haidyn Campbell finished with 4 points while Clarissa Barrera netted 3 free throws.

After jumping out to a 14 to 2 lead in the boys’ game, Westwood saw Eagleville fight back to only trail by 4 points at the half. The Rockets dominated the 3rd quarter only to see the Eagles make it a game in the 4th quarter before closing the door. The Rockets were led in scoring by Trenton Thompson who scored 17 points. Cruz Pitsinos added 9 points and Wyatt Nugent finished with 7 points.
Westwood is off until Monday when they head to Lynchburg to face Moore County. Tip-off is set for 6 PM. Westwood’s next home game is on Thursday, December 1st when Cascade visits the Joel Vinson Gym for the Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Predators Begin Home Stand with 3 to 1 Win over the Lightning
The Predators returned home Monday night to kick off their Thanksgiving week home stand to take on the Steven Stamkos-less Tampa Bay Lightning.
This was one of the better starts the predators have had this season. Viktor Arvidsson continued to remain red-hot, scoring his sixth goal of the game on a beautiful pass from Roman Josi. The Preds were able to keep the pressure on the Lightning, as Tampa Bay was not able to get much going offensively.
Pekka Rinne continues to baffle opposing defenses. He has turned away some pretty good chances by the Bolts in the second period. P.K. Subban unloads a slap shot, and Ben Bishop has no chance there and Nashville takes a 2-0 lead. Moments later, Subban strikes again, his first multi-goal game since October 2014. Ryan Ellis quietly has three assists, the third three point game of his career, and first three assist game.
The game started getting chippy in the third period. Arvidsson rode Namestnikov kind of hard into the boards and drew a penalty. J.T. Brown returned the favor knocking Roman Josi into the boards fairly hard as well. Josi had to leave the ice and get checked out. Not too long after that, Brown pounced on Ryan Ellis, unloading a barrage of punches WWE style. The Lightning added a goal after Ellis and Brown were handed misconducts. The shutout is gone but luckily this one ends before any steel cage matches break out.
The refs deserve most of the blame for that 3rd period, as they severely mishandled the physical play that led up to the final melee. Brown is definitely culpable, as is Ellis, but the refs had chances to call penalties for obvious infractions and didn’t.

Female Attempts to Rob McMinnville Waffle House

Queen McElrath
Police say the suspect entered the restaurant, sat at a booth and ordered a drink. When the waitress came back, the suspect showed the barrel of a gun and ordered the waitress to get the money out of the cash register. During this time another employee told the suspect the police had been called. The suspect then ran out of the building without obtaining any money.
Police say their investigation led them to McElrath, who had disguised herself to look like a male prior to the robbery attempt. The gun turned out to be a BB gun.
McElrath was charged with aggravated robbery and was jailed under a $25,000 bond.
More than 4 Million Workers to become Eligible for Overtime Pay beginning Dec 1
More than 4 million U.S. workers will become newly eligible for overtime pay thanks to a Federal rule that goes into effect on Dec. 1.
The new Fair Labor Standards Act will be a boost to some worker’s wallets while others will keep the same pay but work fewer hours.
The new rule would make time-and-a-half mandatory for anyone earning less than $47,476 a year.
It would more than double the salary threshold under which employers must pay overtime to their white collar workers. Overtime protections would apply to workers who make up to $913 a week, or $47,476 a year, and the threshold would adjust every three years to reflect changes in average wages.
The Department of Labor estimates that nationally 4.9 million workers will receive the overtime protection.
Your Thanksgiving Meal will Cost Less this year
According to the American Farm Bureau, the average cost of a Thanksgiving dinner is down from last year, but not by very much.
A family of 10 will spend roughly $50 total for the entire meal. That’s $5 per person, and 24 cents less than last year.
A big reason why your Thanksgiving meal will cost you less is because of the turkey. A 16 pound Turkey will cost 30 cents less than it did last year. The U.S. has an oversupply of turkey, which is helping to keep turkey prices from going higher.
You’ll also save money on dessert for Thanksgiving. Pumpkin pie mix will cost about 7 cents less and a gallon of milk is 6 cents less.
However, not all your Thanksgiving favorites are cheaper. Bread, sweet potatoes, and fresh cranberries all went up.
